Photos pages only working in Safari, not IE or Firefox

I have a website with quite a few photos pages on a site, and they only seem to load reliably in Safari, and not in Firefox or IE. A reload will sometimes fix the problem. Has anyone else seen behavior like this? An example of this is:

You can click on the gallery link on the nav bar, and see links to many other pages that behave the same way.

I have the same issue. With Firefox 3b5 the page referenced above (original post) doesn't show properly, no pictures show at all... the whole "album" is just ignored. However, it looks fine in Safari and Firefox 2.0.14. So, there is some issue with Firefox 3b5 and iWeb's album page. I have the same problem with my page at http://www.fci-tv.com As far as I know my page works on Windows with IE (whatever version comes with XP).

I have created a website in iWeb for my school. All pages open and function correctly in Safari, for either Mac or Windows, but not other browsers. One of the pages in question is: http://www.grovemedia.k12.ok.us/Information.html The "Parent" page a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried deleting and recreating the pages with no success.

Input type="image" only works in Safari, but not IE or Firefox?

Having accidentally discovered a form on a site I am working on was only working in Safari, I've just spent about five hours retracing my steps, before eventually discovering that the code that was making the form fail was my submit code.
The page I was looking at had quite a bit of validation, CAPTCHA code and some jQuery to style some drop downs, so I figured something there was the issue.
But it turned out just to be the submit button.
I've just tried it on my contact page, and its failing in Firefox (Mac) too (and so I assume IE as well.)
Should this work, or is using input type="image" on a form submit button a big no no?
This code works:

But this code does not work (except, it seems, in Safari):

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

Any ideas why Smart Zoom only working in Safari and not TextEdit, etc.

I like using Smart Zoom, but it only works in Safari for me. Is anyone else experiencing this or have a suggestion for fixing this? I thought it was supposed to work in TextEdit and some other Apple programs.

System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing. Is Zoom turned on?
Also look in System Preferences > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom tab > uncheck Smart zoom
Or System Preferences > Mouse > Smart Zoom.
EDIT: Just tested Text Edit and it won't respomd to a SZ

just installed Lion on MBP, 2 finger swipe back and forward only work for safari & ical, not even finder?

Change the setting for Swipe Between Page to "Swipe with two or three fingers" works for me in Finder now :-)

Swiping to go back only works in safari

Swiping with three fingers to go back or forward was a gesture I used a lot in Snow Leopard. Now its with two fingers, AND it only works in safari. I don't know if this is true, but it seems like there are fewer gestures in Lion than in Snow Leopard.

I too would like to know how to do this in that I hate this feature. Trying to read something and swiping left and right just interrupt what you are doing because you bed up leaving the page. One thing I hated about Google chrome which I woulda used as my default browse had it not been for that annoying feature. Now safari adopted it and I hate it. I can't seem to find a way to disable it. If you can't, is there another browser in App Store that doesn't do that. I know there is opera mini browser out there, but it is a simple browser that disables some scripts, so I don't want that either. Help!

HT5113 Course Manager only works in Safari; it's broken in Firefox and Chrome. Is this intentional?

Course Manager is not working in Firefox or Chrome. Is this intentional on Apple's part?

While trying to use Course Manager from Chrome, a message appears that says only Chrome or Safari can be used. I'm in Chrome, so that's out, despite the message that it works. That leaves only Safari, which Apple hasn't updated for Windows since May of 2012, despite many known vulnerabilities.
Looks like I need to keep a Mac on hand, thanks Apple.

When I look at my website ( http://www.visitnafplio.net ) in Safari, it displays the pages just as I made them in iWeb, but in Firefox stuff keeps moving to the wrong pages.
I've asked a couple of friends to check it on their computers, and they have the same result.
Can someone please tell my why, and if there is anything to do about this? The page is in Norwegian, but if you check for instance this page http://www.visitnafplio.net/visitnafplio.net/Nafplio/Nafplio.html
you can se that the date under each sub-heading is hidden in Safari (as they should be), but not so in Firefox.

