Photoshop and Illustrator won't install.

The download status bar on the application manager gets all the way to the end and gets stuck there and the program never installs. I left Illustrator for three days and it was still stuck. It also took more than 24 hours to install InDesign. I tried using the Adobe cleaner tool to remove any remnance of CS4 apps but it wouldn't run on my computer. I got what looked like a command line screen for about a second. Too fast to even think about reading what it said. Any ideas? I can't work without these two programs.

Hi Benzart151,
Might try download the trial version of these products and converting them to licensed Creative Cloud using the "License This Software" button
or try installing again when working in a new administrative user account
Windows XP: Choose Start > Help And Support and see the article "Add a new user to the computer," or contact your system administrator.
Windows Vista/Windows 7: Create new local administrator account (Windows Vista) (kb404912)
Mac OS: Creating and modifying user accounts on the Apple support website

  • Photoshop and illustrator won't work in my macbook pro

i tried installing photoshop and illustrator and can't seem to open the applications. i keep getting messages to reinstall the applications. is anyone else having these problems or is it just me? i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. i was told that rosetta would help run these programs and they won't run.

I am using a MacPro, for 3 weeks now. I use CS1. When setting up the new computer it asked me if I wanted to copy data from another Mac. It was quick--did about 50 GB of data in under 2 hours--and I was able to instantly continue with my normal routine. It was WONDERFUL!
I've been using Illustrator a good bit since then and less so Photoshop. I've been having lots of crashes with Illustrator. It doesn't seem to play too well with Rosetta. But I know crashes are not uncommon for Illustrator on other operating systems and hardware. I was previously running CS1 on a G4 with 10.4.4 and had few problems with the programs. I've been reminded of the importance of frequent saving. I lost a file last week that was damaged beyond repair after the program crashed while the file was being saved.
Among applications that are legacy that I transferred to the new machine, Illustrator 10 and Photoshop 6 can both be opened on the machine, but I haven't done any test runs to see what happens. Illustrator kept trying to reopen files (using Open Recent File) with AI 10 instead of AI CS1, which was really strange, so I'm not using that feature. Much Classic/Carbon software I own will not run at all on the MacPro (QuarkXpress 5, Flash 5 included).
I think that Illustrator CS1 on the MacPro is more fitful. I use it with Panther on a G5 at work and it's relatively stable. I also did a software update yesterday that included a firmware update for the MacPro. I noticed things were much more stable on the machine last night, but it's too early to say that it partially or completely solved these operability problems.
I think we're just all on riding the new wave. There's bound to be some problems. Same thing happened when we all moved from OS 9 to OS 10, and with every interim upgrade some issues arise.

  • Indesign won't install past 42% then says it failed. I downloaded photoshop and illustrator with no issues.

Ive tried to download Indesign but it won't go past 42% on the download bar and then it says it failed. no information to why.
I downloaded Photoshop and Illustrator with no issues
    on a Mac running 10.0.5

Dededededede I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine if the installation or download has failed.  If the installation has failed then there will be a specific error within the log which will determine why there was a failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

Hello, I have installed Reader, Adobe Acrobat, trial versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. Some more than once. They work for a few days at most then I am told to re-install. I cant look at any pdf file even though I can still see reader in my programs. What is going on and what can I do to fix this?

Unfortunately no, It says "Adobe not responding" as well when I try to open a pdf. It has done this a few times where I had to uninstall and reinstall. Also, Illustrator tells me to uninstall/reinstall as well.

  • Is my iMac now useless as i have installed lion and i am no longer able to run cs2 photoshop and illustrator as this is all i use my mac for they should make this clear before buying it i can't afford the latest version of cs2

is my iMac now useless as i have installed lion and i am no longer able to run cs2 photoshop and illustrator as this is all i use my mac for they should make this clear before buying it i can't afford the latest version of cs2 and cant believe what a waste of money it is.

The newest version of CS2 is CS5. And it was made very clear that these applications would not run in Lion. Not only by Apple, but on all sorts of communities and websites. It has been a long time coming - PowerPC apps were outdated six years ago. Lion does not support Rosetta, and therefore not PPC apps.
you have to options. Go back to Snow Leopard or upgrade your software. (MS Office 2004 and older will not run either).
    Cheers

  • Deleted the CS6 trial, but App Manager thinks I still have Photoshop and Illustrator installed.

I had previously installed, used, and then deleted the Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 trials. I recently subscribed to the Creative Cloud, but when I try to install Photoshop and Illustrator from the Adobe Application Manager, it just says they are "Up to Date," but I can't find them anywhere on the Mac or the Applications folder like they used to be.
Do I need to delete a file or folder somewhere else for the App Manager to realize I don't have them installed anymore?
    Thank you for your help.
I am currently running OS X, 10.8.2, 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 with 4GB RAM.

Run the Adobe Cleaner Tool then try downloading via the AAM again.

  • Can't Install cc 2014 InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

I have tried several times to install the 2014 updates through cc for InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.  I get an installation failed message, Learn more simply says Installation encountered an error.  Please restart your system and try again. (15)
Restarting and trying again does not help.

    Hi Gianfi,
I used time machine and took the program folder from before the last Apple update (in april) and replaced it with the new one.
the same I did with the application support folder. (Go to the library folder on the harddisk, in the library folder you have to open the applications support folder and look for the Adobe folder.
Replace that folder with the older one from before the latest Apple update using time machine.)
    That helped me.
When you are not using Time machine you can try to reinstall your MacOS but I didn’t try that myself.
I hope this will help you.

