Photos not rotated in iCloud Photostream

Using iPhoto 11 v.9.5 under Mavericks OS X 9.
I rotate photos in iPhoto 11 and they look fine locally. However, in the iCloud the photos remain unrotated, whether looked at with iPhoto or through AppleTV.
Any ideas how to correct this?

Try manually adding the rotated version to the Photo Stream. You may have to turn off the Automatic Upload option in iPhoto's iCloud preference pane.  As that will upload the original version before you have a chance to rotate it.
After rotating the image use the Share button at the bottom, select iCloud and then My Photo Stream.
An alternative method would be to losslessly rotate the files with Xee 2.2 before importing into iPhoto.

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud Photo Library from Photos beta

I have been trying for a couple of weeks now to upload photos from my Mac to the iCloud Photo Library using the new Photos beta. I have about 2,800 photos and the upload process just stalls with about 2,000 photos left to upload.
I've tried turning the upload on and off and rebuilding the library but nothing works. A couple of times when restarting the upload process I have received this error message:
Referenced files will not upload to iCloud Photo Library
Select referenced files in your library and choose “Consolidate” from the File menu to copy the original files into the library.
So I gather I'm supposed to select a few files and consolidate them, but I have no idea what the "referenced" files are.  Might anyone know?
    thanks!

  • Photos not rotated (when saving slideshow as PDF)

I occasionaly have a slideshow of photos which I want to make available as a PDF file. Unfortunately many of the images come out cropped (photos with bits cut off) and not rotated (even though they're rotated in the slideshow.
What is the cause of this, and how do I resolve the problem?
(my solution up to now has been to import the PDF file into Adobe Acrobat Pro, then rotated the pages that needed to be, and finally resaved.
That solved the orientation problem, but not the cropping). There's got to be a better way!

Hadn't thought of that. I'll give printing albums a go.
Actually the slideshows aren't on my own computer (I'm just helping someone else), but I think it's iPhoto '08 (I only have iPhoto 5 myself). I believe I just clicked on a "print" icon to the lower right on my friend's Mac, and of course chose to "Save as PDF" in the print menu.
I'll look into it closer, and try to see which images are cropped/OK, and also try your suggestion.

  • Edited photo not copied to my photostream

I used Photo to edit a photo in my photo stream and saved it. The edited version appeared in my camera roll, but was not copied into my photostream as I had expected. I then took a picture. That picture appeared in my camera roll, and was quickly copied to my photo stream. I am using an iPad and of IOS 7.0.4.

Ooops! Should have waited before posting. Those missing new photos still not in My Photo Stream.
But my iMac iPhoto is now offering to import those missing photos.

  • Why do my photos not appear in icloud?

None of my photos appear in my icloud. When I open up the icloud on my PC, there isn't even a menu choice for photos.  I have the Photos option selected on both my iPhone and iPad, but the photos never upload to iCloud.  I am connected to WiFi as well.

    Hi Vwgirl18,
It sounds like there should be an option to enable Photo Stream on your PC.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
    PC:
Open the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.x).
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is on and adjust the settings.
    Click Apply when you're done.
Further down it discusses how to view them:
How do I view My Photo Stream?
PC using Windows 8.1: From the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud Photos app.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
    Take care,
    Nubz

  • Aperture photos not syncing to iCloud Photo Library

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1 and a recent MacBook Pro with Yosemite. I've done everything to turn on iCloud Photo Library and iCloud Drive and I have plenty of iCloud storage capacity.  However, the iCloud Photo Library is only showing unedited photos taken on the iPhone.  No photos stored in either iPhoto or Aperture on my Mac are showing up in the iCloud Photo Library.  I thought this was supposed to be the way you could store all your photos from any device in edited form.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

I have iCloud Photo Library switched on in my iPhone 5 and iPad 4 and photos are still importing into Aperture in the Photo Stream Projects. It seems that as far as Aperture is concerned, nothing has changed. Running Yosemite 10.10.1 and iOS 8.1.1
Yes, the mobile devices will still be streaming with My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams to all devices, also to iPhoto or Aperture.  The upload from the macs to the mobile devices will no longer work, however.
If you enable "iCloud Photo Library (Beta)", "My Photo Stream" does no longer upload from Aperture or iPhoto. Try it please, and tell us, if it still works for you. There have been many reports, does Aperture can no longer upload to iOS8 devices, if they are using Cloud Photo Library (Beta).
And iTunes Photo Sync will be disabled as well. So the web interface will be the only access to the iCloud photo library from your Mac. Your Mac will only show you the images in the Photo Streams. To see your iCloud Photo Library (Beta) use the Photos.app on the iCloud webpage.

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud photo library from PC

Hopefully I am not the only person with this problem, but it's driving me round the bend.
iCloud installed on PC and default folder Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream contains c1,800 photos
When I got to Favourites\iCloud Photos\My Photostream there are only 5 photos
When I try to manually add photos in the explorer window Favourites\iCloud Photos\My Photostream it seams to crash or just not update
When I visit iCloud.com there are only 489 photos and as others have described there is no upload button in the browser interface.
So in summary it doesn't upload from PC and I cant upload from the browser despite all pictures sitting in the right folder the syncing doesn't appear to work.
    Please, Please help!! :-)

Same here - no upload button for me, too. OS X Lion, Safari 6.1.6. Trying not to take it as personal.

