Photoshop buttons, does it work with transparent back grounds...

uh, NO.  The FIOS network does not currently support ipv6 at a residence.  Probably the various components of there Home Control can support it.

Import the photos and create a small test book -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
If the preview is what you want then you can go ahead and create the book, preview it and order knowing tha the printed version will match the preview

Does pages support phantom background printing?

    Hi Joe,
Insert your picture (Insert > Choose, or Edit > Paste, or just drag it into your document. While selected, open Inspector > Wrap and use these settings:
To make the pic faint use Inspector > Graphic > Opacity.
Move the pic to where you want it, then turn off Background objects are selectable.
Now you can type or Paste the poem text over it. I don't have a flower pic, but here is a frill-neck lizard that visited my yard:

    Did you Preview it?
To make a PDF file using the background shortcut menu:
Open the book project, open the card project, or open the calendar project.
Press the Control key while you click in the background of your project.
    Do one of the following:
Choose “Save Book as PDF,” “Save Card as PDF,” or “Save Calendar as PFD” from the shortcut menu. In the window that appears, enter a name for the PDF file, enter a location to save the file to, and then click the Save button.
Choose Preview Book, Preview Card, or Preview Calendar from the shortcut menu. The Preview application opens and shows a PDF file of your project. You can save it just as you would any other document.

  • Saving photoshop file as pdf but transparent background turns white

Am trying to save file created as photoshop file (which has transparent background) as pdf to send to printer but when I reopen the saved pdf file it appears to be on a white background? Can anybody help please?

What are you "reopening" it with?
"Photoshop PDF" is not enough information. The PDF options window has various settings for PDF versions - Acorbat 4, Acrobat 5, Acrobat 6, etc. Actobat 4 will not include transparency or layers. Acrobat 5 will include layers but not transparency, Acorbat 6 will include both layers and transparency.

  • How to save transparent background images to have transparent background thumbnails with Photoshop 2014?

In old versions of Photoshop there was a feature that made thumbnail images have a transparent background.  I'm a CC member using Photoshop 2014 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.4 and every thumbnail of a transparent background image I've created in Photoshop 2014 appears on my desktop with a solid white box background that has a thin black outlined box inside of it.  How do I save the transparent background images I've created in Photoshop 2014 so they will appear on my desktop as thumbnails with a transparent background?   I'd like to continue to be able to replace the default background-less folder icon that that appears on files with transparent background thumbnails to customize my files as I use to do with older versions of Photoshop.

If your layered document has a Photoshop background layer it visibility need to be set off when saving a PNG or Gif file for Photoshop background layers do not support transparency.
Thumbnail may be a bit more complicated than you think. I do not use Lightroom, and only occasionally use the bridge.  I believe Lightroom and Bridge  keep thumbnails they develop for image files  in their library databases and caches.  Other programs do not have acces to  these.  RAW Files and Image files have Jpeg previews stored in then.  I believe most application use these previews jpeg to create thumbnails.  Jpeg format does not support transparency.
Icon on the desktop are not always thumbnails some are embedded icons in application modules other are icon in dll these may well have transparency. However image file on the desktop have generated thumbnails.  However you can create a shortcut for an image png file and create a icon with a transparent background for the png file and change the shortcut's icon for the png file to the transparent ico file you created for it.
Also many Photoshop release ago an Adobe module created Thumbnails for image files in Windows File explorer and most likely system file dialog. Adobe stopped supporting that stating Microsoft changes how windows works.
Today I use FastPictureViewer Codec Package to generate image thumbnails for image files including RAW and PSD files in File Explorer and system file dialogs.
I don't use a Mac don't know what available for your Mac.

  • Photoshop buttons with tranparent background display in IE 7 & 8 with a Black background

I added Photoshop buttons to my website and they display fine in IE 9, but when I tested it on Windows XP using IE 8 and on Windows Server 2003 using IE 7 these Photoshop buttons showed up with black background where it should have been transparent.
As a workaround I created a background in my PSD files to match the background of the website. However, this is not ideal because changing the website background in the future is now going to require editing all of the PSD buttons again.
The other strange thing I notices is that when I had these buttons originally in the header of a Horizontal Menu Widget they worked fine on IE 7 and 8. I'm not sure why when I remove them from the widget the background shows up black.
This definitely appears to be a BUG and hopefully Adobe can resolve it quickly.
Let me know if anyone else has experienced this problem and how you fixed it.

