  • Adobe Photoshop CC lags on Macbook Pro when moving layer content around

    Hi,
We just bought new Macbook Pro laptops last Friday and also got Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Illustrator CC. Everything works pretty fine, except moving layer content eg. images or fonts around is a bit behind, slow/laggy, without any apparent reason.
This happens despite external screen connected or not. It also happens with or without power adapter connected. We have brand new Mac OS Mavericks and 16GB RAM so performance should not be a problem.
I hope you can help out, we are a digital agency and do a lot of graphical work. Thanks in advance.

i cant believe this problem is still happening. same exact issue here. photoshop cs6 and CC run like **** on my macbook but run smooth on windows 7 on the same exact hardware, macbook pro 2.5ghz core i5, 16gb ram and intel hd 4000. ive talked with applecare about this, adobe support (who hasn't called me back twice now) and no response on how to fix this. its absolutely ridiculous that we are having to go through this much trouble to get this problem fixed. ive brought it up over 5 times now and no solution except for the usual suggestions (turn off hardware acceleration, delete your preferences, yada yada). same hardware, mac osx photoshop cc lags, windows photoshop runs fine.. something is wrong with the mac version of photoshop cs6 and CC adobe please fix this as soon as possible.

  • Photoshop cs6 lags very badly

    Hi there,
I've got Photoshop cs6 13.0.6. x64 and it has turned very slowly, perhaps after I installing Maverics, but now I've installed Yosemite version 10.10.1
    The info of MacBook Pro:
    - 2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    - NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
    - Photoshop is using 79% of available Ram. Cache level 1, animated zoom disabled.
    The Problem:
Photoshop doesn't react with my shortcut keys, like if I want to undo by typing cmd +z, nothing happens. I have to do it again, then it might work. Usually I have to point somewhere in the art board and then press cmd+z. The same thing with the other commands, like v, e, b etc. Then it's slowing a lot, even if I'm doing with a low resolution. Last time I was doing a pixel art in 50x50px sized art board and photoshop started lagging and showing "spinning color wheel". During that it was not responding to anything and It took approximately 2min. Then photoshop worked for a few minutes before it started spinning the same color wheel. Other programs do work fine during that. This same thing happens every time when I'm using photoshop.
Has anyone else the same problem? I've tried to look answers on forums but those weren't leading anywhere. I'm also using Illustrator cs6 and it's working really well, no lagging and recognises shortcut keys too. No problems with that.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro.

Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro. Simple operations like selecting a tool, or just any click take up to 5min to complete. I looked in the force quit menu and it tells me that the program is not responding. I tried re-starting my laptop, even uninstalling the program. When I installed it again the problem got worse as when it loads the rainbow wheel shows up, not letting me do anything. Currently I'm on the trial version. Maybe the problem will fix itself if I buy a plan?

Not really. You have to look at things.
System requirements | Photoshop to start with. See how your Macbook measures up
Verify your disk and Repair Permissions with disk utility.
Be sure you are updated to 2014.2.2
Then see if there are bad fonts or third party plugins.

  • Photoshop CS6 lagging

I have a user that started having trouble with Photoshop CS6 lagging a week or two ago. Everything was fine before that. She reports that all the other adobe apps are working fine. The machine has been used for a couple of years now with no trouble and has a SSD. What possible solutions are there for this?
    Thanks,
    Justin

It could be a driver, a corrupt font, a corrupt OS font cache, another application (like antivirus, firewalls, or just about anything - even Chrome has caused problems at some points).
Most people are not seeing any such lag, so it is most likely something that changed on your specific system.

  • CS6 photoshop is lagging but the rest of CS6 is not, i don't think hardware is the issue.

    Hardware specs:
    Processor: Intel® CoreT i7-4710MQ, 6MBL3 Cache, 2.5-3.5GHz
    Memory: (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-12800/1600MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro® K1000M 2GB DDR3
    Hard Drive: 500GB 2.5" SATA3 Hybrid w/ 4GB NAND Flash
    Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® 8.1; 64-bit
All of photoshop is lagging for me but my biggest issue with it is the brushstroke lag. I really need this program to work for my commissions and classwork, and have done all the troubleshooting I can on my own. I'm willing to even downgrade to CS4 if necessary, but if i can get cs6 to work that would be preferred. does anyone have a solution for this?

  • Photoshop CS4 Lag

I have Windows 7 64 bit, plenty of RAM, a quad core processor and a 512MB GPU, and for some reason Photoshop still lags on my system, for example the brush strokes and canvas rotating etc. I have installed the 11.0.1 update and updated my display drivers, but the problem is still not resolved even after turning OpenGL completely off. How can I reduce, if not get rid of the lagging?

Try this Adobe artical. hold true for windows 7.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404439.html
I would do a defrag to start with.
You can also use the built in windows 7 troubleshooting tools.
Look at device manager for possible errors.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 Lag

    Hi,
Every time I open Adobe Photoshop CS5, the program lags. Whenever I click on File, Edit, Select, View, Window, etc., my mouse lags and the availability of the menus even took longer than expected (all were gray). How do I fix this? This is so annoying.
    Thanks.

    Could be a plugin...

