Photos not sharing on iCloud

I cannot share via iCloud. I get drop down menu click iCloud sharing  add recipients but nobody gets them. Also I have no options in Photos when I click iCloud and this appears with no options
ICloud is only available through system photo library

Finally found the right solution and changed the "photo system library" to the one that has all photos.

  • HT202786 Photos not sharing to iCloud or My Photo Stream. Help!

Migrated over to Photos. I see all my pictures, but when I click on the Shared button up top it hangs showing “Connecting to Library” and below that “Retrieving latest photo sharing activity”.
I’ve tried disable and reenabling iCloud options, but to no avail.

    Fixed it!!!
First make sure you have your machine set up to display hidden files.  (Mine was turned off to hide all those darn .DS files so that was job number one).
This  link shows how to do it if you need to thru terminal.
    https://pixelgrinch.wordpress.com/2014/10/20/mac-os-x-show-hidden-files-in-yosem ite/
    Then
    1. Close Photos
    2. Go to System Preferences, iCloud, Photos and disable “My photo Stream” and “iCloud Photo Sharing”
    3. Go to folder /Users/YourUser/Library/Containers/com.apple.cloudphotosd/Data/Library/Applicat ion Support/com.apple.cloudphotosd/services
    4. Delete com.apple.photo.icloud.myphotostream and com.apple.photo.icloud.sharedstreams folders
    5. Enable “My photo Stream” and “iCloud Photo Sharing” again.
    6. Start Photos. After a while, the shared photos will start coming although may take a while.
Last step, go back and hide hidden files, again shown on link above.

  • Photo albums shared on iCloud

How come the photo albums shared on iCloud still use the iPhone's physical memory and how can I fix this ?

I'm bumping this. I thought the whole idea of icloud photosharing albums was the fact they are stored in the cloud thus not taking up any storage locally on the phone? Better yet they don't apply to icloud storage as well. However, I am confused as why if photosharing albums are stored in the cloud they are taking up storage on my phone?

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud Photo Library from Photos beta

I have been trying for a couple of weeks now to upload photos from my Mac to the iCloud Photo Library using the new Photos beta. I have about 2,800 photos and the upload process just stalls with about 2,000 photos left to upload.
I've tried turning the upload on and off and rebuilding the library but nothing works. A couple of times when restarting the upload process I have received this error message:
Referenced files will not upload to iCloud Photo Library
Select referenced files in your library and choose “Consolidate” from the File menu to copy the original files into the library.
So I gather I'm supposed to select a few files and consolidate them, but I have no idea what the "referenced" files are.  Might anyone know?
    thanks!

  • Aperture photos not syncing to iCloud Photo Library

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1 and a recent MacBook Pro with Yosemite. I've done everything to turn on iCloud Photo Library and iCloud Drive and I have plenty of iCloud storage capacity.  However, the iCloud Photo Library is only showing unedited photos taken on the iPhone.  No photos stored in either iPhoto or Aperture on my Mac are showing up in the iCloud Photo Library.  I thought this was supposed to be the way you could store all your photos from any device in edited form.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

I have iCloud Photo Library switched on in my iPhone 5 and iPad 4 and photos are still importing into Aperture in the Photo Stream Projects. It seems that as far as Aperture is concerned, nothing has changed. Running Yosemite 10.10.1 and iOS 8.1.1
Yes, the mobile devices will still be streaming with My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams to all devices, also to iPhoto or Aperture.  The upload from the macs to the mobile devices will no longer work, however.
If you enable "iCloud Photo Library (Beta)", "My Photo Stream" does no longer upload from Aperture or iPhoto. Try it please, and tell us, if it still works for you. There have been many reports, does Aperture can no longer upload to iOS8 devices, if they are using Cloud Photo Library (Beta).
And iTunes Photo Sync will be disabled as well. So the web interface will be the only access to the iCloud photo library from your Mac. Your Mac will only show you the images in the Photo Streams. To see your iCloud Photo Library (Beta) use the Photos.app on the iCloud webpage.

  • Why do my photos not appear in icloud?

None of my photos appear in my icloud. When I open up the icloud on my PC, there isn't even a menu choice for photos.  I have the Photos option selected on both my iPhone and iPad, but the photos never upload to iCloud.  I am connected to WiFi as well.

    Hi Vwgirl18,
It sounds like there should be an option to enable Photo Stream on your PC.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
    PC:
Open the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.x).
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is on and adjust the settings.
    Click Apply when you're done.
Further down it discusses how to view them:
How do I view My Photo Stream?
PC using Windows 8.1: From the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud Photos app.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
    Take care,
    Nubz

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud photo library from PC

Hopefully I am not the only person with this problem, but it's driving me round the bend.
iCloud installed on PC and default folder Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream contains c1,800 photos
When I got to Favourites\iCloud Photos\My Photostream there are only 5 photos
When I try to manually add photos in the explorer window Favourites\iCloud Photos\My Photostream it seams to crash or just not update
When I visit iCloud.com there are only 489 photos and as others have described there is no upload button in the browser interface.
So in summary it doesn't upload from PC and I cant upload from the browser despite all pictures sitting in the right folder the syncing doesn't appear to work.
    Please, Please help!! :-)

Same here - no upload button for me, too. OS X Lion, Safari 6.1.6. Trying not to take it as personal.

