Photos uploaded to Picasa after being adjusted in Aperture look washed out.

I imported color pics (RAW and JPEG) from my Nikon D70 to iPhoto. I brought them into Aperture, adjusted the shadows and uploaded them to Picasa (using the Picasa Web Albums Uploader, not the "Aperture to Picasa" plugin. The pictures on Picasa are totally washed out. This doesn't happen when I adjust in iPhoto and upload to the same place. I then downloaded the Kodak (ofoto) uploader. Same thing- washed out, almost gray photos.
Thanks.

  • Photos looked washed out when played through a TV....

I have a new G5 iPod and a 60gig Photo. When plug then into the same TV with the same cable (s-video and audio) the pictures from the G5 look washed out. The iPod Photo colours look "brilliant" and are all but identical to the original digital pictures and when shown on my iMac 20" screen.
Is this because of the video aspects of the G5 and the "corners" cut to get the unit size down (hence no fire wire).
Please advise, I feel like returning this and sticking to the Photo.
    Thank in advance.

It's too late for that now.
IF you had PhotoStream turned on, they may have already uploaded... though you will only find the last 30 days/1000 photos there after you restore.

  • Photos taking up space after being deleted?

I have the iPhone 5c and I plug my phone in and delete all of my pictures about once every 2 months. I went to do it today and after I deleted my all my photos it said that I had 1884 photos, or 3 GB of space being taken up by them. I went on my phone and there are no photos whatsoever in my camera roll or in my recently deleted folder. Why on iTunes and in my Usage in Settings does it say that my photos are taking up so much space?

    Hello gabbylara11,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
This article should help in clearing out space taken up after you have deleted your photos.

  • Mail photo attachment changes format after being sent?

When I take a photo using the iPad camera and send it as an attachment in mail, how can I ensure the photo will maintain the same format after sending it, as it did when I took the photo? Recipients of my email with a portrait photo attachment, will receive the attachment in landscape format. This also happens to photos I've taken and saved previously in photos on my iPad2.
Does anyone know why this happens or how I can prevent it from happening?

    Denis-
I have seen this effect on photos received from an iPhone camera.  I suggest you let Apple know so they can fix it in a future iOS update.  Go to <iPad Feedback>.
When  saved, the side-ways photos seem to end up right-side-up, if that is any consolation.

  • Photos uploaded to ipad won't sync to Aperture

I took some photos while on the road and used the Camera connection to upload them to my iPad 3. When I sync the iPad with my iMac, the photos won't upload to Aperture. I am certain there is a simple explanation and easy fix, but I haven't figured it out yet. Thanks for any suggestions.

After using the Camera Connection Kit and importing the photos to your iPad, you now should be seeing them in an event on the iPad.
When you connect the iPad with an USB cable to your mac and open Aperture, you should see the photos in the Camera Roll and the photos in the events in Aperture's Import panel, to be ready to be imported to Aperture - tested with Aperture 3.4.5 and iPad 3.
With the "Photos.app" on the iPad you could also select the photos in the event and use "Share" to share them to your Photo Stream. But saving to the Camera Roll is not possible.
With the "iPhotos.app" on the iPad you have additional sharing options. You can save the photos to the Camera Roll or to iTunes. Both would be helpful, if you already have edited the photos and want to import the edited versions.
See this support article:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3148 , the paragraph "Import photos to iPhoto or Aperture on your computer" at the end of the document.

  • When printing photos, pictures are missing colors. ( example no blue sky, colors look washed out )

When we print Photos the colors are not clear and the blue is missing in the sky, Pictures look yellow , also sometimes lines appear in Photos. I already ran the cartridge cleaning .

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? It appears you are low on cyan (and/or light cyan depending on your printer model and what cartridges are installed.)

