Photoshop CC 2014 pop-up windows look out-dated
Hi All,
So somehow a setting has changed in my Photoshop 2014 CC preferences...
The pop up boxes, like the layer styles window that opens after double clicking a layer, look different to how they're meant to.
See attached images below.
I can't see any obvious settings in Preferences > Interface that would affect this.
How do expect them to look?
The ones in photoshop cc 2014 have a more grayish look than previous versions of photoshop.

Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse
Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse can be quite a challenge. Even if you use the experimental 2x UI. You can not use your fingers or to quickly change tools and change settings. You have no shortcut without popping up Windows touch keyboard or leave it up taking a great deal of screen space. If you're using the 2x UI Photoshop uses the screen at half resolution so it displays 1/4 the amount of pixels it could.
Fortunately I found a little touchkey utility on the web the lets you design your own touch keyboards. The can be transparent and you can even paint under them as long as you start the stroke outside the keyboard area. The keyboards can be toggles on and off so you can actually use Photoshop. The utility is small and requires not installation can be run form anywhere. I purchased a Surface Pro 3 a week ago. Its a full fledge PC. Through the home group I can access all machines in my house and using network shares I can access all files on my machines and the network drive on my router, I can print on my Epson 4800 printer. I can show slideshow on my HDTV via Bluetooth using a Microsoft wireless display adapter. I can plug in my Wacom Intuos Pro wireless receiver into the USB 3 port and use my Wacom tablet. Have a very touchy machine. Touch on the keyboard touch pad touch on the Display display and on the Wacom tablet. Could have touch on a mouse but I prefer the Microsoft comfort bluetooth mouse that has six buttons and a four way wheel.
As a tablet its under two pounds. Its quite impressive cost why mor the an iPad but worth the cost to me for with windows I can get at the file system. If you have a Surface Pro 3 you should check out "Touchkey" its handy.Do a screen screen capture and post it here so we can see what you stating about a white layout...

Hi Adobe
You a have a really wonderful PhotoShop CC product. It's really great, and I know new versions such as 2014 have their teething problems.
But I am getting really sick of my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit PC being crashed whenever I try to use PhotoShop CC 2014 Sharpen / Blur Reduction and also Noise Reduction.
This happens both with JPG's and PSD's.
Please sort your **** out and get some patches out to address this quickly !!
Chris TattersallChris,
It doesn't crash for everyone. A person could be forgiven for saying, in return, "Please sort out your **** system problems".
Trust me when I say many, many problems are caused by the computer system setup not being up to the needs of this cutting-edge graphics software. Photoshop is heavily dependent on the GPU, and GPU drivers are notorious for having bugs (they're primarily written to run games).
However, that being said, recent driver releases from both ATI and nVidia do actually work pretty well with Photoshop CC 2014.
What video card do you have?
What display driver version are you running?
If you're unsure how to tell these things, go into Photoshop, choose Help - System Info, copy the data, and post it here.

