Photoshop activation

I bought photoshop but when I start the program a window appears with trial period expired. bought a licence
how to solve it?

You should have a proper internet connection available while activating the photoshop license.
And if the problem still remains then please cross check if the license has not been used on any other machine  and drop a mail to the support.

  • PHOTOSHOP ACTIVATION NOT WORKING

I bought lightroom and photoshop package subscription for a YEAR. Lightroom is running fine but PHOTOSHOP ran only for 30 DAYS and it is supposed to be running for A WHOLE YEAR! Can anyone help me out on how to get PHOTOSHOP activated properly for this ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION?????

Elio I would recommend that you first verify that your subscription is active.  Please see Manage your membership and payments | Creative Cloud - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/membership-subscription-troubleshooting- creative-cloud.html for information on how to check your subscription status.
Once you have confirmed that your subscription is active then please choose the License This Software option and enter the Adobe ID tied to your membership.  Do you receive any specific errors once you have signed in?

  • CS2 Premium reinstalling Adobe Photoshop activation problems

    To: Adobe.com
    From: Paul Sacca
    [email protected]
    Subject: CS2 Premium
    To Whomever it Concerns,
After recently upgrading my computer's CPU, Memory and Graphics it became necessary to singularly reinstall my Adobe Photoshop (inc. Illustrator & Bridge) since I don't use the other members of the CS2 Premium Suite I made this a custom installation. Everything is working correctly with the exception of my Adobe Activation Warning System.
As you know Adobe no longer supports the CS2 Product you sold me which is your decision regardless of my belief of how good customer service should work. Your Web Site Trouble Shooting Guide states:
Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.
I did legitimately purchase this product and once again I disagree with Adobe and wish to continue using my CS2 Photoshop, Illustrator & Bridge.
Am I to ignore your Warning System continually as I use my product? Is there another way to peacefully resolve this conflict? or Are you going to make this ugly and insist I buy yet another updated Adobe Product that you will still continue to support (for the time being)? My wish is simply to continue using my Photoshop without threats or problems from Adobe...can you help?
    Paul Sacca

You can keep using CS2 without further cost. It just requires a few steps to remove the activation version and replace it with the non-activation version.
    Uninstall your CS2.
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Download the non-activation version of CS2 from the above link. It's valid for CS and CS2 owners.
Install then enter the new non-activation serial number provided at that link. Your existing CS2 serial number will no longer work.

  • Photoshop activation on a new computer.

I own Photoshop CS. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's old. But I bought it. Actually paid for it. During a time when everyone seemed to have a copy of one version or another (in pirated form), I actually went out, and paid for it. My wife and I were at a convention in Las Vegas, and we purchased it directly from Adobe, at their display in a huge  convention building with painted dancing girls, whole football fields set up for the purpose of showing how green Fuji photos could make grass look, and small airplanes were flying around... Really. Anyway, we bought it, from a gal in a giant rotating tower of people working with Photoshop, showing on a myriad of screens all the wonders they were creating with this revolutionary product...
We went home, loaded that bad boy on our computer, and entered the world of the digital darkroom.  Yesterday, I bought a new computer, with the sole purpose being to provide the memory-hungry Photoshop program an amount of memory it might be satisfied with. Quad-core processor, 750 GB hard drive, and 8 gigs of RAM. To some, a pretty powerful computer. Today, anyway.
I loaded the software, and got the usual "Activation within a month or you can't use it" message. I tried, limbering up my fingers to enter the mile-long serial number on the back of my ancient jewel case. It said "Sorry, activation not available, call this number for activation". So, dutifully, I did as instructed. This time, I was required to enter said mile-long number on my phone, always fun, tiny touch screen button... gotta love 'em. Then, it gave me a number to enter back into the computer to complete the process. I did that, and then, it said "Sorry, we no longer do activation by phone. Go to this web site: www.Adobe.com.go.activate" Went there, and was told to chat with a live representative. I did that, and was told "your only option is the $19.99/mo subscription". Um, the what? I paid $550 bucks for this program, and now, years later, if i want to keep using it, you want me to pay you twenty bucks a month, forever? Not for tech support. Not for upgrades. Just because you want some more money. Is that right? Seriously??
Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy? Is this even LEGAL???? Is there any way to make Photoshop just turn off the activation thing, and leave me alone? All I want to do is use what I bought and paid for. It's like buying a car, and ten years later, the car company says , "Hey if you want to keep driving this car, you'll have to send us monthly payments, or it won't run anymore".
    Help...?

