Photoshop asking me to "license this software"

Hi I just signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud and downloaded PS CS6 and installed it but when I try to open it, I am asked to license this software. I'm not sure how to do that with Creative Cloud.
Thank you, Nate

the strange thing is, Illustrator doesn't have a problem. I could
continue with the version a allready had installed.

  • Ive got photoshop CS6 in my computer but when I tried to open it, it opened as Photoshop CS6 Extended and is asking me if I want to license this software so I can no longer access Photoshop. Can anyone help at all?

I've been using Photoshop CS6 and suddenly when I try to open images with this it takes me onto a page saying Photoshop CS6 Extedned and is asking me to license this software. Ive already got Photoshop so why is this happening? I now cant access it?

You should see a prompt to "License this Software". You might see it on the Trial Screen.
Click on that, sign in if asked, then click on the "I have a serial number" option or you maybe able to do that directly.
Once your serial number is entered, your software is licensed and activated.

  • I keep getting license this software, when I open illustrator or photoshop. i am already a member of creative cloud.

I keep getting license this software, when I open illustrator or photoshop. i am already a member of creative cloud.
ITs then taking me to accounts page where all my information is correct.

Well thank u Psibertech, but unfortunately the link is not helping... i'm not getting any Unkown server error - ( having already tried it, i would avoid using the chat since it can be really slow and can become a time consuming headache...)
My "problem" is it just connects to different servers each time i launch a program and it's a bit annoying, sometime requesting to type in my adobeid.
Sometimes also it gives me that licence contract or the trial window (i couldn't replicate the full problem this time, probably cuz i was logged in, but i don't see why i should always be logged in when i use adobe programs not to be bugged by licence problems...)
also i will add that desktop creative cloud application is not really functioning well, for some reason it doesn't keep up with the updates...

  • Creative cloud keeps asking me to license my software and then it asks for a serial number

it keeps asking me to license my software and then it asks for a serial number, i do not have a serial number with creative cloud just a order number what do I do?

    For me this guideline helped:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
In my case, I had to remove the following lines from the hosts file:
    120.0.0.1 lmlicenses.wip4.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 lm.licenses.adobe.com
After that all worked again. Hope this helps.

  • Problem: Elements 12 insists that I license this software every time I open Editor.

Situation:  I installed a previously used E12 program onto new WIN8 desktop.  Everything was fine.  A few days ago it insisted (and continues to every time I open Editor) to license this software.  I enter serial #, and I’m allowed to proceed.
Hint:  I purchased this new PC because my old one (WIN7) semi-fried.  I tried to deactivate E12 on that old PC but no such option appeared.  So I uninstalled E12 from my old PC.  I also run this license on my laptop (WIN8); it continues to work fine.
    I also use Lightroom 5.5.
Question:  How do I “legitimate” my license on my new PC so that Adobe recognizes it and doesn’t shut me down?
    Thank you!

    Hi Greg,
The reason I asked about the cleanup is that in the past we have seen one of the registry cleaners incorrectly removing the serial number.
Since everything works fine on your laptop it must mean that there are no problems with your serial number or Adobe ID.
When you talk about "pared down all the gobbldegook in Start Up" do you recall if you had the problem before then?
Can you remember what you removed from the start ups? I tend to use something like msconfig and disable items rather than delete them. That way you can always reinstate things?
Have you done the same paring on your laptop?
I'm wondering if there is an Adobe process that needs to run to and which you have now stopped.

  • 'license this software' issue

Hi, I have a licence for CC but every time I open an application it pops up with 'license this software' or 'start trial'. Once I hit 'license this software' and sign in it works fine but any ideas as how to stop it from doing this? Thanks

    Hi Charley,
You need to rename SLStore and SLCache from your machine and try launching the application again.
For the first time it will ask you the information again but then later it will not ask you for any information.
Below are the location for SLCache and SLStore:
Mac: SLCache and SLStore: Library/Application Support/Adobe/
    Win: SLCache: Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache\
    Win: SLStore :: ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
Let us know if it works or not.
    Thanks,
    Ratandeep

  • Bad message "License This Software" or "Continue Trial"

This morning I openened Photoshop CS6 and received a CC message with the choices with options to "License This Software" or "Continue Trial."
I purchased CS6 before purchasing CC. My software is NOT a trial version. It is fully licensed.
I have a CC subscription that is fully up to date.
Why am I getting this message?

