Photoshop and InDesign User Needed.

Hi Guys
I need around 30 images edited and retouched.
I then wish to create greeting cards from these images to send to friends/family.
Could somebody take on this project?
Preferably the designer will be in London, UK.
I am willing to pay, but to be honest, it'll be low.
If interested, contact me on [email protected]
Thanks
Bud Ro

  • Slow Using Photoshop and InDesign

We have several 2GHz C2D Mac minis with 2GB RAM running Leopard. The users are complaining that using Photoshop CS4 and InDesign CS2 is slow. Is this to be expected? Would it be better to upgrade the PowerMac G5's we also have to Leopard, and use the software on that instead? Thanks.

Photoshop and InDesign both need a lot of room in RAM to run at a decent speed. Between just what the OS and Photoshop need, 2 GB of RAM isn't enough. You're getting a lot of page outs to disk in order to run these apps. Even worse if you have both PS and InDesign running at the same time. You really need at least 4 GB of RAM to see good performance.
So yes, since the Mac Minis can't have more than 3 GB of RAM installed, you'd be much happier with the performance of these apps on the G5s. But you'll still have to have more than 2 GB of RAM installed, or you essentially won't see any difference. You would want to have at least 4 GB of RAM installed on the G5s.

  • Which Mac should I upgrade to if I am a Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign user, with a little iMovie thrown in?

I've been using a 24" iMac (originally purchased in mid-2006) to do graphic design with Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator. I am also starting to do some very ametuer video prep (like iMovie) etc. With just Photoshop and Indesign alone, what is the minimum Mac I should upgrade to, if I am still concerned about performance, but budget and mobility could come into play too? For instance would the 13.3" Mac Book Pro with Intel Graphics be sufficient for doing my usual print design, with a little iMovie thrown in? At that price, I could afford a big display to plug into when I am at my office desk.
I like the idea of mobility (which I haven't had before with the big iMac), but don't want to notice a horrible lag in performance if I get a weaker machine. The guy at PeachMac said that when it came to display the Retina (in the Macbook Pro, 13.3 in edition) made a high difference despite the lack of a dedicated graphics processor. I don't do heavy-duty, memory-intensive graphics work but about once every two years anyway, and my iMac only has 2GB of RAM to begin with. I just want to make sure that true designers who have switched from older iMac machines to Macbook Pro's (not the most expensive models) didn't regret it when trying to run Photoshop, et al.
(My absolute budget is "no more than $2,000" which is why I am considering the new iMac vs. the MacBook Pro 13.3" and getting a nice external display.)
    Thanks!

To run the new Studio you need Leopard and it will not spec'd to run on Tiger (Leopard 10.5.6 [specs here|http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs>) I have run it in Leopard and Snow Leopard, and both seem fairly similar, though I generally like my Leopard machines a bit more. Still breaking in the Snow Leopard and getting various kinks out of it. It seems I have some more little things go wrong in Snow Leopard.
Overall I like the upgrades in the Studio and you may just want to make another boot drive with clean Snow Leopard and the new Studio to work with until you feel you are happy with how it is performing. Bascially that is what I do until I am fully comfortable with the system and always have my rollback plan in place in case something goes awry and I need to get things done....

  • Different Colors when printing from Photoshop and InDesign CS3

Different Colors when printing from Photoshop and InDesign CS3
    I have the following problem:
When printing from Photoshop or InDesign to a PostScript printer, Adobe recommends to let Photoshop handle the colors (I use the German version, so I don't know the exact term used, it changes slightly in all CS3 apps anyway).
The manufacturer however told me to let the PostScript printer handle the colors.
When I chose this option in Ps's print dialog and then choose ISO Coated as the printer pfofile, the results are fine.
But when I place the exact same image in an InDesign file and print from InDesign or export to PDF and print via Acrobat, again using "Printer handles colors", the results are the exact same as if I had used Ps and chosen to let Ps handle the colors (way too saturated and a bit too red).
    ·Photoshop CS3
    ·InDesign CS3
·Test image is a TIFF in CMYK Fogra 27 Coated (which is also the working color space in Ps and ID.
    ·Printer: Xerox Docucolor 3535
    ·Printer profile: ISO Coated
How can I make sure the printer handles the colors in other CS3 apps than Ps? I tried it with ID's print dialog (translated from the German version: Color Management > Options > Color Handling: PostScript-printer decides colors).
    Thanks a lot!