Hi there,
As the title describes it's a Photoshop bug not a Wacom driver issue. Interestingly the Lightroom is working fine.
Check this video please:
Photoshop CC 2014 bug com messas graficas - YouTubeOk, I understand that it is necessary to use the Windows 8 Ink but then why is it works perfectly in Lightroom? It's pretty difficult drawing if I want to start a line with a slow motion and the circle comes up nearly always.
I believe that many Photoshop users use Wacom products. Why don't you talk each other guys (Adobe & Wacom) and try to find a solution even if Microsoft made your life a bit exotic? -
Photoshop CC 2014 3D menu functions greyed out
I can't seem to get 3D options enabled in CC 2014. I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro Retina with 16gb of ram & a 1GB 650m running 10.9.3 and that well exceeds the system requirements.
I have "Use graphics processor" selected in the performance tab and the 3d tab shows 970mb of available VRAM but all the 3d options are still greyed out, I even used a 3rd party app to force my laptop to run at a non retina resolution and that pushed available VRAM over 1000mb but it didn't help. I've tried restarting the app and computer.
I opened up CC (2013) on the same machine and the 3d options are there and the 3d performance is very good and snappy so I can't see any good reason why adobe would artificially limit the 2012 retina macbook pro to not be able to use the feature at all.Hy,
I had the same problem with Photoshop CC 2014. I have on-board video card with shared memory. After I changed the video card RAM to 512 and set the Photoshop Preferences to maximum, the problem was resolved.
I attached a photo to see more details. Hope you will solve the problem soon . -
Photoshop CC 2014 Extensions Pulldown Menu Grayed Out
I was trying to access the Kuler panel when I realized the Extensions Pulldown is grayed out. CC version is okay.
I didn't found any hint about that in the web.
I googled and came across this little gem buried deep in an Adobe Help article.
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/generate-assets-layers.html
"Disable image asset generation for all documents
You can disable image asset generation globally for all Photoshop documents by modifying your Preferences.
Select Edit > Preferences > Plug-Ins.
Deselect Enable Generator.
Click OK."
So I figured the reverse steps (to enable) would work in your case
I never knew that Preference existed until you asked this question. The things you learn. -
Setting Photoshop CC 2014 as my "Default Program" to open JPEG files in Windows 7
I just installed Photoshop CC 2014 on my Windows 7 computer. I had set Photoshop as my "Default Program" to open up JPEG files. Now whenever I double-click a JPEG file, Photoshop CC will launch instead of Photoshop CC 2014. I have noticed that the executable files for all versions of Photoshop are "Photoshop.exe" (no wonder Windows gets confused). If I changed the name of the executable file for Photoshop CC 2014 to something like "Photoshop2014.exe" then Windows will let me choose the program as my "Default Program" to open up a JPEG, however this makes it impossible for me to open up files in Lightroom. Lightroom will default back to Photoshop CC.
I have changed the name of the executable file for Photoshop CC 2014 back to "Photoshop.exe" and renamed all the executable files for my legacy versions of Photoshop. This still does not work.
Do I need to make some types of change in the registry? This is from the post at this site: Re: Adobe CS6 file associations are all messed up
Just change the directory to the correct EXE for cc 2014 and you should be good.
Correct Answerby Curt Y on Jun 5, 2012 7:08 PM
Here is a registy fix for Win7 machines to the file association problem.
This from TinusHDCA user:
I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image... -
Filters Are Not Working in Photoshop CC 2014
Mac Book Pro 13" Retina OS 10.9.3
I recently downloaded and installed Photoshop CC 2014 as part of my Creative Cloud License. When I attempt to use any Filter in the Filter Gallery (Blur, Distort, Noise, etc.) The window pops up showing the filter, it shows the preview affect. However, when I click OK, the filter is not applied. I have tried it on a raw file, a jpeg file, on an 8 bit and 16 bit file.
When I go through the same steps with Photoshop CC it works fine.
I appreciate any suggestions. I can continue to use Photoshop CC; however, when I am in Lightroom and select 'edit in' it launches Photoshop CC 2014 and I cannot figure out how to change it to launch Photoshop CC instead.Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?
Maybe you should go through the usual trouble-shooting routines:

Photoshop CC 2014 keeps crashing
I've downloaded and installed Photoshop CC 2014. It all looks OK but when I open an image, photoshop crashes. I get the message 'Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working'.
I'm running Windows 8, so not sure if it's a Photoshop issue or Windows issue. Any ideas?
ChrisPhotoshop crashes on both platforms for many different reasons. Not all problems are in Adobe's code. Many 3D problems are caused by device driver problems. All crashes on a system may not because of a single problem. Just look at Adobe Photoshop Install trees Photoshop, Bridge and Common Files there is over 2GB of file data mostly executable code. There are many documented problems in Adobe Product however the current version with the updates are quite stable. When install on supported OS update levels and proper device drivers. There are many possible hardware system and devices . Some configuration are not supported like multiple GPU the are not identical. Both Microsoft and Apple crate crash reports examining these help you isolate where problems are. If a crash reporter pops up I be willing to bet the was a crash. You may have exited photoshop so in your mind Photoshop did not quit unexpectedly. However when you exit Photoshop, Photoshop has a lot of housekeeping to do. It needs to clean up afters itself. Return Ram, Scratch disk space, close work file etc. So its possible for Photoshop to crash and even hang after you use Photoshop exit. I feel Mac user have a harder time of it when problem are in device drivers for it seems Apple has the last word of what software is allow on in Mac OS. You can not just get the latest driver from the manufacturer.

