Photoshop 7 no longer opens files

After using Ps 7.0 for a couple of months on my new Win 7 PC, it has stopped opening files. I can make it open one jpg file by deleting the preferences file, but then it won't open second file. It also won't start a new blank file. I updated it to 7.0.1, but that didn't do anything.
An odd thing that might be related: when I'm in the file manager and double-click on an image file to open it with the default viewer (one of the Microsoft viewers that came with the the computer), it sometimes doesn't work - it does nothing. Because it's also a problem opening files, I thought it was worth mentioning. Photoshop opens the program, but doesn't open files. It doesn't matter if I right-click in the file manager and try "open with", or go to Ps and try to open a file. It doesn't matter if it's a previously opened file that I try to select from the recent file list.

Try trashing any preference files Elements creates: user/Library/Preferences. Other than that try re-installing the software. You could also ask on the Adobe forum area at their web site.

You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

Using PSE 10 on Windows. Can no longer open files in PSE 10?

Have used PSE 10 successfully for quite awhile. Can no longer open files in this program. Choose, "open file" in PSE 10 and nothing happens.

Dreamweaver CS3 no longer opens files

I am not sure where to post this, so I will post here - already have a question open on the Dreamweaver forums.
I have run into an unusual problem. I can no longer open files either on my local machine or remote server without Dreamweaver CS3 freezing. I am using OS X Leopard - 10.5.2 on an Intel MacBook Pro. A week or so ago I was able to open my .asp files just fine. Now, Dreamweaver simply freezes when I try and open them - either locally or remotely. I tried deleted the preferences file and removing site information from Manage Sites with no luck. I can create and open new files, but cannot open the existing files.
I copied the files in question to a PC and opened them just fine using Dreamweaver 8.02. I just don't know enough about the technical aspects to properly troubleshoot this problem. I already tried reinstalling also.
By the way, I am able to access, open and edit my files from the remote server using my PC and version 8.02.
Any ideas?

DW CS3 no longer opens files from SourceSafe

Dreamweaver CS3 no longer opens files from Visual SourcesSafe
2005 when you right-click and choose to View with DW, even if DW is
the registered application.
DW receives the focus, but nothing happens.
This used to function with DW 8. I have tried it on two
machines, both of which were fresh installs, so could not be
conflicting with DW 8 in anyway.

before using for all entries in, u need to check whether the driver internal table is empty, if it is empty, u should not enter into select statement.

Photoshop Cs5 not opening files

I'm not actually completely sure if this is an issue with Mavericks because the problem started about 2 1/2 weeks ago, but my Photoshop Cs5 won't open files anymore. As soon as the app launches, I can click on "open..." but as I'm selecting the file, the window will close and after that, every choice on all the drop-down menus is grayed out and can no longer be selected. I've already installed Java for OS X 2012-006 with no luck, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PS Cs5 with no luck. Help pleaseeeeeee D:

Uninstalling and reinstalling WON'T do that unless you used the CS Cleaner from Adobe to uninstall.
Also, check your Performance preferences:
Toggle OpenGL drawing, quitting Photoshop between changes.

Can Photoshop CS5.1 open files created/saved in CS6?

I work in a collaborative environment. I've upgraded to CS6, but those i work with are working in photoshop cs5.1. Will they have problems opening files i create or save in CS6?

I don't know that I can offer a better long answer, nor do I know of any published list of things you can save in a Photoshop CS6 document that won't open properly in an earlier version. I have tried a few things myself, like creating shapes, text, etc. and found that Photoshop CS5 sees them all just fine. But it's not hard to think of things that wouldn't work, such as putting a brand new filter as a smart filter in a document.
Just using the cool new features would not necessarily net you incompatibility. For example, doing a Content Aware Move or one of the new blurs just manipulate pixels, and at the end of the day the layer will just have pixels on it, which every version of Photoshop has known about all along.
Things like recording brush strokes in an action and trying to run the action on an earlier Photoshop would yield incompatibility, because older versions wouldn't know how to play such brush strokes back.
There is a "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility" setting in the File Handling preferences, and the implication is that others will always be at the very least able to open a flattened version of the document, but I'm not sure that covers every case of individual incompatibility between recent versions of Photoshop. I've never had occasion to test it out thoroughly.
Maybe one of the Adobe people can speak to this in more detail.
Do you still have a copy of Photoshop CS5 installed? If so, and you're not sure about whether your PSD file is going to be compatible, you could of course try it yourself to be sure.

