Photoshop CC images

Hi all,
After being away i have return to eagerly install Photoshop CC. However to disappointment.
After installing all seemed fine. Then I opened my 1st image...
...the image looked terrible on the screen, as if it had been posterize. I tried another image and this was the same.
I closed Photoshop CC and re-opened. still the same. I tried both the 32 and 64 bit version, still the same.
I opened an image and changed it to 32 bit mode... success. image now looks fine. I changed it back to 8-bit mode, photoshop CC want to apply HDR toning...why?
I am very dissapointed that i can't open an image. After searching forums etc. i find that many people are having various problems.  I don't know what other problems i may have as not being able to open an image has led me to go back to CS6.
I can't believe that there are so many bugs in CC that its acutally been released????
Does any one know of a fix for the image problem.
I have updated my graphics drivers, but still the same.
I'm using windows 7 (64 bit)
32gb RAM
ATI Radeon 7990
any help would be most welcome.

Some people have had video card driver problems after installing CC.  Make abosulutely sure you are using the latest driver.  If the system is something like dell, HP etc. go to the AMD site rather than the system provider.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Image Processor not converting files to sRGB Profile

I have been experiencing a problem with Photoshop CS3 Image Processor no longer converting profiles to sRGB.   It converts all of the files from Camera Raw to JPEG, but not sRGB as well.  I used to be able to batch convert an entire folder of RAW images to JPEG, sRGB through the Image Processor.
My Photoshop CS3 Working Space is Adobe RGB (1998).  I need to convert an entire folder of images selected in Bridge to sRGB working space in order to publish a photo album from one of the on-line publishing companies.  I can open each individual Camera Raw file in Photoshop and convert each to JPEG, sRGB, but this takes a tremendous amount of time.
The following procedure has worked for me in the past, but for some reason no longer works:
I select the images in the desired Bridge CS3 folder.  Upper tool bar, "Tools" > "Photoshop" > "Image Processor".  In Image Processor:
Section 1 - ""Process files from Bridge only (11)"  Whether or not I place a checkmark by "Open first image to apply settings", it makes no difference in the outcome.
Section 2:  "Save in same location"
Section 3 - "Checkmark by "Save as JPEG, quality 12".  Also a checkmark by "Convert Profile to sRGB"
Section 4 - Checkmark by "Include ICC Profile"
I replaced my iMac one month ago and reinstalled Photoshop CS3, but this Image Processor problem had been occurring even with my old computer.
Not sure if you need this information:
I'm currently on Mac OS X Version 10.6.4
Processor:  2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7
    Memory:  8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
I don't know if it's related,  Photoshop CS3 on my old computer was running in Rosetta.  I don't know if it's running in Rosetta now, the name does not appear when Photoshop boots up.  How do I get it to run in Rosetta again?

Heh heh heh.  It's always true that we find the answer just after making public our problems, which in turn we did after trying to find the problems ourselves for hours.
Thanks for following up with the answer.

  • Red vertical banding lines in Photoshop CC images - suspect is latest Nvidia drivers

Anyone getting this in their images when viewing at 25% or under? The problem goes away if I uncheck Use Graphics Processor and then restart Photoshop CC, so my latest suspect in this mystery is the latest update by Nvidia, their 335.23 drivers. Has anyone had this issue and successfully got it to stop by reverting back to an older Nvidia driver set?
I'm running Photoshop CC 64-bit, latest version, on Windows 8.1, latest updates applied. I just built the PC 3 months ago, has i7 4930K, 32GB ram, dedicated separate SSDs for C drive and Adobe Scratch Disk, and yes, I did uninstall and reinstall PS CC and selected "Remove Pref Files". I'm fairly sure it's the latest Nvidia driver that's causing the issue. Oh, graphics card is EVGA GTX 770, this model.
I'll paste in the long hairy list of info from Photoshop, but there won't be any more of my wording below it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have three onboard raid0 all attached directly to a Gigabyte X79-UD5 using Intel Enterprise driver.  The boot driver I mention is a new thing, which I added after a major system crash left me needing a clean reinstall.
When I first built the system it had no raid0 at all - just a single 'Raptor I had hoped to use for the Project drive, but PremPro wouldn't play nicely with that, so I had to add another and raid0 them.  I could scrub the timline smoothly after that with as many tracks on the timeline as I needed, (all 1080 H.264)  I lost one of those Velociraptors, so replaced with a pair of 6th gen 1Tb V'raptors in raid0.  They give me 350Mbs continuous, but their 4k speed is still not special.
I also have a pair of WD1Tb Blacks in a raid0 for Exports, my docs, and I used to keep cache, and other large files on that drive before I upgraded the boot drive.
Altogether I have 18Tb because of the need to back up the video, which is done with USB3 externals.  I recently added a Seagate 4Tb USB3 external (to help organise files while reinstalling everything) and that is showing 185Mb/s sequentual, which is much faster than my single drive internals!  I guess they just keep making things better.

