Photos showing in memory after they have been deleted

I have an iPhone 5s and have synced photos in iTunes to import my photos, and then deleted a few hundred pics.
Currently, my phone shows that I have 116 pictures, and 0 video - but when check usage, it shows 15.9GB still being used by photos.
I have connected the phone to my computer and in iTunes done a backup, and a restore iPhone.  This did not correct the issue.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Thank you in advance.

In most cases, no. Unless you are experiencing a specific problem with an app, you really don't need to close anything. Should you need to, pvonk explained it nicely.
Best of luck.

    I am using Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2.  Does anyone know a way to restore photos after they have been accidentally deleted from the catalog?

    Hi,
    Unfortunately, this forum is not about Photoshop Starter Edition.  I recommend you take your question to the Starter Edition forum at:

  • HT4528 How do I recover pictures after they have been deleted from iPhone 5???

    These are pictures that have been deleted the same day that they were taken!!!!  And I didn't have a chance to back them up on iTunes or the iCloud.

    You can solve this problem by this method.
    You may need a third party easy iPhone pictures recovery tool to recover your pictures.
    http://easy-iphone-recovery.blogspot.com/iphone-recovery-resource.html
    This tool can help you to recover the lost pictures directly from your iPhone. Please have a try.
    If it works, try to pay for it to get the full recovery feature.

  • HT201302 If i delete photos on my iphone after they have been downloaded to my mac will they be sync and delete on my computer??? Silly question??? HELP ; )

    I have connected my iphone to my mac and my photos have been transfered.... The option to delete my photos on my phone has come up....If i go ahead and delete the photos on my phone will my photos on my ipad be deleted?  I guess my question is will i loose those photos in any way when i delete them from my iphone?  Thanks.

    It depends on what you mean by "backed to your Mac." If you have just done a backup of the phone to the Mac via iTunes, then you should NOT delete them from your phone since the only way you would be able to access the photos would be by doing a complete restore of the backup to the phone and that would wipe out anything more current on the phone.
    If you copied the photos to your Mac via a USB cord as described in Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support then you can safely delete the photos from the phone. Note that you should be sure to have a good backup plan in place for your Mac so that if something were to happen to it you wouldn't lose the photos.
    If the photos were sent to iPhoto via Photo Stream you can delete them from the phone if you are certain that the photos have been copied from the Shared - iCloud section of iPhoto into the Library - Events section of iPhoto. That can be done manually or you can open iPhoto and go to the menu named iPhoto > Preferences > iCloud > and insure that there is a checkmark in front of Automatic Import.

  • RMAN 8i - V$BACKUP_SET still holds records after they have been deleted

    Hello,
    I am using Oracle 8i version 8.1.7.0 on Windows 2000. TSM (Tivoli) is our storage manager. I am attempting to clean up backups that I consider obsolete. I am NOT using a catalog for the repository. My criteria is:
    1) List the backups to delete using -
    report obsolete redundancy 2 until time 'SYSDATE-7' device type 'sbt_tape';
    2) I use the RECIDs listed on the report and issue -
    CHANGE BACKUPSET nn DELETE;
    RMAN acknowledged the delete worked and the report command used in step 1 no longer lists the backups. Good so far. In order to cleanup backup_sets fo archivelogs I list the "obsolete" logs using the following SQL:
    select recid, backup_type, completion_time
    from v$backup_set a
    where backup_type = 'L' and a.completion_time < (select min(b.completion_time)
                        from v$backup_set b
                             where backup_type = 'D');
    My logic here is that any backup_set of logs completed before the oldest database backup is no longer needed. The problem is that even though the "report obsolete" doesn't list them, they still appear in the V$BACKUP_SET view. This foils my method for determining the backup sets of archivelogs that I can delete. Why would the deleted database backup sets still appear in V$BACKUP_SET? Please remember I am using only the controlfile and NOT a catalog for the repository. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    You can use the crosscheck command ...
    This will remove th old entries i guess...

  • Can I keep photos on my iTouch even after they've been deleted from my Mac?

    I sync photos onto my iTouch, but due to limited space on my MacBook I periodically backup then delete all the photos on my Mac. What then happens is that next time I sync my iTouch all the photos that were on my iTouch disappear.
    If I uncheck the "sync photos" checkbox, it then deletes all the photos on the iTouch.
    I want to be able to put photos on the iTouch and leave them there, and later add new ones. Is this possible?
    Is there anyway to keep the old photos on the iTouch even though they've been deleted from my Mac?

    No.  The only way to retain them on the iPod after they have been deleted from the computer is to not sync.  YOu also can;t add new one .

  • How do i get my contacts back after they've been deleted form iCloud

    How do I get my contacts back after they have been deleted on my phone from iCloud?

    Re-enter them.
    Once they have been deleted from iCloud they are gone from all devices that sync to that iCloud account.

