Photos will not sync with ipad (3)

I have tryed the normal stuff...restart, new folders, hard restart, did not try the software reset.  I had this issue before and the software reset worked but i had to re-set all the passwords and stuff it gets to be a pain.
Is there a way to correct this issue without resetting the ipad and how then can i prevent this from happening again?

Your MacBook must be quite old.  My suggestion is to sell it and replace it with a newer model that can support later software.  You have probably received many years of good service from the old machine.
Good luck.

  • Photostream will not sync with ipad

My new ipad will not sync with any of my current photos, any pictures that i already have or have taken with my iphone will not download, but they will download to my pc but will not download to ipad. Also any photos taken with the ipad will not upload on photostream. Everything is connected with the same profile, and are all on wifi. Tried turning off photostream and turning back on but no results and turning the ipad on and off, did nothing too.
    Need Help.

I had the same problem, but after looking in other discussions concluded that when the level of the iPad-battery is less then 20% fotostream does not work!!!

  • Aperture will not sync with ipad 2

My Aperture 3.1.1 will not sync photos using I tunes into my new Ipad 2..it was working until I changed some images in a smart folder and how I tunes thinks there are no images in the smart folder (which there are)...it looks to be an Itunes issue not a sync issue per se with the Ipad2...

  • My photos will not sync to ipad

Why is my photos not syncing with my ipad

Ok so I had attitude - This being new to iPad/iCloud etc is very frustrating and I hate not knowing. The problem with ignorance is that you don't know what you don't know, so providing info can be a challenge. Being made to feel dumb doesn't help. I'm an older lady who doesn't understand the ins and outs of all this technology.
I have a brand new iPad, and a Macbook Pro which is rather elderly, with  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 operating system. (I have bought Snow Leopard but haven't installed it on laptop after loads of issues with the installation on my iMac)
I gather that to sync all of my iTunes/iPhoto etc., I would need to have the most recent operating system available. (I have no idea what that is) My iPhone & Ipad are ok with my address book, mail, etc., but not the iTunes/iPhoto. As I need the iPad as a portable gallery of my paintings it's quite important to me that I get iPhoto. I discovered that I could email images to myself then save them onto the iPad, but clearly that's not a practical solution. I gather also that photos I take with my iPad and iPhone sync automatically, but it's other images I want on there. When I connect the iPad to my laptop, I can't just drag the files into it (like an iPod) so what to do?

  • Changed name of iPhone, now will not sync with iPad.

I rebuilt my iMac.  And changed name of iPhone.  Now my iPad does not sync with iPhone. I purchased app on iPhone but does not appear on iPad.  How do you set up iPad to sync with new iPhone.
Furthermore my iPad is not showing up in iTunes when I initiate a wi-fi sync from iPad.   I see the sync icon spinning on iPad but do not see it in iTunes.
All this may be stemming from fact I just rebuilt my iMac.  Prior to the rebuild he iPhone and iPads both synced with each other and the iPad would show up in iTunes when initiated sync from iPad.
I look forward to your replies on this.

  • Photos will not Sync to iPad, iPhone or Apple TV.

I am not able to Sync photos, on my iPhone or iPad, when cabled to my iMac. I have checked  "Sync Photos from iPhoto" and the photo albums (within iTunes) show zero photos.
Also, not able to view photos on Apple TV.  I have gone to iTunes File>Home Sharing> "Choose Photos to share with Apple TV" and checked the desired albums. The photo albums (within ITunes) show zero photos.
I have already backed up Photo Library, ‘Repaired Permissions’, Rebuilt Thumbnails, Repaired Data Base and ‘Rebuilt Database’.
    Any solutions ?

Try rebuild the old library - but note the caveats:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • ICloud Photos will not sync with iPhone4s

So, I just left the Genius bar where we needed to a due a full reset of my iPhone4s.
Before the hard reset of my phone, I had 318 photos on my iPhone photostream and 319 in camera and all were backed up to iCloud.  Due to numerous reasons, Apple does not want me to restore my phone settings from the back-up version saved on my computer, so I must recreate the best I can.
The biggest issue I am having is, we checked to make sure I back up to icloud before we did a full reset of the phone. After the reset and at the Genius bar, we checked to make sure the photos were starting to download.  However, only 39 photos downloaded.  And now I can't get the remaining photos to sync from iCloud.
I think what happened is the phone was plugged in to the airbook for the reset, we saw photos downloading (and thought, phew that worked) unplugged the phone to complete the rest of the phone set up. And some how they stopped downloading mid stream.
If you go to iCloud back-up option it's scary...states it will DELETE all photos from iCloud and back-up with what is on your phone.  In my case, I need what's in iCloud to my phone.
If no-one has a suggestion, I am going to restore my phone to my 'bad' back-up, make sure they are saved on a hard drive, and then go back to the genius bar for a full reset.
PS:  Why can't I see my photos in iCloud???