  • LR 3.6 Export to Photoshop CS5 - Images have massive problems.

    Windows 7 x64
    Lightroom 3.6
    Photoshop CS5
When I use the Export to Photoshop feature (or if I export to PSD or export to TIFF and then open in Photoshop), the images look like this:
When the original in Lighroom looks like this:
If I zoom in to 100% the weird artifacting/tearing goes away, but if I zoom out any more than 66%, it gets these weird malformations on the image. I cannot figure out why. It's not the image size since I've worked with 100+ meg PSD files in Photoshop before without this issue. If I export to JPG from LR and then open in Photoshop, it's fine. It just happens with TIFF or PSD. Driving me nuts.
    Anybody have any idea why?
    Thank you all so much.
    Patrick

That's a typical video card driver problem affecting Photoshop. Update the driver from the manufacturer's site (NVidia or ATI).

  • Photoshop edited image not appearing back in Aperture!!

I'm a Lightroom user but thought I'd try out Aperture 3 for a new project to see if I prefer it.
I scanned in an old family photo album and imported them into Aperture. Some of the photos got torn as I removed them from the pages (they were glued!!) so I thought I'd repair them in Photoshop and also try to remove the paper texture that also got 'scanned' for some of the photos.
When I choose the option "Edit with Adobe Photoshop CS4", I can see a TIFF copy is created and it appears alongside the original image in the viewer. I can also see the physical file in Finder.
However, after I finish editing the image in Photoshop, and save and close it, switch back to Aperture, the TIFF image just disappears from the viewer.
I checked to see if a stack is created, but there isn't one. The physical file still exists in Finder though.
I tried manually importing the edited TIFF image back into the project, but it still doesn't appear!!!
The Aperture library file has increased though, so it seems like something has happened but I just can't seem to access my Photoshop edited image in Aperture.
I have tried this a few times, with different photos, but get the same results.
The other option I tried was regenerating thumbnails for the project but still nothing happens.
Anyone have any suggestions, what's going on??

How did you fix this? I'm having a similar problem!

  • Can I use Photoshop Elements images to illustrate a book I plan to sell?

If I were to use Photoshop Elements images, background designs etc and cut and paste, copy and use in collages to illustrate a book I plan to sell, am I breaking copyright laws?

Yes, you can do this. Adobe is concerned about people who reverse engineer the programs, not about people who use them as intended. Of course, for any additional styles, shapes, etc, it would depend on the developer's license terms. But there is no restriction on using PSE to create things to sell, no more than on PS.

  • "Adobe Photoshop Clip Image is Too Big To Be Exported" - Registry fix does nothing.

    Hello folks.
I cannot paste any images out of Photoshop that are over 1200x900 pixels in size. I get the error message "Adobe Photoshop Clip Image is Too Big To Be Exported."
I've tried the registry fix available on this forum, and nothing happens. I double click the file - ClipboardSizeLimit_OFF.reg - and get a message saying the data has been added to the registry. Then I copy and attempt to paste into, say, Paint or JASC Animation Shop and just get the "Adobe Photoshop Clip Image is Too Big To Be Exported" message again.
What's going on?? Is the registry fix actually doing anything at all?
    Paul.

I had been having this clipboard problem for a long time before I finally found this forum post, which clued me that there is a registry setting available to fix the problem. I found and downloaded a ClipboardSizeLimit_OFF.reg file and realized that just clicking on it would not solve my problem, because the file I downloaded was specific to a different version of Photoshop than the version that I am using. The file I downloaded adds the DWORD value MaxClipSize = 0 under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0. Well, since I'm using version 6.0, I needed to add the value under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\6.0. Bingo! I did not even need to restart Photoshop. The clipboard export of large images now works. You need to find the appropriate key in your registry and add the value manually, or change the .reg file to refer to the appropriate key for your version of Photoshop.