    Hi MeiLin,
Adobe CS6 comes as an archived version with CC. To activate CS6 as a part of CC please click on license this software, sign in with your Adobe Id associated with your subscription and activate the software.
If you want to activate CS6 with the key provided then click on license this software, sign in with the Adobe Id not associated with CC subscription and enter the serial key for the product to activate it.

  • Stuck in License This Software loop - Adobe has no clue CC2014

For weeks now, I've been stuck in a loop with having to "License this software" or "Start trial", when trying to start any CC Application. I started since i downloaded CC2014 and is happening also when trying to start my old CC apps.
Have been on mail and phone with Adobe Support several times and for hours. Support have been very helpful, but after they remotely have tried to do almost everything with my Mac and CC installation, it's clear that Adobe have no clue what's causing the issue.
The forums are full of solutions to this from other users with same issue, but none of it helps. I and support have tried it all.
I am in a bit more luck than several others, since I can run my Adobe apps in trial mode but with 00 days left(?). Others can't even open their apps.
I am posting this in hope to gather all experiences me and other users have with troubleshooting this together with Adobe. I have case no: 0185617726 which has now been escalated for the third time.
    Flemming

Just finished another 2 hour session on phone with Support and they finally found the issue :-)
For some reason there was a time mismatch in log files  (~/Library/Logs/amt3log) when opened in Console and the current OS time/clock set automatically by my timezone.
Somehow the supporter managed to align the time so it was right in both the OS and logs (not sure how but running some terminal commands etc.)
So everything seems to work now and I am a happy Adobe user again :-)

    Problems with Photoshop CS2
I originally purchased this software several years ago. At time I was running Microsoft Windows XP.
    This computer recently was replaced with a Dell running Windows 8.I reloaded my CS2 on this computer & it ran fine with a few exceptions as follows;
when the software comes up initially I get a message that says “could not complete your request because of program error”. Hitting OK allows me to continue using the software .
When I try to activate a function using CTLR or ALT keys I get this message “required application failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application”. This causes the application to abort.
Reloading my CS2 continues to generate the same messages when I depress the CTLR or ALT keys.

Your original copy is obsolete and Adobe is offering a free replacement you are entitled to. Download and use that and that should clear it up for you.

Download this copy of CS2 and use the serial number provided next to the download link.

  • CS6 keeps asking to "license this software"

We purchased CS6 last year and installed onto a staff member's laptop. She had no problem using the program for months until last week when out of the blue she was prompted with a screen to license the software, at which point I had to log into our corporate account from her laptop and re-enter the license key. Now it's happening again so I contacted Adobe support yesterday via chat - the rep advised the following:
First he said this was a rights issue to which I advised the user does have admin rights to the laptop.
He then advised to open the application by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator". Did not help.
He then advised to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD and then delete the cache file. Did not help.
We're looking for a solution asap as this issue is keeping our staff from getting work done.
    Thanks!

Internet connectivity is not an issue for this user, she is connected via our LAN. Still trying to figure out the cause of this issue - in fact it was successfully registered 6 months ago and working fine, now all of the sudden it prompts for registration. Therefore internet connectivity should not even be an issue.
Waited on hold for over 1.5 hours for Adobe support yesterday and finally gave up. Does no one answer the phones at Adobe?
Still need help resolving this issue.

  • 2013 Purchased Acrobat XI Pro.  Acrobat says I need to license this software and will not let my 2013 licensed software open.

I purchased the Acrobat XI Pro license in June, 2013.  I have a license key.  It worked yesterday.  Now it says I need to license it for $20/mth.  It will not let me open my installed Acrobat XI Pro.

So I guess that was lucky on my part, but is potentially an issue for you. If you bought a copy for each OS, then you have 4 installations you could use for yourself. I have asked before and never gotten an answer of why the MAC and PC S/Ns are different. It would be great to have the same S/N for both systems to ease situations like yours. I seem to remember hearing that the Adobe folks may have a solution for that, but like everything else it is probably hard to find, if it exists.