Charles stebbins I would recommend contacting our support team directly to verify the serial number was never registered.  You can contact our support team at Contact Customer Care.  An Adobe ID was required to activate the software so it is likely that the serial number was registered under a particular e-mail address.  You can request that your account be searched for by e-mail address and/or phone number.

Been trying for an hour to activate my Adobe Photoshop.  Went to www.adobe.com/go/getserial. and can't get my serial number no matter what prompts I utilize.  I purchased at Best Buy and they said I would have to go online to activate.  What gives here.  Didn't have this problem when I activated Adobe Premier Elements 10.  Help?

Do you have a Mac version of PS and want to put in on a Windows machine?  If that is the case, you have to buy a new version of Photoshop.  If you want to add PS to another Mac Machine, you need to contact Adobe since you can't deactivate your current version of PS on the broken computer.

  • Photoshop- Active layer not highlighted

I work in photoshop everyday and i know that when a layer in the layer panel is active it is highlighted. For some unknown reason, it is currently not highlighting the layer i am on in photoshop. I tride  googling it and searching the adobe online guide. Neither talks about what happens when the active layer won't highlight. Does anyone know of a way to fix it? Attached is an image of my photoshop not highlighting the layer i am working on.

If a problem like that just shows up and you have not done anything out of the ordinary with Photoshop or your OS, I strongly suspect corrupt Photoshop preference file, a common problem.
    Here's how to reset them:
    Close Photoshop
Hold down cmd-opt-shift and start Photoshop. When the "delete settings" dialog shows up, click on "Yes" and allow Photoshop to load.
Let me know how it went.

  • CS3 Photoshop: activation woes

My old Mac laptop, which was running Photoshop CS3, died.  In copying over the HD to a partioned drive on my iMac (OS 10.6.8), PS asked for activation which can no longer be done on line or or over the phone.  The Adobe help desk suggested removing and re-installing PS, which I did, using the original PS .dmg file purchased from Adobe.  Still stuck at the activation window and my most recent conversation with Adobe has them telling me the problem may rest with the image I'm using and to find a CS3 disc or new download (which Adobe does not have)cs.  Pretty lame.  So any further suggestions would be helpful.  I doubt being able to find an installation disc easily, so at this point I have a piece of unusable software from a company that's washed it's hands of responsibilty.

If installing on a new drive it may be asking for the qualifying procduct s/n.  If you updated from CS2 that is the s/n to type in.  Then it will ask for CS3 s/n.
Also, you are allowed ony 2 activated copies.  The one on the dead computer is still considered activated copy unless you are able to get in there and deactivate.  If you have had 2 activated copies in the past and never deactivated either one this may be the problem.
Only customer service can reset the activation process.

  • Photoshop Activation Question

    Hi,
Sorry in advance if this has been asked before...
I think the EULA for CS3 allows for installing CS3 on 2 machines as long as the 2 installations of CS3 aren't being used at the same time. When I go to install it on my 2nd PC, when it comes to Activation, it says I've maxed out my Activations.  Am I supposed to keep Deactivating from one PC and Re-Activate on the 2nd PC each time I want to use it?
I really don't think I ever installed CS3 on any other of my machines, or if I ever did I know I uninstalled it, because I don't have CS3 anywhere, except for one PC.
    Any help appreciated!

