Why are the photos I removed from my iPhone still showing up on my iPad if I'm on iCloud?
Is Photo Stream on your iPhone, turned on?
Settings>iCloud>Tap 'Photo Stream' In List

After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version". Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the error message is exactly like that ("Database error: failured to persist version")
No photos will import at all. I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
About the difference? iPhoto and Photos . Are there two softwares?
I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro, iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto. It's call iPhoto library. At one point I turned off streaming.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I have owned an ipad for a few months and taken photos without synching to Photstream. Having just done this I now see photos are removed from iCloud after 30 days. Are these recoverable or lost for good?

The 30 day limit, as I understand it, prevails after you reach one of the prevailing number limits. I've yet to reach one of those limits over the past few years and my PhotoStream is still intact.
However, it's a good idea to move your photos into iPhoto which is your on-disk library. And, this library can be backed up locally, thus, preserving your photos. -

I previously had an ipod nano but now have an ipod touch, when I synced it for the first time I got songs on to the ipod which I dont want, I have tried unticking them in itunes library and this doesnt work. I have also tried going to summary to remove manually but it doesnt show any songs in this box to be removed. Can anone help please.
Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts. -

Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

It is not possible to remove the Mail app (or any other of the bundled apps) from the iPad. It's probably been moved to another Home screen or inadvertently placed in a folder. If you can't find it, you can reset the Home screens in the General -> Reset preferences.

If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

My 7-year-old iMac died. I don't plan to replace it. It is backed up to Crashplan. Is it possible to restore my iPhoto library to the cloud, i.e. iCloud or Dropbox, so that I can access the photos as needed from my iPad or iPhone?
Probably not - but that certainly does not involve iPhoto for the Mac - you need to look at Crashplan support for you options
And iCloud is not a place to store photos so that is certainly not a possibility
If you restore your masters folder out of the iPhoto library you will have all of your original photos to do with what you please

There are now well over 400,000 3rd party apps available via the iTunes app store. All should work on the iPad but all are not optimized for the iPad - written for the iPhone and optimized for a smaller screen but will work on the iPad.
You can download apps from the iTunes app store with iTunes on your computer followed by installing the apps on your iPad via the iTunes sync process, or download/install the apps from the App Store app direct on your iPad. -
I have an ipad I used with a computer which's now broken. I bought a new Macbook Pro and signed into iTunes with my usual Apple id and pw. I connected my ipad to the new Macbook but it won't back up my photos or Apps from the ipad to the new macbook. Help
What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Is there any way to edit and save an existing spreadsheet file that was not created from my iPad? I get excel spreadsheets emailed to me and would love to edit them on my iPad and not ever use my PC.
Thanks. I tried an app called Office2HD and it does exactly what I need. I can even email my edited file from this app.

Deleted attachments are not removed from Content Server
We have setup Content Server to store business documents and create attachments in documents in CO. Both types are stored ok and can be opened without any problems. After deleting them though, they disappear from the Attachment List but when looking in CS, attachments created on the document still exist in CS. Stored business documents on the other hand are removed properly.
Looking at statistics in CSADMIN shows that the deletion of the created attachment does not increment the "delete" counter.
Any ideas on why the created attachments are not removed from CS upon deletion?
ThanksWe have solved this issue now. By design, the attachments are not removed directly from the content server upon deletion; Instead you will need to run report RSBCS_REORG to completely remove them from the Content Server.