Bridge no longer opens files using ACR!

I do have ACDSee Pro Photo Manager and perhaps this mucked with my installation.
I can no longer open pictures in ACR -- it defaults all formats to ACDSee Pro. Even though the preference is set to use ACR, no matter what I do ACR will not open in Bridge.
I have same problem with JPEG, DNG and ORF
How do I tell Bridge to use ACR again?

I have all the file types I want associates with Photoshop CS3.
If I double-click either a DNG or ORF, Bridge opens Photoshop CS3 first and then opens the file in ACR
If I double-click on a JPG, it opens it up directly in Photoshop CS3 and bypasses ACR completely even though I have the preference to use ACR set
Right now, the only way to open up a file I want in ACR is to right click on the thumbnail and choose open in ACR from the context menu. The ability to double-click and open in ACR is gone at this point.
Does anyone know how the context menu "open in Camera Raw" menu work? Maybe I can trick bridge somehow

Photoshop enlarges all open files when I magnify a file. How can i get it to only magnify one file

When I use the magnifying glass to enlarge my file in photoshop cs3, all of my open files magnify at the same time. I only want one of them to enlarge. This started happening when I bought a new Macbook pro and installed OSX10.6.5. Does anyone know how I can fix it so only the file I am working on enlarges? sometimes I want to compare a smaller file to a larger file and I can no longer do that in Photoshop.

There is an option on the Zoom tool to "Zoom All Windows". This is just a check mark in the tool options bar, next to the "Resize Windows To Fit" option, directly under the Menu bar. Simply deselect this option.

My photoshop will not open files or create new files, please help?

Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 will not work,
When machine is first started the program works, for about 10 mins, then
I can not open files, create new ones. When it does work it can not perform functions like transform etc.
I tried disabling third party plug ins
I tried creating a new account on my machine
Nothing seems to work.
Can any one shed some light on the problem?

Numbers on iPad no longer opens files from iCloud

My wife uses her computer to update client files for work (running Mavericks), and her iPhone (iOS7). The problem now is that she uses the iPad during work hours while she is working with clients. We have the original iPad, which cannot update to iOS7, and so it cannot update to the newest version of Numbers. The iPad no longer opens any files that she edits on her computer or phone because they are both updated to the newer version of numbers.
The iPad is her primary need though for the files to work on, so how do we get files to open on the iPad and stay compatible even if edited on her phone or computer. This was never a problem before, but now that iOS7 has automatic updates, her numbers updated to the newest version and she can't go back. Even if we got the older version installed...I assume that the automatic updates would just update it again.
Is there anyway to get this sorted out so that the files just stay in the old format? Or so that the original iPad can open them?

Photoshop does not open files, nor able to create new documents

Has happened at least once before;
* open file in Photoshop seems normal up until actually rendering the window where the document should be visible; no UI shows for the opened window
* same goes with File -> New; dialog visible, I can select file size and other settings, but when confirming - I do not get a document window opened
No obvious changes to my system lately except a new version of Flash Player installed at last reboot.
Illustrator and InDesign not affected (open and new works as expected)

Illustrator no longer opens files or saves changes w/ Mac

Since I downloaded a new Security Update (Snow Leapord 10.6.8) I can no longer open new files in Illustrator. Also when I open old files they will no longer save to PDF. Anybody else see this issue?

After an Automatic Adobe Update, Photoshop crashes on opening files

I just did the automatic adobe update to photoshop (CS3) and now I crash on opening files (file-open....crash!)
I tried deleting the preferences file, still crashes in the same place
I have un installed the program, reinstalled from the original program disc (not done the update) and it still is crashing.
I haave a Macbook pro with 2.33 Intel core 2 Duo processor, and am running 10.5.6
Any ideas?

You really need to be running the updated version of CS3. If its crashing in the new user its probably a system thing.
I would run Diskwarrior or Apple's Disk Utility from the DVD. then I would update the System to 10.5.7 with the 10.5.7 Combo updater downloaded from the Apple website.
