Photoshop 6 Install Problems on Mavericks
I hope somebody can help?
I have just purchased a second hand copy of Photoshop 6 (year 2000)
I'm trying to install this on a Macbook Pro running Mavericks OS.
When I click to Install the software, I get this message pop up: You can't open the application "(null)" because it may be damaged or incomplete.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Curt,
I believe the copy I have is genuine and is Mac compatible.
However, I didn't receive a licence transfer document from the seller, who I might add isn't being too helpful at the moment.
He seems to think it may be Mavericks causing problems, as opposed to it being a software issue.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP INSTALL PROBLEMS
Ok so downloaded a trial from here (NEVER EVER HAD ADOBE INSTALLED BEFORE) and hit the error everyone else has been having.
I am on windows 7 64Bit etc
So I have been reading the forums all week and trying everything
- permissions and ownership (changed everything I could)
- Creating a new user as admin and again changing permissions/ownership
- Making sure i am in simple startup mode with everything off (antivirus/firewall) etc etc
- sfc/scannow DONE No errors
- misexec/unreg and regserver done
- run the adobe cleaner (just incase)
- Changed compatibility mode to vista and also tried xp sp 3
Here is my log. I probably have a LOT of logs on the PC as i have attempted to install it about 100+ times.
Also i have downloaded just cs5 and also sc5.5 master suite and neither work. I dont even want the other stuff just photoshop...

Photoshop CS6 problems in Mavericks
Hi,
Ever since I updated my Mac to Mavericks, Photoshop CS6 started freezing at random intervals, and it's making it really hard to work like this.
Please, release an update that fixes whatever is causing this.

Hey I am trying to install Photoshop Elements 8 on my PC. I tried to run the Setup.exe application and I got this message "this installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." What do I do?
what file (name and extension) did you download and what file size is shown on your harddrive?

Creative Cloud Photoshop Install Problem
I just downloaded the CC trial and then tried to intall photoshop from it, but when it installed, it was not in english. I uninstalled it, but now I cant reinstall it....what should I do
The install language is determined by your setting in the application manager. Apps can be uninstalled normally using the Add or Remove Programs system panel and likewise, they can be treated with the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.

since installing OS X Mavericks photoshop (CS6) runs so slow I can hardly use it. Is anyone else having this problem?
The post above is only partially true. There are many people that have install Mavericks over the top of a older version of OS X and haven't experiences any problem. Then of course there are others that have experiences many different problems.
Do you have a Time Machine backup from before you installed Mavericks? If you do, and you should, you can restore your system from that TM backup and then do a clean install of Mavericks on either an external drive or a second partition on your internal drive then use the Setup assistant system to copy over your setting files and apps from your older OS X version. You can then TEST that clean Mavericks install for any compatibilty problem before you commit to it totally. -

I have installed OS X Mavericks on macbook pro, macbook air & iMac but I am having terrible trouble with apple Mail. I need to take all accounts online frequently OR worse I have to quit mail and restart computer. Is anyone else having problems?
I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As". So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail. I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Here's what I know:
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update. None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them. This is maddening! What can be done? Apple?? Anyone??? -
i tried to update mavericks 10.9 to os x yosemite but unfortunately it is was unsuccesfull. it was no any back up before i update. so, here now is the problem i try to install back the mavericks but the computer say "it could not find installation information of this machine or the request timed out"
what should i do?

Open Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/). Select your Mac OS X startup volume in the column on the left of the Disk Utility window, then click the First Aid tab. Click the Repair Disk Permissions
Also, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed:
