Photoshop 5.5 acting crazy - want to reinstall but no delete program

For a few weeks I couldn't get ph 5.5 to open. Then I changed something to 256 colors and it worked. Throughout, the crop tool turns into a curved arrow
and cursor jumps away from image and can't control.
So I would like to uninstall the program and reinstall. However, there's no ph 5.5 listed in remove programs. How do I uninstall it and find aall the parts of it everywhere. Can I just do a new install and not remove the old one?
Please note I need a simple explanation.

Your best bet is to download the Photoshop Elements free trial from this site (Adobe.com) and see how it works.
I suspect it will run fine; your system is MUCH newer than Photoshop 5.5 from what I can see.
Regarding limitations in Elements... It was once a derivative of the full version of Photoshop (around Photoshop 6.0 I believe). Some things, such as working with 16 bit data, were blocked, but it's getting gradually more powerful over time. I think you may find, with a few exceptions, that it has more functionality than Photoshop 5.5 did. And it's not hugely expensive, as is the full version of Photoshop.
If you have time to post back here, I'd be interested to hear your comparitive impressions after trying it.

I uninstalled Photoshop Incorrectly and Want to Reinstall but Don't Have the Option...

I use a Mac and I dragged the Photoshop folder (from applications, not Adobe specifically) into the trash can. Like a true genius, I deleted the trash can items to make sure it was super gone. (Long story) So I'm attempting to reinstall it now, but when I open the creative cloud app, it acts as if Photoshop is still installed. Help

I want to completely reinstall Mac OS X (as in, reformat the hard drive and reinstall). I have an external hard drive (500Gb), and a couple gigs that I want to cross over, but other than that I want everything gone. However, I bought this Mac with iLife preinstalled, so I am worried that I will lose iLife in the process. Again, I have an external hard drive, so if it were as easy as copying iLife to the external hard drive, then that would be great, but I don't think it will be. I have iLife registered with Apple, but I don't have the actual box because it came preinstalled. Any suggestions?

The iLife suite should be on your install disks that came with your Mac. Check out this thread.

If it's been removed from the store then you won't be able to re-download it, and there aren't refunds for when an app is removed. You don't have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes or on your backup of your downloads that you can re-sync to your phone ?

Transfered Photoshop to new computer; it wants a subscription but I have a license. Help?

I mistakenly followed the prompts to subscribe (I had confused the product code with the license code and obviously it wouldn't accept it) and now when I open the software it doesn't give me the option to input my license code—it just tells me my subscription ran out. I deleted and reloaded the program but the subscription prompt still comes up. Any advice?

it gives the same error code.
Wether I highlight drag and drop, right click delete, or move manually one by one to trash.

Thank you. I am a little bit busy at work, sorry for the delayed reply. I tried to solve the problem, but it still exists. The 3rd of the Adobe disk is damaged someway. I tried to run on my mac at home and it has a failure. So I think we have no other choice that to download the full pack of master collection. I had a discussion with the IT expert and he figured out that company does not exist any more from where they purchased the Adobe Master Collection for Mac and PC. So If you would be kind to help me, what kind of information ID or any kind of document would be needed to identify the purchaser institute (us). I don't think any of us has an account at the Adobe. I will try to figur out. I desperately need to replace Photoshop and InDesign as without them it's really harsh to teach the kids fot the graphic design.

If you purchased it as a download you should have a link to download it in your Adobe account online. Otherwise you can download the trial version and use your serial number to activate it.
