Photoshop c3 not seeing scanner in Import

Following an OS X 10.8.2 upgrade on my iMac, my Canon Pixma 495 scanner won't work with CS3 Photoshop. It no longer shows up under File/Import. Hopefully a minor tweak in Permissions can fix this, but I've seen nothing about it so far. Preview and Canon's scanner software prefs pane works ok, but so far not Photoshop or Adobe Pro.

Although Adobe did some testing of CS3 and Mountain Lion, they acknowledge that something might show up. If your scanner works fine with everything else, I'd suggest contacting Adobe to see if they can be of any help. You also might check in their user forums.

CS3 Photoshop Does Not See Scanner

I am running 10.7.5 Intel Core i5. Before I zapped my PRAM, I used to be able to go to> Import and choose EPSON Perfection V33/V330… and now I get a message that says: CS3 Photoshop -- Could not complete the import command because there is no scanner installed. What the heck did I do to get it going the first time? Vue Scan Twain is giving me the color beach ball of death. Whining :- o I like to scan in photoshop and have the scanned file open directly.

Try Preview or Image Capture to see if scan is working.

Photoshop does not see scanner...can't import scanned images

I recently migrated from Windowx XP (32 bit) to Windows 7 (64bit). On the xp computer, I installed the driver for my epson V500 photo scanner, and when go to File--> Import, there is an option to import via espon scanner. However, in Window 7, with Photoshop CS4 64 bit installed, the installed scanner does not show up on the import menu. I don't know how to get it to see the scanner as it does on my XP machine. I tried copying the photoshop plugins/import-export folder from the xp machine to photoshop (64)/plugind/import-export folder, but that didn't make a difference.
I really need the scanner to be visible inside photoshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about 64 bit TWAIN there is none, and probalby will never be one. Too many techincal problems.
Most advise you scan with the scanner software and save to a location. Many like this better as it does not tie up PS when scanning.

I see that you are not able to scan over the wireless network. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Deskjet 4645)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
I have provided a document to make sure the Scan to Computer is enabled. You will have to select 10.8, then Network Connection. A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays When Scanning for HP Officejet 4610 ...
If you are still not able to scan, then I would connect the printer to the computer by a USB cable to see if it is a network issue or the scan port might be blocked on the router. Unfortunately the printer isn't accessible in the same room, but this will rule out a software issue or a network issue. You can contact the router company to check and open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router for scanning.

Photoshop CS4 not seeing all RAM on Mac?

I just noticed my Photoshop CS4 is not "seeing" all of the RAM I have installed on my MacPro (2x3Ghz), running Snow Leopard 10.6.1.
My "About This Mac" reports (correctly) that I have 6GB of RAM installed.
However, Photoshop's Preferences > Performance window says there is only "3072 MB" available -- or half what I have installed. I know there is system overhead for the OS, but this is with no other applications running.
I know the Windows version of Photoshop is limited to seeing 2GB RAM because it's 32-bit, but I didn't think that limitation applied to the Mac side.
I've run the memtest application on the Mac, and it doesn't report any physical problems with my chips.
Is there anything else I can check or try to get Photoshop to recognize all 6GB of RAM?

Surprise... you are running a 32bit app as well. That is why you cannot see more RAM for Photoshop.
(Windows installs a 32- and a 64-bit executable. Mac only installs a 32-bit app)

-- The name corresponds to PhotoShop Elements 9.
-- I am working presently with PhotoShop Elements 10. And the name seams not to correspond.

Help Xerox c1190 All in one MFP. All working but can not see Scanner

Hi all,
I hope someone can help. I just bought a new Xerox C1190 MFP. I run a small wireless network via airport express b/g and an imac and macbook pro.
I connected the xeroc all in one to the airport by USB
After a long tough search i found the up dated drivers for 10.6.2 and all working fine except for the scanner.
Image ready and the network just cannot see the scanner. No matter what i do. Driving me nuts. No info anywwhere. The singapore xerox people say its an apple problem abd the apple people say its a xerox problem.
Image ready just can not see the scanner but in the print and fax preferences i can see the printer and printer works no problem. The scanner just does not appear connected.
Has anybody got any idea on how to solve this problem?
Also, i read in the manual that you can set up the Xerox by USB AND Ethernet. I thought i could run the printer on USB and set up the scanner to run on as a network IP item. Basically set up the Xerox to run as both USB and Network IP .
My problem is that when it comes to setting up IP address and stuff like that i need step by step instructions. Completely confused about IP addressing and how to set up a network item.
Could anyone please help.

