Photoshop Animation with Transform: Can i Animate *MASK-Transformation* continuously?

Hello, i edit software video tutorials on the Photoshop timeline*. Sometimes i want to zoom into a screen area and show the action there enlarged.
Let's say my tutorial explains Photoshop's layer techniques. The screen cast shows the whole Photoshop workspace including the layer panel. Now in the tutorial, i want to zoom into the layer panel with 200 %, so that viewers see the mouse action and thumbnails there better, while still a good part of the workspace including the image is visible (so you get the enlarged layer panel and see how it affects the image). To zoom smoothly into the layer panel area,
i make a smart object of the footage,
duplicate it into a new video group,
create a vector mask around the layer panel (my area of interest),
start the Transform stop watch on the time line
move the timeline cursor half a second further and
transform the layer to 200 % (using pixel replication)
In the result, the screencast itself is nicely zoomed into. But the mask is never zoomed – it is either one size or the other, and there's no difference whether using vector masks or layer masks (i prefer vector masks of course).
I see that there are more stop watches for
- vector mask position
- vector mask active
But they don't help and i don't fully understand them. I read a lot and saw some tutorials, but still don't understand the situation.
Is it possible or not that the mask is contuinuously scaled larger and smaller together with the footage itself?
By the way, i know how to show an enlarged screen area without the zooming-in. I can simply fade in. That works nicely. But i would love to show the zooming-in.
Or should i do that kind of work in another application altogether?
Thanks for any clues (or links) you might give me!
*aware that there are other solutions, but usually works well for me

You did not look down far enough. Below them are some layers in blue (or other solid color) Twirl down the one that says 3D Meshes. Click on the small stopwatch for the object move your playhead ahead in time then rotate your mesh. The easiest way to rotate the mesh is using the text fields in the mesh's properties.

  • Masks and Photoshop animation

    Hello all,
I am have an issue creating an effect as a frame by frame animation using masks. I have been assigned a logo animation with a lower thirds by my art director. I am not working on After Effects because my knowledge of AE is zilch. I am fairly new to trying out Photoshop's video capabilities, but my ultimate goal is to export my animation as a transparent .MOV file for the video editor to overlay the logo over an interview video they are producing. Because it needs to be overlayed, my .MOV has to be transparent. I have figured out how to export my file with an alpha transparency just fine, but my issue is in the animation part.
The idea behind the logo animation is to have the letters reveal one by one. Imagine a script font with the words My Logo- I was thinking of masking the layer with the logo on it and revealing each letter one by one by painting the letters with white. Therefore, I created my first frame (I'm on the frame-by-frame dialog by the way), and my logo is completely hidden by the mask on the 1st frame. I create a second frame and I begin painting my letters one by one as I add more frames. The problem when I try to do this is that when I begin revealing my logo on the 2nd frame, the 1st frame reveals itself! The 1st frame isn't hidden as I had it, but begins revealing itself as I paint the 2nd frame!
This is my fictional logo I am animating:
The first frame shows my logo hidden by a mask with the 1st frame active.
Second frame is created and I begin revealing my letters by painting my mask so that it is recorded on the 2nd frame. ISSUE: The 1st frame, rather than keeping my letters hidden, it is beginning to reveal my letters such as in my 2nd frame!
Anyone have any thoughts on why I can't keep my 1st frame hidden? Any masking animation tutorial links would be most welcomed. Thanks!

You may be better off just creating you logo and animating it like a banner coming onto your image image using tween. Position you logo off screen. then on screen and have Photoshop generate frames between them. Something like the one I did through the clouds a while back in the forum.
I think I just created a layer masks  to show the clouds to show through in places. The layes mask was not linked to the layers content so when the logo  moved the mask did not.  You also be able to have your logo not move and have photoshop do the tween where you move the layer mask and leave the logo in place. So you logo goes from hidden to being revealed by a moving black mask off the logo. I do know if Photoshop would generate the mask coming onto the canvas as white when you move the black area off the logo.
Yes worked fine single text layer with a layer mask that was moved off text and tween used so Photoshop would generate mask between the two. I used a white background none is needed. Gif support 256 colors one can be transparent however partial tranparency a like drop shows would be done by deterring and not be partrial transparency.

  • How can I fill mask with pattern?

    Hi
Would you please help me? How can a add pattern to a mask? I drew a motion mask on video clip and now I want to fill it with pattern that I made in Photoshop and saved as PSD, what should I do? How can I fill mask with specific pattern?
    Thanks for any help

AE doesn't directly support a pattern-fill like PS, so here's a workaround (as Mylenium suggested):
Create a PS document and create a layer filled with the pattern required.
Import the layer/PSD to AE and place in timeline.
Place a copy of the masked layer above the Pattern layer.
On the pattern layer, set the Track Matte to Alpha Matte.

I am having a issue installing Adobe Acrobat XI.  I am running Windows 8.1. When  go to install it gets an error.  The error is with transform in registry and will not install product. I am looking at how I can fix this registry problem.
I have tried to uninstall all Abode Acrobat installations but one file remains and refuses to be uninstalled. It gives me this error : Error applying Transforms . Verify that specified paths are valid. It was installed on Sept 18 2014.  I have downloaded a Transform update but it tells I do not have a Adobe Acrobat product installed.

