How do I get it to stop trying?

Seems like it should succeed, but if you want to eliminate it from trying, you need to find the autosaved .psb file on disk and remove it.
Where it puts it apparently depends on several things, and I honestly don't know for sure where the location will be. In my case, on Windows 8.1, Photoshop CC auto-saves files in a subfolder of my user profile. Example:
C:\Users\NoelC\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\AutoRecover\_Target2856197EA6467F59924FE605AD8AD453.psb

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

I am new to photoshop...I am trying to photomerge a family photo.

I took say 6 photos of family members at different times. I am trying to put everyone in one picture is this possible? I tried doing one and i ended up having my brother overlap me..lol I have Photoshop elements 8. I just need to make a family photo no one is in a specific spot to align right. I can usually figure stuff out by messing with it I can not!! Please put it in Lehman terms I am new to this. I hope someone can help??? If it helps I have Windows 7??

As I understand it, you have 6 photos taken at different times, several people represented in each, and you wish to have a composite. The lighting and resolution of these 6 photos will not be uniform, it is safe to say, making for difficulty with a good outcome. However, there is a technique utilized by the scrapbooking folks. I copied this down, but do not have the source identified unfortunately. In effect one creates a customized template which is populated.
Open a new, blank file (File>new>blank file) and set width & height in the inch size of your paper stock, resolution 300px/in, background white (can be any color)
Access the rectangular marquee tool, and in the the tool's option bar select "Fixed size", and put in 2in x 3in, for example. You will have to calculate how many of these rectangles you will be able to place, as there is only so much "real estate".
Turn on the grid and snap to grid via View>grid & snap to grid. You can configure the grid via Edit>preferences>Guides and grids if you want to.
Duplicate the background layer, and create the first box by clicking with the rectangular marquee tool. Position the box, then fill it with 50% gray (Edit>fill selection, and under contents select 50% gray.) Select>deselect gets rid of the marching ants
Repeat for each new box. You should now have a document containing several rectangular boxes filled with 50% gray.
Select the first box that you wish to fill (with part of a picture) with the magic wand tool. On the tool's option bar be sure that contiguous is checked. You should see "marching ants" around the selection, indicating that it is active.
Open picture 1, go to Select>all, Edit>copy, then go to your layout as completed in step #5, and Edit>paste into selection
Your image will be larger that the rectangular box, but you can drag it around to position the person that you wish to display. CTRL+T will allow you to resize the image with the corner handles, and to maneuver it
Repeat (for different folks from any of the pictures) for each rectangle so as to include the person(s) who will be so honored.
This is a complex tutorial, but you can do it. Print it out. Let us know how you make out.

Photoshop locks up trying to recover a file

Earlier, I was working on a photo with many layers and tried to switch to mask mode when it locked up. After an hour of waiting for it finish, I finally terminated PS via Windows task manager. Now, every time I go to start PS, it tries to recover the image and keeps locking up. I tried restarting my computer but it's still doing it. It doesn't lock up the whole computer but I need to finish the work. I have accepted the fact that I will have to start all over with the image, now I just want to get back at it. I am using PS CC on Windows 7.

I think that documents file may be a goner. If you want to recover that file first try resetting your preferences to see if Photoshop starts. If Photoshop still hangs you need to move the recovery PSB files out of your Photoshop recovery folder. Photoshop should start then you can try to open the PSB files you moved out of Photoshop recovery folders one at a time to see in any can be recovered, Each user ID the uses Photoshop should had a autorecover folder for the Photoshop versions the user ID has used.

What version of PS? If it's CC, just reinstall the CC application manager then PS and sign in. For an earlier version you will need to call Abobe to have you S/N reset.

It is a mute point now. PSE12 finally failed to the point it locked up the MAC. I had to restore the MAC OS from backup to a point before the PSE12 update.
The MAC now operates correctly and so does PSE12. I don't think I'll be updating PSE any time soon.

HP Envy 14 - black screen after start up screen when trying to recover the system

I have a HP Envy 14 and months ago I got the message "Hard Drive failure imminent".
Well, the HD finally stopped working and I got a Kingston ssd hyperx 240gb to replace it.
I have the HP recovery disks, so I tried to recover my system with them. The 6 disks are used to creat an image and then I have to click "continue" in order to re-initiate the sytem. Then, I get the usual HP start up screen, so I hit enter. Then, I get a black screen (screen is on) and nothing happens. I've done this 4 times and always get the same black screen at the end.
Any suggestions to solve this problem?

At this point you may consider contacting Kingston to ask them why your SSD is not running after POST when clearly Windows is installed .

I have tried to download Photoshop Elements 10 three times now and it has crashed every time. I checked my settings and the format on my computer is Max OS Extended. I read that 3 other people were having the same problem. Did anyone figure out how to fix this or does Photoshop Elements not run on Mac OS X?

Sfasolo it appears you are installing Photoshop Elements as opposed to downloading Photoshop Elements. If you are talking about the warranty from Apple that would have expired when your iPhone hit the water. So it doesn't matter. Just take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.

Can I transfer music from an iPod to a computer? I lost music on my computer, and I'm trying to recover what is on my iPod.

I have a 60 GB iPod that has over 2000 songs on it. Somehow I lost a number of songs on my iMac. I am trying to recover the songs from my iPod and reload them in my itunes library. The Library now has 1600 songs so I'm down by at least 400 songs. Does anyone know how to move the song from an iPod to an IMac running OS X 10.9.2 Maverick?

The songs on the iPod will not copy over to the new/different iTunes library. The sync process is only one way and that is from iTunes to the iPod. The only exception to this are iTunes purchases which can be transferred from the iPod to iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases with the iPod plugged in and appearing in iTunes.

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

Have you checked the ink cartridges and made sure the nozzles are clear? Are you able to print from outside of iPhoto with the correct color?
Try the following: make temporary copy of the library and do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
