Photoshop and picture frames
Hello, I found some picture frames online that I tried to download into Photoshop to use in action however i cannt find them. the frame is called gold.psd, my question is "am I dlowding the frame in the correct place and if so, why cant i use it. The only frame that i see in action is the frame that came with the software which is called wood frame. Thanks
The file in question- Gold.psd is probably not an action file,
but rather an image file intended to be used in an action.
You could easily verify this by going to File>Open and selecting the
gold.psd and then click open. If it were an action, doing this would
open the action in the actions panel.
Action files have a .atn extension.
Perhaps the place you downloaded this file from has some instructions
on the intended use of this file within an action.

Photoshop cc enhanced scripting for tree and picture frame patterns
the flame, tree and picture frame patterns are missing my drop down box in the fill window. They are in the
Deco folder, as is symmetry fill, all with javascript extensions, but symmetry fill is the only one that shows in my drop down menu. Can anyone help me fix this?Hi Kmjc,
If you are using the Photoshop CC 2014 version, you need to click on the filter menu and choose render and you will be able to see Flame, Picture frame and Tree options.

It's likely that your graphics card/GPU does not support the new feature. If you are using an older video card or an integrated graphics card that is not new like the Intel Iris or Iris pro than that is likely the reason.

Question about image size, canvas size and Picture frame
Hi,
This has always been a little confusing so let me describe what my question is:
Assume I have a created a new PSD that is 8 1/2 x 11.
The canvas size is the same 8 1/2 x 11.
I want to put a border around the picture (say 1/2 of an inch all around), and put the finished picture in a Picture frame. After it is in the frame, you would be able to see the entire picture plus the border.
Q. Should I change (reduce image size) of the PSD to (for this example), 8 x 10 1/2. Then increase the canvas size to 8 1/2 x 11. After I increased the canvas size, do a Paint Bucket fill with white (to create the White border)? then print the changed size PSD on 8 1/2 x 11 paper so that it will fit into a 8 1/2 x 11 picture frame
I realize I could have just created the new PSD to be 8 x 10 1/2 in the first place.
Hope I made this somewhat clear.
Bob1: Decrease the size as you describe.
2. Go to File>New or Ctrl N
3. Make the box 8.5x11. Make sure the other data conforms to your image.
4. Now,holding down Ctrl-Shift, Drag the image to the new box and release the mouse. Your image will be centered in the box.
Note: there may be a method to do this including any adjustment layers, but I usually only do this as a last step, flattening a copy of the working file. -
Export to PDF, loss of shadows + picture frames
I like to use Pages features like shadows and picture frames on photos (using Inspector > Graphic). I then export my Pages document to PDF to send for professional printing, but when the PDF is opened on Windows machines at the printer, the shadows are gone, and the photo inside the picture frame is totally missing. Some of the picture frames will stay in the PDF without the photo, and some will completely disappear along with the photos. I have confirmed this when viewing on a friend's PC also.
I've tried both standard Pages exporting AND printing to PDF from the print dialog box, both fail.
I searched the forum high and low and was pretty surprised to find no one else discussing this issue. Any suggestions on how to work around this and preserve the shadows and picture frame treatments on PDFs viewed on Windows machines?
(Note: I have already tried converting the PDF to a JPG or TIFF file using Preview, and that essentially works, but there is enough loss of DPI to cause concern at the printer, and besides, its just not ideal to print professionally from those formats).
Also it would be amazing if there were a printing company out there who printed color & full bleed jobs directly from Pages files on their Mac- anyone know of one? That would solve the whole issue of having to fumble around preparing files for PC viewing. (Oh if it were only a Mac world)...I agree with kirbot -- Apple includes nice templates that are obviously meant for professional printing in reasonably large quantities. Regardless, there's no good reason I can think of why Pages' PDFs are not truly WYSIWYG in their output. That shadows and other things are not exported as part of the PDF is a really dumb idea on Apple's part.
Just ran into this issue myself and had to ditch all the drop shadows in my brochure in order for the files to work with my online printer.

Drag and drop picture frames in Photoshop Elements 11 from one file to another?

I am a digital scrapbooker.
I recently started using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I previously had been using Elements 7. I make extensive use of Picture Frames i.e "Basic Black 10px", and in Elements 7, it was very easy to drag and drop a picture frame from one file to another. (I use a separate file for each scrapbook page, and I often move pictures between pages as I scrap them)
In Photoshop Elementa 11, I can drag and drop a picture frame from one file to another, but ONLY if there is no picture in it. If there is a picture, I cannot drag and drop - the circle-slash icon appears showing that it won't land. I was able to do this in Photoshop Elements 7, whether or not there was a picture in the frame.
Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong, or did Photoshop Elements change this functionality?
Thank you!I think this might be a bug in pse 11, at least on the windows version.
You might try right clicking on the frame layer in the layers panel, choose Duplicate Frame Layer and pick your other document as the destination. -
I am using Photoshop CC2014 15.00. In the pop-up menu for the Fill command there is a place for Scripted patterns. Within that part, the tree and the picture frame are grayed.
Why? I've seen demonstrations on how to use the feature but mine doesn't work. I checked the updates and I have the current version.
Thanks. LMI am running CC 2014.2.1 and I've updated to Yosemite. Not seeing tree or frame as an option in the menu. Coworker still on Mavericks has it.

When I place images in iBook Author, they are automatically assigned these properties: "Object Causes Wrap" and a "Picture Frame" stroke.

When I download pictures from my camera they use to also downloan in Cannon's Easy Photo. In my new computer they don't. I want them to. How??? Also how do i edit photos in Photoshop and print 4 to a page?

"Edit" is a menu item in Photoshop Elements Editor. Don't you see this? -
I have the photographer plan With Photoshop and Lightroom. Now suddenly The creative cloud app says that Lightroom isn´t installed. It is and how do i fix this. I don´t want to loose any pictures. Tried logging in and out. Also restarted my Imac with no luck.
This has nothing to do with your pictures. As long as LR works, nothing happens. The CC app merely has lost an entry in the installer database. Would a reinstall fix it? Sure. Is it necessary? Not really (until the next version or update). So unless you have too much time to spend or something isn't working, I'm sure you can find more interesting things to do with your tiem. Otherwise use the cleaner tool and get to it:

OK, Now I have word up and running. No edit menu. Poor memory...
On the home tab at far left side is paste. Just below the paste button is a downward arrow which will give you other options for pasting. By default it will paste as a photoshop object. Which means you can not scale it but double clicking on will let you edit in photoshop. Clicking that downward arrow will let you do a paste special and the following dialog box will pop up. -
I'm looking for a digital picture frame that is compatible with the iPhone 5 and 4S. I was looking at the Panasonic MW-20 but from what I can see I don't think it is. Any information would be great. Looking to buy a replacement for Christmas. Thanks!
Hi - the new lightning connector on the iPhone 5 has an authentication chip so very few 3rd party manufacturers have come out with compatible devices - so I doubt that you will find a frame that works for both phones - however Apple has come out with 2 apapters - one is a cable and one is a direct 30 pin to lightning device - you would have to check out each frame to see if one of these might work - I looked at the Panasonic and it looks promising but I would check the return policy of anything that you buy in a case it doesn't work.