  • Switched to Mac & CS6 and photos washed out - Please Help

    Hello,
I'm new to photography but taking every chance I can to learn and slowly upgrade my tools.  I recently switched from a PC(CS3) to Macbook Pro(CS6).  Since doing so, I am having a huge problem. My photos show up exactly as I want them to on my Mac, in and out of Photoshop, but look washed out almost everywhere else, including the web, on PC's and in print(Shutterfly).  There are a few exceptions like facebook, but still not all of the photos show up the same quality as what I saw on my Mac.
I thought I did a good job of calibrating my Mac and I'm not doing anything different in PS, but I'm completely lost on what could be causing this.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated because all my PS books and google searches have left me with no answer.
I can upload one of my jpg's so you can see what I'm seeing off my Mac if needed.
    Thanks,
    Rachel

    Hi Trevor,
Thank you for coming to my rescue.
I couldn't upload my original jpg because they are 5mb+, so I took printscreens off of one of the PC's that look awful, but once I moved them over to this Mac, they looked fine.  I know the PC is not the best and is pretty old, but other photographer's pictures look fine on it, especially compared to mine.  So I'm not sure how these will come out on your screen, but on my Mac they look the same as my originals.
To answer your questions, I use RAW files as Adobe RGB and convert them to sRGB before saving as jpg for end use.  I have also tried using RAW as sRGB right off the bat and then saving as jpg for end use.  I do not edit from jpg's, only RAW normally.
Could explain your last sentence further: "If your histogram has a flat line at the begining and/or its end, then that would result in a flat looking image, and is easily fixed in ACR."
    Thank you,
    Rachel

  • Why is Color Washed Out after making DVD from FCP

I took a 3 minute corporate video from FCP (shot SD, NTSC DV) and compressed from the timeline in Compressor (3.01) to DVD best 90 minutes. When I burned the DVD in DVDSP (4.2) and played it in a stand alone DVD player with a JVC production monitor it looked washed out. It looks nothing like it does in FCP or DVDSP.
Any idea what is going on?

Yes to the monitor. I shot the video with a Panasonic HVX200 to P2 cards, downloaded and color corrected on Color. Viewed on two production monitors: A JVC CRT and a new Panasonic 26" LCD (LH2600W) production monitor which is fed from a Kona Card via SDI. My Apple 30" monitor, which I edit on is color calibrated with a Spyder calibrator.
I have played the DVD on the 30" and it looks washed out, even after comparing it to a QT movie from the timeline and played on the 30". Something seems to be happening when the DVD is burnt. The mpeg2 file when played in the inspector in Compression looks good too.
This is weird, since I have never had this problem before, but this is the first use of the new Compression.

  • Why do my photos in "photos" look so washed out compared to iPhoto?

I don't like "PHOTOS," and I don't know why Apple came out with it for OS10. My pictures look washed out compared to how they look in iPhoto  I can't just click on a photo and see it in full screen. What am I missing?

I took them with various cameras. But that isn't important. I'm comparing how the same photos look in Photos and how they look in iPhoto. They look better in iPhoto.

  • Playbook displaying my photos:- washed-out, reds and greens look faded,

Hello x Im new here just got my Playbook
    Can anyone help with this.
Two weeks ago I bought a Blackberry Playbook from Simply Electronics over the internet simplyelectronics.net. The website was in english money, union jack icons plus english phone number. I phoned customer services about an issue just to check the firm out, then went ahead with my purchase and received it in four working days.
I have since found out, like many other people who ordered from them, that Simply Electronics is in some other country - I do not know if it's China or U.S.A. I would never have known if I had not looked them up on the net for reviews. They seem to have changed their website now to American dollars.
That is not the essential problem though, this is:-
The Blackberry Playbook, though superb, slick and working fine in all ways, has a problem with displayment of colour photographs. The colour is washed out, particularly reds and greens. Photos which look vibrant on my Sony Xperia phone and on my computer, look very jaded on this tablet, although the resolution and clarity is superb. It's not just the saturation that is poor. There is a colour bias.
I am a photographer and I primarily got this tablet specifically for showing photos to people (taken with my Canon SLR camera and my Sony cameraphone). It is now gutting for me to see the vibrant reds coming up as a burnt orange or browney red. Grass looks washed out and not lush as it was in the photo.
I do believe there is a fault with this Playbook.
Do you know if this is a known problem or issue with the Blackberry Playbook or with Tablets in general. Do you know what I could do about it? Do you know how I could get in touch with Blackberry to tell them about it.
Returning it to SimplyElectronics if they are in another country would be expensive and I may just get another Playbook with the same or a different fault - too much hassle.
I do not know what my best course of action would be. Can you help.
The fact I got the Blackberry Playbook for £204 postage free, is some consolation as it's a good item with no other flaws, but when I see my photos on the screen, the colour problem seems too big a deviation from normal to be satisfied with it.
What can you advise. Is this colour wash-out a common thing. How do I contact Blackberry?
    Carolyn

I don't know have this issue with pictures and images. The color rendition is superb. It is not a general fault of the Playbook.. there could be some issue with the one you have.
First, try a reset of the Playbook. Press and hold the Power key, up and down volume (-/+) all three buttons simultaneously, for about 10-12 seconds. You should the red LED blink and that should allow a reset of the PlayBook and to power up. Afterwards, do the images appear any better?

