How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • How to get CLEAR photos on the Touch?

I love my iPod touch, but there's one thing that has always bothered my - photos sync'd through iPhoto-->iTunes are grainy and have bad color. Until now, I've been unable to prove this - but finally I've found a way to prove that it's not just in my head. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get clear photos on the Touch ... ?
First of all, after using the app "PhoneView" to download my sync'd pictures from my iPod BACK to my Mac, I've noticed that the resolutions are different for pictures, depending on whether their orientation is portrait or landscape. For portrait 4x6 images, the resolution is indeed 480x320. However, for landscape orientation, the resolution is consistently 640x426. I think it's kind of odd that iTunes would be sizing photos differently depending on their orientation ... I usually have my full-resolution pictures in iPhoto and sync those images through iTunes, but today I also tried manually resizing my pictures to 640x426 (landscape) and 480x320 (portrait) and then syncing them as a folder, rather than through iPhoto. The results were the same as doing it through iPhoto: disappointing. I've put together a sample, below:
    and another example here.
As you can see, even the manually resized images are turning out horribly grainy. What's even more disappointing than the image quality, however, is the file size: my original JPG is 84KB, but the iTunes' "optimized" JPG is five times as large (456KB) with inaccurate color and awful grain to boot. I mean, it looks like someone dribbled a basketball all over a glossy print (seriously, that grain's pattern is an exact match with the grain on a basketball) ... Is it supposed to look like that?
+After examining the EXIF data for both pictures, I've noticed another oddity which explains the bad color at least - when iTunes 'optimizes' pictures for the iPod, it apparently assigns them your monitor's color profile! Was this just an oversight that has yet to be corrected? When I export my pictures from Lightroom to iPhoto, I always use the sRGB profile because it's the most standard profile to use when sharing pictures (posting online, emailing, etc) ... My iMac's color profile is a custom Spyder2Pro profile, but that profile is only accurate for THIS MONITOR - certainly not my iPod! Anyway, I've uploaded the original pictures if anyone is interested in checking them out - you can download them in a zip archive here.+
This is the second iPod I've noticed grainy pictures with, so I know it's not just defective hardware. So I guess my question is simple: does anyone know of ANY way to get clear photos sync'd with the iPod Touch or iPhone? I've poked through plists in iTunes.app and preferences, etc - but I haven't found anything. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply, Duddo.
I guess you're right, Apple probably just wanted to simplify the syncing process and make it consistent for all users. And no, most users probably won't notice that awful grain and poor color reproduction.
That said, I think it's a real shame to waste the capabilities of the iPhone/Touch like this. Wasting storage space is asinine (increasing file size 5X when 'optimizing'?!) not only due to the limited storage space available in the first place, but also due to the fact that smaller files are quicker and easier to load and manipulate. Overwriting color profiles is just sloppy coding, an oversight - hopefully one they'll soon fix. But the biggest problem for me is that the pinch/zoom functionality is USELESS because if you zoom in at all, the grain is so blatantly obvious. I found an old discussion thread on another forum which mentions this problem, according to several posters there, the grain problem was introduced AFTER the iPhone launched (meaning it can likely be corrected in a firmware update or an iTunes update) ... You can check out that discussion here, if you're interested:
    http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone/not-optimize-photos-8264.html
Anyway thanks again for your reply. I'll keep my eye on this thread and if I hear anything about this issue (or a workaround) I'll be sure to post it!

  • Is there any way to transfer photos from ipod touch (2nd generation

Is there any way to transfer photos from ipod touch (2nd generation & OS is 4.2.1) to PC? I am struggling a lot. The OS cannot be upgradable beyond 4.2.1
I am wondering if there could be many other ways to transfer the photos like:
    1. with the help of any android app
    2. ipod touch to iphone/ipod latest version
    3. any 3rd party free softwares (there are paid 3rd party softwares but I dont want to invest)
I did try some of the options:
    1. I could emailed only 6 photos in one email (I have almost 800 photos and would be time consuming.
    2. I'm trying to access my google account on my ipod but it keeps coming up with "oops! your browser seems to have cookies disabled..." My cookies are not disabled. Safari is the only browser for ipod touch and could not be able to installed not only any new browser but also any iphone apps. Updates for the existing apps not possible at all. So this option of uploading the photos on google drive is ruled out.
Anybody is there to help me out? Sorry for such a long inventory.
    Thank you!

If they are in the iPod' Saved Photos album then:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If they were synced to the iPod you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView

  • Lost a 2 hard drives, have 7 k photos on a touch that I need to load on IMAC with a new hard drive, how do I do it.  Just never went from a Touch to iMac.  I have the cable hooked up and then what, I don't want to mess up,my last chance to save 7k pics!

Lost my hard drive and also an Ipad, but have 7 k photos on a Touch that I need to load on fixed IMAC with a new hard drive, how do I do it. (There were more photos than the 7k, but they were saved on other drives, thank goodness).  7K pohotos on the Touch are no where else, must be saved!  Just never went from a Touch to iMac.  I have the cable hooked up and then what, I don't want to mess up,my last chance to save 7k pics!  New Aperture and IPhoto on IMAC with no other photos loaded on the new hard drive yet.

