Photoshop_12_1_ls1.dmg error -4960

HI There
I have used the adobe downloader to download CS5 trial version.  Once completed it says extracting files and then an error log with "photoshop_12_1_ls1.dmg error -4960" appears.  How do I get PS to install?
Thanks

Your download may have been interrupted, even if for a brief moment. Try downloading again without anything else happening in the background.
If you need additional help, please take a look at the Adobe Photoshop Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/photoshop_macintosh as this current forum is for Adobe AIR Installation issues.
Thanks,

  • Error message recieved when attempting to download update: Error indesign 8 LS16.dmg error -4960

I'm attempting to download and update for Indesign CS6 and recieve this error:  error indesign 8 LS16.dmg error -4960. I clicked ok and the download continued to the *extracting -- this may take awhile. Well, that's been going on for 10 minutes now -- and I'm concerned that the download is locked up. My questions are:
What should I do about the error message?
How long should the extraction process take? Is it hung up? How long should I wait before aborting the download process?
How do I abort the download process, if that's what I need to do.
    Suggestions and prayers appreciated.

I would probably kill the process.
From what I can tell, the best thing is to download again. From where were you getting the download?

  • Installation file doesn't work: Error -4960

    Hey!
I just bought a wacom intuos4 graphics tablet and with it I was supposed to get Photoshop Elements 8. Well, it started out well: when I registered my product downloading PSE8 became available. I downloaded the file but it wouldn't open. Instead, it says PSE8_mac.dmg Error -4960. And yes, I'm a mac user: I'm not trying to install a mac file on pc or vice versa. Soo... what's the deal? Are there any fixes?
The program is downloadable only for a limited time (I mean like a couple more hours anymore). I'm downloading the file again but I don't believe it's going to be of any help.
    I'm pretty desperate, really.

I am sorry for all the trouble, I downloaded the file again and this time it worked. Must've been something wrong with my Internet connection the first time or something. I should've had more patience before posting here but I just paniced.
PS. I downloaded it from Wacoms website, not from here.

  • Error -4960

My computer seems to be having difficulties extracting the Adobe Trial files after downloading.
An error message has come up which says:
"The following disk images can't be opened Design Premium_CS5_5 error -4960."
I am trying to download to a MacBook Pro operating Mac OS X version 10.7.3
Could you please advise what the problem is and what I need to do to fix it?
    Thanks!

This would seem to indicate that the DMG file you downloaded is corrupted.  I would recommend trying the download again.  What type of an Internet connection are you using btw?
Alternately you can also follow the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.  Although that may not solve your issue if it is an Internet connection issue.

It appears that your download has been corrupted.  To resolve your difficulties I would recommend completing Solution 1 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html#main_Solutio n_1.  Once done you will want to begin the download again.

  • How can I tackle error 4960 while downloading Master Collection CV5?

I'm using a Macbook Pro. It took some 40 hours over 3 days to download CS5 (thorugh wifi) and at the end of it...it showed me the following error....
The following disc images could not be opened
    Image                                Reason
    MasterCollection_CS5_       error -4960
Now it just say Extracting...it might take a while!!!
Is this error because i did not download at one go?  Pl help... I do not want to go through the ordeal of another download!!

if your still having problems downloading i figured it out. the download you first tried was interrupted and didnt download completely so what you have to do is
    1) in the top right of a mac click search and search for MasterCollection_CS5_ (or what you error is IE photoshop_12_1 ect...)
    2) the click "show all in finder"
    3) look for the .dmg file "MasterCollection_CS5_.dmg" and delete it
    4) try to down load again WITHOUT interuption.

  • How do I open:  Photoshop_12_1_LS1.dmg.adadow

    Hi,
I have just downloaded the 1 gig trail version and I ended up with this file only- Photoshop_12_1_LS1.dmg.adadow
can anyone tell me how I can actually open it and make it load photoshop?
    Thanks

Branching this to a separate discussion.  HGK do you receive any error messages when you try to run the installer or open Photoshop Elements 12?  Also to confirm you are continuing to use Windows XP for your operating system?

The target drive already contains 3 earlier images. The biggest image has a size of 28,14 GB. And as you can see this drive ha enough place for other images.
    So what is going wrong?
I Googled for this error -39 without any success and I have not found any thing about this particular error in Apple's discussions or support pages.
I would feel a lot safer with a decent image of my Hard Drive. I already lost one and do not want to repeat this again...
    Can any one help?

If you want to create a backup of your system volume, then do not use disc images. They are not bootable. Here's a far better solution:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
You can also do the same using other backup utilities that can create bootable backups:
    Backup Software Recommendations
My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. Carbon Copy Cloner (Donationware)
    6. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
    7. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
    8. Data Backup (Commercial)
