Photoshop Button in Active State Returns to Normal After Rollover?

I'm working on a glossary reference website in Muse, and have hit a roadblock with my photoshop buttons.
I have created menu buttons in Photoshop that have two different states - one for active and rollover, and another for normal and down (the button is actually saved with four different layers/states, one for each, but for what the user will see, it's really only two options). I've used these menu buttons as rollover triggers for blank compositions, and when the user rolls over the button, the name of the page appears below it, and then disappears on rollout (otherwise the names would overlap and it would look very cluttered).
The issue that I have found is that, when I preview the page in my browser, the buttons appear to function properly in that they show up in the active state indicating that the page that they are linked to is the one that they are on.

However, when I rollout, the button reverts back to the normal/down state, even though I am still on the home page.
Below is a screenshot of the composition settings that I have set up for this widget. I tried switching the "Hide Target" to none, but since the target is referring to the word "Home", the word "Home" remained visible in addition to the button remaining in the active state, which is not what I want. I also tried selecting "Triggers on Top", but the issue was not solved here either.
What am I missing? How can I make sure that my button remains in the active state when on the page that it is linked to?

Sounds like a bug that's the fallout of the overloaded meaning of "Active" state. "Active" is both the state used for an item with a hyperlink applied that points to the current page (or an anchor point in the current scroll range on the current page) and the state used for a trigger or thumbnail in a Composition or Slideshow widget that corresponds to the a current active item in the composition or slideshow.
It appears we honor the hyperlink definition of "Active" on page load for a composition trigger with a hyperlink to the current page applied, but don't honor that definition of active when transition to having no items in the composition active (or presumable when transition to having a different item in the composition active).
The only workaround that comes to mind would be the very tedious approach of replicating this composition widget on each page, removing the hyperlink on the "active" trigger and manually formatting it's "Normal" state to appear active.
I've written up the bug. However, it may not get fixed immediately. (We tend to collect smaller fixes in an area and then address them all at once or when other changes are planned in that area, due to the overhead involved in ramping up to work on an area and thoroughly retest it after changes.)

That line is for pop up message?You would typically use a tool tip for that.

Canon 6D - Overexposed images after standby/power-off, returns to normal after initial shot

Hi guys.
I just recently got back from a long trip and on that long trip, I noticed my 6D has developed an interesting issue.
Here's the deal.
My 6D happens to terribly overexpose an image, but ONLY after being put in stand-by/sleep or being powered-off for an X amount of time.
Once I take a shot after being powered back on again, all returns to normal.
Below are some examples of what I am experience and you can tell by the RAW data, all the parameters are the same but the exposures are different.
When it began, I did not alter my original settings since getting the camera in January. I tried resetting my factory settings and it still happens. It will happen on pretty much any of my lenses, so this leads me to believe it is an issue with the body (either my 24-105 4L or my Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art)
What say you Canon crew, do I need to send it in for a warranty claim? Your assistance = greatly appreciated. Thanks!
PS: My next troubleshooting step is to reflash the firmware....I will update this thread accordingly to share if this makes a difference.

It's overexposing the first shot, but the settings are identical? Yeah, I'd say that's going back to Canon.
Just out of curiosity though, does it happen in JPG too? Are the shots we're looking at the jpg preview embedded in the RAW, or the RAW file itself?

Application freezes while running and returns to normal after execution

I deployed an application and it works fine.. but
once running and I click on a button Execute (does the work) the application freezes up until it finishes and then return to its normal screen
when i minimize it and maximize it while running just the border of the application pops up with nothing in the middle at the time it is running
how can i prevent it to freeze

Photoshop button not working inside of target?

I'm operating OSX Snow Leopard and the latest edition of Muse 2.2. However, I was having these issues with the version before 2.2 as well.
I created a simple photoshop file containing 2 states Normal and Over. When I place as photoshop button outside of the target it functions properly. When I place within the target it does not. Any suggestions? I'm using the tooltip composition widget.

