Photoshop CC, selecting print function causes all menus to become unavailable

Yesterday PS CC worked fine. Today I have started PS, selected an image and then selected 'File/print' - nothing happens, and all options in the drop down menu's are greyed out. I can't deselect the image or close PS other than through task manager. Can someone advise what has happened and how I can correct this issue? Don't know if this is relevant but there were some windows updates last night.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Print function causes VI to hang.

I am running two VIs concurrently one is an "operator screen" and one is a "test screen".
When I print the front panel of the test screen using the "Print Panel.vi" all VIs will hang for about 1 to 3 seconds.
This interuppts the data flow on the other VIs.
Is there a way to eliminate this interuption?

Perhaps if the two VIs were running in different threads? Can't say for sure because you only posted one VI and that VI was missing all the subvis so I couldn't run the example.

All print functions cause freezing

Whenever I try to print to my HP OfficeJet 6310, my Mac freezes. If I go to System Preferences to examine the print settings, it also freezes. I tried uninstalling the print driver, but this also causes the Mac to freeze.
I recently enabled Google Cloud Printing in Chrome and wondered if this could be causing the problem since printing was working before I did this. I disabled it and restarted but am still having the same problem.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Printables can be managed / scheduled through your HP Connected Account.
The Safari browser, in particular, historically does not work to manage the HP Connected Account Printables.
Try installing a Browser OTHER than the Safari browser to manage your Printables from your iPad.

Selecting printer properties causes application to terminate

When I attempt to print a pdf document, if I just select the 'print' option it works fine. However, if I select the printers 'properties' button in order to change these the application terminates. I have Windows Vista on my machine and had been happily using an older version of Reader before the problem arose. I have now downloaded version X10.1.4, but this has not resolved the problem.
The error message I get is " Adobe Reader has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". The only solution offered was to download a later version of Reader.
The sequence of the problem suggests that something has changed in Windows Vista and that this is not yet reflected in Reader

I don't know what is causing this. What I would try if this happened to me
try to disable Protected Mode [Adobe Reader | Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)]
try installing the latest printer driver

Creating Poster from File function causes all graphics files to distort.

Sorry for the long subject title, didn't know how to pare it down...
What's happening is when I add 3D content in Acrobat 3D V8 I select the option in the Poster Image window to "Creat poster from file", the graphic ALWAYS rotates the image and often distorts it as well.
Any fix for this?

I don't get this error. I've tried both JPG and BMP files, and both work. Hmmm...maybe it's due to the aspect ratio. Try at least matching the layout (portrait/landscape) between the 3D annot and the graphic file.

Print Current Report All

We are using Web Intelligence Rich Client
Version 14.0.2
BUild 481
For single page reports my report prints exactly as expected.
However for reports with mulitple pages when I select "Print > Current Report > All, the first page of the report is printed and the remainder of the pages are printed as blank pages.
Has anyone had a similar problem or am I missing something.

this sounds decidedly buggy ..
I did a Note search and 1624266 sounds similar. However the bug ADAPT01595242 which was for the BI 4.0 codeline got closed/rejected without a proper investigation (IMO) I will ask in ternally for follow-up
Firstly, i would encourage you to try again, on the latest Patch2.8, (FYI - 2.9 comes out next week) and test again.
IF you still get the issue after that, please contact primary support, log a message, and attach your problem document to the OSS.
BTW - that note hints to a workaround - use the DHTML (web) viewer as your WebIntelligence preferences, instead of rich internet application (java)

All toolbar searches causes all tabs to be highlighted in firefox 8

All toolbar searches (File; Edit; View; History; Bookmarks; Tools; Help) when scrolling down causes all tabs to become highlighted. I did not have this problem in version 3.6 since I upgraded to both 7 and 8 this problem continues to be an issue.

Try a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.

I have upgraded my iMac to Yosemite but now my two Canon Printers no longer print from Photoshop CS6. I have upgraded the drivers. All other applications including Lightroom are fine. How can I get the OS to return a list of printers to Photoshop when Photoshop requests a list.

After restart error message appears:

The printer printed fine until about 2 weeks ago when this error message appeared. Printing continues from Pages, I-photo, preview etc. — only Photoshop fails.
The printer has been turned on and off, as have open documents been closed and open etc.. Preferences reset. Repeatedly I have read through blogs and forums and attempted to contact Adobe — all without results
Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.

Using Photoshop CS6 and after printing approx. 10 cards on an Epson R3000 printer the program gives me a dialog box saying "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." Even after closing and reopening the program, the print command is greyed out so I cannot select any printer. This also happens with a Brother laser printer. Both printers will produce a test page out side of the Adobe product. Help!

