Photos that failed to export? but why?

Hi everyone!
I am having an issue when trying to export photos onto a hard drive. I got a box that said photos that failed to export and listed them. They are jpegs and I am exporting for web. I do have after export option selected to do nothing as it was said in another discussion which worked for that user. It did not help my export so I'm hoping there is another solution. Thank you kindly

Quit or force quit iPhoto.
Select the iPhoto Library in the Finder. By default it is in your Pictures folder.
Ctrl-click or right-click the iPhoto lIbrary. Select "show package contents" from the panel, that will pop up.
Look for a folder named "Importing" or "Import". Remove this folder, but don't touch anything else.
Then launch iPhoto again.

When I open iphoto it tells me that there are photos it failed to import, I tell it not to import them and it tells me where it has put them- however the recovered folders are always empty.

  • Remove photos that are on 3gs but not showing on retreival to computer

I cannot remove photo from a 3gs iphone but the photos do not show when i try to sync on comp

iCloud doesn't back up your music, it only allows you to redownload any music previously purchased from the iTunes for free if you need to.  Your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and can be synced back to your phone in the future if you need to.  To save space by removing music, uncheck the songs in iTunes that you no longer want on your phone and sync it.
Your camera roll photos are included in your iCloud backup, but can't be viewed separately.  They can only be accessed by restoring the entire backup to your phone if you ever need to.  Photo stream photos are only kept in your photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are removed from photo stream but not from any device that already has already received them from your photo stream.  If you want to save space by removing photos, import them to your computer and delete them from your camera roll, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • I realize that change are good but why did u change Notes app?

I understand need of improvement but they need to actually be better. With iOS 7 we receive good apps but why the **** they change Application Notes and mess up good product. Why new Notes are poor because font and background is no good previous was much better much clearer to read. So maybe some day before putting new system u can realize that u don't have to change every thin leave good stuff and work on something else

  • Could some please help me i do not have a iphoto i have photos that have been downloaded but i cant do anything with them can some please help

hello i am very new to apple ,but i,m a little frustrated as  for one thing i dont have iphoto so i cannot work or print photos also i have a applebook pro and whith that i have bought a pre paid mobilebroad band usb the booklet says it is compatable with apple mac, i follow the directions and still i can not get on the net also where do i find the file manager as this is what i need to set it up

    Marie,
iPhoto is available for download from the App Store for $14.99.
A free photo editing app called Picasa is available from Google HERE.
The "file manager" on a Mac is called the Finder.  A finder window may be opened by clicking on the Finder icon on the dock.
Or click on the desktop then got to the Finder menu on the top of the screen and select File - New Finder Window.
You may want to repost your mobile boradband question as a stand alone question.  You may find someone who can answer that one.

  • 70 photos that aren't there, but iPhoto and Bridge say they are

I have an iPhone (first gen) that has a problem. When I plug the iPhone into the computer that it always syncs with, I am unable to get the photos to display correctly in iPhoto.
The computer thinks there are 70 photos on the iPhone that are no longer on the phone.
Both iPhoto and Adobe Bridge report the photos as being on the iPhone. However, those photos are not there. And can't be downloaded or deleted.
But when I plug the same iPhone into a different machine, I see the correct photos and can delete them correctly.
I'm sure there's just some plist that has to be deleted, but I don't know what.

    Hi Mary,
Try resetting the iPhone by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
Also, make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the Mac using the cable that came with it. Then disconnect any other USB devices.
Do the photos show up in the Image Capture? You can find Image Capture in the Applications folder, just launch Finder and click Go(top menu bar)> Applications> Image Capture.
If they don't try rebuilding the iPhoto library as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638

  • Haunted by ghost XSD, that overrules any changes, but why???

    Hi
I seem to have a problem with updating my wsdl file. I'm quite new to this stuff so i don't know if i use the right termes, but here goes nothing.
I am building a collection of webservices which uses a variety of xsd files to determine input and output. When i publish my project to the local server all changes to xsd files is imediatly reflected in the respective wsdl files in which the schemas are used. However one of my XSD files is stucked somewhere in i-don't-know-where. I can modify the file, but when i publish the project to the server nothing happens to the wsdl file. In fact i just tried to delete the file all together and nothing happens. The services that should need the file continues to work and compile and the wsdl( that i access through the overview tab in the browser) is still unchanged.
Does anyone know why this ghost xsd file keeps haunting me?

    Dear Katrina
Thanks a lot for your advice. I'm a little insecure: Is backup at an external harddrive the same quality as backup on DVD's?
    I found this how-to-do-link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
But it doesn't tell me how to IMPORT the library to a new computer.
    Greetings from Denmark
    Lars

  • PHOTO FAILED TO EXPORT MESSAGE

I am not sure what I have done.  I spent hours working on a couple hundred raw files. When I finished I exported the files and now I go back into Lightroom and I can the final work I performed with all the crops and adjustments but I get an error message stating the files are missing or offline.  I cannot find where I exported these files to. My original folder looks in tact.

