Photoshop 6 on 10.9.4 option+click mask and palettes issue

Hello,
I have two monitors set up with my pallets on the side monitor. When I option+click the mask to activate (while the file is on the left monitor, and my palettes on right) the file beneath is selected and not the mask. Furthermore, when I toggle through programs and then back to Photoshop all of my palettes wind up on my left monitor. I have my workspace saved, but that didn't seem to help.

  • Photoshop CS5 Clone Stamp Tool option-click just stopped working, why?

    I've been using clone stamp tool option-click (healing brush  option-click also) on Photoshop CS5 on my Mac 10.6.5 and it stopped  working suddenly on Monday.  Had just used it on Sunday.  So, I've tried  to isolate the problem.
    1. Went to Apple store and my keyboard and  mouse work fine on their inhouse systems running Photosochop CS5.   Problem still exists on home system.
    2. Adobe photoshop suggested I go back to Mac 10.6.3.  I did and problem still exits.
    3. Reset all presets in CS5.  Problem still exists.
    4.  Spent several hours with Adobe Photoshop tech on phone -- he couldn't  make it work remotely either using his keyboard.  Reloaded Photoshop  from scratch.  Problem still exists.
    Question:
    Could this be a hardware problem?  Graphic board problem? 
    Or is this a software problem aside from Mac OS and CS5?

    ..... I wonder why the guru thought your system was gone if your new user account was working?
    If your new user account is working.... why not use it?  The system seems fine but something went screwy with the settings in your original account.
    hopefully someone else will chime in here with more insight before you start from scratch.

    Over the years I have upgraded Photoshop numerous times.  When I click on Start, Programs is shows I have CS4, CS5 and CS6 installed.  If all three are installed, doesn't this eat up a lot of hard drive space?  If so, can I uninstall CS4 and CS5 and still have CS6 function properly?  Note - I am running the Windows 64-bit versions.  Thanks in advance for your help!

    Will you please clarify how you recommend I uninstall CS4 and CS5?  Should I uninstall them through Windows or if I deactivate them while the program is open will that uninstall them?

  • Photoshop Elements 9 Layers not functioing (Layer Mask and Adjustment layer)

  • Captivate 6 is Crashing when inserting click boxes and other issues

    Desperately need help because I have never seen anything like this.  I use Captivate 6 in the workplace and have not run into an issue like this in the 9 years I have used Captivate.
    Captivate will not open any new projects (800 x 600 or 640 x 480 etc.)  Nothing happens.  When I open 1024 x 768 (the project size I have been using for the last year), a new project will open but when I try to add a click box, I get an error message "A fatal error has occurred and the application is being terminated.  Adobe Captivate tried to save all your work int he respective project folders as "cpbackup" files.  Please restart Captivate.  This has only been happening for a week.
    When a coworker or IT employee signs onto my computer under their profile, Captivate works fine for them.  I went to another co-workers desk who has Captivate and when I sign on her computer under my profile, I have the same problem so we figured my work profile was corrupt.  IT set up a new profile 2 separate times, I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 or 4 time and nothing works.  We are on a network but Captivate is installed on my C:Drive and I save all my files on the C:Drive.
    The odd thing is if can open up files I have worked on this past year (even up to 2 weeks ago), they are fine and I can insert click boxes without any problems.  It just happens when I try to create a new file. 
    We have Adobe volume licenses at work so I can not call and get support and none of us can figure this out.  I would be really grateful for some help!!

    I did a test which I use a C program client.c to call a C++ shared library libprintcpp.so. The shared lib compiled by:
    CC -G -c -Kpic libprint.cpp
    ld -b -G -B dynamic -lc -o libprintcpp.so libprint.o
    When I use:
    cc -o client client.c -L. -lprintcpp -lCstd -lCrun
    The client runs fine. The result is:
    From main
    From printstring
    But when I use:
    cc -c client.c
    ld -lc -o client client.o -L. -lprintcpp -L/opt/SUNWspro/lib -lCrun -L/opt/SUNWspro/WS6U1/lib -lCstd
    The result is:

  • Mouse right click copy and paste issue

    No matter if I use the trackpad or any mouse if I go to copy & paste something to the end of a sentence it will backspace to the next word. I can hit SPACE and seperate it and it will still backspace into the last word like this. Example. Hello my name is TomI live in the US.
    C&P'd . (I live in the US) as you can see the m and I are together.
    I can space 8-10 spaces and it will backup every time. Gets annoying when you have a lot of C&P to do.

    @ IffatAsyraff, Not sure how long but it's more pronouned now that I'm having to C&P a lot of my work.
    @LexSchellings, I used the space bar not the arrows.
    @ LowLuster, No, It does that on it's own.(highlights)
    I added space with the SPACE BAR to show that whether I space once or 10 times it backs it up.
    I know the video is crappy because I was holding my phone while recoding and when it shows me highlighting the sentence I was attempting to rease it to show how it C&P's but the last part is what it does.

  • Does second option / click  iPhoto library update with original library

    I am going to create another iTunes and iPhoto library with the options - click method and was checking to make sure that when ever a update or new version is installed that both are effected.
    Otherwise what is needed to be done or can someone give me a link to copy for instructions.

    Updates affect the application, not the library or libraries. If a new version requires a new library, each separate library will be upgraded the first time that you use it. This is a non-issue --- you can ignore it and iPhoto will take care of you.

