Photos not sorted in iPAD from iphoto

Hi,
I'm trying to sync my photos in iphoto 9.5 with my ipad but the photo sorting order not coming the same as it's sorted in iphoto?!!
Worth to mention, I just moved from my old MACbookpro to the latest one using time machine restore. in my old laptop all was working fine but since i moved to the new laptop the photo order got missed up even after sorting them correctly in iPhoto (View -> Sort photos -> by title).
Need urgent assitance as this is effecting my work.

Sharing between iPhoto and others apps is governed by a file in the Library package called the AlbumData.xml file. The other apps read this file to be aware of the iPhoto content. Your problem is here:
My iPhoto library is housed on an external NAS (Buffalo Tech) device.
When stored on a disk formatted anything except Mac OS Extended (Journaled) iPhoto can have problems formatting the XML file. Other folks report issues with saving edits and importing photos.
The only solution is to have your Library on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

  • Photos not migrating by books from iPhoto

    Hi all,

  • Photos not showing after migrating from iPhoto to Photos.

I  just upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 and the Photos App, however when I started to migrate my iPhoto libraries (have nine(9) libraries) no pictures show up on the third one I migrated.  I checked and the migrated library file has been created (11.3 GB) however nothing shows up when I select the file and open this library.  Any suggestions by anyone would be appreciated.

Try these for the first attempt:
First be sure to have a backup copy of the library if you already don't have one.

  • I am trying to print a color photo on my MacBook Pro from iPhoto (not using Photoshop) using Epson 2200 printer, and everything I do in the Color Matching and Print Settings results in a photo with a pink cast to it. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to print a color photo on my MacBook Pro from iPhoto (not using Photoshop) using Epson 2200 printer, and everything I do in the Color Matching and Print Settings results in a photo with a pink cast to it. What am I doing wrong?

Have you checked the ink cartridges and made sure the nozzles are clear? Are you able to print from outside of iPhoto with the correct color?
Try the following: make temporary copy of the library and do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Any suggestions on how you can transfer photos (including location description etc) from iphoto's on a Mac air book to a Mac?

Any suggestions on how you can transfer photos (including location description etc) from iphoto's on a Mac air book to a Mac? Whenever I export the pictures the additional information is lost

    Two ways:
    1. File -> Export. Set the Kind to Jpeg or Tiff
Check the boxes at 'Location Information' and 'Titles and Keyword'
The information is written to the iptc and Exif metadata on the file.
    2. Use iPhoto Library Manager This will get all of the information plus faces and edit history

  • How can I remove photos added to my iPad from my PC and laptop?

How can I remove or edit photos added to my iPad from my PC and laptop?  New iPad.   Thanks!

You use the same process that you used to get the photos on the iPad to begin with. Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced -  and then re-syncing.
So that means that you have to connect your iPd to your computer, launch iTunes, select your iPad under the devices heading in the sidebar, click on the Photos Tab on the right and then uncheck the folder of photos that you synced to the iPad and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
If you want to remove all of the photos, uncheck the Sync Photos From Heading and then click on Apply.

  • Ipad photos not sorting correctly

When you synce your photos the Ipad will not sort them by name but in numeric descending order so your photos will not display in the correct order and there is no other way to sort them unless you own a Mac with Iphotos.... Please fix

I contacted an app maker and they are looking into expanding one of their existing photo apps to allow the iPad user to arrange the order.
I think this is mostly a Windows issue, because I read on another thread that iPhoto on macs allow for sequencing and this carries over to the iPad. Also, if the iPad sequencing is done with the date, then they'll have to determine the best method for dealing with this with that app.
If they do add the functionality to their app, I will post the info here.

  • Can not sync video (movies) from iPhoto to iPad

    iPad 64GB 3G
    MacPro
    iPhoto 8.1
    iTunes 9.1.1
I have a small number of videos (movies) managed in iPhoto. They cam off my digital camera and they go into iPhoto. everything has always been happy.
I select a small number of them and add them and some photos into a new album for my iPad. The photos work fine (shot and stored as jpeg and RAW) the videos do not transfer over. There is an error message about the .mov format not supported.
So why does the Apple iTunes not know how to get the Apple iPhoto movies and put them on the Apple iPad so I can see them?
I had to save a video from iPhoto out to file and open with Quicktime and then resave it and let iTunes sync it to GoodReader in order to see it on my iPAD. So why do I need a third party tool and a work around to get all of the Apple tools to work for my iPad when they seamlessly work for my iPod?