It does not depend on the version of Photoshop. It will be same for all the versions.
I understand what you are trying to explain. I would like to tell you that it works outside the trigger because when it is outside the rigger it is not in active state.
However, when you take it inside a trigger, whenever the trigger is selected, it comes to active state. And "Whenever a link/button is in active/visted state, other states do not work on it".
And as you said you only have two states i.e Normal and Rollover, when you insert such photoshop buttons into Muse it automatically copies the normal state settings to Active state and the rollover state settings to mouse down state.

Now, please try and insert the photoshop button in the second trigger instead of first trigger of the widget. Wthout clicking on it, just check if the color of the button inside the second trigger changes or not on hovering the mouse over it. It ideally should.
But once you click on the second trigger, it will make it active (Whose colour is same as the normal state in your case) and all other states will stop working.

How do I import a Photoshop button (including it's different states) into the muse menu widget?

I had the idea of using the "place Photoshop button" option to configure the states in my horizontal menu bar in Muse. I started out trying to use the widget, after playing with the options it seems I can either load each individual state one at a time in manual mode or I can try to make a menu bar from the buttons and manually place the respective links. I would be grateful for a suggestion or alternative method that is as easy as the "place Photoshop button" option, I love that feature. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: I found that I could use Fill image then in import fill options, import layer + clip layer contents for each of the states. It was working very well but I noticed an error in one of my buttons states so I had to go back to Photoshop. When I returned to start this process again and I clicked import layer, the states are all flat plain text without any of the blending options I had set for each state. The odd part is that I can see all the layers in composite, but it will not let me place each layer as it did before.
After several frustrating hours going through every step I edited and even trying to load the buttons I thought were exactly the same file I used before I could not find what I had done differently to cause this. I did successfully place each Photoshop button in empty space and the cut and paste them into the menu. Which is way easier then the original method. I would like to know if anyone has an idea what went wrong for the sake of knowledge. Also thought that this cut paste method might help others trying to build menu buttons outside of Muse.

I'm afraid Photoshop is a graphics program ill suited for generating good HTML and CSS code. Use Photoshop to create your images only. Use DW to build your HTML, CSS and menus.

HELP: Photoshop Button Hover Rollover State Flickers (jumps) Upon First Preview

All photoshop buttons flicker (jump abruptly) before the rollover state is displayed in preview mode and in browser for the 1st time. After that the behavior is normal. The rollover and hover image displays without a flicker. Why all the graphics not preloaded to prevent this mega-annoying issue? Is there a work around?
I tried INSERT HTML option as an alternative to photoshop buttons using the following code, since it works flawlessly on other web building programs, but it doesn't even work in Adobe Muse. I am stock and don't know how to work around this issue.

I love the convenience of photoshop button but the results are truely unprofessional on first loading. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a URL to a site using Photoshop buttons placed in Muse? My guess is that the images are very large and taking some time to load initially.

Active State Button

I can't get my movie track button to change 'states'. It works fine on a computer. On a DVD deck it's impossible to know when a track has been selected. You can't tell when to push 'Enter' on the remote. Of course on a Mac, it's just point the mouse and click to make the track play.
My button is the movie track, dragged and dropped, so video track icon is also a button. I have tried to assign colors on the Normal, Selected and Active settings, but it doesn't show colors in the Simulator.
How do I get the button (movie track) to change when it is selected?

I changed my workflow to make the active state work. I added a button to the menu and then linked the button to the track media. When done that way, the buttons could display an active state for selecting a track using a deck remote.
I consulted my training DVD from macprovideo.com.

I updated MUSE and now the anchors stop working after one click. Active state on the buttons are not working either. The vertical scroll also stops working. Is this a bug.

I updated to Adobe Muse 2014 and now the anchors on my site stop working on the page after one click. Vertical scroll and active state on the buttons also do not work. Is this a bug?

Button active state using compressed art

I have a PSD button placed in Muse, and noticed that after upgrading Muse to 6.0, that the "active" state of a button seems to be using severly compressed artwork. The other states all seem to be using non-compressed images. This may have been an issue in earlier builds, and I just may not have noticed it.