The problem is mainly that I have added small squares in the background colour to hide the date from the blog entries (it is not a blog). These squares don't stay in their right place in Firefox. If I could hide the dates in some other way the problem would be solved.
I see other people in the forum are having the same problem, and the answers (something about .ccs-files) was totally Greek to me. I can't even find these files.

Notification Plug-in only working in IE (not Firefox or Chrome)

Just in case anyone else encountered this ...
I downloaded and installed the Dynamic Action Plug-in, Notification,
from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/apex-plug-ins-182042.html.
I imported into Shared Objects plug-ins for an application, created a dynamic action using this plug-in,
and it works great. In IE only (IE 8). When I run the application from Chrome or Firefox (3.6.13),
the notification does not display.
When I run the demo notification application in firefox or chrome, the notification works - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=654321:401:0
I can not find any information specifically on browsers.
I use APEX 4.0.1.00.03 in Oracle 11.1.0.7 and develop on Windows 2003 server.
I do use javascript (calling htmldb_Get) to get a value from the database to display in the Notification,
so I suspect the problem may be there.
Any ideas why only IE works would be appreciated. Is there any place in APEX I needed to specify browsers?

I stripped out all the local database access and hardecode a value for this problem. When you click the button "Check Employee's Classification", it calls a javascript function in the HTML Header called checkClass. That changes the item displayed in the notification and fires the dynamic action, Employee Class. Works great in IE, but that's it. I suspect it's the javascript that firefox or Chrome doesn't recognize.

ActiveSync only works for Contacts, not for Calendars and Email

So it seems that the ActiveSync is only working partially for me... When syncing with our company's OWA, my Contacts sync fine (though some create duplicates). However, the Calendar doesn’t sync at all, and the Email only syncs the folder structure, but none of the emails in them. When I attempt to sync the individual folders it gives me the same error message - “connection to the server failed”. This is a bit puzzling, as it is able to connect to the server just fine to get the contacts and the email folders.
I have already talked to the resident geniuses at the apple store and the exchange admin people - all are clueless... And did I mention, we don't have IT dept. to fix this... Please let me know if anyone is experiencing a similar problem or can suggest a way to fix it...

I am also having this problem. I was on 2.0.1 with the original iphone and had activesync working just fine. Contacts, calendars and email were all working.
On Friday I made the critical mistake of deciding to upgrade to 2.0.2. My phone was a brick for a little more than a day. I finally seemed to figure out the magical incantations required to get it restored and syncing with itunes (it was in a loop of only wanting to restore my phone).
Since getting it back into a relatively normal mode of operating on 2.0.2 I have not been able to get push email via ActiveSync working (it was working fine, no changes on the Exchange side of things). The only thing that changed was my upgrading to 2.0.2.
Since then I am back to the pre-2.0 email capabilities (I can create a seperate account on the phone and make imap work, but I don't get push with that).
I sure hope Apple is reading this and taking steps to correct it. I have no idea how to restore my phone to the way it was before I made the mistake of upgrading to 2.0.2 I should just have waited for 2.1

Viber only working with wifi, not with 3g

Hi,
Can anyone explain why viber works on my iphone nomatter if im in a wifi hotspot or in the middle of no where, yet my wife has to be in a wifi hotspot for it to work on her iphone? we both have 3gs iphones, both running os4.3.
Could it be as simple as a setting?

Hi, i have an ipnone 4 and im with Optus 3G. Viber is only working for me (send texts and make calls) ONLY when im on wi-fi. If im not connected to a wifi connection it will not send any texts or make a call. If i try send a text it turns into a red dot with an exclamation mark near my comment and then it comes up with a message saying "An internet connection is required to set up Viber. Check your connection and try again. The request timed out."

HTTP Live Streaming only works in Safari

I have used the facillity in the share menu to export for HTTP Live streaming. I have uploaded the reulting directory to my wordpress site and can get the video to work in Safari. When I check itwith other browsers though it does not appear. Is there a reason for this?

Because your not live streaming. But seriously, it's a specialized codec you shouldn't use unless a client requires it. Use plain old H.264 for the web.