    Greetings,
iPad, like iPods and iPhones and Apple TVs, reads certain types of movie files.
The movies you are trying to sync are most likely, not a format that is compatible with iPad.
iTunes includes a built in feature that will convert movie files to the proper format. Take a look at the iTunes help menu: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesMac/9.1/en/31445.html
Drag your desired movies out of iPhoto and drop them into iTunes. You can then follow the above help article to convert them to an iPad version.
You can also read about the specific formats that iPad supports: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP580
    __Look under "TV and video"
On an unrelated note, there are new versions of iPhoto and iTunes available. You can download them by going to the Apple Menu and Software Update.

    Hope that helps.

  • Why can I not open photos loaded on USB stick from iPhoto on any other computer than a Mac?

I recently loaded a USB stick with various photos from iPhoto & these do not appear when attempted to be opened in My Documents on a Windows computer. Is there any way of fixing this issue?

Check the formatting of the USB stick. You have probably formatted the stick for Mac with a file system MacOS Extended (Journaled). This file system cannot be read by a Windows computer.   Save the photos to different drive and format the USB stick using Disk Utility to a file system both computers can read, MS-DOS   should work.
Disk Utility is located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.

  • Photos published to iWeb '08 from iPhoto as a gallery not showing up

Last night, from my home computer, after installing iLife 08, I made 2 new webpages using the new photo gallery feature from iPhoto.
It seemed too good to be true. It published pretty quick considering that there were 20+ 2.3mb photos. it seemed to work great. I viewed the newly published webpages. It was amazing, the photos were sized down, thumbnailed and loaded so fast.
Gave myself a hi-five, turned computer off and went to bed.
This morning, while at work, i cannot see the photos on these two, new pages. Surely my home computer does not have to be online in order for these photos to be viewable??
Here are the two web pages in question:

  • How can I free up space by deleting old photos from i photo? Have deleted files from iPhoto but that does not seem to free space- is it stored at a different site?

Want to free up disk space by deleting photos but unable to do so

    To delete photos from iPhoto:
Drag the image from the iPhoto Library (Either Events or Photos view) to the iPhoto Trash. Empty it. Then empty the system trash as well.
If space is an issue you can run a Library from an external drive:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Or move part of the Library to an external drive.

  • Can't Sync pictures with iPad from iPhoto in iTunes

I have an iPad 1, and original Aluminum Mac book running 10.7.
When i sync my photos to the ipad in itunes, it will not sync all 3000+ photos i want to sync from 5 different Albums i have set up in iPhoto. It randomly syncs 36 photos and that is it. It also puts the same 36 photos in two different albums. This has only happened since i installed 10.7.
It seems to only add videos and some pictures.

I was able to solve this problem by redownloading and installing iTunes from apple.com.
Then I created a new iTunes Library (hold alt on launch) and synced from this library.
N.B. Since I'm using iTunes Match and Mavericks has iBooks, my iTunes Library doens't contain any items on disk, so creating a new Library doesn't matter. If you have your music and or other items synced from your library, this may be not the best solution.
So looks like you are warning that creating a new library will loose things like album artwork, playcount etc.
Not really willing to take that sort of hit for Apples random decision to remove a key feature (even if it is a bug).
I would gladly receive any additional advice!

  • Photos not being sent properly from mail.app

I wonder if anyone can help with this issue. I cannot send photos via mail.app using the "email" button from iphoto, or by attaching using the "attach" button in mail.app or by dragging the picture from it's folder into a mail message.
The picture does not import at the right size, and the image itself gets corrupted, with lots of pixelations and jaggies. This never happened before Leopard.
I've looked in preferences and so forth and have found nothing to address this. I've sent photos "windows friendly" and otherwise. It makes no difference.
Anyone have a solution for this?

open iPhoto, select a photo, click e-mail and select actual size and click compose - after mail opens and the new email window appears with the photo in it in the lower right hand corner of the window just to the left of the corner to grab to change the window size there is a "wee" (or small:) ) menu window that will allow you to make the photo small, medium, large or actual size (Same options as you had in iPhoto but now in mail)
This is what TD was referring to
If it is not there I would try deleting the iPhoto preferences and doing it again - and if it is still not there, deleting the mail preferences (I'm not sure if that requires re-entering account information or not so I'd probably move the mail preferences to the desktop rater than trashing them as a test)
