Photoshop cannot open EM5 II RAW files even with 8.8 ACR?!

I have an active Adobe CC subscription so my Photoshop is already the latest version, but when I try to open EM5 II .ORF files, I get message "Photoshop cannot open this file." (see attached screenshot)
EM5 II is already officially supported according to Camera Raw 8.8 announcement page so why can't Photoshop open it? I thought there's something wrong with my setup so I downloaded and installed Camera Raw plug-in installer manually but the result is still the same.
I even uninstalled my Photoshop CC 2014 using Creative Cloud and reinstalled it, I just keep getting the same message.
Any other things I can try?

You are right, when I go to Help > Camera Raw, I see plugin version is only 8.7
But I've run the Camera RAW plugin installer specified in my post above, and DNG Converter is already at the proper 8.8
Why is Camera RAW not updating to 8.8 via Creative Cloud or the manual install? Inside Photoshop, I also went to Help > Updates but it's telling I already have the latest update.
Help!!!

  • Cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5

    Hello!
I cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5
Camera Raw Version is 5.0.0.178, PS CS5 Version 11.0.2
Anyone have a suggestion that does not involve upgrading to a newer version of Photoshop?
    Thanks!

Does this mean that I can't get Camera Raw 7.3 with Photoshop CS5?
    Naturally.
Photoshop CS5 does not use ACR 7.
I did read about using the free DNG Converter but that seems like an extra step I would prefer to avoid if possible.
Either upgrade Photoshop or use another means to process the RAW files, and cost-wise DNG Converter can hardly be beat.

  • Mac OS 10.9.4 cannot open the NEF/RAW files from the new Nikon D810 Camera

I have a new Nikon D810 camera. My new iMac cannot open the NEF/RAW files from it...Anyone have any knowledge of this?

If you will take the time to send Apple feedback, they will add RAW support - when I got my Canon, it wasn't supported either. I filed feedback and, two months, later, there was an update which included my camera model.

  • I have re-installed PS CS4 and Bridge onto my new Macbook Pro, but I cannot open or edit RAW files?

I just bought a new Macbook, and I tried transferring my Photoshop CS4 and Bridge to my new one via my external Hard Drive. It's worked in the past (I did it when transferring my desktop to my laptop), but this time, I am unable to open or edit RAW files. Bridge won't even allow me the option of "Camera Raw Settings" when going under "File".
I've tried searching for answers to my questions through these forums, and the closest I have gotten is that I need to download the updated Camera Raw plug-in, and I can't find it. Also, I need to download the update to the DNG or something like that, which I did, and that still doesn't work. I've extracted and refiled my RAWs to DNG's, and they will still not open in either Bridge, nor Photoshop. So, now I'm feeling helpless and I'm getting very frustrated at this point.
I shoot with a Canon 7d in RAW format. I've done this for years, and my computers have opened them with CS4 since I've had it.
I appreciate any and all help, thank you!

"Moving", copying, transferring or migrating Adobe applications is to be avoided at all costs.
Always install from the original media, from scratch, then apply all updates available all over again.  The Camera Raw plug-in, for example, is buried deep inside your root level Library.
Your best course of action is to uninstall CS4, download and run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and re-install CS4 as per the previous paragraph.

  • Cannot open Sony A900 raw files in Photoshop Elements 10

new installation of elements 10, replacing elements 8.  Unable to open raw files (sony alpha 900)  adobe camera raw is not listed in the plug in menu, automatic updates is up to date, attempts to download camera raw 6.4 result in a message saying the update is not applicable to the application.

Before going through the document it would be helpful to select the Help > Look for updates option. Some users reported it fixed the Camera Raw 6.6 problem automatically.
If you are facing trouble opening your clicked images in Elements, there is an elaborate document which covers a number of errors, problems, and lists solutions for the same. The document can be found at: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/troubleshoot-camera-raw-photoshop-photoshop.html

  • PS CS2 can't open D80 Raw files even with correct plug-in

I am on a PC running Photoshop CS2. I cannot open RAW images from my Nikon D80. I have installed the Camera RAW plug-in (3.6) as instructed. The files still won't open. I'm very frustrated.

No, you are not doing things correctly yet. The DNG converter is a separate, stand-alone program. It does not require Photoshop or any other program other than your operating system to run. You use it to convert your raw images to the Digital negative (DNG) format, and then you would open those DNG files with Photoshop CS and the correctly installed Camera Raw 2.4. The DNG files still contain all of the raw data, and you can achieve the same results from those files as you can the original raw files from your camera. If you are not willing or able to update your version of Photoshop, then this is the route you will have to go in order to work on your raw images.
Added later: since the DNG converter is a separate program, it can be placed anywhere on your computer. I find it easy to simply leave it on the desktop so that I can drag the images from my camera (via card reader) onto the DNG converter. Then all you have to do is follow the prompts in the DNG converter to configure the conversion the way you want it.

  • Cannot open my G11 raw files in Bridge CS3.

I just downloaded my G11 raw files onto my computer. Usually, I do a quick glance in Bridge CS3 but they do not open. I do have Photoshop CS4, but that doesn't help me, right? What do I need to do to open these?  I've already updated my Bridge CS3 to 2.1.1.9.
    I am using Mac G5, OS 10.5.x.

But be aware that CS4 comes with ACR 5.0
You will need to update it to version 5.6 for the G11.
    It's on this page:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • Photoshop Cannot Open Recently Saved 1GB File

I created a file today for a tradeshow display.  The image saved and is approx 1.23GB.
I attempted to reopen the file and received an error message that the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop.
I'm running a Mac Pro with plenty of RAM etc.
Any thoughts on how to recover the layered file OR prevent this in the future?

You're not saving across a network, are you?
This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • Cannot Open Nikon D90 Raw files in Photoshop Elements 7

Does anyone have advice on how to get Photoshop Elements 7 to read Nikon D90 Camera Raw (.NEF) images? When I try to open one of these Raw images, I get an error message saying that the program does not recognize that file type.

The D90 was supported as early as ACR 5.1 so you should download the PSE-specific version of ACR 5.6 from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ via the drop-down list at the top, and following the PSE-specific link and instructions.

  • Cannot read Cannon S100 RAW files on Aperture

Aperture cannot read canon S100 RAW files even after the latest update. Cannot install old updates once the latest is installed.
Should i try to reinstall Aperture and download the specific update for the Canon S100? or does the latest update include old ones?
    Thanks,

Not sure now the link I posted got changed but here OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats is the correct link.
If you are running the latest software (BTW what version of Aperture are you running?) and still cannot see the raw files from your S100 try opening them in Preview and see if they work there.  If they do not work in Preview also then as was written above you probably need to change the settings on the camera.
    regards
