Photoshop Album SE won't open, won't work

I have downloaded and installed several times. The license comes up and I accept. Then Photoshop Album SE logo comes onscreen but it never initializes or opens. Just sits there. I go to CTRL-ALT-DEL and see that it is "Not responding," so have to End Task. -- It never gives me a chance to register and get an unlock code. Any suggestions?

Hi, Jim. I used a desktop PC, WindowsXP, and Internet Explorer. I have downloaded three different times rather than just re-installing the DL that didn't work. Each of those times, before re-installing, I went to Add/Remove and did a repair, but to no avail. Then went back to Add/Remove and got rid of the non-working one. Also used Registry Optimizer to clean out any left overs. Then downloaded a fresh zipped copy and installed anew. But always same result. Which was seeing the opening logo screen with tiny writing on the bottom that said "Initializing model" --- but never anything else.
Taskmanager said program was "Not responding." -- I read the Forum and saw suggestion to hold down CTRL key while loading the program. Did that. Nothing. -- Thanks for your interest.

Try to force quit the app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.

Itunes won't open, won't force quit, won't anything

This problem started about a month ago and now it's critical.
When I click the itunes icon, it bounces and then freezes. itunes won't open. It also won't force quit. I can't shut down because, it says, itunes won't quit. I have to hold down the power button 7 seconds to shut down and then restart. My IT guy at work (who is a Mac person) showed me how to repair permissions and the first half dozen or so times this happened, that worked. Now it won't. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. I've tried reinstalling and repairing permissions. I've rebooted and repaired and reinstalled.
This is the kind of thing I switched from PCs to get away with.
Does anyone have any ideas? I really need to be able to use itunes.

Here are some basic to try in turn, see if any one will help:
Ensure that you have the latest version of the OS and Quicktime and iTunes.
1. Delete the com.apple.iTunes.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
2. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

Lightroom CS 5.5 Catalog Won't Open - So much work lost.

My Most important Lightroom CS5.5 Catalog won't open. I have a Mac. I guess it didn't shut down properly. I called support and was not allowed to speak with technical support. I have hundreds of hours of work which are lost if I cannot open it. The error says: "Unexpected error opening catalog. The catalog could not be opened due to an unexpected error."
Please help. I don't know what to do.

I am at work on Windows right now, not on my mac at home ... but you should have a whole bunch of backup catalogs in your Lightroom folder. I can't give you the exact location, but they are there ... in fact, in your screen shot there is the backup folder right there.
Start with the most recent backup and try to open, and go backward from there until you find one that opens up.
(Assuming of course you backup your catalog. I have LR setup to ask me once a day).
If you have time machine set up, go back and grab a recent catalog.

Suddenly today some entries on my pc icloud calendar can't be accessed/edited - they just won't open. Some work, others don't. (All OK if l try to do it on iphone/ipad) All worked fine till today

I find today when I open my icloud calendar on my PC that I cannot access/edit some of the entries - some are fine, others just won't open. If I click on them, they open a 'new entry' box, but will not give me access to the original entry.
If I go to my iphone or ipad, I can access them all fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled icloud on my PC, but still the same thing happens.
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

Mail Won't Open (but menus work and email still being received)

I am a leopard (10.5.1) user on a mac book pro 17. No major problems since install until the other day when mail refuses to open up (from dock or via applications). I can access all the menus, see the mail count in the dock and even open a new mail from the menu bar from there but just can't see what my inbox is doing as it won't open up in a screen. It bounces but just won't open up.
Email is clearly working as its receiving and i can see these if i access via library files.
Has any one heard of this problem? Have checked the forum and can't see the exact problem there. Do i need to re-install mail? If so, how?

i think i'll have to do a custom install from disk. is there anything i need to do/be aware of with the mail folder before i do the install? should i leave it in homefolder/library (once i've backed it up that is)?
will the new mail app just `talk` to the old mail folder once installed?
just want to avoid any probs and getting myself into further tangles once i do this.

I was using my macbook normally cheking some websites, and decided to see my mail, i clicked on it and it did open, no screen came up but at the same time i can't quit it, or move it out of the dock, i tried restarting the macbook , but it won't let me do it because the mail app is no allowing it. this is the first time i have problem with mail and i don't know why this is happening..........

CS6 beta won't open anymore. Worked great for 3 days. Did it expire already?

