Photos on my IPAD to my PC and back to my PC

I had transfered all my photos to my IPAD from my desktop as kind of a back-up.  If I were to lose my desktop hard drive, can I retrieve my photos from my IPAD back to my PC.  If so, what would I do?  thanks

    The rest of my music is still on my iPad, so how do I get it from my iPad to the computer, and back on my phone? All my music is sitting there safely on my iPad, but whenever I try to sync it with my computer the only option I get is to wipe the iPad and replace it with the files on the computer---which is only a fraction of what I had originally. How do I fix this?? It even deleted my playlists, and I now only have some 200 songs left out of what used to be over 1000!

    It can not do that all by itself.
    When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
    You explicitly said 'Yes'.
    You can't undo that.
    No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
    Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

    Have been taking photos with my Ipad and sending them to email address and FB.  For some reason it will now send photos to FB but not my email address.  What could be the problem?

    Does your email provider have a limit on the total file size allowed on their server? It could be that emails with photos send in the past are still on your email server. They might even be in the servers trash folder. If the total MB of those emails exceeds the amount allowed then no additional emails can be received. Try using a web mail page to check and edit what's on the email server.

  • How do I add photos to the camera roll that were not taken on my iPad? I imported photos to my iPad from my camera, and now I want to add them to my camera roll which is sync'ed with Dropbox as a back up mechanism.

    How do I add photos to my camera roll that were not taken one my iPad? I have iMported photos from my camera to my iPad. Theses photos are in the imported photo album. I want to move these photos to my camera roll but can't figure out how to this. I want them in my camera roll because that is the album that syncs with Dropbox where I want to backup my photos. Thank you for your help.

    Consider using sshfs to mount your Pi from your Linux boxes.  It's much easier to configure and manage than samba.  It sounds like you already have your Windows machines mounting your Pi so Samba is doing its job in that respect.
    More info on sshfs in the Wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sshfs
    To help get you off the dime, here's a modified line from my fstab that I use to mount my Pi with:
    gav@PI:/mnt/backup /mnt/rpi/backup fuse.sshfs rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other 0 0
    Subsitute my mount points with yours.
    For a password-less mount:
         ssh-copy-id gav@PI
    after you've set up ssh and generated some keys on your client box.
    Here are some relevant lines from the smb.conf file on my Pi that I use for my one Windows box in the house that might help you with your write permissions:
       security = user
      hosts allow = 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
      guest account = gav
    ; And my share setup:
    [rpi]
       comment = Public Stuff
       path = /mnt
       writable = yes
    ;   printable = no
    ;   write list = @krb
    [torrent_dl]
       path = /mnt/video/torrent_dl
       writable = yes
       create mask = 0770
       directory mask = 0770
       guest ok = Yes
       case sensitive = No
       read only = No
    Hope this helps.

  • Can you sync photos to an iPad from both Aperture and Pictures Folder?  I know there are options for both but I have photos on both Aperture and Pictures Folder that I want to put on my iPad.

    If I select Aperture as the option to sync for photos I can't select photos from the Pictures folder.  Currently I have my photos synced to Aperture but I want to add photos from Pictures Folder.  It doesn't really look like it's possible to add stuff as it would delete my photos from Aperture if I resync with the Pictures Folder.  Really frustrating because I don't want to have to add those photos to my Aperture library as I'm currently moving away from using Aperture to Lightroom.  So all my older photos are in Aperture but most of my newer images are saved in my Pictures Folder.  Thanks for any help with this.

    Hi Lawrence,
    Thanks for that... I thought of that, of adding my iPad Pix as a subfolder of Pictures and syncing to Pictures but I remember many versions of iTunes' ago that I could add folders. Can I still do that or has that option gone? If the option doesn't exist then I suppose I will have to use folders and subfolders.
    The thing is, I have iPad Pix as one folder then another folder of Pictures with various subfolders within it. It's a couple of those different subfolders I want to sync as well as iPad Pix and I don't want the hassle of moving and syncing specific folders etc... it really would be easier if I could sync more than one folder at the same time. Hope it's possible...
    Thanks,
    Maz

  • I am trying to sync my photos to my iPad 2 through iTunes and keeps shutting my computer down?

    Disable any antivirus and firewall software installed on your computer. They can interfere with the update process.

