i had to consolidate my library to transfere my music on itunes to my new computer(which didn't work, so i still use the old computer) and when i pulg it back into my old computer, i can't get the pictures that were once on my ipod to show up on my ipod, even tho it says they're on there!! please help me

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. I'm not sure which of the recovery tools can do photos offhand, but unless you chose the option to include full res. originals when you loaded the device then what they extract will be fairly low res. If you did opt for full res. then they should be visible on the iPod's drive when viewed in disk mode.

I am trying to download photos from my iPod to either an external hard drive or my computer, which has a Windows operating system. The iPod should function like an external hard drive, right? iTunes syncing to iPods (that are not iPod touch) mostly goes one way, from computer to iPod. For photos, at the time you synced the photos to the iPod, there is a setting that you needed to have enabled in iTunes if you later want to recover them from the iPod. This setting is on the iPod's Photos tab in iTunes (where you set up photo syncing). There is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.
IF that checkbox was checked, you can Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab, and find the full-res photo files in the Photos folder on the iPod. Otherwise (if setting not checked), when iTunes syncs the photos to the iPod, iTunes converts the images to a very low-resolution version that is optimized to fit the small iPod screen and stores the image data in a single database file (to save storage space). There may be third-party software that can extract separate photos from that database file, but the resulting photos will look bad blown up to computer screen size.

You need to let iTunes handle the transfer in order for the pictures to be viewable on the iPod. iTunes creates specially sized preview images and organizes the pictures & previews as it does for music files. If you put the pictures on manually through Windows Explorer and the iPod hard disk "interface", then you can retrieve the pictures on another computer. But the pictures won't display on the iPod.

I dropped my cracked iPod touch 4th generation in water and now it's just done. Can you backup the iPod? If so then either:
- Restore another iPod touch, iPad or iPhone for that backup
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Well, If you've deleted the photos off your computer, then when you connect your iPod, they'll probably be automatically deleted off of it.
Try this, though:
Open iTunes.
Go to "Edit -> Preferences -> iPod". Without the iPod connected, it should say "No iPod connected". Leave this Preferences windows up and running; I believe this may prevent iTunes from seeing your iPod as a connection.
Then, if you want to copy photos from your iPod to your computer, then see these programs:
iPodPhotoCopy
CopyPod Photo
Then, move those photos that you have transferred to your computer to a new folder, for example. Name the folder, then add the other photos that you previously were wanting on your iPod into this new folder.
In Edit -> Preferemces -> iPod -> Photos, select this new folder to sync to your iPod ("Browse" for location).

Photos synced from computer to ipod are one way only - computer to ipod. As they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there.

My Mac crashed last Friday. First timeIs there any way to get my photos FROM my iPod Touch back into my new hard drive. The iTunes sync only goes one way from the computer to the iPod.
It syncs the photos taken with the iPod (really an old iPhone 3G without phone service) but not the folders which I synced from the old hard drive to the iPod over the past year.

Yes, my computer was backed up. for reasons way too complicated to go into here, these particular folders were not part of the backup.
