Photos reflecting date yr 2012 on several photo bathes and events
Machine : iMac 21.5Inch 2.7Ghz Intel Quad Core
OS: 10.7
iPhoto : 9.1.5
Total Photos : 135k
Issues: (5-10)events and (300-500) photo showed as date 2012 (future yr)
Verification : checked camera dates are correct, individual photo dates are correct, checeked system clock.
Solution tried : Adjust Date & time - no avail
: Batach change (Date) - no avail
: Rebuild library Repair permission - no avail
Conclusion : Hearder still reflects yr 2012 no matter what i does, tried to find iphoto.plist, but release 10.7 remove it.
Seeking for solution urgently.

I downloaded iMacsoft to transfer music, books, etc. But it will only transfer photos in my iPhone's Camera Roll.Are these photos on your iPhone? Can you actually see them? If so, then iCloud should see them as well. All else fails, plug in the iPhone via a USB cable into the new Mac and iPhoto will launch showing you what photos you can import in.
Again, the old photos in question MUST be on the iPhone (i.e. you at one time sync'd your entire photo library to your iPhone, which to my knowledge also makes it available to the iCloud backup if you have enough room).
No, it is not easy to get synced photos back to the Mac. An iCloud backup does not include the synced photos nor the Photo Stream photos. See:

One way to save the synced photos back to the Mac is to save them to the Camera Roll. This requires extra space on the device and much tapping, because it is not easy to save all photos at once to the Camera Roll. It would be easier with iPhoto iOS. Here you can share the the synced photos to iTunes and then save them using iTunes photo sharing on your Mac. In iPhoto you can select ranges of photos to share - much less tapping required. I need instruction and not understanding Photos. When I put photos from my Canon Camera through the Apple Connector - SD Card Reader, the photos are displayed in the Photo App. They are duplicated in many areas: Photos, PhotoStream, Albums, and Events. Is this the way Apple does this? Can I just have photos in one place in the app? BTW: my PhotoStream setting is on on the iPAD4 and on my iPHONE 5. Should I turn off? If they are duplicated in all areas, are they taken up space on my iPAD?Please advise.
Also, can I delete multiple photos on my iPAD4 without selecting each one? I don't seem to see a Select All option. Also, I am not sure when I see this dialogue box on the iPAD4, but it seems I only get Delete Everywhere instead of just Delete. Why? Is there a setting I need to know about.
When I connect my iPAD4 through the hardwire to my PC, can I just create a folder and copy my photos on my iPAD4 to my PC. They will not remove them from the iPAD4, correct?Basically within the photo app, there are sever views available, each having a different purpose, but only one file per image (at least I'm fairly certain that's how it works). Start off with the Photos section of the user guide (link below). It may not answer all of your questions, but will give you a good starting place.

Master data services 2012 domain trust issues
hi,
we have a Master Data Services 2012 installation within one domain and the users exist within another domain. This has a selective trust both ways.
the behaviour that we are seeing in MDS 2012 when adding users to the master data services from the other domain we are getting no exact match found for the users that exists when adding users in; these users are from the domain that MDS does not reside
in but there is a trust in place.
we have given authentication permissions to all users requiring access to the server that MDS resides on.
the question is what steps are necessary to allow MDS to operate in two domain environment. We have other applications that function in this manner but MDS is causing issues.

thanksI don't have the exact multi domains environment to try it on. But I tried on mutil forest domains. It seems working fine.
When add the user, the format is like [DomainName\]UserName
When add the user for another domain, the domain name is required.
There is a trust between our two domains (which works because I can log into SQL Server effortlessly with SSMS). However, when I try to add a user from the other domain, I get the error
"No exact match was found for domain\user"
It seems that MDS really doesn't like trusts.

