Photos on card stock print with a single grainy band.

I'm using a HP Officejet 6310 printer. The card stock has a matte finish. Even after I set the print quality to maximum DPI and print, the band is still visible. There are lighter bands on the photo image as well. The problem doesn't occur when I print on plain copy paper.

Print in best mode, and use either premium inkjet paper, or brochure media, matte.  The key is that you are not printed on a coated media, but simply paper pulp.  Also, your media is whiter than regular plain paper, so you want to use either of the two aforementioned, as the colors they put down are assuming good bright paper.
Hope that takes care of you!

  • Printing photos on card stock

I can't get my photos to print in the proper location on the 9x6.25 card stock. It keeps printing in the middle. The card stock is scored to fold so the photo needs to be in the upper half of the stock.

    Hello Rpatc.
Please try using the crop option in your software to see if cropping the image to your 9x6 size will help.
If you continue to have difficulties, please tell us if you are able to print standard 4x6, 5x7 or 8.5x11 sized images without any issues.

  • HP Deskjet F4240: ink runs and bleeds through paper and card stock

When I try to print business cards or letters with my new Deskjet F4240, the ink runs and bleeds through the paper or card stock.  The output can't be given to my customers because it looks cheap and unprofessional.  I think the problem is the Vivera ink as I have not encountered this problem in the past using the same paper and card stock, both with HP printers and with other brands of printers, and this is the first printer I've owned that uses Vivera ink.  Are there substitute cartridges that can be used, or do I need to replace the printer with one that doesn't use Vivera ink?  Thanks.
    This question was solved.

If the ink is bleeding through the paper or card stock it would indicate driver settings do not match the paper type.  Make sure you have selected plain paper of inkjet media depending on the paper type you have.  If you use photo apper settings on plain paper you will get too much ink on the page.

  • How do I get an Office Jet 6500A to print on Card stock?

How do I get an Office Jet 6500A to print on card stock. It pushes the card stock through the printer but will not print and tells me I have not selected the right print media. There is no selection for card stock.  I have tried every selection.  I assume there are other media definitions that can be downloaded but they certainly are not apparent.  I have been doing this job on all my other HP printers for years.  Suddenly this printer balks.

    Hi,
Page #22 of the manual says (must be the same as photo paper ?):
To load cards and photo paper
    1. Lift the output tray.
    2. Slide the paper width guide out as far as possible.
    3. Insert the media print-side down along the right of the main tray. Make sure the media aligns with the right and back edges of the tray and does not exceed the line marking in the tray. If the photo paper has a tab along one edge, make sure the tab is pointing towards the front of the printer.
    4. Slide the media guides in the tray to adjust them for the media size that you have loaded.
    5. Lower the output tray.
    6. Pull out the tray extender.
And the manual is : h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02519721.pdf

  • Print quality on card stock

I have a batch of Georgia-Pacific white card stock, 110 lb. weight. My printer is an HP Photosmart D5460. What is the best print setting to maximize the quality of color photos printed with this printer on this medium? Thanks for any suggestions anybody has.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 no borderless printing on card stock via Windows driver

I just setup the OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless printer the other day with the intent to print borderless cards on card stock.  I can print anything to it without issue however if I attempt to use borderless mode the Windows driver does NOT allow any paper type other than photo or glossy borchure types.
If I print anyway on card stock it looks ink soaked and muddy.  If I print on their recommeded types it looks fine but a card needs heavy card stock, not med or light paper weights.
If I do not select borderless, the print (on card stock) has a dredded border but the print quality is fine.
The driver will not allow even a "normal" or "draft" borderless on standard paper types.  Is there a hack or modification to allow me to print borderless on any paper?

  • C4450 card stock (avery 8371 business card stock) margin printing problems

printing to plain paper works fine every time
printing to cardstock starts printing on the top edge (no margin)
if i peel the top margin perferation then it prints somewhere else on the page
did i just buy a printer that cant do cardstock? if not then how do you fix it.
this is a hardware problem (brand new printer) not a software problem - does the same thing for every software pac that i use
    This question was solved.

I tried printing using a matte photo paper, but it didn't work.  My HP C4280 still prints without a left margin on Avery business card stock.
This IS a bug.  It has to be.  Why on earth would anyone build a printer by design that prints without the margin just because a different paper is used?  If I print with plain paper, it prints just fine.  But when I put in Avery paper, no good.
What is the point to this?  So that Avery makes more money from customers who waste business card paper?  So that HP makes more money from customers who waste ink?  I am not happy.  This should NOT be happening.
    HP, fix this problem now.

  • How do I set up my HP 7520 to print card stock off Avery 8859 design???

Trying to print business cards after designing on Avery 8859 card stock design.  HP 7520 All in one will only print a test page of thumbnails of the business cards even though it shows the correct size, etc. for the 8859 paper.
How do I set the printer for card stock, etc. as Avery describes, and what is going wrong??  I have wasted many hours, and lots of paper, and still NO BUSINESS CARDS!!!

    Hi @klmrazek,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are wondering how to set up your HP 7520 to print card stock off Avery 8859 design? I am sorry for the frustration, but happy to look into this for you!
From what I can find, the card size you are using is 2" x 3 1/2". This is an unsupported paper size with this particular printer. According to your printer specifications, here are the supported card stock sizes:
    Card type
    Card size
    3 x 5 in Index
    76.2 x 127 mm (3 x 5 in)
    4 x 6 in Index
    101.6 x 152 mm (4 x 6 in)
    5 x 8 in Index
    127 x 203.2 mm (5 x 8 in)
However, you might be able to get around this by assigning an alternate driver, by going through this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R. Then try a custom size print by going through this guide, Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X.
Otherwise, I would suggest a different size of paper, within your supported sizes using the chart provided. Or you can also try contacting Avery Support, in case they may have additional software or drivers that you can try.
Hope this information is helpful, and have a good day!

  • PRINTING ON CARD STOCK

When attempting to print on card stock paper, the LJ 6500 ejects the (blank) card stock paper and then prints on the second page. Yes, I know...put the card stock as the second page. But, I would like to know why the AIO ejects the first page. The driver that I  am using is a E710A-F.
    Your thoughts?

  • Mac OS X Won't Print Card Stock on Brand New OfficeJet Pro 8610 e AiO

Hi All - I print cardstock all the time and just purchased a new OfficeJet Pro 8610 eAiO from Best Buy 2 days ago.  The salesman told me it was the best option for cardstock printing and the specs say it can handle 110lbs cardstock.  It is hooked up and printed a couple standard paper pages nicely.  But when I put in the cardstock, it made all the noises like it was printing, but then "Load Paper" shows up on the LCD screen.  We have tried unplugging it, but that doesnt do anything.  After a little bit of fiddling with the tray (pushing and pulling on all tabs and springs we see), we put the tray back in and then it prints.  But we have to do this with every print request.  I have read to select "heavy paper or card stock" in the printer properties and to disable tray 2.  I dont have a tray 2 on my printer (that I am aware of at least).  And I dont see an option for printer properties for me to change anything.  Does anyone have directions for this process?  Also - I read that the printer may work if it is kept nearly full of paper?  Has anyone had success with this?  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi KRichBC,
Thank you again for answering my questions!
Checking over the printer's specifications, found at this website. HP Officejet Pro 8610, 8620, 8630, 8640, and 8660 e-All-in-One Printer Series Printer Specifications. This is a supported paper size at 8.5 x 11, if the paper type is Index Card Letter.
I also would recommend trying the solutions within this guide. An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the All-in-One Does Not Pick Up Paper. Again please, try a custom size print to see if that will work. Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X.
Hope this information helps you, and hope to hear from you soon!