  • Photoshop CC option-click-layer behavior change -- layers now flatten/disappear

    I used to option-click on layers all the time to do various tasks. Now, in Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 I can no longer option-click a layer to copy a layer effect, or apply a clipping mask. Instead, as soon as I click on a layer with the option key engaged, all layers disappear/flatten into one "background layer".
    What's changed? And how do I now copy layer effects from one layer to another? The documentation says "drag onto destination layer" but this merely moves the effect from one layer to another, does not copy it. Option-Dragging used to copy an effect, but now any use of the option key flattens all layers together.

    Ehh, that shouldn't happen. I just used that feature in Photoshop CC 2014 and it worked fine. Perhaps you should try a preference reset: Hold Cmd+Opt+Shift as you initiate Photoshop's startup. Select "yes" when asked if you would like to continue with reset.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 option-click issue

    New install of Lion Server on a Mac Mini.  It appears that the option-click key stroke to select a area of a photo to clone is not working.  I get the error below on Elemens 9 and 10.
    Could not use the clone stamp tool because the area to clone has not been defined (option-click to define a source point).
    Could this be an issue with the Magic Mouse?  i used Systems Preferences / Keyboard Prefernces /Show Keyboard viewere to see that when I depress the 'option' key it is actually being depressed.  Is the click on the mouse being 'recorded'?
    I would just give up and buy Apeture but I have too much invested in Photoshop (software and knowledge).  Where should I complain about this issue?  Apple Store?  This forum? 
    Could this be an issue with the Magic Mouse?  I'm going to install 10 (have 9 installed today) on my Mac Air and use it without a mouse to see if I have the same problem.
    Why do I feel like I am blazing trails?  I hate that feeling.

    Installed Elements 10 trial on my Mac Air no issue.   Converted my Magic Mouse over to my Mac Air via bluetooth.  !AH AH!!!!!!   Same problem.  I think I have isolated it to something to do with the Magic Mouse.  Tomorrow I will go buy a wired Mac Mouse at the Apple store to see if I have the same issue.
    If anyone has some suggestions on how to isolate even more to the Magic Mouse then please step up!

  • Bridge Does Not Automatically Bring Up Photoshop When the Photo is Double-Clicked

    I have just purchased CS4 with Bridge for my new MacIntosh.  In Bridge for the PC, when I double click a photo it automatically brings up Photoshop.  On the Mac version, it gives me an error message saying that part of the application is not loaded.  I completely uninstalled the program, and reloaded the application and still get the same message.  So in Bridge on the Mac, to get around this, I right click the picture and go to "Open With" and there are two entries:  "Open with CS4 (default)" and "Open with CS4."  This works if I pick either option.  My Windows version only has "Open with CS4 (default)" as the option.
    I called Adobe support (in India?) with no solution.
    I really like the double click option rather that using the pop-out menu choice.  What is wrong with the Mac install, and how can I fix this issue?

  • Option-Click on desktop to hide current app hangs the app

    I've been getting a weird finder hang lately: option-clicking on the desktop to hide the current application makes the application hang and I can't switch back into it. Selecting it in the dock won't bring the windows back, cmd-tabbing over won't bring the windows back, selecting it in the DragThing process dock won't bring the windows back.
    The frustrating thing is that it doesn't happen all the time. Happens mostly with InDesign CS2 and Photoshop CS2. The only way out is to select the icon in the dock and do a force quit. Nothing else hangs.
    Any advice?

    Too bad it is an intermittent problem, that makes it harder to chase down. It would drive me nuts, as I use the shortcut all the time. You could try creating a test user and running there for awhile, but since it doesn't happen all the time that may not sort anything out. Have you run all the usual maintenance voodoo? Repair Permissions, clean caches (Tiger Cache Cleaner is useful, but costs money)? Take a look at Doc Smoke's FAQ here:

    You might also launch Console and leave it running to see if any error messages pop up. If it is only happening with CS2 programs, it may be some strange incompatiblity problem with them. I haven't seen this, but I only have CS1. You could check in the Adobe forums and see if it is happening to anyone else.

  • I can't copy and paste text into photoshop because the copy paste option is acting up

    Let me explain. I found some text on a website I wanted to us for my project so I copied it into a text box that I made in photoshop. I edited the text to my liking and then hilighted the entire text. When I go to copy the text by right clicking and then clicking on copy it just pastes the original text from the website I got it from instead of copying the edited text. I even tried ctrl+ C and it still pasted the original text not copy the one I edited. Last resort- I re-edited my text and go to edit and click copy. Still no fix it just pastes the original text. For some reason photoshop is thinking that the copy option is a paste option. I have no idea why this is or how to fix this. This was not happening about an hour ago so I have no idea why this is happening. I even tried restarting my laptop and I even tried a test in a completely new photoshop document and it still does this. How do I fix this? I have photoshop CS4 currently installed. Help is appreciated.

  • Option-click to drag effect

    We're working on a project with a lot of photo elements. For some reason, using option-click to drag an effect from one photo to another is not working. You can highlight the effect and drag it, but you can't drop it on the new clip. The dissolve is set to start on the edit and has plenty of media to play over so it is not a length/timing issue. Has anyone had this problem before? Is there a setting that might be causing it?

    To clarify...
    by dragging the transition I meant selecting the cross dissolve from one photo then using option-click so you get the 4-way arrow with the plus sign and dragging the cross dissolve to a new photo. The dissolve is 12 frames long and set to start on the edit.
    I tried just dragging the dissolve, but that didn't work either. The pictures are coming from Photoshop. (not sure if that has an impact)
    Obviously there are plenty of other ways to add the dissolve, but I wanted to try and figure out why this isn't working now. My guess is that we've checked some preference or setting and that is causing the problem, but I can't seem to figure out what it is.
