Photoshop CC: Save for Web- The file or directory could not be found.

I've seen similar questions but have not found a solution that works.
So far, these are the steps I have taken with a MacBook Pro OSX 10.9.2, 16G, SSD:
1.     Uninstall and re-installed both Photoshop CC and inDesign CC. (Figured there were shared libraries)
2. Opened PScc with default preferences by using  Ctrl+Alt+Shift buttons
3.     Uninstalled a couple of plugins that I thought might have been the culprit (Enigma64, GuideGuide)
None of these have worked and I don't know what other steps I can take to fix this problem.
Any ideas????

This forum is about the Cloud as a delivery process, not about using individual programs
If you start at the Forums Index http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says ALL FORUMS) to open the drop down list and scroll
I will GUESS that is a permissions problem... over on the Windows side, those kinds of errors are often fixed by right clicking the program icon and selecting RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR from the pop up option list... I have no idea how permissions are handled on a Mac

  • "The file or directory could not be found" video problem

I have embedded a YouTube link into one of my pages and it plays fine when I preview and publish it, however, when it is exported as HTML, I get a grey box with the message:
Here is the link to the published page: http://clickevents.businesscatalyst.com/about-carmichael.html
This is the HTML for the video link within the page:
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/D1y_lp2a1lE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

I ended up finding someone else who was having this problem and it turns out that you just need to add "http:" to beginning of the source url:
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/D1y_lp2a1lE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  • The file aqq12s0m.sys could not be found during Win XP installation

When I try to reinstall XP pro I receive message "The file aqq12s0m.sys could not be found. press any key to continue." and when I press it, comp restarts.
    Any clue about that file?

    Hi,
is this the original recovery CD or a genuine Windows XP installation disk??
    Following reasons for that problem:
    - Disc is damaged or scratched or warped or simply not working
    - CD/DVD drive has some problem
    - Some piece of hardware does not work properly
    - Memory could be faulty
Try to exclude these points and you will get the answer on that file.
Usually, such problem appears (I mean with a non-working file) when the CD is scratched or the drive does not work like it should..
    Cheers

  • Photoshop cs5 + Save For Web appends file names

    Hey everyone :
Anyone know of a fix or a preference i can set? Hopefully, the response isn't "Can't do that anymore".
    Example file name/structure:
    Filename_partof-filename.version-01.00.psd
    Issue (save for web):
    CS3 - Filename_partof-filename.version-01.00.jpg
    CS5 - Filename_partof-filename.jpg
Using a period as part of the file name was never a problem before CS5/5.5. Having to re-type half the file name in the SaveForWeb dialog is aggreviating/annoying to say the least. I know I can use hypens and underscores, etc but after using photoshop since v3 and using periods as part of my naming convention for 15 years, ...like I said, it's just an annoyance.
    Anyone come across this? Suggestions?
    Thanks tons,
    Greg

    Adobe Photoshop Version: 12.0.4 (12.0.4x20110407 [20110407.r.1265 2011/04/07:02:00:00 cutoff; r branch]) x64
...yep, everything up to date (more or less).
This isn't a recent CS5 issue but a CS5 issue from the day it was released...I just got aggreviated enough today with it to come here and see if I could find an answer. It's definitely a SaveForWeb issue and not SaveAs.
Here's a similar post from back in March 2011...http://forums.adobe.com/message/3509172#3509172
    Just to be clear...
    - Open new/old PS file
    - Save with name.name.v.01.psd
    - Quit PS
    - Re-open file
    - SaveForWeb
...if you're able to save it out with the file name in tact, I have no idea how.
I've tried 4 different CS5 Photoshops and they all truncate the name after the first period.

  • The file IMAGE.JPG could not be found because the volume on which it resides is currently offline.

After restoring from Time Machine onto a new Mac, all images in Aperture are now just outlined. Aperture can't find the volume of the master images because that was the volume of my old Mac. Is there any way to tell Aperture to reconnect with the master images in the new volume? I've tried everything I could think of, with the Alt+Cmd upon opening Aperture and the trying all of the repair and rebuild choices, but nothing has worked.

Sorry to hear that this isn't working for you. In all my experience it has always behaved correctly.
Just to be certain the correct procedure is being followed
You select all the missing images in Aperture before running Locate Referenced Files
In the window that opens all the selected images are in the upper part of the window in red
You select one of these images then click in the lower half of the window
In the lower half of the window you locate the file that you've selected in the upper half of the window
the reconnect all button becomes active and you select it
But at this point only the file selected and those in the same folder get reconnected? The overall layout of the file system on the new disk is the same as the old disk?
In your secon post you mentioned needing to use the alt key to make the reconnect buttons active. Is this still the case or do they become active when you go through the above steps?

