Photoshop 5.0 LE and Windows 8

I tried installing Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE on my new Windows 8 computer using my installation disc. Windows 8 told me the program would not work and did not install. Is there a way to install Photoshop 5.0 LE on my new Windows 8 computer?

The first thing you might try is resetting the Crop Tool by right clicking on the crop icon in the tool options bar and choosing Reset Tool.
If that doesn't work then the next thing is to reset the photoshop elements 2 settings file by holding down
the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after clicking or double clicking on the pse 2 shortcut.
Keep holding the keys until a dialog appears ask if you want to delete the photoshop elements settings file
and click yes in the dialog.

Photoshop Elements 4.0 and windows 7 compatibility.

I just recently purchased a new computer with windows 7 on it and have been trying to get my tablet and art programs on it, one of which it PE4.0. When trying to install it Im told that its incompatible, so I am wondering if there is someway to rectify this that doesnt involve buying a new version?

Photoshop CS4, Intous 3 and Windows 7 - strange work

Hello.
I have Windows RTM 64bit, Intous 3 latest driver (29.09.09), Adobe Photoshop CS4.
And when I work in Photoshop with brush some times it draws normally with pressure, but sometimes NOT. The difference is pen movement during first pen touch. If I lower pen during move its all right, but there is a lag between action and reaction. But if I just press the surface and then start pen movement, I get no pressure, just bold line and stupid windows pen circles.
I think the trouble is in Windows tablet, ink, penk etc preferences, but I cant get what to do. Please help.

Maybe windows 7, when released in this month will support it better or the Intous will have better drivers.

I've just ordered a new Dell computer running Windows XP SP2(160GB hard drive ,1GB RAM). Will my Photoshop Elements 1.0 work on it? I prefer not to upgrade if I don't have to.

PSE 1.0 will definitely run on XP S2, but didn't I see a post from you somewhere else now asking about Media Center? You might have to experiment and let the rest of us know.

yes, most old software versions can be installed on win os though you may need to use compatibility mode.

Photoshop Elements 2.0 and Windows 7

I had been using Elements 2.0 on a Windows 7 OS for a couple years without issue. Suddenly a couple months ago it stopped working. I think there may have been a Windows update, but I am not sure. I tried the suggestions on the forum by changing the compatibility settings and the virtual disk space but nothing helps. It doesn't open at all now. Any suggestions? It is frustrating because I prefer the 2.0. I have updated versions, but they are much "clunkier"!

The first thing that comes to mind is resetting the pse 2 preferences by going to:
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop\Elements\Photoshop Elements 2.0 Prefs
and dragging the folder Photoshop Elements 2.0 Prefs to the recycle bin.
Then start pse 2 and see if that works.
Make sure before trashing the above folder photoshop elements 2 is not running.

The programme issued a message stating it couldn't find the file and suggested I should reload the programme. I inserted the Elements disc but Windows repeatedly asked me to insert Disc 1.
I found the dll file by doing a search.
I'm sorry to say that Vista is a pain in the you know what re compatibility issues and I cannot run some of my unsupported programmes on it!

Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse can be quite a challenge. Even if you use the experimental 2x UI. You can not use your fingers or to quickly change tools and change settings. You have no shortcut without popping up Windows touch keyboard or leave it up taking a great deal of screen space. If you're using the 2x UI Photoshop uses the screen at half resolution so it displays 1/4 the amount of pixels it could.
Fortunately I found a little touchkey utility on the web the lets you design your own touch keyboards. The can be transparent and you can even paint under them as long as you start the stroke outside the keyboard area. The keyboards can be toggles on and off so you can actually use Photoshop. The utility is small and requires not installation can be run form anywhere. I purchased a Surface Pro 3 a week ago. Its a full fledge PC. Through the home group I can access all machines in my house and using network shares I can access all files on my machines and the network drive on my router, I can print on my Epson 4800 printer. I can show slideshow on my HDTV via Bluetooth using a Microsoft wireless display adapter. I can plug in my Wacom Intuos Pro wireless receiver into the USB 3 port and use my Wacom tablet. Have a very touchy machine. Touch on the keyboard touch pad touch on the Display display and on the Wacom tablet. Could have touch on a mouse but I prefer the Microsoft comfort bluetooth mouse that has six buttons and a four way wheel.
As a tablet its under two pounds. Its quite impressive cost why mor the an iPad but worth the cost to me for with windows I can get at the file system. If you have a Surface Pro 3 you should check out "Touchkey" its handy.

How do I re-install Photoshop CS6 after doing a Windows 8.1 REFRESH? Lightroom and Topaz installed great but not Photoshop

I have my Photoshop CS6 Serial number and thought it would be easy to re-install software. Message says my serial number is VALID but not for this version of software.

Photoshop CS5 and Windows 8.1 Screen brightness problem????

I just recently updated to Windows 8.1, and now every time I open up Photoshop, my screen automatically lightens, lightening up my work/picture as well. It's annoying as hell. I want the picture to look normal, the way it is supposed to look. When I view the picture through my picture gallery, the picture looks normal and is in normal lighting. But every time, I open it up in Photoshop, my whole screen lightens, including the photo. Like I said, this is extremely annoying and now I can't edit my pictures properly because I can't see it's true colors. Instead, I see a brightened version of it. Is anyone else experiencing this. If so, please help me fix it. Will I have to uninstall Windows 8.1? I researched this and read in several different forums that this isn't an option. And that SUCKS! Please help, if you know how to fix this. Thanks!

I have been using Photoshop on windows for more then 20 years on windows. Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7. I never installed Windows ME, Windows Vista or Windows 8. I have never seen any version of Photoshop change a displays brightness or even the image color when scaling or going from float to tab to single image with PS UI to full screen. However I hardly ever use Photoshop in full screen mode.
At different zoom views image may seem like the color change because of the scale of the image or the portion of the image that is on screen or the color of the border around the image.

I read in the forums that it's a problem with my grafic card driver and that I should update it. I just did, but the problem is still there. I use Adobe Master Collection CS4 a long time ago (under Windows XP plataform). Last week I upgraded to Windows 7 and issues began. Does anybody know what I should do? Thank you very much!

I did that too Chris but when I uncheck OpenGL drawing my video card is not shown and the crash dialog appears anyway. It's really dissapointing... Thanks for you help, I'll try to contact NVidia technical support.