I installed this week (PC, Windows 7), and had no trouble. But now when I try to open it, whether from Bridge (which still works fine) or through applications menu, or any other way, it hangs on the opening screen and won't let me click "continue trial," although all the other buttons work (e.g., enter serial number, click through to forums, etc.). Anyone else having this problem?

I assume you downloaded from http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/ and correctly selected TRY when installing rather than entering a serial number.
It would be hepful if you could answer these questions:
Did you enter your Adobe ID or skip that part? (must be done within 7 days with system online)
Did you get a message when trying to run the program today?
What did it say?
Did you alter the clock or the date?

The front and the rear camera are two different things. One can work and not the other. It is not unusual, it happened to my daughter's phone. Try a reset on the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo. If that doesn't help, you can try a restore, first from a backup and if no help, then as a new phone. If no joy, then make an appointment with the Apple store.

Mail bounces a few times but won't open, other apps work.

OK, I searched the forums and can't find an answer related to this for mail (found it for itunes, safari, etc). I am sure this is a mundane thing but to my computer simple mind, I am stuck.
My husband ran a Safari update. Since then the mail icon bounces but will not open. All other apps work. I trashed (and emptied) all the Safari stuff. I ran disk utlities repair. I inserted the startup disk, holding key "c" and did a hard drive repair and I got nothing.
How do I get my mail back on track??? Anyone???

You have doe the Disk "Repair", which is the first (and harder) part. The second part is the "Repair Permissions". It is much easier because it can be done "live" in the running system.
Quit all other Applications and run Disk Utility.
Select your Hard drive and check the SMART Drive status in the bottom margin for "Verified"
Click on ( Repair permisions)
wait while lots of wacky message scroll by. These can safely be ignored unless they appear in RED.
Quit Disk Utility
try to start Mail again.

SAFARI WON'T OPEN [ but firefox works fine ]

not sure what could be causing this...i tried what some other posts on the same issue suggested, ie opened safari in an another account [ it opened ] also tried getting rid of possible corrupted cookies ... no help at all ,,, does anybody have any ideas? could this be some problem with a software update i did [ i am wondering if downloading updates that are really for the new macs will screw up the older macs like mine ]

2009 MBP cd slot won't open - drutil not working either

Hey all,
My wife's 15inch Macbook Pro mid 2009 running Lion's superdrive slot stopped accepting discs. I was able to fix it a few weeks ago with Terminal drutil open or drutil eject but now nothing will work.
There is nothing IN the drive right now, but can't get anything in.
Short of taking it in for repair/replace... is there anything else I should try? I can't find any type of paperclip hole.

Sounds as if the SuperDrive has just given up the ghost.
You should take the machine into your local Apple Store and have them give you an estimate to fix the drive. If it means replacing the drive, that's something you can do yourself (and it will be quite cheaper than the Apple estimate).
If the drive does need replacing, shop at OWC for the correct drive for your model. They will also have installation videos.

Firefox won't open (though Explorer works fine) and I can't uninstall the program.

The problem started with Firefox saying it couldn't display the webpage. Explorer worked, so I knew it wasn't my internet. I checked, and I am not using a proxy, so that's not the issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, but then when I clicked on Firefox nothing at all happened. Now I can't uninstall Firefox. I also tried running Firefox in safe mode, and that doesn't work either.

The OP asked this question 9 months ago and 850 other people have this problem. Why hasn't Firefox Support answered this question or commented?

Photoshop (CS4) crashed and now won't open

Hi,
I'm been spending most of the day searching for similar threads here, but haven't found a solution...
A couple days ago photoshop hung, I tried to forcequit without luck so I shut the computer off and back on, and since then it won't load. when I click the icon it just bounces in the dock and then disappears. I don't even get to the splash screen.
I had a similar problem with InDesign... and now I noticed Illustrator too won't open.
Bridge works fine though.
Is there any preference files or anything else I can delete?
I tried fixing permissions, that didn't do anything. I am fairly new to the mac so not too sure what else I can do.
Again, sorry if this has been posted before, I haven't found a solution from the threads I found. Thanks
P.S. I tried creating a new user in is osx 10.5.7 and that too wouldn't solve the problem. I'm on a Macbook pro 4gb ram pleanty hd.... etc..

I don't know what is causing it but I would say a corrupt font us font explorer to find corrupt fonts then do a search for AdobeFnt and trash these files
except for any ending .db. Then trash the settings folder again, apologize for the ai error of course I mean the PS then see if that works.
You can also disable all fonts except the system fonts and see if that clears things then it is a font.
If this fails then you have to do an archival reinstall of your system and that should clear things..