  • Adobe photoshop cs6 lags in my 2 month old macbook pro retina

hi, i had bought a mbp retina 15' 2 months ago. i have installed photoshop cs6 extended. but there was a lag while zooming, while moving the image when zoomed, when using brush, responce comes after 1-3 seconds the command has given. Sometimes i need to click on a side and then only photoshop responds to the given command. I thought updating my photoshop would fix the problem. i have updated my photoshop version to 13.0.6. I dont think it should lag in a pc like mbp.
    thnks for help in advance.

Hello, could you please post the contents of help>system info? so that we can see how Ps is setup?
Also, what are the dimensions of the image in pixels, number of layers? does it have smart objects?

  • Photoshop CS5 lags, but other programs run fine

I installed the CS5 Creative Suites onto my eMachines E525 latpop. It came with 2 GB of RAM but I upgraded it to 4 GB.
Harddrive is at 165GB free of 220GB.
Processor is Intel Celeron CPU 900 @ 2.20 GHz, 2194Mhz, 1 Core, 1 Logical Processor
All the other programs in the suite run fine. The only problem I'm having is with Photoshop. Whenever I use a tool, it lags. If I use any of the shape tool, as I drag it out, it lags. Same goes for the brush tool and any other tool that I use.  Efficiency is at 100% whenever I have a document open, but the tools  still drag. Even on a blank 500x500 document at 72 dpi lags.
I've looked through the Optimize Photoshop Perfomance page, and I've done all that I know I can do, and it still lags.
I turned off OpenGL Drawing, Let Photoshop use 2385MB (70%). I've changed it to let it use more, but that doesn't help.
I installed Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash Catalyst from the Suite.
    I also have Norton 360.
Is Norton causing Photoshop to be slow or is it something else?
Is there anything I can do to fix the lag or do I need to make more upgrades to my laptop?

What display interface is in that laptop (e.g., a nVidia model, Intel model, etc.)?
The OpenGL implementation in the video driver can have a drastic effect on the performance.  Have you tried the following as a diagnostic?
    Edit - Preferences - Performance.
Uncheck [ ] Enable OpenGL Drawing.
    Close and restart Photoshop.
If after doing the above you see the lag problem eliminated, you might want to check with your laptop maker (or in rare cases the video interface maker) to see if any updated display drivers have been released.  Many OpenGL problems have been corrected in recent driver releases.
Make sure you re-enable OpenGL after changing drivers to see if the highest performance is now available to you.
You could also try keeping OpenGL enabled but going into the [Advanced Settings...] and changing to Basic mode.

  • Windows 7 64bit - Photoshop Brush Lag

I have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 and I use Photoshop to create comics and complete drawings. Lately, I have been having a serious trouble with brush lag. The more I draw and color, the farther behind the brush gets from the curser. It doesn't matter what input device I use (Intuos 3 pen or USB mouse), I still have the same issue. I don't really know how to fix it. I know it is not my computer's performance; I have Windows 64 bit, a Sandy Bridge i7, 16 gigs of ram, and a Radeon HD6850.
    I've tried:
Restarting my computer before opening Photoshop - Didn't work
Checking for Adobe updates - Didn't work
Updating my graphics drivers - Didn't work
I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions.

It may have to do with the tablet settings in Windows. Try these tips:

  • Hi, my photoshop CS6 lags tremendously.

I've been looking into fixes for the last hour and a half or so. Photoshop opens for me, and then it lags. When I try to draw there is a 3-8 second lag whether it's with the brush tool, lasso tool, etc. I can't use the program as it is and I really need it fixed. I 've tried the whole turning off/on the graphics processor thing, and the advanced settings, and other common fixes I saw for this issue when I searched it, but nothing has worked. I need this fixed please.... I don't know computer terms SUPER well.
    Thanks

ADOBE seems unable to solve this problem until today, this problem has been going on for years.
You goto SEARCH in this forum, type in "CS6 lag" and you can start enjoy reading the large amount of user complaints......eventually without any solutions.

  • Photoshop Actions Lagging/Photoshop Crashing

    Hello!
My photoshop actions keep lagging. I will run an action and it plays through the whole script but takes awhile for the changes to show on screen. Sometimes it wont change until I exit and open the document again. Photoshop will also crash without warning. I can also recreate the crash when I simply open a document. I have tried deleting cache files, deleting preferences, even re-installing. I need help diagnosing this problem. I am using CS5 on Windows 7.
    Please help.

As for the Actions, what are the Playback Options?
Have you properly restored the Preferences (ctr-alt-shift on starting and the dialog "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File?") or manually deleted the files?

  • Inkwell causing Photoshop to lag

We just installed a Wacom Cintique and were trying to use inkwell instead of the software keyboard to enter text, and when we do, then go back to Photoshop to work photoshop lags for about 10 minutes before it recognizes drawn strokes with the tablet.
Does anyone know why, or if there is a fix to address this issue?

I have not heard of any on-going Bug search, regarding fonts and the Text Tool, but I do know that some engineers are "collecting" fonts, that cause problems.
Regarding fonts, there are often two main issues:
Corrupt fonts, that are otherwise good.
Fonts that are not corrupt, but are written/created in such a way, as to cause issues.
It can be tough for a user to know which is which. This ARTICLE goes into more detail, and has some links to Adobe KB articles, on fonts, specifically to PS. The main article was written to help with problems of fonts in Adobe Premiere (Pro & Elements), in the Titler sub-app., with is much more sensitive to font issues, than is PS, AI or InDesign.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