  • Why can't I find and delete photos from my Ipads

    I have deleted all of the photos from my Ipad.  Both Itunes and "storage" on the Ipad report 1.5GB used by photos, but I can't find them or delete them.  What gives?  How do I find and delete these photos?

    Did you also delete them from the Recently Deleted Album in Photos?

  • Transfering calendar and photos from on iPad to another iPad

    Need to transfer calendar and photos from one iPad to another iPad.  I backed up the original iPad 2 to my PC using my iTunes account but when I restored the backup from my PC onto the new iPad 2, the calendar and photos where not transferred.

    If you haven't already set up iCloud on the iPads and turn it on to sync Calendars.
    Copy your photos from one iPad to the computer and sync them to the other iPad.

    To transfer your photos:
    Transfer and erase the Camera Roll:
    Connect the iPad to your computer and launch Image Capture, iPhoto, or Aperture.
    Select your iPad in the Devices list and click "Import all".
    When the import finishes, you can erase the contents of the Camera Roll, if you want. That would be the quickest way, but deleting it on the iPad in the Photos.app would be safer, but more work.
    Delete photos and video clips you synced to your computer using iTunes: Connect your device to your computer and, in iTunes, deselect the photos and video clips you want to remove from your device. Click Apply, and click Sync.
    Delete the Photo Stream contents:
    How do I delete photos from My Photo Stream?
    You can delete photos from your photo stream the same way you delete other photos from your iOS device or Mac. Just select the photos you want to remove, and tap the trash can icon or click Delete. On your PC, select the photos you want to remove from your photo stream, right-click, and then select delete. When you delete a photo from Photo Stream on one device, iCloud will automatically delete it from the Photo Stream album or view on your other devices. Learn more about deleting photos.

  • My desktop hard drive failed. Most of the photos on my IPad were backed up but some were not.

    The only copies I have of some of them are on my iPad. Because they are the only copies I have I want to be certain how I should go about assuring I can get them as they are very important to my wife and me.
    If I reinstall iTunes to my rebuilt computer, will it immediately pull any photos on the iPad over? I'm concerned it's first instinct will be to reset the iPad.
    I'm not using iCloud. In the settings of my IPad I see that there is a Backup option. When I enable this I get a confirmation box. "Your iPad will no longer back up to your computer automatically when you sync with iTunes"
    I'm not sure what this means or if I should be concerned about it. As far as I know my iPad never backed up when I synced.
    Anyway, if I enable ICloud will that transfer the photos on the iPad to the Cloud and allow me to them pull them down to my account?
    Any help would be appreciated. I just want to have a plan before trying anything so as not to risk losing those photos.
    Thanks much,
    Colin

    Photos aren't copied off an iPad via iTunes, that is only used to sync them to the iPad. To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
    To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • Transferring photos from an ipad to macbook.

    I recently synced my ipad to my pc and all my photos and music transferred over.  I no longer have my pc and moved to a macbook pro.  I am trying to move these photos from my ipad to my macbook - and the macbook isn't recognizing the photos.  Also, I am not able to delete the photos off my ipad now.
    I really want to clear them out because they're taking up way too much space.  Any ideas on how I can sync these photos to my macbook without losing them?

    To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer on the iPad which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
    You should then be able to delete them from the iPad via your Mac's iTunes : select the iPad on the left-hand side of it, and on the right-hand side on the Photos tab either chose the photos that you want to sync from it instead (only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad), or if you want to just remove them then select and sync an empty folder.

  • Unable to sync photos to my iPAD

    I am unable to sync photos with my iPad.  Both computer and iPad have the most recent updates.  Only a few photos sync.  I have plenty of memory.

    Nothing more to add other than what you mean is that you have plenty of storage capacity. If you truly have plenty of memory - you should remember this from now on ...memory would be the RAM and storage capacity is the amount of space available on the device for you to add apps, movies, books, etc.

  • Can I store photos from my ipad 3?

    Can I store photos from my ipad 3 on icloud and delete them from the ipad to save memory?

    You can find a way to do that with shared photostreams, but that is not what I would recommend. I d rather you imported those pictures to your computer.
    If you decide to do it your way share photostream with yourself using these instructions

  • If you delete a photo on your iPad is it deleted in the cloud as well?

    Where can I send photos from my ipad/iphone for storing and not have them deleted if I delete them at the source?

    The camera roll photos are the originals, which are the ones that are imported to your computer as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  (Photo stream photos on your iOS devices have reduced resolution.)