Hi OldPete71$$$... You are not alone. I am taking my iPad3 to the Apple store later today - I had to wait to get an appointment - for this very problem. This error did not occur until I updated to 8.1.1. I have not tried letting the device sit, I have been doing a hard reboot to recover functionality. If it's any consolation, I *can* delete apps through the iTunes interface, it's just very sloooooow. I can't delete internet shortcuts that I've stored on the home screen this way, though.

Creating an "active" state for a button

I am creating a page with six buttons that need to have an
active state when clicked, ie., the button currently clicked needs
to change colors to signify that it has been selected. Then it
needs to change back to its original color when another button is

A workaround I like is using movieclips instead of buttons.
With actionscript they can act like buttons without being a button.
Just make a moviclip with keyframes, each frame being a different
button state.
Ex:
frame 1 - button off
frame 2 - button on
frame 3 - buton active
sample AS attached to frame:
button1.onPress = function(){
button1.gotoAndStop(3); //makes button 1 active
button2.gotoAndStop(1); //makes button 2 go to off state
button3.gotoAndStop(1); //makes button 3 go to off state
button1.onMouseOver = function(){

My syntax may not be 100% correct, but the theory is there to
help you figure it out.

Retain activated state on a 'subtitles on' button

I have a main menu with 10 buttons to link to videos. On the same menu I have two buttons for 'subtitles on' and 'subtitles off'
Is it possible to retain the activated state of these buttons so that the viewer knows which button has been selected thus telling them whether subtitles are 'on' or 'off'
At the moment I seem to have to click twice at the buttons to get the 'activated' state which then disappears back to norman state if I roll over the other buttons on the menu.

Yes, this gets very complicated. I agree it would be nice, but the feature is just not there.
The better method is to have a single menu for the project that handles subtitles. The user can go there to see what the status is. Since it does not change until they change it, they usually don't need to be reminded on every menu.

Active state not working in scrolling site (with anchor links)

I'm design a scrolling site with anchor links and an horizontal menu on the top.
when i publish the site and click on the menu buttons the site scrolling to the place of the anchor but the active state in the menu is not working.
now... when i leave the main page (were the scrolling site is) and then return back to it all active states are working perfectly
anyone have this bug? or any one know how to fix it ?

Hmmm...I've just been playing around, and I think I got the Active State to work correctly. I think my problem was not understand what Active State means.
To answer your question, I was changing the Font Color and Box Fill Color of the Active State.
I did not understand that Active State means the look of the Menu Item when the PAGE is active. I thought it meant the look of the Menu item when the cursor is scrolling down the Menu (i.e. when the MENU is Active, not the page).

When you hover over the "Work" menu item, and move the cursor down the menu, the state of "Work" remains changed until you move the cursor off of that menu column. It does NOT return back to it's Normal state until you are off of that menu column.
Is there a way to achieve this with the menu states in Muse?

Can a Photoshop button be used as a Lightbox trigger?

I've brought in a layered PSD file as a button with different states, but instead of the button linking to another page or similar, I'd like it to trigger a lightbox image that triggers a different hero image. Or, thinking about it in another way, can a lightbox thumbnail be replaced with not only a different image than the hero, but also has normal, rollover and down states?
Is this possible?

You can achieve this by using the Lighbox widget under "Compositions" option in widget.
First indert the Lighbox widget (from Compositions catagory in Widgets)
To insert the Photoshop button, Go to File>Place Photoshot button.
Select the PSD file and place it on the page.
Now click on the Photoshop button on the page and drag and drop it inside the Trigger of the Widget (Make sure the mouse pointer is inside the trigger and then release the mouse click to make sure it gets placed inside the trigger).
And you can add a different image/content for target container as well.
One quick tip : Click on "Hide all initially" option in Lightox widget properties (Which comes up when you click on small white arrow in blue circle when any Widget item is selected) to make sure all the states/layers of the button works.
