Photoshop 7.0 JPG's sehen

Probleme mit DTP-Software

Ich arbeite mit Photoshop 7.0 / PC. In Quark 4.11 / PC kann ich JPG's nicht mehr in Bildrahmen sehen, TIFF's natürlich schon. Kann man das Problem lösen?

I have full membership to CC and have been using it for 4 months. Randomly Photoshop stopped opening jpgs, so I uninstalled and re-installed. Photoshop then stopped working all together. I signed out of the app manager and when I signed back in all my info was gone and only "TRIAL VERSIONS" of CC apps were available. I paid for this software. I need to be able to download it again.

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.

  • Photoshop CS und JPG

Was macht Photoshop CS beim Speichern als JPG?

I restarted Photoshop several times and now ists working correctly. Sorry, I should have tested that first before posting here :-(

  • Saving photoshop project as JPG the file gets saved in an un-recoginsed format, Can Anyone Help?

    Hi Everyone,
I have been happily using photoshop for a couple of years and have never had to ask for help before but this issue is troubling me.
Basically I open a jpg file for editing in photoshop elements and then use "save as" to save my edited project as a jpg with a new filename in a local picture folder.
My new file however shows as
    File Type: File
It will not open! the file wants me to associate a program to open it with and If I select photoshop to open the file I get a warning dialogue "Cannot open 2.5 3 Core TQ Rubber Flex because it is the wrong type of file"
This is the version of photoshop and my system info
Adobe Photoshop Elements Language Version: 10.0.0 (10.0 (20110831.m.17215))
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
Here is an example of one of these image files as seen on my pc
This has happend with several files that I have edited since mid morning today but before that I didnt seem to have a problem.
Hope someone can help with this. I did do some searches but couldn't find anyone else describing the same issue.
    Thanks in anticipation,
    Barney in the UK

    Thankyou so much
You are absolutly right, all the files I have worked on today have been cables and I have been using their CSA size expressed in millimetres as part of the file name.
    Have a great weekend,
    Cheers

  • Open a pdf in Photoshop CS5 shows jpg - but no grafic

I have a handbook opened in Photoshop CS5 and I can see the jpg images of the handbook.
But not the grafic scematic images.
I am not aware if these are in svg or whatever.
How can I get access to those grafics?
Yes, I may open a page and copy a grafic,
but I would like to get the original content.
    Thanks,

If you are opening a PDF in Photoshop and having a problem, then the Photoshop forum is the place to ask. This has noothing to do with Acrobat.

  • Frame7.1 wont import Photoshop CS5.1 .jpg file

I am (reluctantly) in the process of migrating from Windows XP +
    Photoshop CS V8.0 to Windows 7/64bit + Photoshop CS5.1.
Framemaker 7.1 works well in both XP and W7/64, including generating
PDFs. I can import .jpg files written by Photoshop CS. Etc.
    ... except...
If I open a known-good (already imported) .jpg file using Photoshop
CS5.1 and, without making any changes, save it, Framemaker can no
longer import it, neither directly or by reference:
"The filter encountered an error and could not complete the
        translation".
It appears the Photoshop CS5.1 writes a different .jpg file format
than Photoshop CS (rhetorical: how can it be acceptable for CS5.1 to
change the format of a basic .jpg file? but I digress...).
Examining the original .jpg file vs. the CS5 .jpg file I find:
    - The new file is smaller (79KB vs. 82KB) - note both are small!
    - The contents (examined using a binary editor) are quite different.
    - Both versions display identically, in both CS and CS5.1 and in
       various viewers.
I have tried various experiments trying to understand this and have
had no luck. I can open the CS5 .jpg file in Photoshop CS and save it
again but Framemaker will not open this version either, same error.
This is not a RAM size issue (8GB), swap space issue, or anything else
related to the computer hardware. All SW updates are current, etc.
I have tried importing into a new, default template file, etc.
So, I tried saving as .bmp and the first time I tried to import it
Framemaker died immediately: no stack trace, no error messages, the
Frame process was just gone. After restarting, the 2nd attempt I got a
black rectangle of the correct size, but all black = not usable.
Photoshop CS + Framemaker has worked well for many years, so I know
    this is a CS5 issue.
Anyone have any ideas on how to make CS5.1 generate a "standard" .jpg
    file?
Anyone have any ideas on how to import CS5.1 images using
    Framemaker 7.1?
Please don't advocate upgrading Framemaker to V10... Adobe provides zero
information on migration (from any version) and the last time we did
this cost us many man-months of work to "fix" 14K+ pages in 50+
manuals. We will stay with XP/CS and "eat" the new W7/CS5 system
    before we move to FM10.
    Thanks
    Previously (everything works)
      Windows XP/SP3
      Photoshop CS V8.0
      Framemaker 7.1P116, non-structured
    Today:
      Windows 7/64bit SP1
      Photoshop CS5.1
      Framemaker 7.1P116, non-structured