What happened to the thumbnail photos for an event? Previously when I wanted to transfer an event to a specific folder all I needed to do was drag the thumbnail. If there were multiple events, I only needed to pick the one I wanted and drag it. Simple and it worked very well. If there was an event with several, I only neede to drag the one thumbnail and it was done. Now I need to drag each individual photo to the new folder. Sometimes that could mean 10, 20 or more. Doing one at a time is can be a very slow process. If there are events that need to be split, it can be even slower. Any positive ideas will be greatly appreciated.
You need to follow iPhoto terms since we only know what you tell us
what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)

Check, if you have the "Primary Only" option enabled. Then keywords will only be applied to the "Primary Image":

Adjust Date and time for all Photos in an event?
Would some one tell me how to adjust the date and time for all photos in an event. For some reason when I change the date, it only changes the first photo in the event and I am left with a range of dates in the event, but I would rather they all have the same date in the event. Any thoughts or ideas?
How are you selecting the photos and changing them? How much of a change are you trying to make? A total change of date and time or just a delta change either plus or minus?
Using the Photos->Adjust Date and Time... menu option will apply the time/date difference to all of the photos in the Event if you click on the Event icon in the Photos mode or the Event mode. -
I have a problem when updated the new release of iphoto version(11 jun 2012). After that I cannot open any photo libraries and program is error. I must to force quit iphoto window. There are any fixed bug update.
If you have no photos:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library' and start.

hi icant sync my photos from itunes to iphone ..it shows copying 1 out of something but afterwards it stops and no photos in iphone ..i formatted several times ..and from my utunes i have sync my brothers iphone it synced prefectly only its problm of my iphone .......i have also deleted the ipod photo cache but still the same

Add Flagged Photos To Selected Event / Select By Date
So I am having to bite the bullet and re-import all of my referenced pics to try and consolidate them eventually into my managed library. I start with my first folder, import it, select the 103 photos in the Event with a view of then going to the existing Event, Adding Flagged Photos to it and then deleting out the older non-linked ones. Except I cannot seem to get the Add Flagged Photos function to activate in any circumstances, it is simply greyed out and nothing I do seems to want to activate it.
Is this a bug or an odd change in functionality from 09?
While we are at it, another function I used a lot in 09 was searching a photo by date from the search box in the bottom bar. I would select date, hold down the Alt button to select all pics on that day i.e. 13/12 and iPhoto would display them. It doesn't now, I follow this exact same flow and it will display all pictures that are December pics instead of the single day specific ones.When I search by date it shows the day specific day clicked - if I "alt" click it deletes the year and shows all photo on the date in any year
A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.

I recently moved all my photos from iphoto to Aperture. I had several iphoto books and cards in my project file. When everything was moved to Aperture I can't find any of the books or card projects. Are they gone or can they be restored?
1 - without specifics I have no idea how to help
2 - the question was "are you trying to use them in iPhoto? " - it sounds like you are - to do so you will have to export them from Aperature and import into iPhoto
3 - for information on how to use them in Aperature then you need to ask about how to use Aperature in the Aperature forum as it does not involve iPhoto

I created an album from photos taken off three different cameras. I am sorting the photos manually and when I close iPhoto, the photos move back either by date or by camera import time. How can I keep the photos from moving around?

Can't change date for photos in one event?
So i have my events set up to view by date, with the most recent events at the top. But there is one event that featured photos from a wide range of dates. I selected all the photos in that event, and "batch changed" them all to be yesterday's date. Seemed to work, but when i return to Events View, it is a the very bottom of all my events and gives me a date range of Oct 1999 to August 2007. I've gone thru and highlighted every photo in the event and they all seem to have the august 2007 date. I hit "show hidden photos" and found none.
Any thoughts or suggestions? (I'd rather not go to manual view of events, because i like the latest import loading at the top)
thanks!This is (IMHO) a bug.
Once you have the dates correct the only way currently to fix the event dates is to select one photo and create a new event then move the remaining photos to the new event -- it will have the corrrect dates.
You also should report to Apple -- iPhoto menu ==> Provide iPhoto Feedback -- hopefully they are busy fixing a bunch of these (minor) items