I do agree that it is probably related to the browser.  However, that does not explain why the same images display fine if they are in a horizontal menu widget.  It would seem that if they display one in a Muse website they should work anywhere in the site. Obviously that is not the case and must have something to do with the way a widget embeds the image.  I don't have an explain online since I already fixed the problem by removing the transparent background and matching the background color of the website in the photoshop PSD file.
If you want to see an example of what the site looks like know you can go here.  http://www.itouchandlearn.com/toddler-puzzles.html the buttons that I had a problem with are the App icons accross the top.
I originally had everything on a single page nesting the different app pages within the horizontal menu widget, but because everything was on one page it took to long to load.  To fix this problem I created new pages for each widget menu tab and moved everything out of the menu widget.  This is when the transparent background became a problem.

  • Lightroom does not create a background layer when editing in Photoshop - on Mac.

Thought this was a Photoshop problem.  When I select a portion of an image in Photoshop (which has come from Lightroom) and press Delete, it no longer brings up the Fill dialog; it just deletes the pixels.
After some discussion on the Photoshop forum, I see that now, when I tell Lightroom "Edit in Photoshop", it creates a file which does not have a Background layer, and this causes the Delete key to act differently.  This was not the case several weeks ago, but has just started to happen.  Is there any adjustment I can make to the "Edit In" settings to get a Background layer in Photoshop?
    JK

You must have changed a setting in Photoshop because  Lr has no influence on how Photoshop treats the background layer.
There is nothing you can do in Lr to change this behavior of Photoshop.
What happens in Photoshop is this: For some reason the image is opened with transparent background.Such an image does not have a background layer and the layer at the bottom does not have the constraints of a regular background layer.
I am not aware of any command or script in Photoshop that would automatically do this on opening a file.
Try this: Reset your Workspace (>Window >Workspace). If that doesn't help I'd suggest to ask on the Photoshop forum why your Photoshop opens an image with transparent background.
You could also try to re-install Photoshop, supposedly this would reset any hidden settings that are causing this.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 does not support the color space

I recently installed Photoshop 12 on my computer after a reformat. I was previously using Elements 10. i am not getting this error when trying to import photos from my camera. Photoshop Elements does not support the color space. I am using a Nikon D3200 camera to download from. I never had this problem with Elements 10 using the same camera. How do I fix this?

It turns out that this problem went away after the program crashed.  Everything seems to be working well now.

  • Images with transparent backgrounds in MDM

I've got several images in MDM with transparent backgrounds, yet when i look at these in image manager (or thumbnails in data manager) they look terrible. The transparency is black for example, among other issues. These images are all okay in photoshop, they have been saved as .png and imported through the data manager.
Has this import ruined these image files on the way in? When my search engines etc extract the images, what of the transparencies?

    Hi Adam,
MDM makes use of Internet Explorer quite frequently. I can imagine that this engine is also used to display images in MDM. However, Internet Explorer in version 6 does not support transparency in PNG images. That is why the black background occurs.
Since your images after upload are only saved in a binary object in the database, you should not encounter any data loss when using the same images. If you need to create variants, I would consider using Photoshop for the creation of those.
I hope that helps you further.
    Best regards
    Christian

  • Why can't make transparent background

i have a png image whit a blue background
if i select the background and press CANC photoshop ask me how i want to fill it, colour BG colour etc...
why i can't just delete the BG and make it transparent?
and another thing, when you have the 2 colour selection (on the left side) the white and the black square, is there a way to make the bottom square transparent? (i suppose is the grey square with a red line in it)
    http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/949/corsair_256mb_ssd_back.jpg

You can. First you need to convert the background layer to a normal layer for the Photoshop "Background" layer does not support transparency. Then select the white  area and delete it.
    Save as a png.

