Photoshop cc - can't save after edits

Simply cannot save an image, after editing.

Ok, I think the key here is save as vs. save. What I am thinking is the original file is set to read only. Meaning you can not save over top of that file, but you can use save as and create a new file.
In windows explorer locate the file you are opening, then right click on it and see if read only is enabled.

  • Can't Save After Editing Waveform From Multitrack FCP Export

I've exported a multitrack project to Soundtrack Pro from a sequence in Final Cut Pro. I chose destructive editing, which may have been a mistake. I've made extensive changes to the audio, in particular lots of noise reduction.
Now when I try to save certain of the clips it shows it saving and then it gives me the not-too-descriptive message "The document "(filename)" could not be saved."
I can save the project, no problem, but when I try to quit Soundtrack Pro, it tells me I have 4 Soundtrack Pro documents with unsaved changes.
I've done "Save as" and "Save a copy as" on the clip and it will save it, but after the save, Sountrack Pro is still referencing the old file (which is also the file that shows up in the bin.)
What am I doing wrong? Also, is there a way to tell SP that I've done a "save as" or "save copy as" and want that to be the audio referenced in the project? I'm leaving it running in hopes of finding a solution and not losing my changes. Help!
    Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   4 x 500 GB, 4 GB RAM, 2 x 30" Displays

I made some progress on this. After doing a "save as" or "save a copy as" on the audio you're editing, you can go to the bin and control-click on the file you can't save to, pick "select all occurrences" and then control-click on the newly saved file and pick "replace selected clips."
Also I don't know if this is helpful, but /var/log/system.log had a number of failures around the time I was trying to save:
    Aug 27 19:24:08 PowerStation kernel[0]: (76: coreservicesd)tfp: failed on 0:
I used disk utility to compare my second, third and fourth drives with my system drive and noticed that journalling wasn't enabled on the non-system drives. I enabled them. I super doubt that made any difference other than on disk performance.

Can't save an edited PDF to the same folder it originated from. Error "cannot save the document is read-only or is open by someone else" and then it prompts to save the document to another folder or change the name of the document.  This is not what I want to do! Using WIndows 7

    Hi JC_AUS,
Thank You for posting on the forums. This can happen if the preview of the document is opened in preview pane in Windows Explorer.
Kindly switch off the preview pane and then try the same.

  • How can I save an edited converted file?

How can I save an edited converted (from PDF) file?

    Hi alisonr1825446,
When you convert a PDF file to Word/Excel, it's automatically saved to your Acrobat.com online account. From there, you can download it to your desktop to edit it, and then save it. To download your file, log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. Select the file, and then click the Download link at the top of the file list. Your file will be downloaded to the Downloads folder on your computer.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Is Photoshop CS6 can't save a file more than 2gegabites?

Is Photoshop CS6 can't save a file more than 2gegabites?

It depends on the file format, many formats are limited to 2 or 4 Gigabytes.
PSB (Large Document Format) is not so limited.

  • Photoshop CS6 can't save to server after upgrading to Mac OS Yosemite Server from Mac Lion Server

We recently upgraded our server from a Mac Pro 2008 with OS X Lion Server to a Mac Mini 2014 with LaCie 20TB 5Big Thunderbolt 2 RAID drive. Everything is working fine with the exception of Photoshop. It does it intermittently but once it happens it will continue to do so. We get message like "Can't save to disk because of disk error" and "Can't save file because of program error" . Sometime we are able to do a "save as" and save over it. Most of the time we have to "save as" with a different file name and then rename and recopy the file. We have check permission on all the file as well as the server HD has ignore ownership checked. Again only three things changed. 1) Sever hardware change from Mac Pro to Mac Mini. 2) Server software upgraded from 10.7 Lion to 10.10 Yosemite(both have the latest update). 3) Drive when from internal on Mac Pro to External Thunderbolt 2 LaCie drive. We have no problem with Illustrator or Indesign. Only Photoshop. Anyone with any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you seem to be using Photoshop in a way that Adobe discourages, so you may not be getting a lot of helpful advice.

  • Photoshop CS6 - Can't save anything

So I can save PSD fine, and I can save as TIF, but TIF is huge. I tried to save as GIF, PNG, and JPEG, but none worked. It gives me the little yellow exclamation mark and says I can only save as a copy. I have RGB color mode on, and it is in 8 bit.

What version of photoshop are you using?
Since layers cannot be saved in the gif, png,and jpeg file formats, the little yellow exclamation point only means photoshop will save a flattened version of your file, hence the word Copy.
(the file should look the same after saving and the original will still be open in photoshop)
If you need to save the file exactly as is in photoshop for later editing, then psd or tiff are the best file formats.

All editions of SQL Server 2005 SP3 and SQL Server 2008 SP1 are supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 or
    later.
For SQL Server 2005, you need to be on SP3 to be compatible on Windows 7 or 8
    you'll
need SQL install media that already has SP3 installed, i know its a bit annoying...
you can refer the below link

    if
service installed  and to run the SQL Server 2005 on Windows 7, you need to install the last service pack for SQL Server 2005.