My original raw files seem to be OK in their folder.  Those are untouched and in their original folder.  I was trying to move the processed files from LR to another folder I created that I was calling "processed raw files".  LR began the export and then a message came up that said 1-100 had not been exported 101-200 had not been exported etc.  I checked the folder I intended for this export to go to and it was empty.  I noticed a folder had been created in my LR Catalogs called "Photos that failed to Export".  I can view these and they appear to be perfectly processed as I left them.  When I move to the Develop module my files display a message that they have either been moved or they are missing.  I have so many hours of work in these files I just hope and pray there is an easy solution to moving these into a folder.

  • Lightroom failed to export

I was running LR2 on a vista machine and everything was working  great.
I moved over to WIN7 32 bit re installed/updates for PC and LR everything was fine until i came to export!
All files are located on internal drives, no problems with missing files etc but say for example: i wanted to export 400 files to a new folder jpeg/resize/ rename, it continues to miss files in the output folder leaving empty files(renamed) and reporting  (photos that failed to export) it might be 30 files or 200, there is no pattern at all.I have tried it with the existing file name/no resizing and different combinations of all the options but istill happens.
I have just moved again to WIN7 64 bit and the same thing is happening , im running a AMD Quad core with 4GB ram (same machine)
Any help would be great as i need to batch rename for clients wedding photos and its driving me mad, i am having to do it in another program and  this is not how it should be.
    Kind regards
    Phil

    Jeff.
Yes its not my most favored program at the moment, the catalogue had priviously  been optimized and all the filters are definitely off but it still does it.
I had a poor work around which was to export the files i wanted in a file with there original filename and keep over writing the empty files until they were all in there, then send them to a program that did actually work and rename etc in there, not practical but worked.
The group of files that has really hacked me off is a wedding done 3 weeks ago with a friend, my 2 Canon cameras were synced and her Nikon was way off! by 1 year and 1 hour so this was just the start of all my problems, i changed all the file times and dates so they were in the correct order within LR but when i came to export i was screwed! I could not mass export/rename etc as it misses multiple files and i could not use my work around method as the whole group of Nikon files would come before mine(due to the file names). The client kept asking about the pictures so i had to sit there and actually rename and export 5-10 files at a time!! and it still would miss the occasional file......The 440 files took hours, but i had to do it!
Thank you for your input be unfortunatly no its nackered some how.

  • Smart Album will not pull in photos that I've rotated

It took SO long to figure out why this smart album was pulling in MOST photos that fit the criteria - but not all. After looking at the original files, I now see that the one's it's excluding are any photos I've rotated in iPhoto (it does not affect those that were automatically rotated on or before the import.
Does anyone have a fix? thanks much!

Well, I haven't done any other edits to the shots, but my guess is that yes, it's the case. I tried reverting the problem pics to their original state and that seemed to fix it. When I rotate them again, they still work in the album...so it's kind of fixed. But if you have to go and hunt down problem photos like that, it defeats the point of a smart album, so i'd call it a workaround only.

  • I have an external hard drive which has my i-photo on it & some movies from i-movie that I have on disk now. But for some reason my ehd has a caution symbol on it & I can't move my event to free up space on my hd so that I can export i-movie events. Help!

I have an external hard drive which has my i-photo on it & some movies from i-movie that I have on disk now. But for some reason my ehd has a caution symbol on it & I can't move my event to free up space on my hd so that I can export i-movie events. Help!

Usually the caution symbol means that it's formatted as a PC compatible format like NTFS or most likely FAT32. For iMovie to use it the ehd must be formatted Mac OS Extended. Then iMovie will show it without the caution symbol and you can drag/drop open any Event/Project from that hard drive.
To find out if it's formatted as PC:
Go to the desktop, holding down the Control key click on that ehd and in the pop-menu choose 'Get Info'
Under Format: It will say whether or not it's Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The only way to undo a PC formatted ehd would be to copy everything off of it first, Erase/Format the drive using Disk Utility in the Applications>Utilities folder on your Mac, choosing the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format in the pull-down menu there.

Chicky, I have searched my computer for "iPod Photo Cache" and 51 folders pop up, plus 3 files (iPodInfo.plist, Photo Database and Image DB Temp.tmp). How do I know which to delete and which to keep? The Apple website page tackling this issue doesn't go into any detail. Thanks yet again.

  • HT201317 I had my photo stream on and my icloud all set up, i just had the screen replaced and they somehow lost all the photos off my phone, but why wont the photo's reload back on to my iphone now that im connected to wifi again, where are all my photos

I had my photo stream on and my icloud all set up, i just had the screen replaced and they somehow lost all the photos off my phone, but why wont the photo's reload back on to my iphone now that im connected to wifi again, where are all my photos???

When photos are added to the photo stream album on a device (either due to a new photo having been taken or having been synced from another device using the stream) they remain in the album.  However, the syncing process involves copying the photos to the photo stream server where they are kept for a maximum of 30 days, up to 1000 photos.  If a device is reset or the stream is turned off or turned back on again (or in your case, the device was repaired), the photos that were on the device's photo stream album are gone and the only ones to appear are those that are currently on the servers (recall the 30 day limit).
If some of your photos are older than 30 days, then they are no longer stored on the cloud and hence are not synced down to the iphone.
Recall, photo stream is just a syncing service, it is not designed as a storage service for photos.  Always sync photos to a computer for archiving.
