Photoshop application question.

What version of photoshop is required to move a portion of one digital image into another digital image?
Moving a person not included in the original group shot from another digital photo into the group shot.

You can do it with Photoshop (Standard or Extended).

  • Starting Photoshop application question

Hi Ive just started the 30 day trial in photoshop and this may sound like a silly question but how do you get into the actual application?

Can you at the very least tell us your platform, Mac or Win, and the version of Photoshop you downloaded?
You need to extract the download, install the application and launch it.  In order to guide you, a lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CC", but something like CC2014.v.2.2) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

  • Photoshop CS2 Question

It is my understanding that Adobe's Photoshop CS2 does NOT run on iMac Intel Core 2 Duo...yet I was able to install Adobe Creative Suite 2 which includes Photoshop CS2 on a friends new iMac Intel???? Can someone shed some light on this for me? Is there a different version on Creavtive Suite 2?
I was able to open the Photoshop Application adn ti seemed to be working fine. Does this mean it is running on Rosetta? If it is...it seemed to be running jsut fine.
    thanks
iMac 24" 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iPod 4G, Airport Express

It certainly does run. It just requires Rosetta to do the translation. With enough RAM, it works very nicely indeed.

  • Can't resize Photoshop application frame

I have iMac OS X 10.6.8 and have been running Photoshop CS5 for two years. Recently the photoshop application frame extended below the bottom of my screen so I can't grab the lower corner and manually resize it. Also, I can't change the screen mode in the drop down menu. I think messed up the settings when I resized the type on different applications as a test for a friend of mine. Is there a way to reset the display in both photoshop and in the apple drop down menu that will enable the photoshop application frame to fit back on the screen?

Try hitting the "Green Dot" up in the top left of the Application Frame window. Then hitting it again.
Likewise, you can try turning off the application frame feature and turning it back on under the "Window" menu.

  • Moved Photoshop Application to my Desktop for easy access and now recieving an error message, help?

Installed CS6 Design and Web Premium, then moved Photoshop Application to my Desktop from Program Files for easy access and now recieving an error message, saying application is unable to start correctly. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this please?

Move the application back where it belongs, with all it's support files.
You can make a SHORTCUT to the application, and place it on the desktop if you wish.

  • Help, cannot set references to Photoshop.Application in VBA

    Hello,
I have used CS5 in the past and have had a well-functioning VBA program (running within Access 2010) that ran fine, opens 32-bit Photoshop, and controlled photoshop CS5 normally, allowing me to manipulate photos, read metadata, etc.  (It was my understanding that at least for CS5, scripting programs including VBA needed to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop, not the 64 bit version.)
I installed CS6 about 6 months ago and the VBA program continued to work just fine, provided it still opened the 32 bit version. (I had to be sure I was not running 64 bit Photoshop when I started the VBA program).  CS5 was still installed but not being used.
I just uninstalled CS5, leaving CS6 installed.  For some reason, this left the VBA program disrupted in that the References (which you set in the VBA code window with Tools > References) no longer appear to be valid.  I am unable to set a new Reference to Photoshop.Application and the program has become unusable.  That is, the "Available References" no longer list Adobe Photoshop CS6 Type Library or Adobe Photoshop CS6 Object Library.  I browsed to the the file C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\TypeLibrary.tlb to add this reference manually.  The programs still does not compile (i.e., Dim appRef As New Photoshop.Application  causes an error "User Defined Type not defined").  I get the same failure to compile if I browse to and install a reference to the 32-bit version, C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\TypeLibrary.tlb.  In the past, I also had a reference to the "Adobe Photoshop CS6 Object Library".  I have tried to manually set this to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Photoshop.exe or to the 64 bit version of Photoshop.exe, but these files are not accepted and I do not otherwise know the file location of the Object Library.
I very much need help from someone who knows how to fix this problem in transitioning from CS5 to CS6 for using VBA.
    Thank you,
    EGibbon

There are global keys that get overwritten with each version of Photoshop. Photoshop.Application for example gets set for each install of Photoshop. When you uninstalled CS5 those keys got removed.
Can you install CS6 again? You don't need to uninstall. Just install again if it will let you.
I have a script that wil set them but I don't really like to use it on other folks machines as it messes with the registry and I don't want to make it worse for you.

Fonts are handled by your operating system and installed through the respective System Control panel (Windows) or Fontbook (Mac). On Windows simply type "Fonts" in the search bar in the start menu and when you open the panel/ folder use File --> Add Font. On Mac the procedures are similar, you just need to find the Fontbook app in Applications:Utilities.

  • Create Object with "Photoshop.Application"

Cannot create an object reference to Photoshop CC using Excel 2011 and vba, is there missing files with the standard installation?