  • Photos not loaded to icloud

I have set up iCloud on my iPhone.  When I take photos, they are not uploaded to my iCloud nor do they show up on my iPad or PC.  I have gone over the setup sequence multiple times and all is set up properly.  Any suggestions as to what to try next?

I've also been having a similar problem. However some of my pics upload, then some get missed out, and then it picks up again a few pictures later. And the 5/10/20 or however many in between get missed out. Only way I can transfer them is to plug my iPhone in.

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud Photo Library

My issue is with iCloud Photo Library on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.3). Works fine for a few days, then gets stuck and won't upload anything to iCloud, which in turn won't show up in the Photos app on my Mac (OS X 10.3.3). Currently it's been stuck on "4 Photos to Upload" for a over a day now. This happened last week as well and I had to shut off iCloud Photo Library and turn back on. It eventually worked, but that was a long painful process because I have 80GB of photos.
It's not a wifi issue either, and I've rebooted the phone as well. I've been on 2 separate very fast internet connections and only used half the space on my 200 GB iCloud plan. I've edited a few photos with Snapseed and Camera+ using extensions – could it be a corrupt photo using a 3rd party app causing the problem?
When iCloud Photo Library works, it's great, but this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks to hang during upload. I wish there was a way to refresh it or force it to upload without turning the whole thing off and on. Anyone else having this issue?

Same here - no upload button for me, too. OS X Lion, Safari 6.1.6. Trying not to take it as personal.

  • Is it possible selected photos not sync to icloud?

Is it possible to have f.e. "private album", than isn´t sync with icloud photo library? Some photos I want to keep only in my iPhone, but I want to use icloud photo library for all the rest of my photos.

Ahh, ok...when you purchased the iPad was it supposed to be restored to factory condition?  If it was then the previous owner's Apple ID should have been removed.  If the unit did not have the ID removed there is no option but to get the previous owner to turn off Find My and remove the Apple ID.
You can try doing a restore to factory condition and see if that works, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and if there is no Activation Lock set you will end up back at a factory fresh iPad but with the current iOS still on it.
If the iPad wants the Apple ID then you must get that from the previous owner as the Activation Lock cannot be bypassed.

  • Photos not appearing after iCloud restore

My previous iPad 2 was fully backed up on iCloud.  It failed and was replaced by Apple for a new one. I did an iCloud restore, which seemed like no problem, and no pictures showing up on new iPad. Message that it was downloading X # of photos, but nothing. Tried a restore on another spare iPod, and this time, no photos and no message about the # of photos. Repeated both 2 or 3 times. Same thing as before on each one. Any ideas?

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC
    Hope this helps.

  • Photos not rotated in iCloud Photostream

    Using iPhoto 11 v.9.5 under Mavericks OS X 9.
I rotate photos in iPhoto 11 and they look fine locally. However, in the iCloud the photos remain unrotated, whether looked at with iPhoto or through AppleTV.
Any ideas how to correct this?

Try manually adding the rotated version to the Photo Stream. You may have to turn off the Automatic Upload option in iPhoto's iCloud preference pane.  As that will upload the original version before you have a chance to rotate it.
After rotating the image use the Share button at the bottom, select iCloud and then My Photo Stream.
An alternative method would be to losslessly rotate the files with Xee 2.2 before importing into iPhoto.

  • Photos not found on icloud after backing up.

I had an iphone 5 with a faulty battery. took my phone to the seller and he told me that the phone was going to be replaced. before giving the phone I backed verything on icloud through wifi. The day after I received my new phone and when I went to the icloud site on my pc I didint find my pictures. icloud only backed up my contacts. I tried going on to the icloud on windows but my brother has his iphone set up there.
Can someone tell me if i can dowmload these photos from an app on the iphone??
    Thanks in advance

You can't see photos on iCloud on a computer (Don't know why).  But you should be able to restore your phone from iCloud and get your pictures back.
Connect your phone to iTunes and it should show that you are set to automatically back up to iCloud.  Then you can click restore and it should restore from your cloud backup.

  • Photos not current in iCloud from iPhone

I thought that photos from my iPhone should sync to my iCloud when connected to wifi.  I just checked and they haven't since January 3rd.  My phone is connected to wifi every day.  What do I need to do so it syncs to my iCloud?

    What iOS?
    Are you using Photo Library?

  • Photos not uploading to iCloud from Photos?

    Hi all,
I have recently purchased 200GB worth of storage for iCloud and was hoping to store all my photos on iCloud and see them on all my devices. I thought that it would automatically upload and I knew it would take some time as I have 20,000 pictures but its only upload 1,800 photos from the photos program...
Can anyone help to explain why its done this or how I get all 20,000 up to iCloud?
    Thanks
    Andy

I have the same problem. Can anyone help? As far as I can tell everything has been enabled.
