Photoshop CC Sync Settings failed

When I try and sync my application settings, I always get an error message saying 'sync settings failed - can't connect to creative cloud'. However, I am signed in to the creative cloud application manager (sitting in my task bar, saying I am signed in) and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. Why can't my photoshop sync my settings?

Having the exact same issue, for months now (originally, I had (almost) no problem syncing settings.)
I'm on a 2010-2011 27" iMac running OS X Mavericks, never had a single software/network issue with this machine since the day I bought it.  I typically run 2 to 4 Adobe apps simultaneously, in addition to Chrome, Spotify, Mail, and a couple of other apps/utilities sporadically with no performance delays (aside from memory cache needing to be cleared occasionally).
I'm connected to Creative Cloud via the app and signed-in via browser.  In the CC app I can see that all my apps are up to date, I can access my files, I can see the synced fonts, etc (however I cannot connect to Behance).
Error messages I encounter:
Photoshop CC: Sync settings failed. Cannot connect to Creative Cloud.
Dreamweaver CC: Sync settings failed. Last Sync: 1/24/14 10:20 AM (not sure how that even connected or why during that time on that day.)
Illustrator CC: Cannot even click the Sync button, it's greyed out.  If I click the Share on Behance button I get a pop-up that says, "Sorry, there was an error with your request. Please close this window and try again. Still Having Trouble? Contact Behance Help and reference error: Error fetching access token." If I go to that Behance Help page, there is no help on this topic, nor is there a search or anything to input this "Error fetching access token" reference error.
Indesign CC: Does not allow me to click the Sync button, I get a "bad-circle" like Ø icon.
TypeKit: Not an error message, but this feature is so unbelievably unreliable and inconsistent I dare even call it a "feature."  Newly added fonts don't show up for days.  Always need to restart Apps before they will show up.  Sometimes fonts will just disappear.  I love the IDEA of this but I'm so disappointed in the execution...are we PAYING to be beta testers?!
Not being able to sync my settings in the CC isn't the end of the world, but I still want to be able to do it, and I spend what? $50 a month on this, and this is like a CORE feature of the product.
I would sincerely appreciate any help at all fixing this CC syncing issue, I have no idea what to do next.

  • Syncing Settings Failed

So, my company made the leap to CC last month and we've been enjoying the benefits of frequent support updates and all the new tools, etc.
But now I'm experiencing an error when attempting to sync with CC from Adobe Premiere Pro.  Every time I tell Premiere to 'Sync Now', from any machine I get the popup message: "Syncing Settings Failed"
The software notes that the last successful sync was on the day I installed & ran the software for the first time.  I'm logged into my Creative Cloud account, and logged into Adobe Premiere Pro ...what am I missing?
    Best,
    James

Thanks, Arpit.  I followed those steps and the problem persists.
In fact, all staff on the same team plan are experiencing this issue.  We've all logged out and back in on various different workstations (mostly Windows 7 Professional SP1).
A new version of Adobe CC (desktop application manager) was available and installed this morning on all systems--we noticed no change.
Oddly, Photoshop and Illustrator sync on all accounts with no problem.
But Premiere and After Effects do not sync.  Below are the error messages from each software:
    Pr: "Syncing Settings Failed"
AE: "Authentication failed. Check network connection, Adobe ID, and password. Please try again."

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/sync-settings.html

    Steve,
Actually, I beleive this is a CC issue... but Who Am I? In any event...
I have not been able to Sync.
I have had only one Adobe ID (since around PS 3).
My Network Connection is fine (if evidenced only by us communicating.)
I have quit and lanched PS probably 20 times since I discovered this issue last week.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.

  • Sync settings failed

I opened Dreamweaver and got the message "sync settings failed"

I was having this same issue in Dreamweaver CC.  "Sync Settings Now" was greyed-out in the Application Bar and in Preferences > Sync Settings.  I did the following and it's working now:
    - Opened Preferences > Sync Settings and checked "Enable Automatic Sync".  Clicked Apply.  The status under my Adobe ID changed to "Syncing...".  I let it sit for about 10 minutes, but the status never changed.  I closed/reopened Preferences and the sync status under my Adobe ID was showing a date and time of last sync, so it appeared to have synced, but "Sync Settings Now" was still greyed-out.
    - Opened Help > Sign Out (Adobe ID) and signed out.  Closed DW, relaunched, then had to sign-in again.  "Sync Settings Now" still greyed-out.
    - Opened Creative Cloud in web browser then clicked on account icon in upper right corner and selected "My Application Settings".  I deleted my previous synced settings (I didn't have anything worth saving).  Closed, then relaunched DW.  "Sync Settings Now" still greyed-out.
    - Rebooted computer.  Launched DW.  "Sync Settings Now" is back and working again.  I opened Preferences > Sync Settings, disabled automatic sync, then clicked Sync Settings Now and it synced successfully (took about 15 seconds).  I opened Sync Settings from the Application Bar and was able to sync from there as well.  (NOTE: the sync settings button remains clickable regardless of how your automatic sync settings are set)
    Good luck.
    Edit:  I'm using Version 13.1 build 6443