  • Photoshop wont "Save for Web"

Ever since I installed CC on my vanilla MacMini (Late 2014) running OS X 10.10.1, I haven't been able to use the "Save for Web" feature in Photoshop (2014.2.2 Release, 20141204.r.310 x64) anymore. I keep getting an error message saying "The operation could not be completed. The file or directory could not be found."
Google and the forums have unfortunately only come up with people having similar problems, but not with any solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I seem to have skipped your earlier response.
I've been on OS X 10.10.2 for a couple of days now. Pretty much since it was released.
Here's the contents of my ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings directory:
Seems like the file is missing and PS can't write in there for one reason or another. These are the permission settings on the folder:
Turns out, my initial idea wasn't the worst: I now transferred the entire ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings directory from my tmp-admin user to my actual user. Lo and behold – tataaa – sure enough, there was a Save For Web Prefs.psp file in there. And after starting PS, I can now SFW again.
This issue is worked around, but I am still puzzled and a bit annoyed by the fact, that there doesn't seem to be any real explanation, why on earth that problem happened in the first place and what might still be running differently than it should.
    For reference …
The contents of the imported settings-directory (permissions: drwxr-xr-x   20 r8r  staff) look as follows:
The contents of the original directory (permissions: drwxrwxr-x  17 r8r  staff) like this:
    Beats me.
Anyways – thanks a lot for the assistance, and if you have any further ideas on how to get to the root of the problem, I'd be happy to hear about it!

  • Photoshop CS6 Save For Web UI extra border Bug

Last week we finally got upgraded to CS6, and I'm dissapointed to see the visual defect I reported in CS5.5 still exists in Photoshop CS6 Save for Web. The details and screenshots are all the same as in my previous thread. http://forums.adobe.com/message/3843054#3843054
Isn't there a way to fix this?  I rely on PhotoShop to be pixel perfect, not to add extra distracting lines and borders to my work.

FYI, just to test I just did a crop of an image, then screen grabbed the result.
To ensure the edge is visible, I changed the workspace background from the dark gray I usually use to a lighter gray...  Here's the pertinent part of the workspace...
A closeup of the upper-right corner:
Notably, I don't see any black line around it like you showed.  This leads me to wonder whether I interpreted your screen grab properly...

  • Rescuing my RAW color from Photoshop's "Save for Web"

    Hi,
I love the depth of colors the images have in RAW format (with 16bits per channel). However, when I go to Save for Web, the color profile gets trashed (in the preview as it would in a browser) and I'm left with a lifeless image that pales in comparison to the original. To prepare for this, what I've been doing, is switching to the 'Monitor RGB' Proof Setup and adjusting Brightness & Contrast. Is there a better way? Thanks.

    >If I'm not embedding the ICC profile in the JPG, won't Save for Web/Monitor RGB show me what the file will look like in a browser?
No, it will only show you what it looks like on
your monitor in an unmanaged app. It will
not show you what it will look like on other people's monitors. sRGB was designed to resemble an average monitor, so if you want to know what your image will look like on average on other people's monitors in unmanaged apps/browsers/flash, you need to look at a sRGB version in a managed app. Otherwise you're just targeting your specific monitor and actually causing a bigger difference on other people's monitors because of it.

    1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
    2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled.

  • This is an error from my HP scanner. How can I fix the problem? An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only.

I recently uploaded the Maverick operating system. I wanted to scan some things on my HP Printer/Scanner and could not . This is the error message I received: An  error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to.   Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only. I am a novice with the computer and have no one to help. I hope someone knows an easy fix.
    Thank you

    This worked for me:
"Although it is not a 'fix' for the HP issue, I did find a workaround that helped me. In the Preferences Panel in MacOS X you can pull up the Printer/Scanner preferences and scan directly from OS X. I'd not known of this prior to posting here and it worked like a charm."
"Of course, HP should still update their software, but it's good to know that Apple has it covered for them."
    I found it here:

  • "An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check ..."

I have the familiar Mavericks issue of failing to save scanned files from my Mac:
"An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."
As far as I can see, there has been no resolution to this issue, despite reassurances dating to last fall (2013).
The support website acts funky, too, sending me around in circles when I try to download the drivers; it may be a Safari-only problem, but still, please fix your software!

    Hi,
What is your printer model? what Mac OS X version?
Have you tried scanning with Image Capture or Preview?

  • Installed new update iTunes Saturday - My file directory could not be found, so reset the directory path, 'it' asked me if I would like 'it' to re organise filing, I selected yes - Many tunes have been duplicated, some have disappeared. Any help?

    Hi,
Installed a new update iTunes Saturday - My file directory could not be found, so I reset the directory path, and 'it' asked me if I would like 'it' to re organise my filing, foolishly (as a beginner, without checking)  I selected yes - Many tunes have been duplicated, some have disappeared? Trawled through lots of misleading help files, mailed friends, tried many back routes into Apple web sites and they all wasted my time. Can anyone help?
I have discovered since then, that this resorce has been down over the weekend, which probably explains why I have had so many contradictory responses, so apologies if you all know what the prolem is.
My question is, my TIME MACHINE (which has not been used yet) was tried but looked nothing like that of the U Tube demo, so I am assuming that it needs setting up, however, it has been saving, I just do not know how to recover the data. Can anyone help?
    Regads,
    Cyfrommayo

(If you have a Time Machine backup, go to your User folder/Music/iTunes and select iTunes. Enter Time Machine and go to a backup of iTunes before the above happened. Then select 'Restore' on the bottom right.)
    Eric,
    Many thanks for your help.
Apologies for not being as skilled as you. I am unable to see what you are saying, can I ask, should I be in TIME MACHINE when I go to User folder/Music?iTunes or iTunes or Finder?