  • Iphone 4s Photos not rotating correctly when transferred to computer.

When transfering a photo or video from an iphone to a computer the pictures and videos are all updside down.  I have an iphone 4s and was wondering if this is a bug or if there is a way to fix this?  thanks
    Additional note - i use a windows 7 pc

I am having the exact same problem. I am transferring photos via icloud to my windows 7 PC, some pictures I can rotate and others I can't. I get an error about file properties, even though the file properties are the same as the photos I can rotate. This is definitely some kind of bug.

  • Trouble sharing photos between devices via iCloud photostream

I have trouble sharing photos in my iPod 4th generation with an iPad 2 user. I've sent an invitation to an iPad user to share my shared album with him but he didn't receive any email regarding on this invitation. Whereas, when the iPad user invite me to share his album, I've receive the email and joined his photostream. Unfortunately, the album didn't appear in my iPod. Can someone help me identify the problem? Thank you

    Hi LCelineee,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
These tips may help if your shared photo stream invitation is not being received:
I've sent email invitations to my shared stream, but not everyone received one.
    Try these troubleshooting steps:
Ask the person you're inviting to check any junk or spam email folders for the invitation.
Try resending the invitation. If a recipient still doesn't get the invitation, send it to a second or alternate email address for that person. The recipient's mailbox may be full, or either the person or the email service provider may have a filter that is preventing the email from being delivered. If you're using iOS 7, you can also send the invitation to the phone number that the recipient uses for iMessages.
If the person has received an invitation at least once in the past, that person may have opted to unsubscribe from future iCloud Photo Sharing emails. See the section on opting out of emails, below, for more details.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, contact Apple Support for further assistance.

  • Photos not appearing after iCloud restore

My previous iPad 2 was fully backed up on iCloud.  It failed and was replaced by Apple for a new one. I did an iCloud restore, which seemed like no problem, and no pictures showing up on new iPad. Message that it was downloading X # of photos, but nothing. Tried a restore on another spare iPod, and this time, no photos and no message about the # of photos. Repeated both 2 or 3 times. Same thing as before on each one. Any ideas?

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC
    Hope this helps.

  • Photos not loaded to icloud

I have set up iCloud on my iPhone.  When I take photos, they are not uploaded to my iCloud nor do they show up on my iPad or PC.  I have gone over the setup sequence multiple times and all is set up properly.  Any suggestions as to what to try next?

I've also been having a similar problem. However some of my pics upload, then some get missed out, and then it picks up again a few pictures later. And the 5/10/20 or however many in between get missed out. Only way I can transfer them is to plug my iPhone in.

  • IPhoto thinks I'm not logged into iCloud - photostream won't work

I want to turn on photostream so my iPhone pix will go over my wifi into my Macbook, but when I try to start photostream in iPhoto it says I have to login to iCloud and it takes me to the Macbook's System Preferences, where it shows that I already am logged in. It's like iPhoto can't 'see' that I'm already logged in.
    Any ideas?
    -Alden
    I'm using:
Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on Retina Macbook Pro
    iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1
    iPhoto 9.4.1
    Fios wifi at home

Try logging out of iCloud in the System preferences and then log back in.  Go to iPhoto and and do the same for Photo Stream.

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud Photo Library

My issue is with iCloud Photo Library on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.3). Works fine for a few days, then gets stuck and won't upload anything to iCloud, which in turn won't show up in the Photos app on my Mac (OS X 10.3.3). Currently it's been stuck on "4 Photos to Upload" for a over a day now. This happened last week as well and I had to shut off iCloud Photo Library and turn back on. It eventually worked, but that was a long painful process because I have 80GB of photos.
It's not a wifi issue either, and I've rebooted the phone as well. I've been on 2 separate very fast internet connections and only used half the space on my 200 GB iCloud plan. I've edited a few photos with Snapseed and Camera+ using extensions – could it be a corrupt photo using a 3rd party app causing the problem?
When iCloud Photo Library works, it's great, but this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks to hang during upload. I wish there was a way to refresh it or force it to upload without turning the whole thing off and on. Anyone else having this issue?

Same here - no upload button for me, too. OS X Lion, Safari 6.1.6. Trying not to take it as personal.

  • Is it possible selected photos not sync to icloud?

Is it possible to have f.e. "private album", than isn´t sync with icloud photo library? Some photos I want to keep only in my iPhone, but I want to use icloud photo library for all the rest of my photos.

Ahh, ok...when you purchased the iPad was it supposed to be restored to factory condition?  If it was then the previous owner's Apple ID should have been removed.  If the unit did not have the ID removed there is no option but to get the previous owner to turn off Find My and remove the Apple ID.
You can try doing a restore to factory condition and see if that works, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and if there is no Activation Lock set you will end up back at a factory fresh iPad but with the current iOS still on it.
If the iPad wants the Apple ID then you must get that from the previous owner as the Activation Lock cannot be bypassed.
