Photoshop CC Camera RAW and 32bit files problem
The new Camera RAW from Photoshop CC has problem with 32bit EXR,HDR files when camera calibration is set to 2012 mode. Very bright tones like specular highlights are flattened and there is no possibility to bring them back. Old modes (2010, 2003) are working fine.
Photoshop CC camera raw 8.5 where is the fill light and recovery buttons
Hi Teresa, you may have worked this out already? but i just downloaded Photoshop CC and I too used the recovery and fill light buttons and couldnt see them in the raw processing window... HOWEVER!! i did some research and they are available!! YAY, you can toggle between the latest and the older layout... and the recovery and fill optoins ARE there... the link explains it... but when you open some raw files... on the right you should see a little camera - camera calibration button when you click on there the first drop down PROCESS - change to 2012 mode and then click back to the BASIC processing wheel and they will be there... cheers Danni

Camera raw and DNG files appear as generic icons
Camera raw and DNG files appear as generic icons instead of image previews (Bridge CS5)
What can I do ?Hi Yammer.
First thanks a lot for taking your time to help me. I am really happy about it!
I will try to answer:
1)
I meant by having the Camera Raw.8bi placed in BOTH "C:\Programmer\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CS5\Plug-Ins" and in C:\Programmer\Fælles filer\Adobe Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats" the ACR will be found in two versions - or rather in two places (I know the former shouldn't be, but it solved my preview problem).
2)
YES - I do have tried twice starting the Adobe Bridge holding down the Ctrl-key and ticking the two (the third was greyed out but ticked anyway) and with no help.
3)
I have tried to do the *.8bi search you suggested, and this gives me the following dump - absolutely with a few more entries than yours. Some are like doubled.
Do you think I can just delete these?
Kind regards, Jan -
Photoshop CS3/Camera Raw and Nikon D5100
Hi,
I have Photoshop CS3 and a Nikon D5100 and I am unable to open my RAW files.
Any ideas?http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
The D5100 has been supported since Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 6.4 which is only compatible with CS5 and later. CS3 is too old.
Either
Join the Cloud, or
Join the Photoshop Photography Program, or
Buy Lightroom 5, open the Raw files, save to TIFF then edit the TIFFs in CS3, or
Keep CS3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter and convert all your D5100 Raw files to DNGs. Then edit the DNGs in CS3.

Camera raw and lightroom 4 problem
In Lightroom 4, How do I open camera raw when I select to edit in photoshop
Hi,
What version of photoshop are you using?
One way is to use Edit In>Open as Smart Object in Photoshop and then double click
on the smart object thumbnail in the layers panel to open the photo into camera raw. -
As I mentioned, there is an error while trying to update photoshop, camera raw, etc. I receives message when you try to download the update, an error occurred. Exit and try again later.
What to do? Without Camera Raw update I can't open Raw files from my cameras. Guy from chat on adobe website just give me link for support website, it's ridiculous.abdzi schrieb:
Hi,
Finally I made an update. I used download files from Adobe update pages (the same websites that were offline for few days), I couldn't do it automatically from PS CS5 application. Last problem is Adobe Extension update, can't do it automatically and manually becouse there are no update files for Adobe Extension CS5 for Windows (only for Mac). Most important is that my Camera Raw can open files from my cameras now. Thank You for your help.
Hey abdzi could you give a short explanation were you found which download files?? I have the same problem and realy need the Camera Raw update. Please!! Thank you -
I updated CS6 Camera Raw as it would not read my D7100 raw files. Since that I cannot open jpegs.
Also, I go to Photoshop - About Plug-In - Camera Raw and get a pop up window saying "Could not complete the Camera Raw command because the file was not found."I apologize, guess I wasn't very good in giving info. It is on a Mac running Snow Leopard. I did the CS6 updates through Help/Updates but that did not update to where my camera (Nikon D7100) raw files could be read. I searched around on Adobe's site for the Camera Raw update that took care of reading them, forget what page I finally found a download link on but the update was a singular installer for Camera Raw. Once updated Photoshop CS6 stopped being able to 'find files' even when the file is dragged onto the Photoshop icon, or through the menu's Open. I have since uninstalled everything reinstalled the suite from the original installer. I know have a Photoshop that will open jpegs but just not my camera's raw files. Thanks for any help that you think might take care of the problem. I am not going to update the Camera Raw unless I can find out what happened and what to do to prevent it. I switched my camera to take jpegs until if and when I solve the mystery. :-) Thanks!