  • Error installing trials of photoshop and illustrator CC

When trying to install Photoshop and Illustrator trials I get the error message 'Error writing to temporary file location' the error code is (-70)
    I am running windows 8.1

Pcolly2509 this is a different error than I have observed before.  Since it is discussing a failure to write to the temp file location then it would occur your current User account does not have sufficient permissions to write to this directory.  Please try creating a new administrator account and seeing if you face the same difficulty.  You can find details on how to create a new User account in steps 7 of Troubleshoot unexpected behavior | User account-specific | Adobe software | Windows 7, Vista - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-unexpected-behavior-user-account-2. html.  The process is going to be the same for Windows 8.1.

I have creative cloud, I have photoshop and lightroom current versions installed - I was using the trial period.  I paid for the 9.99 a month and now I'm trying to figure out how to update this.

  • Photoshop and Illustrator updates fail using Adobe Application Manager, why and what can I do?

In the Adobe Application Manager, it says there are updates for both Photoshop and Illustrator. When I click to update, they both downloaded and attempted to install and in the middle of this process, Application Manager shows that the updates fail. After this, upon restart of my Mac–running Lion–Illustrator shows that it's up to date in the Application Manager and Photoshop shows an update is available. Upon trying to re-update Photoshop again, the update fails again and again.
I have updated before a few days ago with no problem, so I don't understand why the updates are failing and why after doing so, now Illustrator shows that it is up to date and Photoshop does not.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, does anyone know why and what I can do about it?
    Thank you.

    Hi Richei Creative,
    These would be my suggestions:
Create a new user account with administrative rights, log out of your current account and into that one, launch Adobe Application Manager and attempt the Photoshop update again.
Instructions if you need them  - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11468
If this fails, uninstall Photoshop (Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers) and reinstall Photoshop then from Adobe Application Manager the attempt the Photoshop update again, also from the newly created user account.
    Hope these help,
    -Dave

  • Extensions not showing at all - Indesign CC 2014 - but shows in Photoshop and illustrator

    Hi Hallgrimur Bjornsson,
Extensions not showing at all in Indesign CC 2014 (see screenshot) - but are showing in Photoshop and illustrator
Have tried to remove ExMan.db file and restart Extension Manager (v. 7.3.2.39).
After install, the extension correctly shows in
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions
In CC folder - there's one extension (Adobe Mini Bridge)
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions
Have tried to uninstall and reinstall InDesign CC 2014.
There is only CC 2014 version of the applications installed.

Is Extensions available as a menu item under Edit > Menus...
If it is, is it marked as visible?
If it is not, uninstall, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 ) and reinstall.

  • Why Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 are so slow on my MacBook Pro early 2011?

First of all sorry for my english
I recently installed Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 and they tend to lag even on just during normal work operations like zooming, opening a file, selecting a tool, browsing menus etc etc.
Cpu, Ram and Gpu usage are normal, I mean when I use these software there's at list 85% of free Cpu, 1GB of Ram still available, and 80% of free GPU. And I got 30GB left on my hardrive which is little but I believe is enough.
So I cannot believe this slow performance is due hardware limitations. There must be some driver issue or something else.
Anyone knows why CS6 is so slow?
    Software version:
    Photoshop CS6 13.0.1
    Illustrator CS6 13.0.0
    My Specs:
    Os: Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Cpu: Intel Core i7 2.3 GHz
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
    L3 Cache: 8 MB
    4GB ram
    AMD Radeon HD 6750M

My experience is that Photoshop can demand and use prodigious amounts of memory and disk space, much more than one might expect from the size of the files being worked on. While I don't have direct experience with CS6, my daughter uses CS4 on a Macbook Air with 4 GB memory and she had 100 GB free (on a 250 GB solid state drive). CS4 is less demanding than CS6, and in fact with the SSD, it runs pretty well, even with just 4 GB memory (the solid state drive is basically like memory, in fact, in some ways). However after running Photoshop on some projects for a while, we noticed she had only 60 GB free disk space. After restarting her Mac, she had 100 GB free again. Photoshop CS4 was using up 40 GB of disk space! And this was simply editting some (multiple) photos from a digital camera. Photoshop not only has its own memory management processes, but it also pages to disk and uses disk space as "scratch space" in its own fashion. I think that it is inadvisable to run Photoshop with less than 100 GB free disk space, and that's with CS4, not even CS6. And if you don't have a solid state drive, the throughput might slow down immensely unless you have a lot of memory (I think someone else pointed this out already).
Bottom line -- based on what I have seen with CS4, 4 GB memory is too low by at least a factor of x2 (16 GB memory would be even better), and I'd say a minimum of 100 GB free disk space is a must as well. I saw CS4 using more than 40 GB of "scratch disk space" and you are using CS6, which must use significantly more resources than CS4, and you indicate only 30 GB free space. That seems too low to me. I think other Adobe major software packages are similarly demanding, unlike any other software I have seen or used. For instance, I think you would have no trouble running MS-Office software (which is also known for using computer resources, but not anywhere as much as Adobe software).
One thing you can do is when you notice things slowing down, not only quit all other software except for CS6, but also in the Finder, under the Go menu, enter
    /private/var
    under Go To Folder ...
and then look in the folder called
    vm
If you see swapfiles, add up the total space they are taking, and also the space taken by the sleepimage file. These are working to decrease the amount of free space you have and they can quickly grow to tens of GB when Photoshop and other Adobe softwares are running.
Since it sounds like you have now upgraded your RAM, that should help, but you may find that the swapfiles and sleepimage files are taking even more disk apce faster and I think 100 GB free space is needed to avoid further slowdowns.