  • REALLY need some help with transparent background

This is really starting to bug me now as I have searched the forums and the web for hours and still cannot get this to work.
I am creating a simple one page site at http://freeselfhelpebooks.org/50ofTheBestPDProducts/
I want the header and footer image to have a transparent background with only the text showing, so that the text shows on the background image.
So far I have created the header image with a transparent background Modify > Canvas > Canvas Colour > Transparent all good so far.  I have added some text.  Then I save as file type PNG 32, however I still get the background as white as you can see above.
I have tried PNG 8 with alpha transparency, no transparency but to no avail.  I have even downloaded Photoshop CS6 and have the same issues.  What am I doing wrong here?

First of all, your header graphic is fine; it's a transparent PNG. Your footer is a JPEG, which does not support transparency, so you need to resave that file into a different format (like PNG32, or PNG8 w/alpha transparency).
As I was trying to suggest, if you're confused about your graphics, check them in a graphics editor or viewer, not in a web page inside a web browser. Web development is a complex beast, and a lot can go wrong.
In the HTML of your web page, there is a class called "content" being applied to tables and images. This class has a background image being applied to it, which is responsible for the white background on those elements.

  • Transparent Background EPS @ High Quality

I'm just pulling the little hair I have left out.( i'm on a mac, cs5)  I have a logo I created which is just  text. I need to have the logo have a transparent background.  The problem I'm having. Is I'm hearing different people say  Illustrator doesn't support transparency(  I doubt that).   I do all the normal things, file save as, select .eps  made sure  transparent was check,  fonts embedded. Saved.   I think everything cool..  When i view it in preview  it comes up with white background.   If I import into acrobat, still white background.  Import into photoshop, still white background.   How can I ensure it keeps the Transparent Background?   Or should I be saving as .ai?    One note also when I import it into photoshop, the resolution is only 72 not 300 as the original  file was in Illustrator.  A friend said I should've just created it in photoshop at 300dpi with a transparent background.

...I'm hearing different people say Illustrator doesn't support transparency...
It's the EPS format that does not support transparency.* I'm curious as to what in your workflow makes it necessary to use EPS.
Or should I be saving as .ai?
That would be my recommendation. Always use an application's native file format -- especially to save "master" versions of your work. Within the Creative Suite, you have the ability to export/import among applications using native files -- making possible such features as Smart Objects -- so why not take full advantage of the built-in capabilities?
If I import into acrobat, still white background.
If you want a PDF file that respects transparency, use Save As PDF in Illustrator.
(*EPS provides for an embedded "clipping path" which can be used by supporting applications to knock out background. This, however, is not true transparency. Photoshop, for example, can save out EPS images with clipping paths -- recognized by page layout applications and Illustrator. Going the other way, however, I know of no way for Illustrator to create an EPS clipping path that survives the rasterization that occurs when importing into Photoshop.)

  • Pdf with transparent background

I put a logo inside a PDF. The PDF has a transparent background. When I import the PDF into FCPX, the PDF's background is opaque white. When I import the same PDF into Motion 5, the PDF's background is transparent. I want  transparent backgrounds in FCP. How do I do it? Does FCPX support transparent PDF files?
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply Luis. True, png is an option. I prefer a vector based PDF file in this paticular case, because I want the ability to increase the PDF's scale in FCP and maintain fine detail. Unfortunately, raster based PNG files don't have the same flexibility.
    True.
But since with pdf you don't get the support for transparency,
    there is as middle-of-the-road solution.
You can rasterize and choose a big-enough resolution for your purposes.
In Preview, if you save as png, you can choose a resolution of, say, 300 dpi, or 3000 dpi.
Of course, the larger the resolution the larger a file you get. This is not as elegant a solution as a vector graphics, but it works and lets work with transparency. Call it a workaround if you will.
I suggest you keep the original pdf and try with a few different resolutions in png to find the sweet spot between file size and zoomability. Keep in mind that very large files may also diminish performance somewhat.

  • Save picture with keeping transparent background

How can I save a picture as JPEGG and keep de transparent background?

You can not as jpg does not support Transparency.
You might be able to save it with a Path and use the Path in a layout application but that is technically not proper Transparency.
For that you would need to save the image in a file format that does support it (psd, png24, …).