    Hi;
I have been writing VBA code for many years and have always used Windows up till now, I am attempting to do things on a MAC I can easily do in Windows. I have for years used macros written by myself referencing Adobe Photoshop and also Microsoft Access from within Excel. I have used what is termed 'Late binding" to create objects for the above applications. I understand Access is not useable on the MAC but I believe I should be able to use the macros I have written with slight modifications for file locations. Typically nearly the first executable statement in these macros are as follows
    Dim appRef as Object
    set appRef = CreateObject("Photoshop.Application")
the second statement when executed allows me the opportunity to use Photoshop (Versions 7 -> CS5 have been successful) to reference all the procedures and functions that would appear on the desktop when using Photoshop.
According the scripting PDF manual for CS6 they use the same syntax for the VBScript examples. I believe this should work with Photoshop CC. I think when I installed the cloud version I opted for "Typical" installation" instead of maybe selecting "Custom Installation". How do I achieve the use of the above technique? As stated earlier I have used this since Photoshop 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Robert Firman

  • Lightroom 1.3 catalog shows Photoshop application folders (OS X Leopard)

    Hi,
I have been using Lighroom without problems for a long time but now I got this weird problem with Lightroom (I am using OS X Leopard & Lightroom 1.3)
Few days ago just in the middle of using lightroom tens of new folders appeared to the catalog. Those folders were not image folders, they are subfolders of "applications/Adobe Photoshop CS3" folder and Lightroom shows randomly some of the images from my "real" folders under those new folders (no on my disk but in lightroom catalog)
I renamed the catalog file and took older backup version to use and after opening Lightroom everything was fine until some new folders appeared again (again folders that are located under Photoshop application folder on my HD)
Next I deleted my catalog and previews files and let Lightroom to create new ones. I imported one folder of images from my USB drive and it worked fine for about minute and again some Photoshop folders appeared to the catalog..
I even reinstalled Lightroom but still this problem exists..
Here is an screenshot of what I mean (only the "sekakaiset" folder is a imported image folder, other folders appeared on their own, and they do no contain images but Lightroom shows some of the images from my "sekalaiset" folder under those Photoshop folders)
    http://hotimg12.fotki.com/a/88_114/80_127/weird.jpg
Has anyone experienced this same problem? What should I do to fix this?
    Thanks, -Jarmo

    Thanks guys for the advices!
I checked my smart folders, and found an image that was saved within my old Bilder folder and navigate to it, then moving all the files I had there to my Documents folder, so they're back and safe now (well, safeER).
The "problem" with the pictures folder being in English still remains though. I've tried all of the things that Andreas said, but none of them worked. Using TinkerTool to show invisible files had no result either, the old folder were completely gone.
I even tried uninstalling Lightroom completely (through AppZapper), changing the language to English, rebooting, repairing the privileges, changing the language back to Swedish, then rebooting again. It's still named "Pictures". I have never renamed any of the folders created by the system, so that's probably not the issue.
Any other ideas? Having the Pictures-folder in English sure doesn't kill me, but being a person who likes everything perfect, it sure annoys me! Plus that I wont feel safe moving images back into that folder for a while now.

  • Why didn't the photoshop application install?

Hi, so I have purchased CC Photoshop and it has installed onto my computer however the Photoshop application hasn't installed. In the drop down menu it says that the app is installed and fully updated however I don't have the app do actually use the program, making it completely useless!

Which operating system are you using?

  • ActiveX component can't create object:'Photoshop.Application'

I am running Photoshop CS5.1 on a Windows 7 64-bit system. (Part of CS5.5 Master Collection installation)
All I am trying to do is run the sample .vbs scripts that come with Photoshop.
When I double click on any of the sample scripts, the Photoshosp window comes to the front and then after about 10 seconds I get the error:
    ActiveX component can't create object:'Photoshop.Application'
This happens if I have Photoshop 64-bit or 32-bit running.
This happens on two different computers running Windows 7.
I couldn't find any solutions in a Google search.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I got it working after I installed the x32 bit version of PS on my Windows 7 (64-bit) machine.
I also selected "Run as Administator" when I launch PS once, and then rebooted. they was necessary to get permission for the type libraries it seems.

  • Cannot Find the Photoshop Application on my Mac

I downloaded and installed creative cloud and then downloaded the photoshop application but cannot locate it on my mac

    Hello Kumato,
    First quit all running application.
In top right corner you will see a lil magnifying glass-> click in it [spotlight]
in spotlight type in -> Photoshop.
if it gives any results in application it means its installed.
Click on photoshop if it there in drop down list.
Otherwise you need to install from creative cloud
Similarly type  creative cloud in spotlight and click on it
Under apps Tab -> Photoshop CC/CS6 -> Install
    or
go to creative.adobe.com -> sign in -> seach for photoshop in download center and click download.
    Thanks