  • Premiere Pro Sync Settings Failed

I'm running Premiere Pro CC (2014) 8.2.0 (65) on a Mac. I've been trying to make Sync Settings work and keep giving up. I move around enough from facility to facility that a quick import of my settings would be amazing... if I could get it to work.
All software is the most recent update as of 04/14/2015
I've cleared preferences and returned to the default PP.
I've cleared the settings on the cloud for PP.
I've quit Creative Cloud desktop and relaunched.
I've logged out of Creative Cloud desktop and logged back in.
Followed these instructions. Troubleshooting Sync Settings
I've pretty much tried every solution I've seen here in the forums and still no luck.
So I have two questions. Do people use this feature successfully on Mac? And... what the solution?
    Thanks

    HI,
Just try downloading the 7.1 update from the below Link and then sign out from creative cloud .
Restart the computer and signin into cretaive cloud and open premier pro and check if it is updated

  • Premiere Pro 2014: Syncing Settings Failed

I filed a bug report, but is anyone else having no luck at all syncing settings to Pr CC 2014?  I uninstalled and reinstalled the update just to be sure; can't get anything to work.

UPDATE 2: jstrawn was right.  Good things come to those who wait.  Syncing worked.  So I hit 'Clear Settings'.  Then sync didn't work.  And then it did again.  I'm happy and not messing with it anymore.
UPDATE: I managed to find my layouts and keyboard shortcuts and manually transferred them.  Good enough for me.  Cheers.
    Original Reply:
I ran into this issue an hour ago, and maybe my experience up to now can be helpful to tracking parts of the issue down.
Sidenote: Prior to today, my last sync was in September.  I am running Win7 Pro - 64bit.
I went to migrate my settings over from Premiere to Premiere 2014 and initially thought it had worked--unfortunately, the 2014 version had uploaded, now downloaded the prefs, despite my explicitly asking to download them.
In detail, I had gone to preferences, changed the default to "Always Download" and synced.  Upon reopening the new project, I noticed no migrated settings, and checked the preferences again.  It was set to default to "Always Upload" instead of Download.
I have now noticed that after every time I try to sync in Premiere 2014, if I then close and reopen the app, the default preferences behavior changes to "Always Upload".  Interesting.
I then went to Premiere CC to upload the correct preferences.  The error then popped up, over and over.  I came to this forum and saw a suggestion to try "Sign in as another user."  This went through without an error, but it did not upload anything.
This is my current state now:
    No more error.
Premiere Pro CC will NOT upload it's preferences to/from Adobe cloud servers.  I am not testing it's download capabilities for obvious reasons (I don't want my actual preferences to be overridden).
Premiere Pro CC 2014 will upload and download preferences to/from Adobe cloud servers.

  • Photoshop CC2014 sync settings not uploading; can't connect to Cloud?

    Hello,
I got a new computer and was expecting to sync my settings without issue, but instead the settings only downloaded the default settings, and not my best settings from my main computer (I do not have my main computer with me.) Frustrated but determined, I went ahead set up my settings and installed my brushes, tool sets, actions and menu preferences just as I want them. It took about an hour to do this. Satisfied with my settings, it's time to upload...
But now, I get the following error every time I try to upload my settings to the Creative Cloud. Attached are screen shots of what I see.
No matter what I try, my settings won't upload.  It fails to connect at the very end of the upload.

Initially, I was getting the same error. Then I hit Retry and was able to Upload & download my settings.
There were some issue reported with the Creative Cloud server today. So, might be a temporary problem.
Would suggest you guys to Retry and check.
Let me know, if it still does not work.

  • Sync Settings & Destinations

    Hello Forum!
Not sure about all of you, but we have several machines, that all use compressor very heavily. We have many custom settings & destinations that we copy to each machine, but when one changes, (FTP site changes, video size, watermarks ect..) we then have to update the settings on each individual machine!
Has anyone successfully used a server to share out these settings & presets?
We've tried to use dropbox, by adding an alias where the settings & destinations are kept, but compressor ignores the alias and loads up without any of the custom settings.
hopefully we can find a solution, quite a pain to update each machine individually...

  • Photoshop CC 2014.2.1 can't sync settings with Creative Cloud

    Good day,
Photoshop CC 2014.2.1 can't sync settings with Creative Cloud for some reason. I'm signed in, no firewalls, the router is fine. Other apps, Premiere Pro for example, sync without issues.
Photoshop keeps saying "Connecting to Creative Cloud..." with uploads starting, but nothing is happening. I've left it in this state for an hour just in case. Is there a workaround or a fix?