  • Strange Aperture, Photoshop, D300 image problem

    Hi all,
I posted this the other day, but had no responses so I’ll try again.
I am having a strange problem with a D300 .nef image opened from Aperture into Photoshop. Though the image looks fine, something is amiss. Most notably when I try to use the shadow/highlight command in Photoshop, the image actually darkens (highlights are set to zero amount). If I export the image as a jpeg and open it in Photoshop, the s/h command works as expected. If I export it as a .psd (or .tif) file to my desktop and open it, the s/h command again darkens the image. Interestingly, the .psd file thumbnail on the desktop shows really orange with red streaks through it, but opens as it should in Photoshop, except for the s/h problem as described above.
Since the original post, I’ve noted similar problems with other images taken around the same time. Interestingly, others seem to work fine. As a test, I exported the original .nef file to the desktop and opened it in Camera Raw/Photoshop and it works fine.
Could it be corruption/bug in Aperture’s .psd conversion? Or, probably more likely, am I missing something. . . .
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Now I'm really confused.
I experimented with an old D100 .nef image, and the same thing happened in Photoshop.
I found however, that if I turn the black and white clips (originally set at 0.01%), the shadow/highlight command works as expected. I don't know why this would make a difference in the Aperture .psd file, but it does. When I open the same .nef image in Camera Raw/Photoshop directly, the black/white clip setting (at .01%) is negligible on the image.
As per my prior post, I'm not sure how to link to these files, but I gladly will if I can figure it out.
As always, thanks for the help.

  • After editing in photoshop cs6 my photoshop edited image does not appear in Lightroom 4

after editing in photoshop cs6 my photoshop edited image does not appear in Lightroom 4 can anyone help?

In Library, set your sort order to Filename instead of Added order and see if the files show up, then.
How are you doing the Save in PS, using Save or Save As—one will show up, one won’t, I think, but I don’t remember which.

  • Color Mode for Photoshop EPS images not shown...

In Bridge CS2 we can see the File Properties > Color Mode - CMYK/RGB on Photoshop EPS images.
Bridge CS3 & CS4 the Color Mode is blank.  It doesn't matter if the Photoshop EPS are RGB or CMYK.
Neither color modes show.  The color mode is present (RGB & CMYK) with TIFF and Photoshop (.psd) images.
Why is the Color Mode blank (not present) with Photoshop EPS images in Bridge CS3 & CS4?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • Importing Photoshop RAW images into Aperture

When I import Photoshop RAW images that I have made adjustments to, into my Aperture library, they show up as the original RAW files and not with my adjustments. Is there a way to get the RAW adjustments imported as well.
The only reason I need to import them into Aperture is to post them in a web gallery. Or is there a way to create a ME web gallery directly from Photoshop files? How about creating a ME web gallery directly from Lightroom? Anybody have a clue?)
(Btw, in attemtpting to research this topic, I find I am totally unable to do a search of the discussions. Even with a search word like "Aperture", I get no messages. Not matter what search word I enter I get no messages found. ???)
    Thanks!
    Jim

    Thanks for the reply Allen.
I am saving them all as TIFFS now. I was just trying to avoid that time-consuming step. I do not really need them as TIFFS right now. It is to show edited RAW files to a client. Later, when selections are made, I would save that much smaller number of images as TIFFS. But it seems that there is no other way to import the RAW files with the edits into Aperture.
I used to create all of my web albums for clients in PS. But once I got a .mac account, I love and prefer the look of the .mac web galleries. But of course that necessitated importing all my PS files into either iPhoto (not an option) or Aperture. But can these PS web galleries be exported to a .mac web gallery?
    Thanks!

  • Why is Photoshop showing images cooler than they actually are?

    Hi everyone,
I work with Lightroom and Photoshop together, but when I open a file from Lightroom to Photoshop, the images look a touch cooler in Photoshop. At first I thought my colour settings must be off but they're the same in both Apps.
Even weirder, when I take a screenshot with Monosnap and look at the image in Finder, the colour looks normal... So it's as if Photoshop were showing me the image cooler but it's not changed at all.
    Any ideas?