Have Photoshop Elements 12, recently purchased Epson Workforce WF-7620 Printer/scanner , cannot import scanned pictures into Photoshop, does not see the Printer/scanner.

Is it trying to get you to join photoshop.com? The easiest way around that is not to use the welcome screen. Go into the program files and make direct shortcuts for the organizer and/or editor and start PSE that way from now on. Photoshop.com is dead and gone so the welcome screen will hang up trying to connect to something that no longer exists.

PS CS5 not seeing scanner in File Import

I've upgraded from CS3 to CS5 and PS doesn't see my scanner in File > Import.
I looked in the CS3 PS Import/Export folder and see a TWAIN.plugin, but don't see one in the CS5 PS Import-Export folder.
Should I copy the TWAIN.plugin into the CS5 folder? Or is interacting with scanners handled differently in CS5 vs CS3?
The scanner is a Canon LIDE 600F, and if I launch CS3 I can scan no problem.

You'll need the TWAIN plug-in for CS5 (moving the old one from CS3 or CS4 is NOT a good idea)

After you install the TWAIN Plug-in, you will likely need to run Photoshop in 32bit mode because most scanners have 32bit TWAIN drivers.

Photoshop CC Not Seeing All of System Ram

I have a Windows 7 -64 bit Professional system with 24 gb of ram. Photoshop CS 5 and 6 had no problem seeing that much ram, but Photoshop CC only shows a little less than 4 gb.

Photoshop CC installs a 32 bit exe and a 64 bit exe on your system. Use the 64 bit version under Program Files. or type Photoshop CC in the Start Menu's search box. You should see Photoshop CC 64-bit in the list.
The 32-bit version is the one with the 4 GB ceiling, but some users have legacy 32-bit plugins and drivers that have not been updated and won't work in the 64 bit version.

Photoshop will not allow to save imported Aperture Files as jpg

After importing raw files into Aperture, then importing into Photoshop, the option to 'save as jpg' is no longer available. Why? Or better yet, what do I need to do to be able to resume saving my psd files as jpgs?

First, convert your PSD files to 8 bit mode. Then you will be able to save as JPG.

C4599 on wirless network / computer does not see scanner

Printer works fine and is seen by home computer and laptop, but it keeps losing the scanner. I'm reinstalling software now as I type. Any ideas?

One more thing to try is to set a DHCP reservation for your printer's and computer's IP address in your wireless-router. Then reinstall the SW.
The HP printer SW sometimes gets lost when the IP address for either the printer or computer changes after the SW has been installed.
You can do the same thing using static IP addresses. I prefere DHCP reservations; they are safer since your sure not to get a duplicate IP address on your network using this method.

Import new photos into iphoto, browser not seeing recent "last import"

I use several web based applications that ask to upload photos. I go into browse and iphoto and for some reason it won't pull the last imported photos - it is as if the browser is caching the old events and last import. When I exit FireFox and iPhoto and restart my machine it will see them. I must be missing a plug in or something - any ideas?????

I can hear but not see avi's imported from my digital camera

I can't play avi files from videos I have taken on my digital camera. When I open them, I can hear the audio but I can't see the video. Is there a solution to this problem?

Why does Photoshop Elements not see my CD/DVD drives?

I have a CD/DVD drive and a Blu-Ray drive. Windows sees both and has no issues, but Elements does not show them for catalog backups nor even in the system information.

I'm not familiar with the Daemon tools programme but the loss of the CD/DVD drive is a known problem when removing certain software from you notebook.
