Photos off IPOD

My problem is that, I had all of my photos on an older mac that died. I have them all on my Ipod Photo, is there any way to put them from the IPOD onto my new mac, without costly third party software? I know there are apps that do the same thing for music, I just want my pics, and helpful ideas and/or workarounds would be great.

I believe that supports photo transfer (and it's free).

  • Whats the best way to get photos off ipod touch 4?

I want to get my sons photos off his ipod touch 4 (ios 6-something), and onto a flash drive so he can use them in Windows movie maker, and to free up space on his ipod. Can't use dropbox with ios 6. I've backed up his ipod to our PC, but I can't find where the photos are stored on our computer. Is there an easier way?

  • Get photos off ipod onto PC

    Hi,
I lost all of my data on my PC, and my music/photos/videos are all on my iPod. I can't afford to pay for software to do this. But is there any way I can get my Videos/Photos off the iPod proprietary format, and back onto my Vista PC?
I already got the music off of it by showing hidden files and having iTunes descramble them.
    Thanks.

If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option, enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer", open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
    Disk Use.
If you only copied the photos as thumbnails, you can't do this so you'll need a program such as this one.
    CopyPod Photo
Photos as thumbnails won't be of the original quality when copied back to your computer.

  • Getting Photos off iPod

ok, ok, I know what im about to ask is taboo in the Mac world, but I need to know how to get photos off my iPod. I had lost my 5th Gen iPod about 3 years ago and recently I have found it again and want to get all the photos off of it. I have a new computer currently and I want all the pics off my iPod and onto my MBP. Is there any way I can get the pictures off without spending money and without only being able to download the first six pictures?
    Thanks for your help

There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

If you're using Sync to transfer photos onto your iPod, then those photos are in a particular folder on your computer. Simply remove the picture from that folder on your computer and the next time you Sync it should be removed.
Normally, (on Windows XP anyway) the folder used is the *My Pictures* folder (any any sub-folders in that) on your computer. If you have changed it to another folder and are not sure now which one it is, when you connect up the iPod to the computer, look on the Photos tab that appears. This will list the folder or folders that you are using.

  • Get photos off ipod to another computer

i have pictures already on my ipod, but i need help on how to get them from my ipod onto a different computer...

    Peter,
Did you happen to check the option to copy high-resolution photos? If so, then connect your iPod to the computer, open My Computer, open the drive representing the iPod, and click photos. The photos should be there.
If you did not check this option, try something like this...

  • Recver Photos off Ipod

OKay so i erased my whole Ipod and then restored it. But when it was ereased, it backed up itself as a new ipod. So, when i restored and tried to get everything back, it restpored eveything from the NEWLY eraesed back up.
ALL i want is my PICTURES back..
Does anyone knpw how to get my PICTURE'S back  like from a software or a way to do it from Itunes.

Honestly, the thumbnails are pretty small... not very useful. The files are in an .ithmb format, I have seen apps for this for a Mac ( http://echoone.com/filejuicer/formats/formats.php?f=ithmb ) but nothing for a PC.
    Let me know,
    Matt

  • Can't get photo's off iPod colour

    Hi, can anyone help please?
I have a 20gb colour iPod and can't get my photos OFF! When I connect it and iTunes opens up it recognises the songs I have but not the photo's. This is the same when checking the "settings" and "about" (Photos 0)on the iPod. I can view the photo's no problem on the iPod.
I have around 150 photos from my holiday and downloaded them directly from my digital camera to iPod via the camera connector

    Paul,
next time you connect your iPod, switch the "hard disc use" on the iPod preferences in iTunes on. Then you might be able to copy them from the folder. If this doesn't work, search for some addons that enables you to copy data from your iPod back to the computer. You can find them here http://www.ipodsoft.com/ and here http://www.ilounge.com/index.php
    Hope this helps!
    All the best

  • I need to get my Photos off of my iPod touch...

I have a iPod touch 16GB and a MacBook Pro.
Recently, I upgraded my Mac to Leopard, and had to wipe my HD. I thought that i had backed up all of my files to disks. Turns out that one folder didn't back up, and it was from my pictures, and they are pictures that are really important to me! They are still on my iPod Touch and I would like to get them off.
Does anybody know how I could do this? Are there any programs?

You may be able to find a program to transfer the photos off of the ipod touch back to your computer, but they will not be the same resolution as they were before. Itunes resized the photos before it transfered them to the ipod, so they will be of now a fairly low resolution even if you can transfer them back.

  • I got a new computer, how do I get the photos off my ipod on to my computer?

I got a new computer, how do I get the photos off my ipod on to my computer?

For photos synced from your computer ( photo library pics) you don't.  The photo sync is one way - computer to ipod.
You need to move the pics from your old computer or your backup copy of the old computer.  You could e-mail them to yourself.  They will not be of the original resolution.
For pics taken with ipod ( Camera Roll Pics), then you import them as you would from any digital camera.

  • HT1329 Can you transfer photos off the ipod classic?

Recently my hard drive in my MacBook Air crashed so I was wondering if I could transfer my photos that were originally placed on the Ipod Classic with a MacBook Air off of my Ipod Classic onto another Mac? If so how? Thanks

You can do that (in a useable form) only if you had a particular setting enabled when you synced the photos to the iPod.  To find this setting, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Photos tab.  On that screen, there is a checkbox that says Include full-resolution photos.  IF that checkbox was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, they are stored separately on the iPod as individual image files.  You just need to Enable disk use (on the iPod's Summary tab), and use Finder to open the iPod's "disk."  The image files are in a folder called Photos.
If that checkbox was not checked, the photos on iPod only exist in an optimized format to fit the small iPod screen and they are stored in a special "database" file (to save as much storage space as possible on iPod).  Therefore, they are not in a format that is directly usable, and they are low resolution, so even if they were extracted (using a third-party utility), they would look highly pixelated when enlarged to computer screen size.