    Hi all,
Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.
    Please help !
    Regards,
    Vipul

  • Can I open psd file made in photoshop cs3 with photoshop ps2?

Can I open psd file made in photoshop cs3 with photoshop ps2? Thanks in advance!

Actually you can open a CS3 file with smart filters in CS2
the only problem is CS2 will not understand the Smart filter and flatten it.
If you leave the smart filtered object alone in CS2 save the file and it should still be a smart filtered object in CS3

Bridge wont recognizw my Nikon d610.  I am running windows 8 and photoshop cs6 with 8.6 camera raw plug in.  How can I get bridge to recognize my camera?  Thanks!!

That camera model has been supported since ACR 8.3 and it is most certainly supported by ACR 8.6 and ACR 8.7 (beta).
Either you have damaged, corrupt image files, or a faulty Photoshop and/or ACR installation.
If there are no privacy issues, you can post one of your files to the FTP service of your choice (such as Dropbox or yousendit.com), post the link to it, and someone here can take a look at it for you.

  • Can I use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with creative cloud photography?

I'm really confused by this subscription pricing. If I purchase the $9.99/month, do I get the full desktop app of Photoshop and Lightroom? But I see on this page Products they list something called Photoshop CC that costs twice as much. How is that different from the Creative Cloud Photography?
My main question is whether I can use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with Creative Cloud Photography, since I just purchased a bundle that includes these and I want to be able to use them. But I'd also like to understand what comes with all of the various products and how they are different.
My other question is how is Lightroom different from Photoshop? I have a sense of what you can do in Photoshop but I don't know much about Lightroom at all.
One more question: the free trial -- is it limited in any way besides the time length? If I do that, will I get a clear idea of all that I will be able to do once I subscribe, or are the functions limited in the trial?
I tried to just send an email to Adobe to ask these questions but apparently they are not interested in responding to emails from people who are not yet paying customers, so I was directed here. Thanks very much for your help!

I always like to trot this bit about Bridge once in a while or in the voice of the "Two Bobs" from Office Space,
"Can you tell us exactly what it is you do around here?"
    What Adobe Bridge does:
Bridge is the coordinating hub of the Creative Suite. Synchronizing color management settings for all suite programs is done from Bridge, and can only be done from Bridge, to take one important use.
Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information  and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.

  • Can I open psd files created in Photoshop CC with lower version? Actually CS5.

Can I open psd files created in Photoshop CC with lower version? Actually CS5.
My home and office have different version each.

Yes, PROVIDED that the file has not been saved with any layers containing any of the specific new features introduced starting with Photoshop CC and higher.
If the file has been flattened or if it was flat to begin with there will be no problems.

  • Just upgraded to 10.8.4 and now can't open canon raw files in photoshop cs5 with camera raw plug in 6.7

i've just upgraded to os 10.8.4 and now i can't open canon raw files in photoshop cs5 with camera raw plug in 6.7 which worked perfectly prior to the upgrade....anyone else encountered this issue?

Adobe's software is a mess in terms of the fact that it's sprayed all over the place and may not survive an OS upgrade.  Try reinstalling Photoshop CS5.

I cannot answer regarding compatibility, but there is no download available for PSE6 if you would need one for this.  You might be able to copy the installation files from a disk to some other removable media that the machine accepts.  Upgrading to PSE7 would not be possible mainly because Adobe does not sell older versions of their software.

  • Troubles importing Flash 10 Animation with 3D Transform

I am looking for any workaround/experiences for importing a Flash 10 animation with 3D transforms. Currently, doing this will wig out Captivate 4 and break the embedded animation in all sorts of ways. AS3 support in Captivate is turned on and the same animation will load and play correctly if the 3D transform is removed. All other Flash 10/AS3 possibilites work including motiosn graphs and filters.
I find the 3D transform option of Flash CS4 to be one of the most powerful features ever introduced in Flash and would allow some incredible breakthrough design possibilities for my Captivate projects, if it would just support it! Any experiences with this issue welcomed. A bug report has been submitted also, but looking for a quicker remedy.

    Problem Resolved!
I got this tip from Vikram (Adobe Support)
    1. Open your project having Flash Player 10 animations involving 3D transforms.
    2. Click the Edit menu and select Preferences.
    3. Select "Publish settings" under the "Project" section.
    4. Check "Animations" option under the "Externalize resources" section.
    5. Press OK.
    6. Now click the publish button.
    7. In the publish dialog, select Flash Player 10 from the "Flash Player version:" drop down.
    8. Click publish.
(F4 preview may not work, so use preview in browser)
Also, you may need to be wary of embedded scripted symbols as they may loose reference to the parent symbol after being embedded in yoru your CP4 project containing 3D transforms. My advice here is to try to script using as much object oriented js as possible in the main timeframe.
I am using a combination of localConnect and ExternalInterface functions to control the 3D animation from captivate quiz buttons. This process adds a whole new level of interactivity and visual interest to your captivates!
