Photoshop CC Pricing Question

Previous upgrades worked out to be $11 per month for people who adopted every new version of Photoshop ($200/18 months) and $5.50 per month for people who purchased every other version ($200/36 months). After the first year, Photoshop CC will be $20 per month. Can someone explain to me why I would want to pay so much more per month? Especially when I am using another app more in my workflow and Photoshop less? Maybe I am missing something here.

Photoshop CS6 nooby questions/how do i?

I have alot of quesstions and dont really see alot of clear forum posts on what im looking for. so ill make this discussion thread in hopes of getting responses here. Also if someone knows a better forum somewhere for topics or discussion like i ask here PLEASE direct me im open to looking other places.
For starters. I would liek to know if there is a way to get a more realistic oil painting look using brushes or a extension or combination in PS CS6. The filter is rubbish imo doesnt look liek oilpainting at all really. Looks more like a colorized embossing tool. I did find a program Autodesk Sketchbook 6 which has a more paint like look and sets of brushes to accompany. But alas its not got the precision and options that PS has. So if anyone knows how i can achieve this type of effect whiel just painting with a tool id appreciate a link to or explanation on how I have seen 'prfessionals' in videos doing the exact thigns im asking about. Yet they could have been using a custom built extension of some sort and assuredly running a older version of the program as it ahs been awhiel since i seen it. So hope its out there and someone directs me to it lol.

Simplify is my third most used Topaz product after Adjust and DeNoise, but I probably use the other two 100 times for every use of Simplify, and never to produce an oil paint look. So I just had a play, and it works pretty well with lots of presets, an plenty of sliders to fine tune. It doesn't produce brush strokes though, so Photoshop's Oil Paint filter is a useful tool to use after Simplify.
Last I looked you can get a 30 day fully function trial of the Topaz products, and they are realistically priced.
But I suspect some of the examples you have been looking at did not use Photoshop at all, but Corel Painter. Check out some of these links

Please don't be fooled by all the Installation, driver, and high dpi posts you see in this forum. I think most of the regulars here HATE them, but answer them while waiting for interesting questions about how to do stuff with Photoshop. In fact this forum had a much higher percentage of interesting questions befor the CC Photography bundle deal was released, which attracted swarms of new users with little experience, and sometimes inadequate systems. It is rude not to answer them, but it is not always a rewarding experience with people sometimes thinking we are paid Adobe staff who they can vent at.
So if you have interesting questions, please ask them.

11i Advanced Pricing Questions on usage of Item Category Segment Values

Hi All,
we are on 11i, i am trying to setup on modifiers using Item Categories. Customer has 4 segment category structure.
Category structure= Vendor, Group, Style, Price code , here is how Data looks = 060.10.800.40
In 11i, can we setup Modifiers on Segment1 & Segment 2 ( 060.10), so system picks up all values for segment3 and segment4.
I understand R12 can do this as per Metalink Note: 746020.1. is this supported in 11i.? I am unable to accomplish this.

Regarding your queries.,
1. Relevant for delivery field in Item Category is for TEXT Items and for others you should configure the field in Schedule lines.
3. Shipping conditions will be defaulted from the CMR of SP. If a value exists in the sales document type (eg. OR) then it will have priority and will replace the value defaulted from CMR.
5. The pricing applies to Item Level only. But you cannot determine different procedures for different line items.
6. Header conditions will not have access sequence and you cannot create condition records for header conditions in VK11.
7. In consignment process - the first two steps are mandatory i.e., Consignment fillup and consignment issue.
The other two steps are required only if there are returns from the customer(not consignee) and if there are any unsold stocks at the consignee.

Photoshop Elements 9 question

I just installed Photoshop Elements 9 on a laptop. I had it previously installed on a pc but the motherboard died and so I installed it on a different laptop to get by until getting a new latop. I get a message saying I need to deactivate photoshop from another pc. I uninstalled it but didnt deactivate it before I uninstalled. Does this mean photoshop 9 on the new pc will expire in 30 days?

Photoshop 8.0 Question

I have Photoshop 8.0 Elements but have not used it for years. It will not launch, can't I still use it as a photo editor without the online Revel stuff? This is a stupid question but I can't find a straight answer out there, what am I missing?

Just don't use the welcome screen. Go into the program files/applications and find the editor or organizer in windows, or the PSE application on a mac and launch that directly. You can't use revel from within PSE 8 at all ever.

Azure Media Services Pricing Questions

I am contacting you in regards to pricing structures for Azure Media Services. I would like to clarify some details outlined on the Azure pricing page.
I work for a company that provides content security solutions, and we provide Microsoft Playready related DRM solutions to our customers.
I have a customer who has an Enterprise Agreement and is using Azure Cloud services. They are planning to utilise the Azure Media Services and I wish to help clarify some points
for them.
Can you please provide answers to these questions ?
For Content Protection (DRM) does the customer need to prepare their own Playready License servers? Or is this fully covered in the Azure Content Protection service ?
For the PAYG plan for Content Protection, there is a price of $0.21/ 100 licenses.
Can you please confirm the definition of “license” in this scenario ?
Is the license in reference to issuing one license per streaming session per unique user ?
If the user watches multiple contents/assets is a license required for each asset ? Is only one license required per piece of contents ? Or multiple licenses during viewing ?
When using key-rotation for live services, does that impact the number of licenses required ?
Are there any conditions for using Azure Encoding & Processing services in order to attain the Content Protection price? (for example certain amount of minimum usage of encoding?
Are there any conditions for using Azure Streaming services in order to attain the Content Protection price ? (for example certain amount of minimum streaming usage?)
Is the PAY pricing plan for Content Protection relevant to content encoded as HLS and encrypted with Playready ?
Is the separate Playready DRM licensing costs ($0.35/ client and $0.02/quarter per active client) still relevant for Silverlight players when using Azure Content Protection services ?

Bridge/Photoshop Web Gallery Question-flashobject.js file

Hi There, I have a question about the Photoshop Flash Gallery, particularly the flashobject.js file and index.html file. Whenever I try and open the finished Flash Gallery HTML page, I get a message that says "Please upgrade your Flash player" and "Already have Flash player installed? Click Here." Is there a way that I can remove that and just have it go to the Flash Gallery, if so where? I notice that it says Flash Player 6 but that is an old version. I am not very knowledgeable in javascript so any help would be appreciated.

The current version is Flash Player 10.

Photoshop CS4 CPU Question...

Hello,
I hope everyone had happy and safe holidays. Welcome to 2009.
I have a friend with a Pentium 4 system and she wants to run Photoshop CS4
Extended on it. Right now it only has 1GB of ram and while she plans to buy
a new system later this year, she would like to use the one she has now. She
can install another 1GB of ram, however the system requirements for PSCS4E
only states a 2GHz or faster processor. It doesn't state a minium specific
kind of processor.
So my question is will Photoshop CS4 Extended run on a fast Pentium 4
machine with 2GB of RAM, Windows XP Pro?

Bob, the problem is without knowing if it will install and run she doesn't
want to spend the money on the ram. Since Adobe doesn't state with the
requirements anything more than "2GHz or faster processor" and since a
friend of mine wasn't able to install until he added 2GB of ram to his
system we both want to make sure that it will install on a P4. Once we know
that she can then decide if she wants to spend the money on the extra ram.
If it won't install on a P4 (the installer like with the less than 2GB of
RAM won't let it) then buying the extra ram is moot and would be a waste of
money.

[PC] Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11 Question

How do I reinstall Photoshop Elements 11 on new PC?

Dear Bill (sent 11 March, but not posted here!)
My old (actually quite new) computer unexpectedly packed up irreparably last month. Fortunately data was backed up, but not programmes (I assumed I would be able to reinstall from original providers). The answers to your questions in this context are:
I do not have PSE 11 as either a file or physical media
Was installed once – on now defunct machine
No warning of breakdown, so not deactivated or uninstalled
I have the PSE 11 serial number
I may say I have been extremely put out by the way that the Adobe helpline has responded – out of warranty so £65 before we will even talk to you!

PS (1 April 2014) I gave up and downloaded a new copy of PSE11 from Adobe, but this would not open. After a long and fruitless time on various Adobe sites, trying to resolve that issue they informed me that they do not 'maintain' previous versions (though maintenance not requested - just access to their own download, and PSE11 may be previous, but mine was only 2 years old). An upgrade option is referred to on the Adobe site, but could not be ordered. I have given up and ordered PSE12 from Amazon (for £65), after being offered it for £199 by Adobe! This has left a very bad taste in my mouth - April fool indeed.

Photoshop scratch disk question

Hi All,
I do a lot of work with photoshop elements, and currently have an external drive with a 2GB partion as my scratch disk - connected via firewire.
However I am beginning to find this set up a little annoying as it means I am stuck to one location unable to move when using photoshop.
I was thinking about partioning the internal hard drive on my PB instead and so having the scratch disk available wherever and also the transfer speed would be by the Gb instead of 400Mb. (am I right?)
Is it a good idea to partion a hard drive on a portable? is it worth all the hassle of reinstalling and also has anyone had any problems after partioning? like battery life decreasing?

you seem have to put this question in the software session but fine. well, actually, you don't need to specifically partition you drive for photoshop and just let it choose your start-up disk or other connected drive you choose. but, for external drive, you have to connect while you start up you system. if not, your ps will always switch back to your start-up disk when you start your ps.

Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting Service Plans - licensing and pricing questions

Hello! I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with a few nitty-gritty pricing / licensing / functionality questions, in regard to the Adobe Connect Pro Meeting plans.
1) The pricing is $55/mth/host - if you have, e.g., 5 hosts, but make more than 5 recorded meetings available on-demand, will they all be accessible at any given moment?
2) 25 concurrent users is the limit; is that per recorded meeting? e.g., if 15 people access one recorded meeting and 15 people access another recorded meeting, all at the same time, would you be over your limit?
3) If you do happen to go over your concurrent user limit, what will happen for the 26th user? will they be denied access, or will you simply be charged an overage fee?
I'd appreciated any help or insight you have to offer!

I assume you got this pricing from the on-line website? I ask because when you buy it from Adobe enterprise sales and through our corporate channel then this is all different.
Answers:
1. Yes. On-Demand recordings don't apply against your license.
2. No. That 25 limnit is for concurrent live meetings. It's unlimited for on-demand recordings. That 25 limnit is completely set by the kind of license you are buying. if you purchased thru the software channel versus on-line then that number would be 100 not 25. On-Demand recordings have no limit.
3. If you exceed the concurrent license, then the 26th person trying to join will receive a pop-up message saying the room limit has been reached and they will not be able to join. Yes, denied access. No way to charge a fee for overage.

Photoshop CS6 license question

I have a Photoshop CS6 installed on a desktop PC and sent the PC for repair. The tech re-installed the OS so I never had the chance to de-activate the s/w. I know I am entitled to 2 licenses (one desktop and one laptop). I re-installed the PS on the repaired PC and seems to work fine. How do I know if I have burned 2 licenses already or just one, without trying to install to a laptop to test it?
I can't seem to find Adobe's phone number on the website to ask the question so here I am asking the forum.

Month-to-Month Pricing Question

I'm looking at rolling over into paying month-to-month when my contract is up mid-January - at least as one of my options. I've been trying to price all the options to figure out what would work best, but have been unable to find information about the pricing for month-to-month. I've got three lines on my current family plan - two use voice minutes for the most part, while the third primarily uses text and data, although not heavily (<500 texts and <150 mb data).
Is there a page on VerizonWireless.com that I have missed with this information?
If not (or if you just happen to know off the top of your head), what is the monthly pricing per line for voice, text, and data?

Monthly pricing remains the same as your contract prices . . . you continue to pay the bill as you have been, but now you are no longer "under contract" and can cancel service without an ETF. It will continue indefinitely until you terminate service, or upgrade phones at a discount.

Based on what you presented, a Family Talk plan for 3 lines (you didn't say how many minutes, so I'll go with 700 as an example) would be $79.98, plus text ($10 for 500 and unlimited M2M) and data ($15 for 150 MB) on the third line would be $105 plus taxes per month. Is that comparable to what you are paying now?

Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements deal question

So last week I bought Adobe Premiere Elements and I love it but I just found out that there was a deal where you could buy Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop Elements for $149. I really want Photoshop Elements but if I buy it individually I have to pay $99. I was wondering is there a way to just add it on to the Premeiere Elements I just bought? Or am I stuck having to pay the $99 for Photoshop elements?

You're making it much more complicated than it has to be. If you make a shortcut for the DNG converter on your windows desktop or for a mac, a desktop alias or put the converter in the Dock, you can just drop a single file on it. The converter will open and you can ignore the stuff in the window except for the destination for the converted file, and click Convert.

Having problems with aperture 3 on imac osx 10.7 and wish to install adobe photoshop elements 10, question will i loose all my liberary from aperture??

You'd only loose your Aperture libraries if you deleted them or damage them in some other way. The simple act of installing another app will not do this.
Of course you do realize that PS will not have any access to the Aperture libraries. If your originals are referenced then PS can get to them as it would to any file. If your originals are managed you will need to export them in order for PS to use them.
This all assumes you are abandoning Aperture for PS. If you are looking to do something else post back,