AG: IIRC, the FM7.1 JPG filter only reads the older JFIF header format JPG files, while the CS5 Photoshop and many other applications write EXIF headers in the JPG (yes , the standard evolved).
We also had a problem with JPEG 5 (legacy) vs. JPEG 2000 (newer) encoding, not in FM, but in the rendered PDFs at our print shop. The Xerox engine needed an update to fix that.
Using JPEGs in FM has various considerations, some already mentioned in this thread. But the biggest concern, in my view, is cascading compression damage. JPEG compression is always "lossy", and the artifacts at higher compression, or after successive compressions, are often visually distracting (and may be aggravated if sharpening is also applied). Even at NO compression, there are losses due to the transforms
Unless you are shooting .RAW, your camera is compressing from frame buffer to JPEG. When you re-save from your photo editor, regardless of edits, it gets re-compressed if saved to JPEG. When you render to PDF, it may get both down-samped and re-compressed again depending on PDF settings. If you post-process (optimize or reduce file size) in Acrobat, it can get down-sampled and re-compressed again.
So I shoot JPEG with as little compression as possible (RAW has other considerations). I edit in PhotoShop and save as EPS, which is a very inefficient format space-wise, but is UNcompressed*, and is a very efficient format both performance- and stability-wise in FM. I save the EPS at the resolution desired in the PDF (usually 200 dpi). Yes, it does get (and needs to be) re-compressed during Distill, but we've skipped one needless re-comp, and avoided another down-sample. We don't further optimize in Acrobat post because the images are already optimal.
EPS also supports both RGB and CMYK models, whereas JPEG is strictly RGB (or, beware: indexed color). And EPS is generally unmolested by Mr.Bill's GDI, which is crucial for color-managed CMYK.
    * TIFF can also be uncompressed, and CMYK, but can be a performance issue in FM.
The Wiki page for JPEG, btw, is presently vandalized:
"The name "JPEG" stands for Joint Photosaic Experts Group, the name of the committee that created the JPEG standard and also other standards. It was discovered by <likely name of vandal redacted> of the Philippines."

  • Photoshop Elements 3 jpg not viewable by PC users

Sigh. I don't get it. I did this great stuff with Photoshop Elements 3, saved it as a jpg file, and tried to email the picture to a friend. It looked fine in the email on my end. When I open Mail and look at what I sent, the picture is there. My friend got the email...but no picture. What happened?

It's important that the name carries the suffix
".jpg" (you don't say whether you have done this or
    not).
Yes...I thought of that afterwards and checked my sentmail. It was the ".jpg" file that I had sent.
You also have the option in Mail to send "windows
friendly" attachments - this is the check box at the
bottom of the attachments pane/window. This will
prevent you sending the extra "._xxx" file that is
specific to Macs, and can be mistaken for the real
    file by the PC user.
OOOOOOHHHHHHH!! I missed that. Thanks. Good to know. If they say they couldn't read my last attempt, I'll look for that and try again.

  • Photoshop cs3 opens jpg in camera raw? help me

    Hi
    in the preferences file handling
-> i setup prefer camera raw for jpg unchecked
->i setup prefer camera raw for supported raw files
so photoshop opens only the raw files in camera and the other in normal mode
but there is a photo in jpg  that photoshop cs3 persist, insist to open in camera raw!!
    why?
    how can i clean it?
i mean open ths jpg in normal mode
    thanks

Also, you can let it Open in Camera RAW. Do any editing necessary there, and then Save, choosing JPEG. Does that resulting file now Open fine in PS?
Could be somethng in its header that is telling PS to Open in Camera RAW, regardless of its file extension.
    Good luck,

  • Edit original in photoshop : raw vs jpg

    Hi,
my problem : when I modify a raw file in LR, and then do some corrections in Photoshop, when I come back to LR, all the initial LR modifications are now made permanent to the image and no way back.
I did not have that problem with jpg files where I followed that process:  I modify them in LR, and then choose the "modify a copy" option when going from LR to Photoshop. Then  I do my corrections in photoshop on the copy, and when I go back in lightroom, I copy all the settings from the non-modified initial picture to the Photoshop-modified copy. So I end up with a picture including the Photoshop modificiation, but where I can still change the initial LR editing.
Any idea how to follow similar process for raw file (I use CR2 Canon format for Raw) ?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Julien