I cannot get any help either. I get the message "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." I have reinstalled all drivers, powered off/on all printers (2 of them - a Brother HL - 4040cn and an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 - which all worked fine until this morning). There appears to be no path to a solution. I have read all the forums and tried about 20 different suggestions all to no avail. Reboots, changing cables, reinstalling printers and drivers and Photoshop CS6 - ALL TO NO AVAIL. On a macbook pro retina with 10.10.3. This issue is out there and some get solutions - but not all - that's my crowd...the not all crowd. I have yet to be able to print from CS6 any more. This is a show stopper and my patience is wearing thin. And I'm tired of stupid questions like "is your printer powered on?" give me a break. Printing from PS CC worked fine today. I made no changes to preferences. In between working with 2 projects, the first one printed fine, the second gave me this Error Message.

Now I've checked for updates for my printer, reset my printer, reset PS CC preferences, picked my printer as Default and Last Used, and rebooted. I've followed all the recommended fixes for this issue I could find here and on the internet. I can print fine from any other program. Alas, the error message keeps popping up and I can't print.

I've never had this problem before. It only affects Photoshop CS6 and CS5 that I have installed. I'm running MAC OS 10.9.5
I have three printers and HP and two Epsons, and I get this dialogue when trying to print from Photoshop CS6 or CS5.
There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.
Other applications print fine on all three printers. I tried deleting the Photoshop Prefs numerous times without results.
Does anyone have an answer for this?

Photoshop CS5 crashes when selecting print settings in print dialog box

I work on a Mac Pro desktop with OS 10.6.4. Photoshop CS5 crashes every time I try to select "print settings" in the print dialog box. I work in a large office and our networked color printer is a Konica Minolta bizhub C451. In fact, if I hit "print" it will crash whether or not I hit "print settings" first. In CS4, there was a separate menu item that allowed you to change printer settings before going into the print dialog box. That choice is gone now, you have to select it through the print dialog box.
This is the only way I can print out color proofs for my clients. Unfortunately, I do not have administrator rights to any printer (our office has about 100 people, only IT staff can fiddle with that). What can I do to get this solved?

I think I have fixed it, though I'm not sure why this worked.
System Preferences>Print & Fax. Selected the Konica Minolta printer (the B/W printer was working fine). Changed the name. Still didn't fix it. Went back selected my newly named Konica Minolta then "Open Print Queue" (like Dave said)>print settings. Change the driver to "Generic Postscript printer." I could print, but only on letter-size paper, no other options available (need tabloid). Went back to system preferences>print & fax>Konica Minolta2>open print queue>drivers then I reselected the updated printer drivers--the same one that hasn't been working.
Now, it works.

The only working print-related function in BioBench1.2 on my PC is the "Print Report", all the other "Print" functions gave me "Error, the printer is not set up correctly".

I used to print all my BioBench data by first exporting them to Excel and then print from there. Recently I need to print some of the screen shots and some data directly from array analysis, but when I click on the "print" buttons, the "Error, the printer is not set up correctly" message occurs. The only thing I can print from BB without this error is the report printing function. I have a postcript printer and I have set the postscript option to be "true"... Thanks !

This problem is a result of a limitation in Windows 9x regarding the size of an image that you can send to the printer. The problem does not occur on Windows 2000/NT. This problem appeared with the increased color options of LabVIEW 6.0 on which the BB1.2 is based.Although it is not immediately obvious, your video driver and settings play a role in printing.
1. Try adjusting the color palette your driver uses (i.e., 256 color, high olor, true color). The error may occur only in one of these modes. Also, change the resolution (number of pixels) to represent the Screen Area; e.g., change from a 1024 x 768 display to an 800 x 600 pixel display.
2.Certain video drivers also support "acceleration" modes. Using a non-accelerated mode often eliminates the error. For
Windows 95/98, right-click on your My Computer icon and select "Properties" from the pop-up
menu. On the Performance tab, click the Graphics button and change the Hardware Acceleration (e.g., if it is set to "Full", lower the setting a notch or two); for Windows 2000/NT, right-click on your Desktop and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. On the Settings tab, click the Advanced button and go to
Troubleshooting.
3.In Windows, the standard VGA driver provided by the operating system is very stable. Try using this driver in place of the specific one written for your video hardware. If the error is eliminated, there is likely a problem with your vendor-provided video driver.
4.These errors are most often fixed with the latest
video/printer driver. Be sure to contact your hardware manufacturer and install the latest driver. An easy way to determine if your error is "driver-related" is to move your code to another machine (and hopefully a different set of drivers) and see if th
e error persists. If the problem is printer related, try another printer.
5.Make sure there are at least 100M avalible space in your C: drive. If not, set the virtual memory to the other drive which has larger available space.