I'd ask in the iTouch forum where there are more iTouch users there than here and they should know how to off load the photos.  It might take a 3rd party app.

  • On my iphone 5s, in "photos" when I touch to enlarge, random new photos taken with 5s appear as old photos taken with 4 years ago - that aren't even on the laptop that I plug into. How do I correct this?

On my iphone 5s, in "photos" when I touch to enlarge, random new photos are showing as old photos. For example, let's say I'm looking in an album at a photo of a dog I took today. If I touch to enlarge- that photo of a dog is suddenly a photo of a family member taken three years ago (on my old iphone 4). This is random and has happened to about a dozen photos. This has caused me to accidently delete new photos thinking they were old ones until I figured out this was some sort of glitch. The old photos that are posing as new photos aren't even on my laptop that I plug into - they've been on my external hard drive for awhile so I don't even know how they're linking! Any suggestions??

I've tried both ways.  My Computer locates the device but doesn't see the old photos, only listing the new photos.
I no longer have the iphone3; I just transferred the photos from the 3 to the 4.
Was there a format change or file type change or did the transfer process create something different?  I can still see and access the old photos if I go to that album on the phone.  But that's the only place where I can see them or access them.

  • Photos on the Touch

    1. What is the best size to make photos for the Touch?
    2. Some of my photos do not seem to fill the entire screen, even though their physical dimensions are very large. I am talking about when I view these images either in vertical or horizontal views. Why is this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Steve
The larger photos will have a different ratio than the screen of your iPod. The iPod has a screen size of 320x240. Therefore only photos that have the same ratio as this size will fill the screen.
As an example my 1680x1050 pixel desktop iMac pictures will scale down to fill the screen on my 1440x900 pixel MacBook Pro screen without having to stretch it in any direction.
    Hope this is helpful...

  • Is it possible to copy photos into iPod-Touch(4Gen) from PC(Win7) ?

Is it possible to copy photos into iPod-Touch(4Gen) from PC(Win7) ?
    Thks.

No, you use iTunes on either a PC or a Mac as the Apple article says in the link I supplied in my previous post.

    Thk you for the reply.
I assume that the "syncing" you're talking about is an iPhoto/Mac feature.
Unfortunately, I'm working on a PC(Windows7), and I can't find any of this in my PC iTunes.
    Could you confirm ?
    Thks in advance

iPhoto [v 9.5.1] on MBP won't load photos from iPod touch Gen4 32GB, even if let run overnight and don't let machine go to sleep.
MBP has 8GB Ram and separate video card using 2.3 Ghx i7 processor ... so i don't think it is a hardware issue.

    Hello A_MadDog,
It sounds like you are not able to import photos from your Camera Roll on your iPod touch.  I recommend following the steps in the article below for the issue you described:

Impossible to delete HiRes photo in the folder called: Saved photos
    What i Did..

So, i open my yahoo email and click the picture, save into my called Saved photos folder.
When i go to the icon Photo on the Touch, I can see the thumbnail of this picture, but if i click on it.. it tried to open, freeze and restard the ipod Touch.
So, i tried to delete it.. not able to because the picture won't open. (too much resolution ??)
So even if i use itunes, or iPhoto I can't see the folder called Saved photos or not able to delete it.
What Solution? How to manualy manage photos on the Touch? Using 3rd party apps? wich one?
I also Restore the ipod but it comes with this picture.. so, not better

When you connect to your Mac, does iPhoto launch? You cannot manually manage the pics on your IPT, but you can choose the option to delete the photos after the transfer. Try that, and it should eliminate the pic from the IPT.
If not, perform another Restore, but _do not_ select the option to restore from the backup. After that, the photo will be gone.
    Hope this helps...

How can I keep photos on iPod Touch from looking like color negatives?

You don't have to keep your photos in iPhoto to sync to your iPod according to Apple's website which states you can sync from folders in other locations:
    "Syncing Photos from a Mac
To sync photos from iPhoto or a folder on your Mac:
    1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
    2. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.
    3. In the main iTunes browser window, select the Photos tab.
    4. Select the checkbox labeled "Sync photos from" and then choose either iPhoto, Aperture, Choose Folder, or Pictures, from the menu.
    * If you choose iPhoto, select "All photos and albums" to copy all of your photos in iPhoto, or "Selected albums only" and select individual rolls or albums you want to include.
    * If you choose Choose Folder, navigate to and select the folder of photos you want, then click Choose. Select "All photos" to copy all photos in the folder, or choose "Selected folders" to sync particular subfolders.
    * If you choose Pictures, choose "All photos" to copy all photos in the folder, or choose "Selected folders" to sync particular subfolders.
    5. If you want iTunes to also include the full-resolution versions of your photos, select the "Include full-resolution photos" checkbox. To access full-size photo files, be sure to enable your iPod for disk use.)
    6. Once you have decided which photos you'd like to sync, click Apply."
    Hope this helps!