Photoshop CC 2014.1 crashing
Been using Photoshop CC 2014.1 since it came out and just recently I have been getting several crashes where I get the spinning Beach Ball. It actually ends up crashing my computer. I reinstalled PSD CC 2014 but it still happens. I also have PSD CS6. Tried opening the same file in that program and it also crashed. Tried opening it on my other computer (MacBook Pro - 4 year old computer) and it worked fine. Occasionally I get a message that says "Scratch Disk Error". I use a 27 inch iMac running OS 10.9.4 - 32GB of Ram. Any help would be great.
Hi,
I appreciate my answer probably won't help but might point in the right direction. I had the same problem albeit PC based - I found by trial and error that Photoshop CC crashed/was unstable and took Windows with it when I was also using TomTom's My Connect service, Photoshop remained this way (same symptoms you described) even when I stopped using the TomTom service - until a reboot.
TomTom My Connect is their online "utility" for updating their portable sat navs, the crash occurred when both the utility was running and the sat nav connected via USB.
I find it interesting that two essentially online services caused one to crash?

Photoshop CC 2014/Intuos tablet causing PS to freeze, HELP!!
Hi folks,
I've recently run into a serious issue that has stopped my workflow in its tracks. It has to do with some bizarre incompatibility issues between Photoshop CC 2014, Wacom Intuos tablets and Windows 8.1. I do not exactly know which one of those is the culprit, so here are some details.
The issue occurs whenever I use any keyboard shortcut involving the control key (step backwards is the big one) and the brush tool at the same time. If I try to make a brush stroke before fully releasing the shortcut keys (especially longer brush strokes), Photoshop completely freezes. It stays frozen until I move the stylus far away enough from the tablet that it no longer detects hovering; after a moment, the program will begin to function normally again. This doesn't ALWAYS happen; it seems to be more common when working in a document with many layers. If I open a new blank document, I can't get the glitch to work at all, but if I create a stack of layers with a few brush marks in each, the glitch can be reproduced easily almost 100 percent of the time.
Some more details:
-It happens with all Intuos drivers currently available via Wacom, including the ones on the legacy drivers page.
-The glitch is ONLY present in Photoshop CC 2014, not in older versions. However, I do not wish to roll back because I am working on a Surface Pro 3 and want to be able to pan and zoom using touch, which was only introduced in this version.
-It happens on all computers running Window 8/8.1, as well as the Windows 10 Technical Preview (I work for a tech company and have access to all varieties of test machines). Curiously, it does not seem to occur in Windows 7. I am able to reproduce the glitch immediately on every non-Win7 machine I install PS CC 2014 on. However, I require Windows 8+ for its touch-friendly features on the Surface.
-The glitch happens with (seemingly) all Intuos tablets, not just my Intuos 3 tablet. I actually purchased a new Intuos 4 from Best Buy to see if that would resolve the issue, but it persisted exactly the same.
-It does NOT occur when drawing on the screen with the N-Trig pen that came with my SP3 -- it ONLY occurs when using a Wacom tablet.
And here's the big one:
-De-selecting "Use Windows Ink" under the "mapping" tab in my Intuos settings causes the issue to go away entirely, but also disables pressure sensitivity, so this is not a viable option.
My suspicion is that this is some weird incompatibility between Photoshop CC 2014 and the Windows Ink API (my understanding is that this version of Photoshop ditched the old Wintab API for Windows Ink). Hopefully it will be ironed out in a future PS CC update.
In the mean time, does anybody have any ideas? I'm also posting at some Photoshop forums, but I figured someone here might be able to help. This is driving me absolutely up the wall. You fail to mention which Wacom Intuos and which Wacom drivers have installed. I do not have your problems on my Windows 7 Workstation or my Surface Pro 3 Windows 8.1 with the Intuos Pro with Wacom version 6.3.11w3 device driver. I have no problem using Shortcuts like undo and redo or using my intuos gestures for them here is my PS system info for my surface Pro 3