For what it's worth I have access to a second computer with the correct sync settings (which I synced to the Cloud, so the Cloud should now have my desired sync settings), but PS on my first computer still refuses to show anyway to apply these settings.
I'm downloading the 2014 release now but it shouldn't really be necessary. This is so frustrating, especially when the Adobe PS sync help page only applies to the 2014 release (I can't find any sync help for the previous versions anymore).

  • Photoshop CC can't sync settings

I'm logged into the CC desktop app fine. In Photoshop under help, I see that I'm signed in. But under preferences/sync settings, it says I am not signed in and can't sync.
I tried deleting the file in the thread below, signed out and into the desktop app, and signed out and back in in Photoshop. Restarted. Nothing worked.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6029393
This setting is fine in Illustrator and InDesign.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I went into the help menu and signed out of PSCC 2014, and then signed right back into it and it was available for me to save my settings. This worked for me - Hope it works for anyone who finds this post.

  • Sync Settings in Premier CC fails

Trying to sync settings to the Cloud. Get the message that it failed. What now?

Is this issue only occuring with Premiere Pro? Are you able to sync settings in After Effects, Illustrator or InDesign for example?
Could you also provide some details about your network. Are you behind a firewall or proxy server that could be preventing access? See if a similar discussion helps: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5709675

  • Sync Settings between 2 computers in Photoshop

Why when I sync my settings for Photoshop on one machine do my actions etc not appear on my second machine when I then sync settings on there?  What am I doing wrong?

Hello, are you correctly logged on both machines? Is Photoshop up to date to 14.2?
Do you get an error message? Does the action bear the same names on both machines?

  • Why is it so chaotic to Sync Settings between apps of Adobe CC 2014? (and to transfer settings from CC to CC 2014)

Although, in general I'm a big fan of the Adobe Products and the CC Idea, I think that some parts of it were not ready for launch.
The part that mostly disturbs me is the settings syncing / Update. (Or "Seamless Update")
    Concerning the updates:
I had own workspace in all the CC Adobe Apps, the only CC 2014 App that imported the previous settings in the new app at the first start was Photoshop.
Indesign made it through the Edit => Migrate previous local settings
Illustrator by copying the settings files manually
in Dreamweaver and Flash I had to recreate the workspace manually (which finally took less time then trying  to sync settings.)
So long for the Seamless update that wasn't so seamless.
    Concerning the settings syncing
Why could'nt adobe have the settings syncing working the same way in all it's CC 2014 applications? ( File Menu on PC / The Name of the App Menu on Mac => Sync Settings, upload or download settigns; done!)
    Instead (on mac) :
In Photoshop: Photoshop => my account name => upload and download settings ( and no way to import settings from previous version )
In Illustrator: Illustrator => my account name => Sync Settings ( and I cannot import settings from the previous version, only from the same version )
in Indesign: Indesign => my account name => Sync Settings ( and the only CC 2014 App where the "Migrate previous local settings" function is working )
in Dreamweaver => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Flash => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Premiere Pro => my account name => Sync Settings with the possibility to clear settings and to use settings from a different account
Appart from that update and syncing chaos, the syncing between two computers simply doesn't seem to work ( at least for me).
I have a computer at work and a laptop at home and I'd like to have the same workspace in my apps at home as at work for occasional home working.
I created and configured my custom workspaces on the mac at work and then synced settings (respectively uploaded them in Photoshop). I had cleared all the saved settings from the Creative Cloud online account first.
I arrived at home, tried to sync settings but no workspace was implemented. (and before you ask, yes i had checked that the workspaces should be synced and that, on the laptop at home, the cloud settings should be applied.)
After few tryings I gave up and ended up recreating my setings on both machine. Frankly I don't know why the sync settings are for, since they just don't seem to work.
I really think you should rethink this feature: make it simpler, working THE SAME WAY in all Adobe apps, and, well, just working!
I'd just like to log into creative cloud an any computer, sync settings, and be able to use my custom created workspace.
I posted this in the Cloud Forum since, in my opinion, the settings syncing is a cloud matter and not a matter of each app individually.

Whenever I try to sync my iPod Touch 5th gen with iTunes I get an error message saying "The iPod "*****" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start". Is there any way I can fix this?

B-rock, thanks for posting the above.  I actually have the same issue, running Windows XP and I don't have that backup location, \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\.  When I go to Documents and Settings\(username)\ there's a AppData folder followed by:\LocalLow\DataMngr\ .
I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message.  I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?
    Thank you!

Make sure you don't have Restrictions enabled under Settings/General. If it's enabled, you might need to restart your phone afterwards.