  • Photoshop Offline Activation

    Hello,
I'm not using any Adobe product yet, but I'd like to buy PS CS5. Before I'll invest in such an expensive program (at least for hobby use only) I have one importand question I want to clarify: due to security reasons, my main computer is always offline and has no internet connection at all. Is it possible to get Photoshop activated in a different way (maybe via telephone, etc.) or is it just not possible to use PS with an computer that is always offline? My research didn't get me a certain answer on that and I want to get sure before I'll buy PS. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your fast response.
Unfortunatly the telephone activation is just mentioned for CS3 and older versions. The only hint I found about the newer versions is:
    Activate CS5, CS4, and Acrobat 9
In CS5, CS4, and Acrobat 9, activation occurs silently in the background after installation. In CS5, activation occurs at some variable time after the system detects an Internet connection.
So I'm not sure what happens if PS won't get an Internet connection. The worst thing would be that it would get locked (or something like that) after a certain period.

  • Windows 8 Release Preview/Photoshop CS6 Licensing issue

I bought and installed Photoshop CS6 on Windows Consumer Preview and it worked flawlessly. I then installed Windows 8 Release Preview. This had to be a clean install. I didn't know I had to deactivate Photoshop before doing the clean install. Installed without a problem. Now when I try and run CS6 it says that the license has expired. I have done all the web and Adobe support told me to do but still has the same issue. Other than waht this article says: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-licensing-product-expired-cs4.html Adobe support isn't interested in helping.
    Can anybody help?

I do know there's at least one person on this forum who is using Windows 8 (Kelly is I believe his name) and has gotten Photoshop activated properly.
I've been testing Windows 8 for the past several days (in virtual machines).  Microsoft has actually made it worse to use in the release version.  They've completely removed Aero Glass, for example, so now everything just looks flat and lifeless.  I've written a book that describes how to configure and augment the OS so as to get work done with it.  But I'm not sure people are going to want to upgrade to it wiith it looking this bad!
Have you tried removing Photoshop CS6 and using the Creative Suite Removal Tool to clean remnants of it up, then reinstalling?  I'm sure the telephone support people would have suggested that; I'm just confirming.
Only thing I can imagine is that Windows 8's UAC system is somehow getting in the way of Photoshop retaining its activation data.  It's no longer possible, using the Windows 8 UI, to completely disable UAC, though it is still possible to do it through registry manipulation (something best done by power users and system gurus).  If one does apps will no longer run in the "UI formerly known as Metro" - which suits me fine, but may not be good for most folks.
Have you tried running the installer As Administrator?

  • Photoshop CS5.1 and Lion Server (MacMini Mid 2011)

    Hello community,
I have a very big problem using Photoshop CS5.1 (Mac Mini Server-Edition Mid 2011, Lion 10.7.2) - there are several mouse-pointer issues when I try to work with brushes or stamps. Depending on the size of the brush it's not shown the correct way. The icon does not show the brush itself and when I try to use the brush the mouse pointer is not the center of the brush but the uper left corner. If I zoom into the image it's possible that the same brush is working the way it should be but if I zoom out the brush does not work again. The issue seems to depend on brush size and zoom-factor of the image.
My idea for better understanding of the problem was to record the screen activity with QuickTime. I did but as I watched the recorded photoshop activity looked perfect (allthough it did not as I recorded the actions). Now I recorded the screen activity with a movie camera, just to show, what's wrong here. Please excuse the not so perfect video quality...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzLJFDOWLWo
    It's annoying.
Very similar problem in Lightroom, mouse pointer do not work the correct way depending on brush size (brish icon is not shown in image depending on size).
Adobe does not offer support for the Server-Edition. Apple does not allow to install 10.6 on Mac Mini Mid 2011 (on my MBP Early 2011 PS CS 5.1 runs without such problems). Something's going wrong here.
I need a solution, Photoshop CS5.1 is not useable under 10.7.2 Server. Anyone may help?
    Thank you.
    André

    Hello Doug,
thank you for your answer. First of all: Adobe says that it's an Apple problem. Apple says that I'm not allowed to install any other OS than Lion Server on my machine - even the "normal" Lion OS seems to be not allowed.
For me as a customer this situation is not very satisfying - I try to run a 1500$ software suite on a 1000$ Apple computer and it does not work, but nobody even tries to solve this issue. Adobe offers no support, Apple offers no bug fixes.
This problem, btw, also appears when a MacBook Air is used. Even some MacBook Pros seem to be unable to run Phootshop CS5.1 under Lion. For me this does not look like an Lion server-issue.