Again, thank you for the replies.  Here is the update to my situation.
After your suggestions, I did a complete restore to my iPhone4s from the backup version saved on my computer harddrive.  It only yielded 295 photos.   I was able to download the photos from the back-up to my computer hardrive, so I know they are safe!!  Then I called Apple and asked how do I get the 39 photos hijacked in iCloud to stream to my phone.  And I was told if I was very patient, they would download to my phone overnight.  And in the morning all of the photos would be there.  Patience, not my strong point, but for the sake of my photos I was!
Any bets to if they are on the phone or not????
Well they are not, so I quickly learned, that another issue unbeknownst to me, is iCloud has not been working...whether this is a software, carrier or other issue, who knows.  Its not working.  And the 295 photos in my phone right now will not stream to iCloud!   The only photos being sent to iCloud are those from the last hard reset made in July (39 photos).
So I called Apple again, they are most, most, most confident the 37 (I deleted two yesterday) will download to my phone after I reset and establish my iPhone as new.  I told the only way to delete photos from iCloud is do press the setting in the iCloud app online.
It really stinks that the 295 on my phone will not stream to iCloud.  I guess in the grand scheme it appears I'll have all of my photos, but they will never be joined together in iCloud or on my iPhone.
I'll do a reset tonight and see if I can't the 37 iCloud photos to stream.
Please learn from my lesson.  iCloud / photostream doesn't always work.  Complete frequent hard back-ups of your phone so this too doesn't happen to you.
BTW - The Apple Genius/Supervior I spoke to gave me her contact information (email and voicemail) to contact her directly if I have any other issues.  Wow, that's amazing!

  • Photo Stream not syncing with iPad

    I am using:
    1. iPhone 5
    2. iPad 3rd Gen.
    3. Using iOS 6.1.4 for both the products
    4. iCloud on Windows Vista
Both my iOS devices are synced with the same Apple ID and PhotoStream is turned on in both of them. However, only the PhotoStream of iPhone is synced with my PC while the PhotoStream of iPad does not get synced either with the PC or with the iPhone.
May I know what am I doing wrong? Need help. Thanks.

  • After rebuild of iphoto- photos will not sync (iphone + ipad)

While syncing the iphone (5s),  iphoto (v9.4.3) opened and a pop-up prompted me that I needed to rebuild my library. Clicked to do so, and after the rebuild finished, I went to sync in itunes and noticed my photo settings had changed.  The "Selected albums, Events,..." is grayed out.  I unselected "Sync Photos from iphoto" synced to erase what had been selected from the iphone.  With "sync photos" unchecked it syncs normally.  When checked (the only option: All photos,..) I get an error code "The iPhone "--" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (1140)."  Tryed syncing my iPad (3 gen) with the same result.
I have both my iphoto and itunes libary on an external HD through my older iMac (running OSX 10.7.5).  Have tried: rebooting everything/ running a Disk Utilities repair disk permissions/ an iphoto permissions repair/ deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder/ Opening the AlbumData.xml seeking out all "&" and changing them (via another thread)... all without any success. I am able to access pictures through other applications (imovie/ pages) and iphoto still recognizes and asked to import photos with iphone/ipad connected.  I have an time machine back up, but haven't restored anything from that.  Any ideas how to regain the option to select albums, events, etc... would be very appreciated.

    Hello Jezky123,
It sounds like you are unable to sync photos now from from iPhoto through iTunes to an iOS device. You did some great troubleshooting already. Next I would try deleting the iPod photo cache and then try again:
iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
    iPhoto or Aperture
If you're syncing from an iPhoto or Aperture library, use these steps to find the iPod Photo Cache folder in the default iPhoto Library or Aperture Library location:
From the Finder, choose Go > Home. If you moved your iPhoto Library or Aperture Library to a different location, go to that location instead.
Open the Pictures folder and locate the iPhoto Library file. (For Aperture, this is called Aperture Library.)
Control-click iPhoto Library or Aperture Library and choose Show Package Contents.
In the next window, drag the iPod Photo Cache folder to the Trash.
Important: Don't remove or modify any other file within the library package. Removing or modifying other files may cause data loss.
    Close the Finder window.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

I'd try updating to version 11.1.5.5:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you're already at version 11.1.5.5 (or the update didn't help with the recognition trouble), try the procedure in Cerbu's post:
    Re: sync problem
... or try section 5 from the following document:
TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
... but if you still have the same recognition troubles, try a complete uninstall/reinstall of both iTunes and all related software components, as per the instructions from the following troubleshooting document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Photos will not sync with iphone

SInce I updated my iPhone to IOS6, and downloaded iPhoto update, I can't synce photos to my iPhone.
The check box for syncing selected photos in iTunes is grayed out.
I already tried all the options to rebuild the iPhoto database, no luck.  I checked with my iPod, I can't download photos to it, either.
    Versions:
    OSX: 10.8.2
    iTunes: 10.7
    iPhoto: 9.4
    IOS: 6

    OK,
I called Apple support, and after a couple callbacks my issues are solved. (Or at least worked around)
It was definitely the ampersand "&" issue in iPhoto.
For now, you can't have an "&" in any of your album, slideshow or event names.
In addition, you can't select any music for slideshows that has an "&" anywhere in the songe title, artist, album, etc.  If you have a good sized music library and search for "&", you may be surprised how often this character shows up.
If you have ever included music for a slideshow that has a "&", it works best if you select different music from the default music library that comes with iPhoto.
The Apple Support guy told me that an iPhoto update will be out in the coming weeks that addresses this issue, but he did not have  firm date.
I was very impressed by the professionalism, knowledge, and clear instructuions I received from Apple Support.  They definitely know how to work with customers.