  • Pics won't save after editing

I do some editing and then cannot close or save as, PSE 10 just does nothing?  I have to do a Control Alt Delete to even close the program out as well. Help

    Hi,
Did you solve your save problem? I am having the exact problem suddenly. Never happened before and now can't solve it. Did a repair permissions after upgrade to iphoto 06; but can't save anything to desktop after bringing any photo from iphoto to photoshop. The same error is coming up
"Could not complete your request because of a program error"
Folks at Photoshop said it is definately an iphoto permissions problem, not photoshop.
If you figured it out, I'd sure appreciate your solution.

  • Photo taken with Iphone cannot be save after editing

After editing the photo taken from my Iphone 4S on my computer, I can't save it. Error given is "This photo can't be saved because of a problem with photo's file format". Have anyone encounter the same problem and found a solution to it?

Try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the "Slide to Unlock" screen will display. Try a photo again to see if it is working.
    Cheers,

  • Unable to Save After Editing

Ok, so I am using Adobe Acrobat X Standard on a Windows 8 operating system and I am having the slight problem that I am unable to save a document after editing it. If I change the colour of text in a pdf and then attempt to save it, Acrobat stops responding and will not save. I have been getting around this by shutting Adobe down using task manager, recovering the document, and then saving the recovered document; amazingly, this works fine! However, the last time I tried this, Adobe failed to recover the document, so this is not a viable solution. I have searched extensively online and have not found a solution to this problem. I have attempted unchecking enhanced security, but this has not worked. I am starting to understand that Adobe support is of a very poor quality, but perhaps some other Adobe user can help me. If there are Adobe employed moderators on this site, please look at this issue: being unable to save an edited document renders Adobe Acrobat completely useless for the purposes of my organization and, after all, we paid for this program. If this problem cannot be solved I will encourage my own organization and anyone with whom I confer on the subject to try other software, as Adobe is clearly inadequate.

What exact version of Acrobat do you have?
Does it work if you try to save the file under a new name?

  • Can´t unstack after edit in PS

    Hi.
After editing a photo in PS, I hit the save, and a new copy is stacked next to the original in LR. So fare so good.  But I can´t unstack/expand etc the stack so I can view the edited photo. The only way to see it, is to close the LR program, and start it again, now I can see the new photo next to the original ?  What settings do I need to change to be able to see that edited photo right away, next to the original ?
    Thanks for any help.

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, reinstall.

  • Has anyone updated Photoshop and can't save files.

I just updated photoshop CC and now I can't save changes to my files.

No, but before anyone can help you, you'll need to tell us what version of Photoshop you are using, and what your new update status is. Plus we need to know what your operating system is.
    [edit]
Whoops.  Just noticed that you mention CC, so I guess you are talking about 14.1.  So what is your OS?

  • How can I save an edited movie scene to my computer?

I have Premiere Elements 11. I have the original, full movie clip but I'd like to save an edited section so I can work on it in a different Elements file. I believe to transfer to a different file I need to first save it to my computer. How can I do that?
    Thanks!

    herewego9
I would archive the project with the Premiere Elements 11 workspace's File Menu/Project Archiver using the Copy option (choice is Archive or Copy). In this way you are creating a folder with your project.prel assets which include copies of the media that went into that project.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS09e4b3c48f3a79fc19b622510385d4355c-7d cb.html
Typically that is done for the whole project. The urgent matter is keeping the media that went into the project.prel connected to it, lest you end up with the nasty missing media situation.
You can selective export a portion of the Timeline to a file saved to the computer hard drive by using the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar to span just that segment and making sure that the export settings include "Share Work Area Bar Only".
Another thought might be to make a copy of your project.prel which includes only the edited section, then use the Project Archiver on that.
Please review and see if any of that works for you.
More details to follow if necessary.
    Thanks.

  • CS5 Unknown Error, Can't Save After Drawing/Copying Vector Linework

I've found some other versions of this problem on the forum that seemed more straightforward, but this ones a bit stranger.
I have a fairly large file with 8 artboards (no memory problem), and a variety of images and vectors.  It was saving fine as an .AI file until I started getting the "Unknown Error" message.  Tested it out and it appears that I can save if I introduce any amount of more images/text, but the moment I try to save after drawing another line/copy-pasting an existing line/shape, the unknown error occurs.
Tested the file on another computer and it had the exact same issue so it's definitely a file-specific issue and not a problem with my Illustrator.  Also copied parts of the content to new files and the exact same error occurs.  It does not occur in other files.  Also, I'll need to keep PDF Compatibility checked when saving.
I'd appreciate any help on the subject.

    constanzaman,
You may try pasting parts of the artwork cautiously, to see which part(s) may be causing the issue.
Here is a general set of instructions, going all the way:
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).
Here are some websites where you can see whether it can rescue the file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,

    http://markzware.com/adobe-software/fix-illustrator-file-unknown-error-occurred-pdf2dtp-fi le-recovery/
    http://www.illustrator.fixtoolbox.com/
As far as I remember, the first one is for Win and the one is for Mac, while the third one should be for both.
Here are a few pages about struggling with it yourself:
