Photoshop cc not recognizing wacom tablet pressure

So when I go into the "Brush" window on the tab "Shape Dynamics there is a caution triangle and upon hovering my mouse over it it reads
"Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet"
It's even more weird considering I can (kind of) control the opacity with pen pressure
But I cannot control size AT ALL with the tablet
I'm using windows 8 and here's the tablet I'm currently using

  • Why is my Photoshop CS3 not recognizing my NEF file from my new Nikon D7100, but will recognize NEF's from my old Nikon D90?

Help... Why is my Photoshop CS3 not recognizing my NEF file from my new Nikon D7100, but will recognize NEF's from my old Nikon D90?

Because many of the camera makers slightly alter their versions of their raw format whenever they release a new camera model.
Nikon does it, Canon does it, and also several other camera makers.
There is not a single version of NEF that all Nikon cameras use, nor a single version of CR2 for all Canon models.
Here is a list of supported cameras and the required ACR plugin needed to open the raw files.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
Versions of ACR are specific to each version of Photoshop.
Older versions of PS cannot use the latest version of ACR.
You need to download the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter.
This will convert your newer 7100 files to DNGs that can then be opened in older versions like CS3.
Be aware DNG only works on folders of files, not individual files. Select the FOLDER not a single file

Let's play the sequence and see if that helps. First - register the Star with Pandigital.  Using your Adobe ID to do thishelps a lot.  If you've registered it already - but didn't use your AdobeID, let's move on - we can try to fix that later. Next, plug in your Star to your computer.  Watch the screen to see that thePandigital tells you it's connected and ready. Then, bring up ADE.  ADE should see the Star, and it should show up on thebookshelf on the left side of Library view.  The Star also should tell youit's interacting with ADE. If this doesn't work, ADE is not the problem, so don't mess around with thesoftware.  What could be preventing interaction is the registration ID youused with the Star.  With ADE running, and the Star connected, try pressingthe key combination CTLSHIFTD, if you're a Windows guy, or CMDSHIFTD ifyou're on a Mac.  This should deauthorize the Star.  DE then should ask youto authorize it, and you can enter your Digital Editions ID.  That shouldkick it off. If that's not working, try doing a reset on the Star to factory spec's. ==============

  • With Parental Controls on, Wacom Tablet pressure sensativity will not work.

I run several high-end Mac Art and Photo-based labs and have run into an issue with Leopard's Parental Controls and Wacom Tablets - when I choose to limit the programs that my users (students) can use, Wacom Tablets will lose functionality under those logins - and it seems only to be pressure-sensitive functions. I've tried several combinations of allowing all programs except utilities, with utilities, etc - no dice - I actually have to turn off "limit programs" and that is the only point that it'll actually let me use all the Wacom's functionality under those managed users - is there a way to fix this?

..."I've allowed all Utilities, Applications, etc and no matter what, as soon as I turn on the "only allowed selected programs" option, it won't work."...
I'm not sure, but it is possible that allowing / disallowing based on the pre-defined categories may not work because the software that Wacom uses on my system is in an atypical location, and has an atypical structure - it actually has one application contained inside another. It may be necessary to approve the apps explicitly.
    Perhaps try either:
    i) Opening "/Library" > "Application Support" > "Tablet" and explicitly dragging any apps present there into the "Parental Controls" pref pane in the panel where the programmes are listed. On my system, the app is called "PenTabletDriver.app"...
    or
ii) Logging in to the managed account (with application restrictions in place), and trying to launch the "PenTabletDriver.app" programme. If this generates the "application is not allowed" message, it should be possible to "always allow" with "admin" authentication to white-list it at that stage...

  • Photoshop CS4 not opening & Wacom Cintiq 20WSX driver problem

    Hello,
I have been using Photoshop CS4 for quite sometime now with no issues. I have just started using a Wacom Cintiq 20WSX and installed all the necessary drivers and now Photoshop will not open (I have seen other threads relating to Intuos tablets but not the Cintiq 20WSX).
I have unistalled the Wacom drivers and Photoshop will open, on reinstalling the Wacom drivers the problem starts again "Photoshop cs4 has stopped working".
I am running Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit. Photoshop CS4 has all current updates and I am using the most recent driver for the 20WSX from Wacoms site.
Any suggestions as this is really really frustrating. (I have not yet attempted to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall it)
(Incidently I am using the Production Premium CS4 Suite and everyhting else appears to be unaffected -AE, AI are opening with no issues)
    Thanks!

Hi. I had the same problems with my Intous4 as well, and since both cintiq and Intuos use the same driver it probably is the same.
Try this. Uninstall the wacom, unplug it, restart the pc. Then download the latest driver from the wacom site (if you didn't already), and install that latest driver alone, without installing the one that came with the cintiq. This is how I solved my problem, it wouldn't open PSCS4 64bit and AE

After installing LR6 there is no pen pressure sensitivity with wacom intuos pro tablet (Win 8.1, latest wacom driver)

  • Photoshop 2014 not recognizing nef files

    hi all-
i updated to ps14 two days ago and now nef files are unrecognizable in camera raw and ps for that matter. the nef files open fine in lightroom. in fact, i always open in lightroom and open in raw from there. everything was working perfectly until the update. anyone else experiencing the same problem?
i'm on a mac running 10.9.3. lightroom 5.5 and as stated, ps14. thanks for any help.

I took to the internet and found that I needed to download the Adobe DNG Converter.
    Not quite.
    There are two options:
Update the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in used by Photoshop to recognize and process Raw files, or
If your version of Photoshop is not compatible with the version of ACR required to open Raw files from your camera, then download and install the DNG converter to convert Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in your version of Photoshop
The limitation with the ACR plugin is that
different versions of ACR support different camera models Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras and
ACR is only compatible with specific versions of Photoshop. Full list here: Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
In your case, the D5200 was first supported in ACR 7.3.
Photoshop CS6 shipped with ACR 7.0 and is compatible up to ACR 8.5 (8.3 with Windows XP).
So, in PHotoshop, check your version of Camera Raw (Help > About Plug-Ins > Camera Raw). Click Help > Updates to update ACR.

  • Wacom tablet pressure sensitivity, dont work outside canvas

    Hi.
I wonder, if i'm the only one, who are having problems to start a stroke outside the canvas and follow it on the canvas, without the pressure sensitivity is all on max.
seems the same is happing, if you have marked an area and start at stroke outside that area. kinda like the brush only start recognize the pressure level when on the canvas or marking.
    does it make sense?
    running windows7 64bit intous3 A4.
tested in on my my laptop too on the intous3 A5, same problem.
    /cheers

    Hi JJMack
    thx for your comment
    - i'm on photoshop cs5, any brush thats pressure sensitivity, did it with both docked and floating canvas.
I think i've fixed the issue.
Apprently its a problem with the newest version of the wacom driver. And somehow it only affects photoshop.
i've downloaded the march 2010 driver from wacom. And installed that. seems to be fixed.
    /cheers

  • Photoshop CC not recognizing installed camera raw 8.3 plug-in

I have just installed DNG/Camera Raw 8.3 on my computer, and it is running in LR, but when I try to edit a LR photo in PS CC, it says I need Camera Raw 8.3. PS CC is only running Camera Raw 8.2.  How do I get PS CC to see the 8.3 version? Better question might be does the DNG 8.3 download include CR8.3, and if not, how do I get CR8.3?

No, the DNG and ACR updates are separate.  You should be able to invoke the ACR update from the Help menu in Photoshop.

  • Newly installed photoshop 6 not recognizing my scanner, not allowing me to import scans

I switcjed from cs 2 to cs6 when i got a new imac and for some reason even though it seems like I've installed the scanner driver successfully, and the computer recognizes the scanner, it does not show up as import option in photoshop. is scanning into photoshop cs6 different from cs2? do i scan in some way that does not use the import button?

  • Saving file with max compatibility in Photoshop is not recognized by Muse when I try to import

I had "save with maximum compatibility" set to "always" in the Photoshop preferences and Muse would not recognize this and not import the PSD file.  So I set "save with maximum compatibility" to "ask" and did a "save as" in order to force Photoshop to save it with "max compatibility."  I verified that the "max compatibility" box was checked.  Tried to import, or Place, the PSD file in Muse:  no go.  What's wrong here?

Thanks, Jeff, for continuing to follow up on this.  I did indeed use the PSD as 8-bit RGB (which came from a website template I bought some years ago).  My workaround has been to make a PNG version of the PSD.  Muse accepts the PNG file.  But I'd really like to know why the PSD fails to import.  It's a mystery right now.  I downloaded a sample Muse project last week that was part of a video tutorial.  Importing the PSDs from that sample project was no problem.

  • Photoshop CS5 not recognizing EPSON 2450 flatbed scanner

I am on a MacPro....OS X 10.6.8. I am running Adobe Photoshop CS5. I need to be able to run my EPSON 2450 flatbed scanner through Photoshop. But when I go to File > Import > it's not there. Please explain where I can find the TWAIN plug-in, where to laod it and how to make it so it shows up under, "Import" so I can operate the scanner through Photoshop.

Scanning with TWAIN has become increasingly buggy.
Why not just use the Epson scanner software that came with the scanner?
That way you can continue to use Photoshop while using Epson to scan.
There are more features available from Epson than with Image Capture.
However, if you feel the need to use TWAIN, here is the link for Mac CS5 plugin.
Five seconds with Google would get you this:

  • Photoshop is not recognizing my HP 6500A scanner. Any ideas?

Working on a classroom assignment to prove we know how to scan from Photoshop.   When I try to import, the all-in-one scanner is not an option in the pick list.

Ok, WIA is barebones, but free.
Vuescan does supply twain plugins and better control over your scans. It supports 2500 scanners, but it is a paid solution.
    www.hamrick.com for a demo.
I think it's better not to use twain. It does put a hold on Photoshop until the scan is finished.

  • Turning off "Use Windows Ink" on Wacom Tablet Properties cause no pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 (Windows 8.1)

    Hi there,
As the title describes it's a Photoshop bug not a Wacom driver issue. Interestingly the Lightroom is working fine.
    Check this video please:
Photoshop CC 2014 bug com messas graficas - YouTube

Ok, I understand that it is necessary to use the Windows 8 Ink but then why is it works perfectly in Lightroom? It's pretty difficult drawing if I want to start a line with a slow motion and the circle comes up nearly always.
I believe that many Photoshop users use Wacom products. Why don't you talk each other guys (Adobe & Wacom) and try to find a solution even if Microsoft made your life a bit exotic?
