Try turning off GPU support in your Photoshop's preferences performance section. Also check that you have installed the latest device driver installed for your GT 970 adapter and that all CS6 updates are installed... Your CS6 should be version 13.0.1.3....

That is not how the autosave feature works. Autosave helps in situations where program crashes/freezes or power goes out (basically, in situations where user have no control over the system). Closing the file without saving is not considered as unexpected interruption; it is intentional for most of the users.
When you close, save manually, or revert to the last-saved version of a file, the autosave file is deleted. Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Saving PDFs

Logic crashes when using the "Close Project without Saving" key command

The "Close Project without Saving" key command does not work in LP8. When I try to use it, Logic crashes. This is reproducible on my system. Can anyone try and confirm this?

For me this shortcut is quite important on stage when I have to switch songs as fast as possible. It also is foolproof because on stage I never want to save with all the controller changes I did during a performance.
Just hit the key command, load the next song, done.

Does " Close Project without Saving " key assignment work at all ?

I'm using Logic Express 8. I'd really like to be able to close a project without seeing the " do I want to save the project " box.
There is a function to do that in the Keypress Commands, but it seems broken. I've tried assigning several different keypress combinations to that function and all they do is crash Logic when I try to use them.
So, am I doing something wrong, missing something, or is that command broken ?

Oh, and then fill out the cute - report this to Apple- thing when it pops up after the crash so someone will fix this and I can move on

No. The attached is the simplest way of modifying it to do as you want. I've

You already are. You're making the arrays as you go along so only the memory
needed for the data that's in the plot is in use at any one time. To do it
without storing
arrays at all you'd need to keep retrieving the data from
the XYgraph, adding the new datapoint and writing it back. Messy and I
suspect incredibly inefficient.
You're going to use the memory in any case- a better option would be to
pre-initialise an array and fill it slowly. At the end of each 24 hour block
zap all the data and start again without destroying and recreating the
arrays. Or if you're only doing the 24 hour wipes to save memory, simply
start again at the start of the buffer woithout erasing the previous data
and you always have 24 hours of data to liik at once the system's running.

In many new cases, Save As is now called Duplicate in ML. It uses the same command-S keystroke. Older apps still have Save As. When you do a Duplicate operation, you will create an UNTITLED document. You have to save that duplicated document to complete the process.
So in 10.6.x, you would do ...
* Save As ...
* Give the file a new name + Chose the location for the file
* Click the Save button
Now in 10.8.x, you do ...
* Duplicate ...
* Save ...
* Give the file a name + Chose the location for the file
* Click the Save button
As baltwo mentioned, you have to search the Preferences of your browser to determine what is has set for the default Download folder.

I open pdf's in an application (no add ons for acrobat exist), and want to combine them without having to use time on saving them before merging them into one single document.
Is it possible to do this without having the files saved onto your computer? I use acrobat x pro.

I dont think you understand my question. Of course Adobe reader cant combine pdf's, if it could I would not have had to purchase Adobe acrobat.
The problem I am trying to solve is how to combine pdf files when they are not opened/saved locally on my computer.

I am a truck driver and i need only certain calls during the day and if i could delete only the ones that arent needed for the day and keep the others that would make the day run smoother. I think you would have to reinstall the keys seeing that if you format the computer all the data is gone. Even though you backed up that data you never know what can happen when you try to reinstall certain apps. Not sure what method you can go by, you should run a diagnostics test to see how you computer is doing internally.

Photoshop CC 2014, MAC OSX, I have no option to close a modified file without saving it - i.e. no "don't save".

I have an odd issue where when I open a file and make changes to it, I can't close the file by clicking the 'x' button, can't select "file close", can't "command W" or even quit or force quit photoshop until I have saved the file. It's very frustrating as I have had to make a "PSD TRASH" folder on my desktop specifically for saving random working files, which I clear out at the end of the day.
Has anyone else had this issue? I have compared my preferences to colleagues without this issue and they are set the same. I have also re-installed Photoshop CC 2014 on my machine with no success.
Any advice would be appreciated!

What happens when you select File > Close exactly?

Conversion from CS3 to CS4 - closing files without saving

One more issue...
I'm making temporary changes to a book and a document so I want to close the documents without saving. This is what I'm currently using.
myBook.close(SaveOptions.NO);
myDocument.close(SaveOptions.NO);
What seems to be happening is that the file is saved anyway. No Save As window opens. I've looked in the Object Model and it looks like CS4 uses the same syntax as for CS3. Any suggestions?

It looks like you're trying to add an existing CS3 document to a new CS4 book. InDesign wants to save the CS3 document in CS4 and so gives you the Save As dialog. You can either go through all the existing CS3 documents you'll be adding and save them out from CS4, or add a few lines to the script that will do it. (Change the variable name I used if it's used somewhere else in your script.)