Photoshop CC 2014 for PC will not copy or paste
Running:
Photoshop CC 2014 for PC
Windows 8.1 Pro, R2 64 bit, AMD FX3 8350 with 16GB RAM. 75% of RAM free
Photoshop CC 2014 for PC will not copy or paste.
When I create a line of text and want to copy and paste the text in the same document, the copy and paste functions are not working. The commands on the Edit menu are grayed out. CTL+C and CTL+X and CTL+V do not work.
I have the correct layer selected.
There is nothing else selected, just the text.
Copy and paste fail on new documents, existing documents, documents with backgrounds, documents without backgrounds.
I deleted all my Photoshop settings in Roaming>Adobe>Photoshop CC 2014
I uninstalled Photoshop without saving preferences, removed all files and folders and then reinstalled.
Photoshop will still not copy and paste.I honestly don't know what may be wrong on your system to cause what you're seeing, but I can confirm that on my fully updated Windows 8.1 Pro x64 system equipped with ATI 7850 I can do cut/copy/pastes as you would like to do, so it's not a basic incompatibility.
Are you selecting the characters by dragging the mouse across them, then copying?
When pasting, have you set an insertion point first?

Edit in photoshop CC 2014 not available in Lightroom 5.7.1
I have both programs installed (Lightroom 5.7.1 and Photoshop CC 2014) but the option to edit in photoshop CC 2014 is grayed out when in Lightroom. Any help is greatly wanted.
Lightroom might not know where the original image is located on your system. In that case the Photo > Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 menu will be greyed out.
You can check this by looking at the image icons and folder icons in Library view.
When you look at the image in the Library, does it contain a small warning sign?
If yes, then click on this sign and locate the file on your system or network.
Something else to check is the folders that the images are in. If all the folders contain a small question mark on them, then Right-click the folder and choose Find Missing Folder.
Hope this helps,

Refining JS script to control a pop up window
After much frustration... I have a working popup window to display small images. The script thanks to WEB DESIGN GARAGE by Marc Campbell is simple enough, he has me paste this in the body:
<script language="JavaScript"> function doPopup(popupPath) { window.open(popupPath,'name', 'width=400,height=200,scrollbars=YES'); } </script>
And I call the popup window with:
<a href="javascript:doPopup('..//obituary1');">Obituary1</a>
that I insert in my text at the appropriate place. Adding more (renaming my file and text) as I need them.
But.. one of the issues evidently with popup windows is that they sink. Clicking on a second one puts them all behind the main window.. So.. Marc includes some code to prevent this. and he writes
To do this, add the onLoad event to the body tag of the popup window's HTML file:
<body onLoad="window.focus();">
Now where and how do I place this, in my head section... the body section... before or after my popup script... or append it to the link part... Everyplace I place it I get... a yellow highlight in DW implying this will not work.. (it doesn't) or if I stick it where I do not get a yellow alert it does not work either.. and has broken my popup script.
My testing site.. http://www.test.lsvs.ca/obituaries2.php
Thanks for any insight / help
RalphYour pop-up windows look fine to me, but the onLoad code goes in your body tag:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://127.0.0.1:37935/xpopup.js"></script></head>
<body onLoad="window.focus();">
<p>
<script language="JavaScript">
function doPopup(popupPath) {
window.open(popupPath,'name',
'width=960,height=625,scrollbars=no,location=no,status=no');
</script> -
Why JPEG - TIFF files in Bridge won´t open directly in Photoshop CC 2014?
Since a couple of weeks ago, whenever I click a jpeg or tiff file in Bridge (last reinstalled in 17/08/14) it won’t open directly in Photoshop CC 2014, but in Windows photo viewer. Am I doing something wrong or is it Bridge’s fault?
Thank you for your help. I tried this, but, at least in Windows OS if I do it, every time I'm within any window, a JPEG or TIFF file will open directly in Photoshop, not Windows Viewer. I contacted Adobe support and they sugested me to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop and Bridge. It took me some time, but the problem was solved. I suspect that my issue began the moment I uninstalled Photoshop CC, which was active at the same time with Photoshop CC 2014. So, if you have both, try to live with them or uninstall both apps and reinstall only CC 2014.

My own website looks strange in Firefox, but it is good in Safari, why?
The shadows behind my photos in my website (under the SHOP) looks strange. They are completely black with clear edges, but when I put my pictures so I have just added a little blurry shadows behind the images. This problem did not exist before, it's