If you start in LR, crop a raw file, do an Edit In PS, you will have only the cropped image in PS, not the un-cropped original file, so I’m not sure I follow the rest of the question.
Does it help that you can create a virtual copy or a raw file in LR, reset all your LR edits (or just the crop) on the copy, then do an Edit In PS on that copy and so you’ll have the original with LR edits, the virtual copy possibly without some or all LR edits, and then any result you save back from PS.

  • Is there anyway to Edit in Photoshop as a JPG image

When clicking on Edit in Photoshop, the only format options seem to be PSD or TIFF for transfer to Ps.  Is there a way to specify that the images be converted to JPG and then transferred to Ps for editing?
I know that I can do a "normal" export as JPG and then open Ps to edit but that does not automatically return the edited images to Lr in the same directory (folder) that they were stored in.
    Thanks

Thanks.  Here is the situation and the solutions I came up with.  I needed to make some text and other additions that cannot be done in Lr but send the image in JPG format.
Solution 1 - export the image as JPG to the same directory the RAW image is in and sync the folder.  Then select the image and edit in Ps to add the text and other embellishments and save the image from Ps.
Solution 2 - edit in Ps, add the text and other embellishments and then export as JPG from Lr.
I choose #2 as the way to go.
You were exactly right in your response, that is why I marked it as answered, but there are times when it might be useful to directly convert to JPG and edit in Ps in a single operation for the example I cited above.
    Thanks again.

  • Verknüpfung Photoshop 12 mit JPG unter Windows 8.1

    Hallo zusammen,

  • Photoshop Opening Glitchy Jpg's and Psd's

    Recently upgraded to Yosemite
    Running CC 2014
Periodically opens both jpg and pads and shows them all garbled.
Have to Quit completely and reopen to fix.
Usually will look something like this:
I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but it still will do it.
It won't do it ALL the time, but frequent enough where it's a pain the hiney...
    Anyone else with this problem...?
    my specs:

it is the actual screen, tools are fine, you can still move around and open menus fine too...
just the actual image is garbled...
it's weird as it doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes it looks like the garbled image is made up of past opened files too,
    so I thought maybe it's a memory/cache issue....but purging doesn't seem to help
only quitting the program and re-opening...
my coworker is experiencing the exact same phenomenon as she just upgraded too
not sure how to mess with the AGP you mentioned...

  • How do I save a photoshop jpg as a "PictureViewer" jpg document?

How do I save a photoshop jpg image as a universal "PictureViewer" jpg document?

Just did some tests. And I am starting to understand a few things.
I was using Photoshop 6 on my old apple quad. Yes, I know, 12 year old stuff. I have just upgraded to Adobe CC application on my new mac.
When saving an image from photo shop as a jpg, I did not see, and still do not see, the picture viewer icon I am used to seeing on a jpg image from my old mac. Photoshop 6 saved jpgs only as photoshop jpgs.
I just ran some tests. Saved some logos and pictures as jpg’s from the new CC Photoshop. When I import them into my old mac, I see the Picture Viewer Icon. And when I click on any of these, it opens in Picture Viewer. Tells me you are correct. Photoshop is saving the jpg images as the universal Picture Viewer JPGs.
I guess I was expecting to see a "save as Picture Viewer” option from the Photoshop "save as" menu. And when I did not see the picture viewer icon for the new saved jpg image, I assumed it was still saving this as a photoshop jpg.
Thanks for prompting me to do some homework and test a few things out.
I thought that the new photoshop should be able to save jpgs in the picture viewer realm, but had to run a few tests to see the actual result on an older computer for this to sink in and recognize the result.
Thanks for your time and patience Silkrooster.

  • Photoshop file will not save as jpg

I took a series of portraits from a session last week. We downloaded the images as jpgs and edited them in Photoshop. Then we converted the photoshop files into jpgs. All but two converted. Those two images had nothing different done with them. Same processes all the way through.  It is saying, "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
Why would two select PS files not convert to jpg?
We have had done this same process with hundreds of sessions, but this is now happening. Two images from the last session did the same thing as well. Other than that, we've never had this issue.

"Program Error" means something unexpected happened.
It could be a problem with the OS, the disk drive, or something really bizarre in the image metadata.
