Photoshop back to LR

...what's *the* way to export a file from PS to LR? I want to start in Photoshop (this has come up before and I ended up exporting to my desktop and then dragging the image to LR...I know, I know, pretty clunky!) and end in LR. Sometimes I want to work a certain aspect of an isolated image in Photoshop and finish in Lightroom (there are certain aspects of LR I find are very effective in final processing...)...

Sometimes I just want to take one of my saved TIFF files and work in PS without loading it into LR...front end saves time, if I like what I've done in PS it's all good, but sometimes I like to use some of the LR tools after...does that make sense? Many times when using plug-ins I might do some heavy lifting, then the file comes back to LR and it's all fresh and new (heh...) and I can't resist messin' with some sliders...that kind've thing...sorry, I'm trying to explain a *very* personal workflow that isn't by any means strict...

How do you save from Photoshop back to iPhoto?

How do you save your external edits from Photoshop back to iPhoto?
Fine, I know how it can be done ONCE : you simply flatten the image and then hit Save, and you see your edited image in iPhoto.
But, what if you FIRST want to save the .psd document complete with layers outside iPhoto, THEN flatten the image and save as a jpeg back to iPhoto? I tried this yesterday. I saved as a PSD file - with all layers and a new name - to my Pictures folder. Then I flattened the image and wanted to save it to iPhoto, but the temporary iPhoto location had disappeared from the Photoshop Save dialogue and Photoshop now displayed it under the new name.
This is annoying : you've got to save the PSD document first in order to preserve the layers. But when you do this, you lose the ability to save the image a second time, all layers flattened, back to iPhoto.

But if I'd flattened the psd without saving it as a psd, I could simply have saved it back to iPhoto (I've done that before).
Hold on - perhaps that's the answer...
What if..
1. I flatten the image and Save it back to iPhoto, then ...
2. Undo the 'flatten image' in Photoshop, then save THAT version as a psd?
I'll try this and let you know if it works.

I am trying to save my photo from photoshop back to lightroom and I keep getting an error that is "could not save because disk does not exist. Anyone know how to fix this?

Has the file ever been imported into Lightroom?

I have the exact same question. I have the serial number too. I called Adobe help line, and they had a "technician" go into my computer and I thought he was going to reinstall. He just showed me why the computer runs slow and why it didn't reinstall, and then told me if I still wanted his help it would be $300-$400. !! i thought it was a help line.... how does that help? I didn't pay that much for the program!!
I desperately need help with this!

Change iPhoto to Photoshop back to iPhoto batch script

I am completely clueless about scripting. I found a great script at http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2003/05/28/iphoto2.html for taking a batch of pics in iPhoto, having them open in Photoshop and run an action, and then save. The person who wrote the script deliberately wrote it for the pics to not save back into the modified file and overwrite. That is what I want them to do so my watermark shows on my pics in iPhoto. The way the script is written, I have to save the modified pics somewhere else, then go into the folder and drag and drop them into my iPhoto Library. I'm positive there has to be a way to cut that out and just save back into iPhoto. Here is the script, any help on what to change in it would be appreciated. Oh, and in my Photoshop action I have it set to flatten and then save the way I want, but it won't do it based on the following script.

I'm still a little puzzled as to your saying you don't see these options. I went back to the previous version of iphoto, but I don't remember not seeing these:

New computer.. can't get photoshop back

About 2 weeks ago my computer burned up... ended up getting an new one.
Most important, just about a year and a half ago I paid bank for CS6 ...got the new computer running. I got onto my adobe account, downloaded CS6 == however my serial number won't work.
I do notice that my serial number is telling me my product is from 2008, and yet I bought in towards the end of 2013...
Can't get a phone number, can't get access to email support... this is all I have left.
How the heck do I get my software back.

As a customer I have zero recourse here.
This was my great fear and trepidation in buying on all digital product... you know, in the past it was always boxes and discs, if the world goes to hell -- you get your new computer and reinstall it. You put the disc in the drive, read off the serial number, and you are good to go. All those years of buying photoshop I had the discs, and if ever something went wrong, I had... the discs.
This was the first time I bought a digital product. Paying that five hundred bucks or so, and downloading this online was terrifying to me... and the nightmare scenario I envisioned -- all the "what ifs" have completely come true.
Man, with no product in your hand, you really do have nothing.

Hello. I bought Photoshop elements maybe 5 years ago and have loved it and used it nearly daily. My computer died and the place I took it to was unable to fix it. I bought another computer and ran my online backup. I was able to recover all the photos, but the program didn't come back. Im not great with computers and don't know if I'm out of luck since I no longer have the cd's it came on. I'd hate to have to spend the money to get it again. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. The hardrive of my old computer is ok for the most part (it's just not in the computer).Thank you.

i am very angry because I paid 600;00 for Photo shop.... and because I have a new computer.... they feel I need to buy an new program. That just blows my mind. That such a huge company....cannot understand what GOOD Customer Service is.... I also tried Element trying to put it for my cameral that was less than a year old and it wont work.... Any ideas on how to get my Photoshop back after upgrading to 10.7?

i'm having issues with the upgrade, like lots of others it seems. we have all done upgrades before, and they always start buggy, patches and fixes are soon on the way...they usually figure the largest ones quickly. my issue is, i was unaware they (Apple) was dropping PowerPC support for things like Photoshop.
i've briefly searched the 'web and found nothing for sale that runs in the new OS. they all list compatibility up to 10.6.8. were we all caught unaware, even Adobe, or did i miss that boat?
i used my Photoshop nearly 3 days a week, and miss it alot. any assistance would be appreicated.

Lightroom to Photoshop & Back :: Two Requests

b Two Related Requests:
1) Easier and more natural integration between Lightroom and Photoshop. Maybe a button at the bottom of the Develop Module. It could fit right next to Previous.
2) The option of saving an image as a PSD rather than have LR automatically save it as a copy. Everytime you start from a raw file and open in Photoshop it creates a new PSD saved to the hard drive, whether you want it or not. Then if you do it again it adds another file with the next number in the name. My preference is to simply have LR open the file in PS and then let the user decide what to do with it from there.
By the way, I do enjoy using Lightroom.

Me too, please!
For the moment, I take care to save metadata to XMP in LR, then open the raw file directly in photoshop (ACR4.1 develop the files as in LR), and finally save a jpg (or whatever) image that I import and stack with the raw file - there should be a way to automate this workflow, shouldn't be?
Btw, I use Photoshop besides LR for 3 main reasons :
1 masked adjusment layers,
2 merge to HDR, either with the built-in HDR, or simply by blending two exposures with masks,
3 photomerge to make panoramas.
I understand there is a market to share between CS3 and LR ;o) but I'd like to see these functionalities implemented non-destructively in LR!
1 shouldn't be very different from the PS way of doing it, and for 2 and 3 a comfortable way to do that could be to use some sort of "ueber-stack" : select all images to join in a (kind of) stack, and then have the result image at the top of that stack?
Of course, I speak in a user point of view, not a programmer's one ;o)! But I'd really like to make all my PP work in 1 soft only, and LR seems very promising to me.
