Photoshop CC: DynamicLink Media Server is not aviable

It may have to do with the update to 14.1.1 but suddenly when I try to open a video file the above warning appears. Anyone else with this problem or maybe someone with a solution?
(In PS CS5 everything just works fine)
Windows 7 64bit
B.T.W., is there a way to repair a CC application installation?

(Strange to reply to my own message but there is no "Edit" button)
For what it is worth: I restored my Windows to a previous state and everything worked fine again.
Off course CC wanted to update my PS and Bridge and I let it do so. Now everything still works fine but the PS "About" screen states that I have version 14.1.
Guess the only thing I can do is wait for 14.1.2 or so...

Indicas que no puedes abrir ningun archivo de video, se supone que has probado varios formatos, mp4, mov,..
Has actualizado el OSX a 10.9 ?, funcionaba antes? La versión de Photoshop es la CC, no la CC 2014?
En el menú de Ayuda>Actualizaciones, cual es el resultado, dice que esta al día?
    Tienes abiertas otras aplicaciones?
Prueba a cerrar todo, espera media minuto y abre Photoshop a ver que ocurre.

Photoshop 2014 (fresh install) cant open a video because: …. the dynamiclink media server is not avalable – any idea how to fix this on os x 10.5.8 ?

    i found the error!
little snitch on os x blocks something (i dont know what exact) of adobe in the background. i have no rule defined for adobe in little snitch, so everything of adobe can go out.
when i stop little snitch, everything works fine - photoshop opens videos without the medialink error, photoshop starts up in seconds and premiere starts without a quicktime error.
i report the problem also to objective developement to fix this!

Can no longer load video files into CS6 for edited I keep getting error message:
'Could not complete your request because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available.'
Don't know what this means. Until just now I was able to load videos without any problems. Now I'm getting this message. Any thoughts?

    Hi Mylenium,
    upfront:
I hope I won't be marked as spam now, since I am posting on a few relevant discussions now to this topic.
However, I really would like to ask the people who have experienced this problem to see if they were able to solve it.
    Now the real deal:
I posted a question in this discussionDynamicLink Media Server won't let me import video for video frames to layers anymore.
The linked discussion is a lot younger, which is why I posted there first.
I also put in information on the steps that I have tried and my computer specifications.
I am experiencing this problem for a while now and hope you and jones1351may be able to help out.

  • DynamicLink Media Server won't let me import video for video frames to layers anymore.

I am trying to load a video into photoshop cc (trial) via File > Import > Video Frames to Layers. It has worked in the past, but for some reason has seemed to have stopped working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, and I've shut down my computer and rebooted it multiple times. I have also looked into the other questions listing "dynamiclink media server" as a problem and have tried to figure out what is wrong, or how to fix it. I have not been able to understand what I should do, so I was hoping someone would know how to help me.
I have a macbook pro, which is about 2 years old. That's all they've told me to list, so thank you if you're able to help!!!

Were you able to solve this problem?
I am experiencing the same on
    Computer Environment:
    MacBook Pro Early 2011
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB
    Memory  16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
SSD with 512GB; about 81GB are still free
    Software:
    Mavericks  OS X 10.9.5
    Adobe Mastercollection CS6 Extended, 64bit.
Including the Dynamic Link Media Server Update 1.0.1 are all individual apps up to date as of today, March 9 2015.
    Quicktime Player (v.10.3)
I am also following this discussion Re: trying to import video"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
but non of the solutions under the post #4, #17 either did not work or applied to me, because they were suggested for a Windows user.
    Other notes:
Bridge is not working at all. It launches, but crashes as soon as you see the workspace.
Hence, Mini Bridge in Photoshop is also crashing.
I do have all codecs for the videos, that I was trying to open, though.
It cannot be an issue, that I have not enough RAM.
After several other problems with After Effects, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, which remain partly unsolved, this post starts form a fresh installation of the whole Adobe Suite. Even used the Cloud Cleaner Tool beforehand and made sure, all presets are from this CS6 version only.

  • WRT350N Media Server does not serve music up to a Directv HR20

I have a Directv HR20.  This device is a UPnP device that is capable of playing Music/Picutres on the TV/Stero system using a media server software.  The intention of my purchase of the WRT350N router was to install a 500GB USB drive onto the router and use the media server software to supply music and photos onto the Dirctv HR20 DVR.  This has not been an easy task.  I can see the pictures and play the pictures without an issue.  I contacted Linksys support via the Live chat and spoke with them explaining how the media server is suppose to supply the music as well and the Directv HR20 is ecpecting a LPCM trascoder to work.  They assured me that they would pass this information up to the development team.  This was almost a month ago and I have not heard back from them yet.  I downloaded the beta version of the firmware and tried it, but it to did not work.  Other media server software does in fact work like Nero 7 media server and Twonky media server software.  I currently use the Nero 7 media server software on my PC to serve music and photos to the Dirctv HR20.
The Directv HR20 uses a WET54g currently to connect to the home network.  I will need to update this to a "n" type of connection when a game adapter or bridge device is avliable for "n".
So now here I sit with an expensive USB drive and I cannot use it for the music side of the media server portion of the WRT350N.
    Any help would be appreciated!
Message Edited by Spanky_Partain on 07-24-2007 07:35 AM

It is really hard to believe that Linksys is not interested in fixing this issue.  The Directv equipment that is DLNA compliant to Doc 1.0 and the Samsung LN52A860 which is also DLNA compliant will NOT see the media server and take advantage of the USB storage device that has Music and Photos stored on them.
Come on Linksys by Cisco, get your firmware compliant to the standards the industry is following and STOP tyring to write your own!

