Photos synced with itunes will be removed

How disappointing to find iicloud Photo Library showing the subject upon turning it on !!
any idea how can I upload my iPhoto library to icloud?

OK. Deep breath.
Until you set up me.com, the iTunes INFO page for your iPhone lets you set up the sync with Outlook. Once you set up me.com, it doesn't let you do it anymore. No options. It just refers you to the iPhone with this: "over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iphone"
So you go to the iPhone and try to turn off me.com syncing, so you can get iTunes to sync with Outlook once more, like it offered to before you signed up for me.com. Except it threatens to delete all your calendar entries and contacts! Seems like you're stuck in a catch 22.
But it's ok. Turns out there's a THIRD place that controls your sync options -- the me.com control panel. (Check under start menu/control panel on your pc)
Apple, PLEASE change the text on the iPhone INFO page in iTunes to refer people to the me.com control panel instead. The me.com control panel lets you tell your iPhone (and me.com) to sync with Outlook. So once it's all synced to Outlook, you can safely tell the iPhone to stop syncing to me.com, and it will delete all your entries on your iPhone (terrible, terrible, terrible way to avoid double entries after syncing) but you'll be able to recover by syncing to Outlook, which you'll have to set up in iTunes.
Phew. BTW, I tried the com.apple.outlook trick to get it to work with Outlook 2002, and it works great! (Everything is under Home Calendar, but isn't visible from the parent "Calendar" entry, which is strange, but oh well).
OK. So I'm backed up to Outlook 2002 now. I feel much better.

  • Will not sync with iTunes, will not sync with iTunes

My disbaled husband has a new iPad, I set it up for him about a week ago by syncing with our iMac. This morning I tried to sync again and got a message that the sync application failed. What am I doing wrong or what should I be doing

Try this. Quit iTunes, restart your computer and reboot the iPad and try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. Then try to sync again.

  • Photo syncing with iTunes

    Hi guys,
I have been stuffing around with iPhoto most of the day sorting photo's, I cant get all my photo's synced to my iPhone.
I rebuilt the Iphoto library and deleted the iPod photo cache.  I have 3 different amounts of photo's showing up, my iPhoto library shows 5157 photo's, iTunes shows 5063 and then once actually syncing it only shows 3906 photo's to be synced.  The screen shot is below.
I'm all my software is up to date, iTunes 11.0.1, iPhoto 9.4.2 going to my iPhone 5 running IOS 6.1

The same way you put them there.  The sync process.
Deselect them in itunes and sync:

  • Completely not understanding photo sync with itunes .. please help!

With my old iphones, when i plugged in the iphone, the computer would automatically make folders with photos that I took (and there'd be a folder for each date that I took photos), which was very helpful. With iphone 4, that is not happening ... How do I get that to happen? Thanks

You need to check your autoplay settings, on your machine, for iPhone 4. Also setup your "Import Settings" to automatically make folders with photos.

Will i be able to listen to music, watch videos and take pictures and sync with itunes without a sim in my locked iphone 5?

You will need a SIM to activate it. There is no way around that. The SIM does not have to be active, but it must be from the correct carrier if the phone is carrier locked. Once activated, it can be removed and used like an iPod touch, but if you ever have to restore or update iOS, you will need the SIM to re-activate it.

  • My brand new iPod Touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes on my Windows Vista computer!  Please help!

I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store.  I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes.  Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?

  • Apple TV 1st Gen + iTunes 10 + Photo Sync (with Aperture 3) = No Sync

I recently started to experience the same issues that others have reported regarding not being able to sync their Apple TV classic (1st generation) with iTunes 10.
I grudgingly disconnected my Apple TV from iTunes which wiped out all the content. Then when I started a new sync, the Apple TV (and my iMac) froze when trying to connect.
So, I disconnected them again, and quickly set the sync preferences to a "Custom" sync. After an hour of playing around with the settings, and turning on (one by one) syncing of video content, music and podcasts, I've narrowed it down ... to Photo syncing with Aperture.
All of the other content that iTunes will let me select, syncs fine. I've re-synced my entire music library, but if I even setup iTunes to sync 1 photo from Aperture to my Apple TV ... freeze-o-matic.
Anyone else run into this issue and/or been able to find a workaround to fix it?

Finally found answer, many thanks to:

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your library has become a secondary (streaming only) library only (it is possible to turn syncing off by ctrl-clicking on the Apple TV listing in the device list and choosing 'Turn Off Syncing" from the contextual menu) and you need to reconnect your library as a primary library.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • 2nd Gen Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download new song

My Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download newly purchased songs.  It is Ipod nano 2nd gen.

If you want to use automatic syncing, you may need to set up or update the iPod's Music sync settings in iTunes.  If the new songs are not included in what gets synced to the iPod, they will not sync.
If the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Select it there, to show its Summary screen to the right.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music, if not already checked. This is the "switch" to enable automatic syncing for songs.
NOTE:  If Sync Music is not already checked, that means the iPod is currently set to Manually manage music.  Setting up automatic syncing will replace the iPod existing content.  If you want to add the new songs manually to the iPod (instead of using automatic syncing), please post back.
If your iTunes library fits on the iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that, select (checkmark) what you want to sync to the iPod from the lists.
One convenient way to set this up is to first create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with ALL of the songs you want on the iPod.  Or you can use existing playlists.  Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selection(s) to the iPod (replacing its existing content).  Going forward, to update the iPod, you can just update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  If you have new songs, add them to a playlist that is synced to the iPod.  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates your iPod with the same changes.

  • I shifted from a windows to a mac.. I want to add songs to my ipod tpuch 4th gen.. but if i try to sync with itunes it says my songs will be replaced by the new songs.. Is there any way that i can have my previous data safe??

i shifted from a windows to a mac.. I want to add songs to my ipod tpuch 4th gen.. but if i try to sync with itunes it says my songs will be replaced by the new songs.. Is there any way that i can have my previous data safe??

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

If you do happen to lose any purchased content, you can always redownload it from the iTunes Store again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for information.

    Thanks Rudegar,
I only synch and do not stream off of my 1st Gen AppleTV
I will try with ethernet but will be a pain in the butt if i can not fix it with wifi for long term fix
I may end up trying to do a named IP address vs DHCP for this appleTV (not sure if i can do both and do not want to remove DHCP as i have a bunch of sensors and other devices that I prefer to dynamically add to the network via DHCP vs. assign each one
Will keep working on other fix options (factory reset, etc.)
    Thanks again

I just Synced My iPhone 6 which had close to 2000 photos to a new computer (windows PC) and synced with iTunes. Now all my previous photos have been deleted which were there on my phone. Please suggest a way to recover those Photos . Thanks
P.S -I have not taken any backup of those photos. So please suggest any software or any other method.

If those photos were part of the camera roll, they were part of the backup as well and you can restore from the latest backup you made on the old computer. After that transfer the photos to the new PC, follow this article: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Then sync again to the new one, which will erase the phone again.
You can also try to copy the backup folder from the old computer to the new one and see if the old backups get recognized, check this article to find the location on your PC:
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
If the photos were not taken with the phone, your data is gone, photos you sync from iTunes to the phone are not included in the backup.

What is the BEST way to delete an app on an iPhone 4S so it will NOT be added back when I sync with iTunes?

To completely remove an app and all of its data, do this: First delete the app on your phone, then in iTunes, under Library, click on Apps, right-click the app you want to delete & select delete, when prompted, move all files to trash, empty your trash. Connect your phone and sync. The app and all of its data will be gone.