RE: "You don't indicate what Xerox printers you have"
In my first post I named it, is that the information you need?
    Docucolor 3535 using Splash 3535
That's interesting, so I have to find a way to turn off the printer's Color Management function? I mailed them, hope they can tell me how to do it easily. They usually just tell me to not use any profiles and so on, but that's the general rule in this area, I'm really tired of hearing it. Everybody seems to think profiles and LAB mode are nuclear science and I should stay away from it.
Anyway, the test image I'm using is a simple photograph (size A3, 300dpi), so no transparencies at all. I'm placing this image into an equally large ID file and print it from ID, then export it to PDF-X/3 and print it from Acrobat. Hope that helps.

I just bought a new iMac and used the Migration Assistant to transfer my files. Initially, all was working, but now a week later, I get the message that the application manager is missing, and I cannot get Photoshop and InDesign to launch. For my personal use, I did not a need to join Creative Cloud. Have you any suggestions for a work-around?

Try to install Adobe application Manager from below link and check

  • If I don't know how to use mini bridge in Photoshop and InDesign.

I tried to use mini bridge from photoshop and inDesign both but unsuccessfully. Displays message "Waiting for Bridge CS5..." and it seems for hours and hours but not working... .
But Adobe Bridge is working perfectly. Does anyone has the same problem?

So, I have the same problem with the mini bridge not loading. I noticed it also wouldn't load at my school on their Mac computers, too. I wondered if it had anything to do with me only having the free trial but the school's computer isn't free trial. I looked at the two solutions you've provided.
    1. When I went to the following...
    Win 64 bit machines: \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SwitchBoard\SwitchBoard.exe
There was no SwitchBoard folder, or SwitchBoard.exe on my computer anywhere... (Windows 8 64 bit)
    2. I then tried to see about your second solution and followed the link... it doesn't support my computer version ><
So I'm not really sure what to do since I need to get this working in order to complete my class assignment.... I am using the free trial at the moment but plan to buy the monthly plan through Adobe Creative Cloud for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

I have a PC running Windows XP (yes an antique) with CS3 Photoshop and InDesign and lightroom 2 (yes all antiques). I have acquired a PC running Windows 7 with no programs. I also have a MacBook pro  with full CS5 suite. The programs were already loaded with I got it as a gift. Question 1. If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.

You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Downloading the programs does not require a serial number.  You can find them here:  Download CS3 products  but you will need the serial number to activate the programs.  You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version.  Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6)

  • Problems with photoshop and indesign on cc

I just dowloaded the trial version of creative cloud CC, and frankly Im starting to regret it.  I keep getting an error message when I try and load photoshop and Indesign,
it tells me that the application manager that I need to launch this is missing or damaged.
I have downloaded application manager and nothing. Have reinstalled it and nothing. only two that work are bridge and illustrator after a day of reading and deleting and reinstalling crap.
    HELP PLEASE!!

    Hi wacyz,
Kindly specify the OS version that you are using so that we can help you appropriately.
Try to uninstall Creative Cloud and application manager using cleaner mentioned below.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    Install Adobe Application Manager
Win : Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager : Thank You
Mac: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager : Thank You
Run Adobe Application Manager, it would update to Creative Cloud.
Try to launch the applications and revert if the problem persists.
    Thanks,

No. If you want full compatibility with that display for all Adobe apps you’ll need to move to Creative Cloud.

  • I want to install Japanese version of Photoshop and Indesign.

I want to install Japanese version of Photoshop and Indesign.
    ButI have installed English version.
Is this a reason that I can't install?

Launch the Adobe Application Manager and click on your name in the top left to the context menu. From the menu choose Preferences and switch the Language field to Japanese.
You will need to uninstall the English version before installing the Japanese version. Uninstall on Windows from the Control Panel and on Mac OS X by using the links in the folder Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers.

  • Photoshop and InDesign CS3 keep quitting unexpectedly

I'm having issues with Photoshop and InDesign CS3 quitting unexpectedly. At first it was every once in a while, now it's happening numerous times a day and is becoming most irritating. I'm using a mac with OS X. I wasn't here when they installed CS3 and am the only one in the company with a mac so the computer services department won't be any help.

Run the normal maintenance tasks including Repair Permissions.
If it still crashes make sure that the TWAIN plug-in has been disabled and try trashing Photoshop's Prefs.
Otherwise, suspect bad Fonts. FontAgent Pro can ferret those out for you.
(Because it is also happening in InDesign, I suspect that bad or duplicated fonts are involved.)

    Hi,
No it's the same Photoshop .Photography program is just a temporary promotion pack with Photoshop and Lightroom  and it can end anytime .So you can buy Indesign and photography to have Indesign,Photoshop and Lightroom .