  • EA6500 DLNA media server MP3 not shown

    Hi!
I have recently bought Linksys EA6500 router and attached a USB drive with some media (4000+ MP3 files, 7000+ photos, and 1000+videos). Everything works smoothly, even from Nexus 4 on wireless, but none of the MP3 files are showing up! Are there any known limitations in Twonky server (which this device apparently uses) in terms of naming files, subdirectory structure, anything? I tried rescanning the drive, although didn't try rebuilding database...
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
Yes. There's a known limitation with Twonky Media Server that's built-in with your router: "maxfile-8000" - the license with Twonky limits the # of files to be scanned to 8000. This issue had been raised before and some acceptable reason is the "amount of cpu and ram need to deal with the db in memory" - of course, these routers have way much lower hardware specs, even compared to a smartphone running on Android 2.3.6 OS.
Here's the thread that was raised before:

  • DynamicLink Media Server not available?

This is the message that pops up after I try to import video frames to layers. I've looked everywhere for some sort of solution to this problem. I've tried closing the program, waiting for about a minute and re-opening it multiple times, I've tried restarting my computer, I've tried disabling my firewall, I've tried using Bridge, and I've tried just about every other option that has been given to others who have reported this same issue. None of it has worked for me. I would really, really appreciate it if someone could give me a clear answer as to what I could possibly do to fix this problem that I haven't already tried. Thank you.

Here is a reply from a previous post.  Seems like restarting worked.

    Report
So we've been looking into it and have a few suggestions.
Would you please try the following and report back. Thank you!
    - Of course a restart of Photoshop, preferably with clean preferences is a good place to start.
    - Try to open the movie file in Photoshop with the Open command. If dynamic link manager isn’t working, Photoshop should show the same error manager.
    - Try browsing and playing the file in Bridge. Does that work?
    - Make sure any parental control applications, such as Net Nanny, have not blocked access to Photoshop's dynamiclinkmanager.exe and dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe files. Add Photoshop as an exception to any such application that you have running.
- There are some frameworks / libraries Photoshop includes for communicating with DLM. If any of those are missing, that will show this error message. A reinstall would be necessary.

  • Dynamic Link Media Server Photoshop Cs6

Hi, i have a problem with this patch. When a I try to click on File/Import/Video Frames To Layers there's an error "DynamicLink Media Server is not aviable". I try to wait 30 second and restart the program and my pc, but there have been no changes.
I also updated the patch downloaded from the website version 1.01
I saw that others have had this problem, but I have not figured out how they did to solve it. I'm Italian and I understand little about your language so... could you explain it more clearly?
    Thank you

  • E3000 Media Server not seen by Windows Media Player (v 12.0) on Win 7

I've enabled the Media Server on my E3000 router.  My PS3 can see the server and play media from it by my PCs can't!
I'm using Windows Media Player v 12.0 on Windows 7 and some older version on Windows XP and it's my understanding that the Media Server should appear under the "Other Libraries" section but it does not.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the E3000 firmware (I have the latest as of this date) or is the Media Server simply not compatible with Windows Media Player?
If it's an incompatibility issue, can someone please point me to a compatible media player for Windows 7?
I did read a post about a firmware upgrade on the 4200 that broke the media player, but I don't know if such a problem exists for the E3000.
    Thank you,
    Martin.

This is what you can try in getting the Computer to see the media server on the E3000:
(Obviously make sure you have the media server enabled on the router and at least one folder shared....and make sure you have scanned the folder(s))
    1) Turn your computer on.
    2) Disconnect your external usb drive.
    3) Pull the power on the E3000.
    4) Connect the external usb drive.
    5) Plug the power back into the E3000.
Then see if that works or not.

  • Using ATV as a Media Server to Stream From?

Is it possible to use the ATV to stream music from, to say an Airport Express. I am exploring the concept of using the ATV as a media server for a whole hose audio system. I realize I can use it as a simple analog source to the whole house distribution reciever, but the more elegant solution would be to be able to fully integrate it in to the system, much like some of the whole house audio manufacturers do with iPod and iTunes. Anyone heard of doing anything like this?

Thanks for the feedback, folks. Been quite helpful. Using the ATV as my media hub is definitely an option that may work. I like the idea of using it instead of a computer which has to be left on all the time. I would still need a wall-keypad in each room to control the multi-zone amp (volume, source, etc) and then also use an iPod Touch w/ Remote app on it to control the ATV when ATV is the selected source. Not a perfect solution, but very, very good. And, substantially less cost than a media server from the whole-house audio manufacturer, especially since I already own the ATV!
That said, if there was a hack intot he ATV, that would be cool. I know it has a USB port on the back for "servicing and upgrade" use - whatever that means. I suspect that with the right hack, that port could be used to integrate in the control side of these whole-house audio systems. For example, one of the manufacturers makes an interface device that connects to a Mac computer via USB, and taps into iTunes making the Mac the media server and allowing their touchpad to control iTunes from anywhere in the house. This would be the ultimate solution for me if I wanted to buy another Mac computer. I was just hopeing to use the ATV instead. Again, even a Mac mini is way less money that their media server, so not a bad solution too.
    Agaion, that's for the input!