  • New photo upload missing after I updated to iPhoto 11

    Hi and Help!
I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 on the weekend (don't know why now particularly, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar project is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get a large exclamation mark "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into the folders via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload this weekend. I also had a look in the last import folder. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Because I don't have the cable for my camera, I uploaded them through a card-reader, I don't know if that may affect their date-stamp (and so therefore where to find them in package contents route). I've uploaded previously this way though, and it hasn't been issue regarding losing the images.
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - meaning it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is horrible (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip).  Plus there was stuff on the camera dating back to the summer.
It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
I'm on a macbook pro and using OSX Lion.
If you have any suggestions, I'd be most grateful!
    Regards
    R

    Hi,
ok - on the many other back up solutions available front: I guess I have bought into the Apple 'plug n play' 'it all works seamlessly' dream. I have twice been sold supposed total solutions - in 2009, on the advice of a Miami Apple store, upgrading my old macbook pro's OSX to I think snow leopard, specifically to get time machine, and buying a La Cie 1TB external drive and WD 0.5TB portable external, to work with the airport extreme I had at home....
then, after my iTunes armageddon last year, when I was unable to resolve it through several very long Apple-care calls, I went into the Genius bar at the Shanghai store, where I now live, and left with a partial recovery...and a new 2TB time capsule, 1TB La Cie external drive, and the Lion OSX. To go with my current macbook pro. So, having invested significantly in Apple's solutions, I'm looking to them to work rather than replace them with something else when I don't know if they'll be any better. People who are supposed to know have told me that it couldn't sweep from peripherals, so I've taken their word for it. Does that make me a mug? Very probably.
    Re format:
    1) La Cie -
    Kind: volume
    Format: exFAT
    Capacity: 1TB
    Available: 400.55 GB
Sharing & permissions: I can read and write
    2) Time Capsule - when I click on 'get info' I don't get very much info, just:
    Kind: time capsule

+ Photos remain in wrong iPhoto list even after being moved?+
    +Posted: 29-Jan-2009 16:56 +
    Hi,
+Has anyone else had this problem? Any workarounds?+
+I have a number of pictures that just show up in the wrong place in Places' list view, but I cannot seem to move them. For example, a photo will show up as being in state X in city Y when it was actually taken at a "Place" in state A, city B. So I click on the photo, hit command-i, type in the name of a place in A/B, and hit done. (Pressing command-i again shows the new name and a pin in the correct place.) However, the photo still shows up when I select state X and city Y from the places browser. This persists even after restarting iPhoto.+
    +Any ideas?+

+Does not seem to be an issue with the latest version of iPhoto.+
Im not sure why this has been closed as it is an issue for me as well,
eg, Trafalgar Square photos appear in the London Eye pushpin, but when checking the photos individually they are correct.
I am fully up to date with my software and this issue only appears to have raised itself on the latest version of iphoto (8.1 (415))
Removing the locations and re-adding them does not fix the issue you just end up with the same result or a different mixture of incorrect pictures in the push pins.

The best way to get assistance on the forum is to provide a clear and detailed description of the problem and report any steps you've already taken to solve the issue and anything that resulted therefrom.
Im not sure why this has been closed as it is an issue for me as well,
It's been closed because the User who had this issue found a solution. Only the person who creates the thread can close it. This person had no idea you even existed, let alone that you might have a similar issue. I'm sure if he had he'd have left it open, just waiting for you to come along.
Is not a resolving answer to the issue and appears to be a very narrow minded approach to resolving issues!
Let's see. Someone has an issue. They create a thread on the forum. They find a solution. They mark the thread as answered. This is narrow minded?

  • HT201302 how can i delete photos from my iphone after uploading in Iphoto even if i say not to keep on phone

how can i delete photos from my iphone after uploading in Iphoto even if i say not to keep on phone

    Hello paolo@spring,
Just as photos that were taken more than 30 days ago remain on your MacBook Air, so will photos that are deleted from your iPhone.
Photos in My Photo Stream are saved on the iCloud server for 30 days.
Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to download all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically.
In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will import into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture.