  • Rotated pictures come out blank after they have been exported.

    Pictures scanned from Epson 700 photoscanner to i Photo looks fine in iPhoto. No problem editing in IPhoto, but the rotated pictures came out blank after they have been exported. The original picture is exported okay. I have tried all the repair options in iPhoto to no success.
    Any suggestion how to fix the blank pictures or do I have to scann them all again?

    Still I have to scan every picture again
    No you don't. You can change the colour profile to sRGB with a script. Search this forum. Old Toad has one that he created and you can download it.

  • HT201077 Is there a way to delete files locally, on iPad, after they have been backed up in iCloud, without losing any files?

    Is there a way to delete files locally, on iPad, after they have been backed up in iCloud, without losing any files? Because iCloud is seeming like it actually doesn't back up anything.. Just clogs up all storage space on every device with duplicate images/videos. I am looking for a delete when backed up feature. Does that exist?

  • If I delete a contact in my iPhone will this contact be notified they have been deleted if they also have an iPhone and iPad?

    No worries, it will not broadcast your deletion at all.

  • Itunes continues to try and sync TV shows after they've been deleted

    I deleted a season of TV shows from my Apple TV after I had finished watching them. itunes tried to sync these to my computer, but there wasn't enough room on the HD to do this, so I kept cancelling the sync. It is still trying to sync them even though now the files have been deleted. Every time I open itunes, it tries to do this. They're not on the ATV, and they are no longer referenced in itunes under video - TV shows. Why is it still trying to sync and how can I make it stop?

    I freed up some space on my HD and downloaded each episode one at a time. When they were complete, I deleted them. It took a while, but they are now gone for good. No explanation why it would try to sync things that don't exist as they were deleted from my apple TV months ago.

  • I just want to organize my photos to albums and not appear anywhere else.  Photos appear in Photos and no indication if they have been dealt with.

    I want to load my photos onto my MacBook Pro, sort them into albums and not have them appear in other locations.  If I go to Photos all of the photos in the computer seem to appear.  I can't tell if they have been put in an Album or have been edited.  Is there a simpler system that I can use.

    iPhoto works similarly to iTunes. In iTunes, every track is in the Library and each playlist is a sub-set of the Library.
    So, in iPhoto, every image is in the Library and each Album is a subset of the Library. So, your photos will always be visible in the Library and in any album you use them in. That - of course - means that any image can ne used in a multitude of albums, and use no extra disk space. So that shot of your son, daughter and their puppy can be in the Son album, Daughter album, Puppy Album and even a favourites album.
    Photos and Events are simply two views of the Library - two doors to the same room as it were.
    It's easy to find photos not in an Album - with a Smart Album:
    File -> New Smart Album
    Album -> is not -> any
    and another will find Photos not editoed:
    File -> New Smart Album
    Photo -> is -> Edited.
    As you edit a photo, or add it to an album, they will be dropped from the Smart Album.

  • My voice mail messages are not appearing as they are left. Often no voicemails show up until 4 weeks after they have been left

    I am having trouble with my voice mail on the iPhone. The voicemails are not appearing until 3 even 4 weeks after they are left by a caller. Last night 10 voice messages came through all at once, one left before Thanksgiving. Is this an iPhone issue or an issue with the carrier?

    I'm having the same issue. It began three or four days ago. I'd notice that I'd miss a call but the person wouldn't leave a message.
    Two days later, suddenly three or four new voicemails will pop up from the past couple of days. The time stamp on the messages is correct-- it will show that the caller left the vmail a day or two before.
    Also, in what has to be a related problem, some of the voicemails appear to be corrupted and cannot be played.
    I have a 4s and my software is up-to-date. I have made no material changes to my phone, other than automatic software updates to explain this.
    It's enormously frustrating and as a job seeker, I can't afford to miss voicemails. Does anyone know if this is the phone or the carrier (AT&T)?
    Any help and input will be enormously appreciated.

  • Preview: double-click doesn't open files AFTER they have been modified

    Since a few weeks (maybe since I upgraded to OS 10.6.6 ?) Preview doesn't open files any more by double-clicking AFTER I have modified and saved them. They open when I drag them to the dock icon of Preview.
    For instance, photos downloaded from a camera open by double-clicking them. However, if I rotate or crop them and then save, Preview doesn't open them any more but shows two subsequent error messages: (1) "The application can't be found", (2) "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)".
    I found one workaround: when you close and reopen the folder in which these files are, they open again by double-clicking.
    Quicklook works fine.
    Looks like a bug in OS 10.6.6. Any other fixes?

    In the Finder, select one of the image files you want to open with Preview. Choose "Get Info" from the contextual menu or the File menu. In the "Open with" section, choose Preview from the pulldown menu if it's not already selected. If it is selected, choose another application (any other), then re-select Preview. Click the "Change All" button and close the dialog.