If there is a difference between Photoshop and Lightroom the most likely cause is a bad/broken/wrong monitor profile. This can affect different applications differently. To test this, set sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as monitor profile on system level, and relaunch the applications so that they can load the new profile:
There is normally no particular need to have color settings synchronized between PS and Lr. Color management works the same way in both of them. The source color space is remapped/converted into the monitor color space, and the end result should be identical whatever that source is.
Some other applications, however, aren't color managed at all, and just ignore the monitor profile completely.
To get a correct screenshot from a color managed application, assign the monitor profile first, then convert to sRGB.

  • Connectivity issues - Bridge CC to Photoshop CC - Image Processor issues.

    Hi guys.
I'm having issues with Image Processor between Bridge CC and Photoshop CC. I can see in the forums that others are having issues that are close to mine but not the same. I can still see my image processor tab in my Tools menu.
The problem is that I can click the Image Processor tab and it will bring Photoshop CC to the front of all windows, act like its loading, and then nothing happens from there. The run script box doesn't come up, nothing opens.
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this and if so how you fixed it.
    Thank you

I'm having the same result when I run image processor from Bridge. Image processor looks like it's about to open, the wait cursor displays (Photoshop CC will open if it's closed), but then when focus switches to Photoshop, nothing happens.
A few months ago when I tried to upgrade to PS CC 2014 I had the same problem, which was only fixed when I removed all Adobe apps and re-installed CC and Bridge with no PS CC 2014. This might fix your problem if you re-install and only use a single version.
Currently I have both versions of Photoshop installed again as I need the linked smart object functionality of 2014 but I also need my library of extensions in Photoshop CC. (Really frustrating switch to HTML5 only, by the way Adobe)
Does anyone know if there is any way to have both versions of Photoshop installed AND have scripts fire off from Bridge?

Enlarging, Surface Blur, Noise reduction, Exposure (gamma adjust), Shadows and Highlights, Gaussian Blur (radius 0.3 pixel), Sharpening,
Curves - both customized and presets (contrast adjustments), Color balance, Hue and Saturation, Selective color, and a randomized gradient fill (noise samples, a grayscale mapping tool), does not create faces or addtional details. I know this from using PS CS3.
None of these steps (hints) alter an image. Your book recommendation does not apply.
Given that said, I have used those steps to get from this image...

  • Edit in Photoshop opens images upside down

    I'm using Lightroom 2.0 and PhotoShop CS3.
I'm on an Intel Mac running Leopard, with Lightroom 2.0 and Photoshop 10.0.1
I have a problem with opening images in Photoshop from Lightroom where those images were taken on a particular camera - a Fuji FinePix 9500.
Choosing Edit in Photoshop CS3 from the Lightroom Library module opens these images upside down.
Choosing Open as smart object in Photoshop also opens these images upside down.
The images are DNG files but trying the same action with the original RAW files displays the same problem.
Opening the same files directly into Photoshop CS3 displays the images correctly.
Opening the same files from Bridge CS3 displays the images correctly
Opening the same files from Lightroom version 1 displayed the images correctly.
Opening files from an older Fuji FinePix 4900 open correctly in Photoshop.
In Lightroom itself, the thumbnails, loupe views and slideshow images are all oriented correctly.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Probably the same bug that opens my D70 images rotated 90 degrees. No problems with my other cameras, only the D70. Adobe know about it, but it would be worth logging your bug on their report form:-

  • Photoshop CS3 - Image Processor; default Grayscale: Size Ratio prompt

I have just installed Photoshop CS3 and need to use the Image Processor to convert a batch of PCX (14,000 of them) images to JPG. When kicking this process off it does not run automatically as I get a prompt for each file asking me to input the Grayscale; Size Ratio.
Is there anyway I can disable this prompt so the Image Processor simply converts all the files in the directory specificed. If it's mandatory can I default it anywhere. Having to keep clicking Ok for 14000 files is going to be very time consuming.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Ok, so it looks like what I am after can be achieved, but I am still having problems.
In your last email one of the first instructions was "start recording an action" - how do I do this? Or is it an automatic feature?
When following the steps you provided and using the Automate > Batch option I get the errors,
"Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found"
    and then....
"There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop"
Am I doing something blatantly wrong?