I have processed my raw and jpeg files on my iPad using Snapseed . What format are they saved in on the iPad and how do I transfer them back to my pc where I use photoshop elements. Can I use just an ordinary flaws drive with the USB adaptor? Thanks any help would be appreciated.
LynneThe camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files form a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

Unable to open RAW files with Photoshop CS6 - Camera Raw
Hi all,
I'm trying to open .CR2 files from a Canon 450D on Photoshop CS6 as well as with Lightroom 4 but it doesn't work.
I've updated the Adobe Camera Raw to its latest edition (8.8), but anyway, when I try to open them it appears the message below: It basically says that photoshop is not able to open the file, make sure that you have installed the latest edition of Camera Raw and to visit the link for further info...
After looking for solutions on Internet, I've also tried to convert the RAW files into DNG, but Adobe DNG converter says that the folder does not contain any RAW file, though they are all .CR2 files...
I've tried several times in many ways... Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.Hi Benjamin,
You were right. It was the camera's provided software transfer system. I've copied them directly from the (same) card to the desktop and works.
Many many thanks! Cheers -
Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), Jpeg Files and Metadata
I have been using Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) with my Canon EOS 30D, an 8 MP camera, for a while now. I would make non-destructive changes to the raw file (.CR2) in ACR where the changes would be stored in an adjoining .xmp file. Jpegs of the unedited and edited camera raw files would be created so I have a before and after versions of the images that can be viewed anywhere.
Now I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, a 22 MP camera and the raw files are much larger. I’m looking at using camera raw on jpeg files for some for my more casual photo shoots in order to save disk space. From what I have read, I can use ACR on jpeg files and that the changes would be stored in the metadata in the jpeg file. Is there a way for the changes to be stored in an adjoining .xmp file so that the original jpeg file is not modified, much like it is done with the .CR2 files?
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 machine. All software is up-to-date.
Also, I have found that Adobe’s camera raw handing is different than the raw handling of the photos using Canon’s software (DPP). Is there a way to make ACR closer to what Canon’s software does?
Thanks,
MikeProbably not going to happen.
I agree, Canon's color is better than Adobe's in general - I just didn't know how good the Camera Standard profile might be for your particular camera. I had hoped maybe they'd made it a very close match.
Some time ago I got a very nice genius-level Camera Raw forum member named Vit to make me a custom profile that exactly matches the Canon color for my 40D, even to the point of emulating the way Canon fits the entire gamut of the captured image into the sRGB color space, so I'm more than happy.
Others might tell you that you're silly for wanting the color to match, but I understand completely your position - if you do get that kind of feedback just ignore it and push on.
Once you've set up a default to use Camera Standard, you may well be able to tweak the dozens of color controls to bring the Adobe default into line with the Canon color. I did that once before getting my special 40D profile, comparing embedded raw file JPEGs with the Camera Raw preview display with a variety of images - it was tedious but effective.
Best of luck.

Camera Raw and Photoshop fluctuations
When I open a JPG from Camera Raw and view it in Photoshop I'm noticing that the Photoshop version, viewed at 100%, is slightly darker, viewed side-by-side, than the preview in Camera Raw, also at 100%. Both in the same color space (sRGB).
Interestingly, when I changed the color settings in Photoshop to Adobe RGB and then reprocessed the photo in Camera Raw as an Adobe RGB file and then opened it in Photoshop, the side-by-side comparison shows the Photoshop version as slightly lighter, not darker, than the version shown in the preview window in Camera Raw. Both also at 100%.
Any thoughts on the subject would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Tom

Both Camera Raw and Photoshop are using your display profile to make the image preview. If the two don't match (everything matches on my displays) I suspect your display profile is less than optimal. -

When will Camera Raw and Photoshop support Nikon 610 cameras
When will Camera Raw and Photoshop support Nikon 610 cameras
Hi,
What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
Photoshop cs6 and photoshop cc should open those files.
You might just need to go to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6/cc to get an updated camera raw plugin
Camera raw 8.3 or 8.4, depending on your operating system. -

I edited a .nef file in Camera Raw and PSE 11 saved it as a .xmp file. I cannot open it now.
I am not sure if this is an issue but Windows does not recognize the .xmp file and give it an icon with the photo's picture. On a related note, when I edited some .nef files and Windows saved it as .dng file, it too, like the .xmp file, Windows does not recognize the .dng file and give it an icon with the photo's picture.
Do I need to download something to create this icon?PSE didn't save your file as an .xmp file. The .xmp file is not the image--that's still the .nef. The xmp file is what adobe calls a 'sidecar' file, just a record of the settings you used in the raw converter. As long as it's in the same place as the image, when you open the nef in ACR again, it will open where you left off, with the settings you chose.
If you want to save as, you have two choices:
1. Click the Open button in the raw converter window and save in the image format of your choice.
2. Use the Save button in the raw converter to create a separate DNG file, which still must be opened in the raw converter and converted to an image format for use in other programs. -
