Photoshop 6 locked up while trying to upload cell phone pic...need help!!!!
I tried to upload 97 pictures from my cell phone to photoshop elements 6 on my computer. The first 31 uploaded then photoshop became locked up and I can't do anything with it. I went back through my camera and turns out there were 2 videos of my daughter riding her bike for the first time that come right after picture 31..This has apparently caused the lockup but I don't know what to do. The adobe phone line help support guy had no idea either and said he could'nt support 6.o anyway and sent me to this forum he said was run my adobe photoshop engineers who could help me. I was able to upload all 97 pix plus the two short videos to a windows viewer on my comupter and have deleted the videos off my cameras memory card. When I tried to upload the 97 pix again to photoshop 6.0 it locks up and says these pix already exist in photoshop. I'm very technologically challenged and haven't backed up the pictures on my photoshop in a couple years (Yes..I know..not smart!) So, can one please tell me how to fix this problem? Did you manage to find a solution for this? We are in NZ and having the same issue across out network of agency computers... Our IT supports answer is to overhaul the machines (at a huge cost!) but we're not even sure this is going to work... a bit ridiculous that you pay for a product you can't use properly and then have to pay for someone to fix it, which even then, might not work!
If you haven't found a solution, we did find a way around the vaildation for Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Bridge. At the validation screen if you click on the text to sign in as another user, it takes you to another screen. Resign in as the same user (yourself) and then it should let you access these programmes. Although you have to do it everytime you open it. Unfortunately we can't get it to work at all for Acrobat, it lasts about 2 seconds and then automatically quits.

E1200 - CPU Locks Up While Trying to Run Updates
I tried to install my new E1200 router last night, and ran into issues. Every time I try to run the installation CD, my CPU locks up while trying to run updates. Is there a way to bypass checking for updates while doing initial installation?
If you are trying to install the Router with the help of the Cisco Connect Software and want to by pass the Router updates then there you will get an option " Update Now " or " Later "... So select " Later " then that will bypass the updates and will proceed further for the installation of the Cisco Connect....

While trying to update my phone one photo is stopping the whole process and I've gone through all the online suggestions (check for updates,etc)
Verizon was having a problem on their end, perhaps a server down for some repair or updating. However you were already aware that there was an on-going problem in your own posting and you decided to continue on.I can understand you wanting this done and trying to save the $15.00 fee. However I would have waited a bit longer until the Verizon issue had been corrected. Yes it is frustrating but again you know in advance of a problem , I can understand that this is most upsetting for you but never try to perform any change when a problem is there and I also do not like to do business on a weekend with no live tech support available. I'm sure this will all work out for you if given some time. Sorry.

This is an easy Q: to set - but there is no simple and plain answer only a lot of more or less plausibly suggestions.
Error -50 = paramErr Error in user parameter list
Can there be any external hard disks - if so How is/are it/they formatted ?
If so it Must be Mac OS Extended (hfs) if used for Video.
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most but not for VIDEO.
What this means in Your situation is above me.
• free space on internal boot hard disk 11Gb is on the limit to work when You select Export and might be it.
Video used - there are several video formats/codecs and iMovie can not use all of them, they evolve to fast.
• So try to find out by opening a raw video in QuickTime-player and then open Inspector (cmd+I) and read
Video Format/Codec: nnnnnnnn
What does it read ?
Pictures
• in what format ? .jpg, .bmp, .tif, else ?
Audio
• from where/what format ? iTunes, .avi, .mp3, .aiff, else ?
I convert all audio to .aiff - in iTunes I burn out as an Audio-CD .aiff (not .mp3) and use the files on this in my movie projects.
Some times it's needed to trash the "com.apple.iMovie.plist" file in You USER-Library/Preferences (not Library on Root level (when opening Macintosh HD) - but the one in Your home folder.
Many users has not observed that there are TWO libraries.
• Library - at root level
• Library - in user/account folder - THIS IS THE ONE to look into

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

OK so yes, but if, and only if:
(1) your MacBook has a Firewire port (not all do)
- and -
(2) your old external iSight camera works (not all do)
- and -
(3) your MacBook is working properly.
If you are not certain whether your MacBook model has Firewire, you can search MacBook Technical Specifications for your model. Alternatively, check the User Guide Manual that came with your MacBook for the information you need to be certain.
If you are not certain that your old external iSight camera works, you can test it using the suggestions in this link.

Follow the instructions in your iSight User's Guide to connect and turn on the iSight. Then launch the Apple app you want to use with your iSight. If you need more information about using an app, search for "camera" (without the quote marks) in the Help menu choice for the app.
